Earth 2
When he opened the door, Cisco Ramone didn't expect to see what he did.
Firstly, he'd have to fire his security staff because there should not have been anyone physically at his door without him knowing, although the immediate flick of a police badge pretty much told him what he needed to know.
"Detective," he recognized the woman from several months back, that whole debacle with that Flash. Boy was he glad they didn't have to deal with that on this Earth. "How can I help you?"
He made a gesture to let her pass, but as she did he caught a sight of her face- she looked stressed. As he closed the door he prepared himself for what type of inquiry she must have to look like that. He cleared his throat and escorted her to the couch in the lavish main room, taking a seat across from her.
She composed herself and looked at him sternly.
"Mr. Ramone, you are in the technology business, right?"
Was this lady for real? He was only the biggest name in technology products this side of the country. He smirked, hoping she wasn't being completely serious.
"You could say that."
Iris pensively bit her lip. What was she even going to ask him? It had only been about two hours since Barry disappeared, seemingly by the hands of some meta-human. Who was to say there was even a device that could help her in this situation? Panic lodged in her throat. No, she took a deep breath. What about the other Barry? What allowed him to come from his Earth to theirs? She knew the answer lied with this man. It had too.
Without missing a beat, Iris straightened. "What technology do you possess that can assist with the capture of meta-humans?"
Cisco furrowed his brow. While the CCPD dealt with more Metas than he ever had, they weren't too keen on sharing the cash cow that was arms dealing with an already unpopular millionaire. If it was tech she was looking for, she came to the right place, but she had no idea what it would cost her. Cisco crossed his legs and relaxed- an interrogation was stressful, but a negotiation he could deal with.
"So I see the CCPD has finally come around with the times. I happen to have a lot of nano-tech in the works for all your meta needs. But it's not going to be cheap ya' know."
He could see relief melt off the woman's face, and he almost felt sorry for her. Whatever she needed it for, he was going to make sure he came off on the winning side of this deal monetarily. Chances are, she couldn't afford him.
"What about tracking devices? I would need something that could find the location of the meta based on DNA residue-"
"W-Wait a second," Cisco waved his hands in front of him. Did she just say 'I'? There was no way he would just sell to this woman. He had nothing to gain from that, not the clientel of the CCPD that's for sure. "So you're not here for CCPD? Look lady, I don't do one door deals, so if that's your endgame-"
As he went to stand, he heard the cock of a gun, and felt the cold silencer on his chest. Hiding his panic, he looked at the woman; she seemed about as terrified as he was.
Her voice shook. "…Sit."
He did as he was told. Keeping his eyes on her, he could she was trembling by the way the gun shook. If he didn't know any better, he'd think she was about to cry. Iris scrambled to collect her thoughts. She told herself she wasn't going to mess up, and succumb to the fear that was enveloping her more by the second. But when she heard the reluctance- even denial- she was being given she couldn't help it. She had to get Barry back, and this was the only way she could.
With Cisco at attention, she spoke.
"My husband is gone," She didn't put the gun down lest he attempt to subdue her. "He was taken by a Meta, and I think it has something to do with the other version of him from that other Earth, The Flash." Recognition panned across Cisco's face. "I need to find him. You are going to help me." Beside herself tears began streaming down her cheeks, but she didn't lose her composure. From where he was sitting, Cisco truly believed she could blow his head off at the first wrong move.
Little did she know that she didn't need the gun to convince Cisco to help her. Ever since that happened, when The Flash came to their Earth, he hadn't been able to think of anything else. From the schematics of their tech that he compared with his version of himself to their abilities and that of their enemies, the whole thing had fascinated him to the point of dedicating his research to dissecting the entire situation. Which meant, by proxy, he knew exactly what Iris West-Allen was asking of him.
"You're trying to do what they did- get to another Earth."
Iris softened. "I don't know- maybe. All I know is that whatever took Barry isn't here. I have no other way of finding out where he is." She dropped the gun to her side, her arm limp. She chocked back a whimper. She really was losing. "Please help me."
