Out on the field, Raven and Ashlynn stood on opposite sides of the arena while Apple sat in the bleachers.
"This will be a three vs. three battle, is that alright?" asked the ref as she looked at Raven.
"Fine by me," said Raven.
"Then send out your pokemon!" said the ref. Raven sent out her Gengar while Ashlynn sent a Glaceon.
"Gengar, use Will-O-Wisp," said Raven.
"Glaceon, use Quick Attack to dodge then Bite!" said Ashlynn. Glaceon did as said and dodged the Will-O-Wisp and went in for the Bite, but it did nothing.
"Use Power-Up Punch while it's attached!" said Raven. Gengar then went on to punch Glaceon over and over.
"Each time that move hits it increases Gengar's attack stat, and Normal Type moves like Bite have no effect on a Ghost Type," thought Apple.
"Now use Fire Punch!" said Raven.
"It knows Fire Punch?!" asked a surprised Ashlynn as the move connected.
"Glaceon is unable to battle," said the ref as pokemon hit the ground.
"You did good," said Ashlynn as she recalled Glaceon. Raven had decided to switch Gengar out.
"Rest up, Gengar," said Raven. Next up, Ashlynn sent out a Beartic while Raven Misdreavus.
"Beartic, use Icicle Crash!" said Ashlynn.
"Misdreavus, use Sunny Day!" said Raven. The little Ghost Type managed to use it's move before getting hit.
"Misdreavus, can you still go?" asked Raven.
"Misdreavus," said the pokemon as it floated back up, a confidant expression on its face.
"Tough little thing," said Ashlynn with an excited expression.
"Misdreavus, use Will-O-Wisp," said Raven.
"It can use Will-O-Wisp too?!" asked Ashlynn.
