Dear Diary,

My first couple of months at Hogwarts have gone reasonably well. My cousins James and Fred got in trouble, because, well, of course they did; other than that, it's been generally fine. Louis, Molly, and yes, even James and Fred have helped me get accustomed to Gryffindor house. James is disappointed that Albus isn't in Gryffindor and wants to make me into his next prankster prodigy instead; I respectfully declined. I can't believe they get away with all that given that Cousin Vic is head girl.

Meanwhile, I seem to keep running into Scorpius Malfoy. He seemed really arrogant at first, but I don't know, it's faded a bit. I don't think he's as horrible as Dad made him out to be. I know his dad was a Death Eater, but that's not exactly his fault. Then again, why think he's any better? I don't know. He's actually rather nice. He claims 'blood purity' is very important to him, but he hangs out with plenty of Muggleborns. I think he might just say those things because he wants them to be important to him, like they are to his father and were to his grandfather.

Anyway, enough about Scorpius. I'm pretty sure I saw Teddy on the grounds yesterday; I asked Vic about it, and she told me to stop snooping in matters that were not my business. They're totally dating. I won't tell, of course; I'm not like James, who feels the need to gossip about everyone and everything around him. He and Fred have each had more detentions this year than the rest of us Weasley-Potters put together. Granted, Vic, Dom and Molly are perfectly behaved (and Head Girl, prefect, and sure to get there in Molly's case), but Al and Louis have gotten a handful of detentions each, and, er... so have I. Alright, I have to admit it, there is a little thrill to certain practical jokes. Just a little! But like I said, James and Fred have gotten more than everybody else combined. So. Yeah.

Anyway, got homework to finish.

To be continued,

Rose Granger-Weasley
