Hey All,
Happy Monday. I have been reading Brettsy Fanfiction for weeks and have had this story in my head since the end of 8x 16 in the apartment with Stella, Kelly and Matt.
I am devastated we are getting a shortened season and I am hoping that we get some kind of Brettsy action before we don't know when they'll come back cause now they are saying this crap could last into the summer. But I know its for the best.
I don't know if I'll write more and its been years since I wrote fan fiction but I had to get this out of my head.
Hope you enjoy.
I also have read several stories describe Matt to smell like Sawdust, Smoke, and Soap and I love that description. So I used it. I hope no one minds.
Matt was hanging out with Stella and Kelly. They ate delicious steaks and talked and laughed and watched the Blackhawks game. Stella yawned. "I am fat and happy "she said patting her skinny belly. "I bet you have been hard to live with the past few days even though you never needed to diet." Stella punched Kelly's arm. "I was helping out the chief, and I'd do it again if I had to, but I sure hope I never have too." Kelly Laughed "Me too.
"I am going to head to bed" Matt got up and excused himself to the spare bedroom. "Goodnight." They both said as they went back to watching the game.
Matt laid down on his bed and pulled out his phone.
He had a text from Sylvie and one missed call. He read the text.
"Are you awake? I need to talk." Sent 15 mins ago ,
1 missed call. Sylvie Brett 8 mins ago.
He was about to call her back when he heard voices.
"Brett what are you doing here?" Kelly answered the door. "Is Matt home?"
"Yeah he's in his room, he just went to bed." Brett smiled at Kelly. "I'll go talk to him no need to interrupt your evening." She said and walked to Matt's room
Matt sat up on his bed. Sylvie was here coming to his room. He look around feeling like a teenage boy, checking for anything embarrassing.
She knocked "Matt?"
Matt got up and opened the door. "Sylvie. I was just about to call you back." She walked and he shut the door behind them.
"My mom's moving to Chicago." She sat down on his bed. Matt had a hard time with this. Yes she had sat on his bed in the firehouse before but this was different this was intimate this made him feel something he had been trying to hide. " Wow,that was fast. " He said "I know , it would be great to have her around. But to move her whole life so quickly we just met." All of a sudden Brett realized she was sitting on matts bed in his room. She looked around it was of course just the spare room in Severides loft, But she saw how matt had tried to make it his own. There was firefighting photos, a desk with a laptop and drawings where he must have worked on his construction business and a photo of his sister and niece; the room was neat but not to neat and smelled like him sawdust, smoke, and soap.
"You know if I know you, your going to help her find a great place and its all going to be fine." She smiled. "You really think so." He sat down next to her on the bed. "Of course." Matt knew she would be fine. He knew Sylvie Brett was the strongest, smartest, silliest person he had ever met. "You are the best Sylvie, and Julie knows it that's why she wants to be closer to you."
Brett looked him. She was gonna do it. She had too.
"You know its crazy. She asked me how long we have been dating."
Matt smiled. He didn't realize he had smiled but he did. "Why you smiling." He laughed " What did you tell her? "
"I said no that we were just good friends and co-workers."
His smile dropped "Oh"
Sylvie knew that they had progressed passed friends but neither one was ready to admit it. "I mean not that I don't think it would be great to say yes, you're an amazing guy and any girl who goes out with you is lucky." Matt looked at her this was his in. He leaned and kissed her. Sylvie was shocked at first but then went with it. Before she knew it they were making out on Matt's bed. She pulled away for a second. "Matt wait is this ok? Should we do this?" He smiled a smile he hadn't smiled in a long time." Sylvie Brett I have liked you for a while. I liked you back before you even got engaged to Kyle, you've been my best friend over the past year and a half when I needed it most. Now I want to be more than your best friend." Sylvie looked at him and kissed him deeply. "I want to be more than your best friend too."
