I didn't get much sleep after what happened with Summer. Salem's name kept running through my head, and I couldn't stop thinking about who Grane Frederick was. If he created the Janus stone like Summer said then he was responsible for bringing Azura and I to Remnant, and I had to know why. Though I had to wait. Ozpin was busy monitoring the second set of students in the Emerald Forest and as a result I wouldn't be able to confront him about Salem or Frederick until after the team-forming ceremony. I was, however, planning on telling my team everything Summer told me as soon as we were all together.
The day after our initiation was spent getting our school uniforms sized correctly and, in the case of others, settling into their dorms. My team had easily settled into our dorm the night before. The beds were arranged on the balcony side of the dorm, with Lloyd and I taking the beds next to the dorm kitchen. Azura and Nila's beds were next to the bathroom as well as the door that led out to the balcony.
Azura and Nila were with Ruby and Jaune, so this left me and Lloyd to talk to each other.
"We really have to wear these every day?" I asked, holding up the blazer part of my uniform. The male uniform consisted of a black blazer with a gold trim, a blue vest, a white shirt with a red tie, and black pants.
"Not every day, but I don't like it either." Lloyd said, placing his uniform into the trunk at the foot of his bed. "At least we can wear whatever we want when we're not in class or doing combat training."
"I feel like it's completely unnecessary, though." I said, placing my blazer down on my bed next to the rest of my uniform. "Dressing nicely for a class isn't gonna make us fight better."
"Well, when you're a prestigious Hunter academy you'd probably want your students to look good so your school looks good." The sniper said.
I didn't like the thought of wearing a uniform to classes, and Azura didn't seem to like it either. It was useless considering what we were attending Beacon for. As a result, Azura and I tried to find loopholes in the rules to avoid wearing the uniform. Although we had to wear the school uniform there was no rule that said we had to wear it a certain way or keep the uniforms gender-specific, so Azura took a male uniform instead of the female uniform.
When are you going to tell them?
Summer hadn't said much to me since the previous night. It wasn't surprising, given the circumstance.
When the whole team is here. Azura especially needs to be here.
I really should have told you everything sooner. I know you can't forgive me, but I'm sorry.
I could physically feel how guilty she felt through a sick feeling in my stomach. I understood why she didn't tell me about Salem, but I had a right to know, and so did my team.
Before I could respond I started feeling a slight pain in the sides of my head and between my eyes. I let out a low groan and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Yo, you good?" Lloyd said, turning around after hearing my groan of discomfort.
"Yeah, I just have a headache." I replied.
"Stress?" Lloyd asked. I hesitated for a moment before nodding in response. Lloyd looked as though he was about to say something before the door to the dorm opened, with Azura and Nila walking in.
"Hey boys," Nila said, "We're going to the next team ceremony with everyone. Want to come?"
Lloyd and I looked at each other, the sniper shrugging his shoulders.
"Ok." Lloyd said, walking to the door.
"Why not?" I said. We left the dorm and started heading to the amphitheater, while my headache started getting worse.
"Sapphire Asherah, Rosemary Silva, Terra Mina, Roux Moreau."
New and current students once again packed the amphitheater as the second set of new students went through their team formations. Everyone from teams RWBY, JNPR, and ALAN came along to see the new teams be formed. Excitement filled the room as Ozpin, taking the stage for a second time, read off the names of the new students as they stepped onto the stage.
"You four retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward you will be known as Team Rust, led by Roux Moreau."
Applause filled the room as the names and faces of Team RRST appeared on the holoprojector. The clapping wasn't helping my headache, which only seemed to get worse every minute. Even reading the names of the new team hurt. It got to the point where it was starting to distract me from the ceremony. I started massaging the sides of my head, hoping to ease the headache. Then I felt a nudge from someone's elbow against my arm. I looked up to see Lloyd looking at me.
"Headache still bothering you?" The sniper asked.
"Yeah, it's nothing serious." I replied.
"Rio Fons, Lincoln Kelly, Phoenix Bright, Princeton Ivy," Ozpin said as the next four students took the stage, "You four retrieved the black rook pieces. From this day forward you will be known as team Purple, led by Phoenix Bright."
I was looking at the names of the new students on the holoprojector when my vision blurred and I suddenly felt dizzy. My knees began to buckle and I stumbled back falling to the floor.
"Whoa! Ash!" Azura exclaimed, catching me by one arm as I fell. I reached out my free arm to soften my fall.
"Ash are you alright!?" Yang asked.
"What's going on?" Ruby asked.
"I don't know!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"We're taking him back to the dorm! Yang give me a hand!"
Azura and Yang lifted me up to my feet and put my arms over their shoulders, trying to walk back to the dorm. I tried the best I could to at least walk but suddenly felt as if I had no energy in my legs. My eyelids suddenly felt heavy and my ears started ringing before I passed out.
