Blood of the Wolf
So, I don't own Wolfblood or House of Anubis...Damn.
Summary: Ceri watched as her boys were taken from her by the humans, angered and heartbroken, but relieved in knowing that her cubs would have each other until she could bring them back to where they belonged. Unfortunately, she would later find out her cubs had been separated and grew up in different environments.
September 2000
Ceri should have never left her boys alone for the hunt.
She growled as the human carried her cubs into the strange, human-machine with wheels. She jerked forward, ready to lunge towards the machine but was stopped by Gerwyn.
"We can't," Ceri's mate hissed as his scratchy beard brushed up against the side of her face, his hands wrapped tightly around her arms. "If the humans see us, they'll start asking questions. They'll take us away too because we left our cubs alone."
Ceri growled again, her iris' shifting from brown to bright yellow in an instant. "They're our cubs! We can't let the humans steal them from us!"
"I know, love," Gerwyn said as he looked at the human's machine, a police car. One of the boys, Rhydian if Gerwyn wasn't mistaken, was pounding his little hand against the glass. A window, Gerwyn believed the word was. He had spent some time in the human world to know that windows were a common thing, and police cars were no different. In fact, he knew they were the last kind of human things to be around, the people who drove them had the ability to take a person even if they didn't want to.
Gerwyn didn't want to find out if these humans would be able to take a fully grown wolfblood, nor did he want to expose his true nature to them if he wolfed out. He certainly didn't want Ceri to find out either, he doubts she would ever see him or their cubs if she did.
Gerwyn held onto his mate as the car drove away, carrying their little cubs away. They both could hear the boys crying and it made Gerwyn want to expose his nature to the humans. Ceri was willing to and hearing his cubs cry made Gerwyn more willing.
At least, until they could no longer see the car and Gerwyn hugged Ceri after she dropped to the ground.
"We won't find them until their transformations," Ceri said as she sobbed into Gerwyn's chest.
"At least they'll have each other," Gerwyn said in an attempt to comfort both himself and his mate, unaware of how untrue his words were.
November 2000
"How about we call him Mick for short?" Rory heard his wife, Elise, say as she smiled down at the little blond boy they were planning on adopting. "You know, Mick Campbell sounds better than Merrick Campbell, I'd imagine he would prefer it anyways." Her arms were resting against the playpen the boy and his brother were in.
"Anything you want, Elise," Rory said as he looked from his wife to the boy they were adopting, and the boy's twin brother.
Rhydian, the social worker had told Rory and Elise the other boy's name was. Rhydian and Merrick Morris, 2-year-old identical twins who had been found alone in the middle of the woods without any responsible adults nearby.
The other boy, Rhydian, watched as Elise gave his twin brother more attention than she did to him.
"And what about his brother?" Rory asked his wife, who looked up from the boy she was staring at and frowned.
"What about him?"
"Are we him adopting too?" Rory questioned. He hadn't been opened to having children until his wife revealed her desire for them. Though, neither of them had the time to have a child of their own, Rory and Elise were more than capable of adopting a child. They had the money and the resources to give the child a good life.
Rory watched as his wife glanced at Rhydian for a moment before she looked at her husband.
"We haven't got the time for two children," Elise said as she held her hands out for Rhydian's twin. The boy looked at his brother, both confused by his wife, Rory could tell. For a moment, he could blame the boys.
Displeased that Mick wouldn't automatically jump into her arms, Elise picked the boy up and held him close to her, ignoring the boy's little kicks and cries.
"One child is enough for us," Elise said as she grinned at the boy in her arms. "Aren't you, Mick?"
"No!" The boy in Elise's arms cried as he attempted to reach out for his brother, who was also crying as well.
Rory frowned, remembering that both boys knew little English because they had been around people who spoke Welsh, which explained their names.
"Ready to go?" Elise asked her husband, who frowned at the boy in the playpen before he nodded.
"Let's get the paperwork completed first, dear," Rory said as he looked at his wife and the crying boy in her arms.
Elise nodded and started walking out of the room. Rory didn't follow until she left, he kept his eyes on the little boy still in the playpen.
"You'll see him again, Rhydian," Rory said awkwardly, wondering if the boy even understood what he was saying.
The boy still cried, but his green eyes staring up at Rory. Rory gave a light nod, inwardly kicking himself because he was still interacting with a child who raised his own arms, anticipating to be picked up and taken away with his brother.
Rory sighed and turned away from the boy. He left the room without another word, and Rhydian continued to cry when the man disappeared behind the door.
So, what do you think? Should I continue?
