The next day, Raven's match with Hunter was underway.
"Simisage, use Solarbeam!" said Hunter.
"Corsola, dodge and use Disable!" said Raven.
"Her Corsola is fast," said Hunter as the little Pokemon dodged the Solabeam with ease.
"Corsola, use Rock Slide!" said Raven.
"That takes Hunter down to his last Pokemon," thought Apple as she watched Simisage faint.
"Raven's Misdreavus was taken out by Lurantis earlier, leaving Gengar and Corsola for Raven but they are both tired while Hunter's last Pokemon has not even been out yet," thought Apple.
"You're time to shine, Shiftry!" said Hunter as he sent out the Pokemon which was of a shiny color.
"Shiftry, use Air Cutter!" said Hunter.
"Corsola, use Harden and then Icy Wind!" said Raven. Corsola managed to harden itself right before Air Cutter hit, withstood the attack, and countered with Icy Wind.
"Smart move, Raven," thought Apple as she noticed Shiftry's feet were frozen to the ground.
"Use Leaf Tornado!" said Hunter.
"Corsola is unable to battle," said the ref as Corsola fainted from the attack after being blown backwards by it.
"You're up, Gengar!" said Raven.
"Shiftry, use Leaf Blade to break the ice on your feet!" said Hunter.
"Gengar, stop it with Hypnosis!" said Raven. Hypnosis hit before Leaf Blade, causing Shiftry to fall asleep.
"Oh no, Shiftry!" said a worried Hunter.
"Gengar, use Nightmare!" said Raven.
"Shiftry's going to take damage every few minutes now, but it'll still take time to beat him and he could wake up," thought Apple.
"Gengar, let's finish it up!" said Raven before using her Inferno Overdrive. A few minutes later, the three were at the entrance to the Gym.
"Just two more badges to go," said Raven as she placed the Sherwood Badge with the others.
"The closest Gym to here is Cerise Hood's over on Wood Island," said Hunter.
"I know Cerise actually, she uses the Double Battle System, specializing in Fighting Types," said Raven.
"Sounds like an easy win for you," said Apple.
"Ms. White!" said Nurse Farrah as she ran up.
"What's wrong?" asked Apple, who had a sinking feeling in her stomach about what it could be.
"It's Clefairy," said Nurse Farrah with a worried expression.
