"Hi, Anne," Kathy greeted her unexpected guest as she opened the door. "Come on in."

"We're here to get Kitty's stuff," Anne said as she barged into the house, followed by Louis and Kitty.

Kathy frowned. "Why? What happened?"

"He didn't tell you?" asked Kitty.

"Tell me what?"

"He kicked me out last night."

Kathy gasped. "Oh no! Why?"

"Who is it?" roared Henry's voice from another room.

"Anne and Louis," Kathy yelled back. "Kitty's with them."

Henry appeared in the doorway. "Get that woman out of my house, right now!"

"Not until I get my stuff!" Kitty hollered into his face. In the meantime, Anne and Louis quietly slipped into the hallway and made their way to the master bedroom. Once inside the large walk-in closet, they began to take Kitty's clothes down from her side and cram them into large black plastic trash bags from the box they'd brought along.

From a distance they heard an unearthly cry, and a few seconds later, Kitty ran into the bedroom.

"What happened?" asked Anne.

"He tried to grab me, but I pushed him out of the way," Kitty replied. "I guess he must have lost his balance."

Anne giggled, then pulled a bag from the box and thrust it at her cousin. "You'd better hurry before he recovers."

The three of them soon had nine or ten bags full of clothing and other items, and they began to carry them down the hallway and out of the house to the van they'd borrowed from Louis's uncle.

Kathy helped Henry to a chair and stood beside it talking to him. They both stopped talking and watched what their uninvited guests were doing, but neither tried to stop them.

It was hard work and took most of the day. When they were finished, they took the things Kitty would need in the immediate future back to their house and left them in the room in which she would be staying. They took the rest to a storage facility and rented a unit.

"I just can't believe she'd do that to you!" Kathy said to Henry.

"Neither can I," Henry whined. "I gave that girl everything. Everything! There was nothing she lacked, and you can see how she appreciated it!"

"I know," Kathy commiserated. "It's a real shame."

"Aren't I the most generous man you've ever known? The most gallant, the most courteous?"

"Absolutely!" Kathy assured him.

"Then I deserve a woman who recognizes that." His eyes narrowed. "So what's this thing you have going with Jane's brother?"

"He's my boyfriend. We've been dating for about six months now. I really like him a lot."

"Is it serious?"

"I hope it is."

"Hm."

"How's the job hunt going?" Anne asked as she walked into Kitty's room.

"It's coming along," Kitty replied. "I found a couple of agencies that are looking for models. I have appointments to audition at both of them."

"You know you can't be picky, Kitty."

Kitty turned wounded eyes to her cousin. "Do I look like a burger flipper to you?"

"You look like a woman who needs to get off her lazy ass and stop sponging off other people!"

"Humph!" Kitty turned away and refused to say anything more.

"Guess what," Louis said to Anne as she walked into the room.

"What?"

"Charlie's being sued for child support by, not one, but two different women."

"Oh my God!" Anne gasped. "How's Terri taking it?"

"She's gone back to her mother and taken the baby with her," Louis replied. "I knew something like this would happen, sooner or later."

"So tell me about these two women."

"One's the mother of a six-month-old girl. She'd been planning to put the baby up for adoption, but after it was born, she changed her mind. The other just found out she's pregnant."

"Wow, poor Terri!"

"Yeah."

She reached for him and pulled him into a hug.

"What's this for?" he asked her as he hugged her back.

"Just for being yourself."

"I'm afraid I have some rather bad news," Henry said to Kathy as she arrived for work one day. "I hate to have to break it to you, but you really should know."

"Oh, no!" Kathy gasped. "What is it?"

"This." Henry took out his cell phone and found the picture he'd Photo shopped in which a man with Tommy Seymour's face and a beautiful woman were embracing. "I was in Brennan's yesterday and saw them together. I know you really care for him, and as badly as I want to spare you the pain, I know it's better you learn now rather than later."

He handed the cell phone to Kathy and watched as her mouth formed a round 'O' of surprise.

"I'm so sorry," he said.

"There must be some explanation for this." Kathy's voice trembled as her hand holding the cell phone shook. "Maybe she's a relative of his who was in town unexpectedly."

Henry shook his head. "With the deep passionate kiss they shared? I don't think so!"

"You saw them kiss?" Tears streamed down Kathy's cheeks as she looked into his eyes.

"I was rather surprised to see them acting that way in public," Henry replied. "And of course, I was absolutely devastated for you. In truth, I've been debating ever since then whether or not I should show you the photo, but in the end, I decided it would be the right thing to do."

"That bastard!" Kathy's body was convulsed with sobs as Henry embraced her. "Just wait till I get my hands on him - "

"Forget about him," Henry soothed. "He isn't worth it. There are so many men who would treat you the way you deserve to be treated, and I know you'll find one very soon."
