Ancient Secrets

Chapter 7

" Alright quiet down please! I know you have lots of questions but we need to give Silvina a chance to breathe okay? One at a time! " Emily spoke loudly as a hush fell over the sea of blue robes standing in the Medical Wing. " First things first. Silvina needs to meet the team members before we barrage her with questions. Come to the front please guys. "

As the crowd shuffled and moved, Professor Vissity worked her way to the door and left with a smile as six people stepped to the front. As Emily turned to face Silvina again, She spoke softly and introduced them. " So as you know I am the Captain of our team. Our team is currently an all girls team. The boys in our house are less inclined toward sports. I also play the position of Keeper. Our two beaters are... " Emily paused for a moment as an exasperated sigh escaped her lips. " The ever infamous and highly troublesome Astari twins. Diana and Maria. " Emily motioned toward two identical girls with bright blue eyes, Thier only differing feature being the colour of their short hair that spiked toward the back of their heads. Diana had neon pink hair while Maria had neon blue.

" Pleasure. Don't let our looks fool you. We beat bludgers better than the boys ever will. " Diana grinned widely as Maria spoke.

" Damn straight. Boys can't keep up with our mad skills. " Maria giggled happily before Emily continued.

" Biggest pair of punks in the school currently. But we love them all the same. This adorable menace to my immediate right is one of our chasers and my little sister. Her name is Lena. " Emily smiled as Lena nudged her arm. Lena had braided blonde hair and hazel eyes.

" Big sis speaks highly of your flying. I can't wait to see you in action. " Lena grinned playfully as Silvina giggled.

" Our other two chasers... " Emily stepped aside slightly as two girls appeared to start fighting with each other.

" Shut up you air head! I never miss a shot! " The first girl with pearl white skin, platinum white hair and red eyes pushed another girl playfully as she spoke.

" Oh don't you? How about that shot in training that hit me on the head?! " The second girl that had dark skin, strawberry blonde hair and green eyes glared toward the first.

" I didn't miss! Your head was a bigger target then the Quidditch hoop. I couldn't resist aiming at it deliberately! " The girl grinned impishly before Emily cleared her throat and the two fell silent.

" These two devils are our other two chasers. " Emily motioned a hand toward the girl with pale skin.

" This is Ashley Maiden. " Emily winced slightly as Ashley stared daggers into her back.

" I have repeatedly told you that I prefer to be called Ashe. " As Ashley glared, Her hair changed into a bright shade of scarlet before receding back to its normal silver as Emily spoke.

" I have to introduce you properly! Anyway... Ashe here is a Metamorphmagus." Emily smiled as Ashley giggled.

" Indeed. Born Meta and proud of it. I am usually quite popular at parties. " Ashley grinned and winked to Silvina, Who giggled before Emily continued.

" Last but not least, This is Miranda Wright. " Emily smiled as the last girl stepped forward.

" I look forward to flying with you Silvina. Emily has said good things about your skill. " Miranda smiled before the six of them stepped aside so others could ask questions.

" Okay, One at a time so we don't crowd her. " Emily smiled as several hands shot into the air. " Alright... You in the front go first. "

" Is it true that you use lightning magic? "

" Yes. My wand has Thunderbird Tail Feather as it's core. It allows me to produce lightning based spells and resulted in the creation of some personal spells that I demonstrated in the first duelling class. Next? " Silvina smiled softly as another student stepped forward.

" Is it true that your greatest fear is yourself? "

" That is correct. My magic is... Unpredictable. It can easily demolish buildings and is very dangerous when out of control. " Silvina sighed softly as a third student spoke.

" What is your necklace for? It has different things on it and I was wondering what each one does. "

" Professor Wolfe made it for me. She says that it will help keep me calm and help me handle my fears more easily. Each part of the necklace represents one of the spiritual kingdoms. " Silvina held the necklace up for a moment before another student spoke.

" Has your lightning ever hit you directly? "

" Once when I was little. I was trying to cast a charm and my wand was being a little... Obnoxious. It was a sharp jolt but didn't really hurt. " Silvina giggled softly at the memory of the first time her wand acted on it's own as Emily spoke.

" Alright guys one more before we leave Silvina to rest. You in the middle. Go ahead. " Emily smiled as the last student stepped forward.

" Is it true that your wand acts on it's own? It can cast spells without you? "

" Yes. Like when the bludgers hit me. My wand reacts to my thoughts and emotions, Which incidentally is another reason why my greatest fear is myself. The wrong thought, The wrong emotion can have devastating consequences. " Silvina again smiled softly before Emily ushered everyone out. Once the doors closed, Emily sat beside Silvina's bed.

" Sorry about that Silvina. They insisted on seeing you. " Emily smiled as Silvina giggled.

" No trouble. They were simply curious. " Silvina smiled brightly and Emily giggled as the door opened again as Layla and Aurora walked.

" I'll leave you to it. Catch you later? " Emily smiled happily as Silvina nodded before Emily stood and left the room, Walking past Aurora and Layla with a momentary glance in their direction.

As Layla and Aurora sat down, Layla leant forward and kissed Silvina softly before speaking.

" You have had a lot of visitors today. Who was that? " Layla had a look of curiosity in her eyes as Silvina explained.

" That is Emily Paige. Ravenclaw Prefect and Captain of the Quidditch team. She just invited me to join the team. " Silvina smiled as Aurora gasped and Layla smiled excitedly.

" Wow. That is so awesome! I can't wait to watch you play. " Layla blushed brightly as Aurora shook off her surprise and spoke softly.

" Layla and I will cheer for you Silvina. " Aurora grinned as Silvina blushed lightly.

" I would like that... My two favourite girls cheering for me... " Silvina blushed slightly brighter as Aurora placed a finger under her chin and kissed her seductively, Forcing a soft whimper to escape Silvina's lips.

" Watching our favourite girl playing quidditch... How can we not cheer? " Aurora giggled softly as Silvina blushed brightly.

" Aurora is right. It is gonna be so exciting watching you. " Layla smiled but shivered slightly. " And worrying... "

" I promise I will be okay Layla. I have total confidence that the Astari twins are the best beaters around. Besides, I know what it feels like to get hit by bludgers so I am going to actively avoid that... Again... " Silvina groaned softly as her ribs ached slightly.

" Has Madam Pompfrey told you when you can leave? " Aurora spoke nervously but smiled as Silvina replied.

" She wants me to stay in for a few more days to be sure but it looks like my ribs are nearly healed. It was kinda weird though. Her healing spells had no effect. Professor Patil had to make me a special potion to make the bones heal faster. They are concerned but have no idea why healing magic didn't work. " Silvina sighed exhaustively as Layla giggled softly.

" Just a special little bundle of mystery and intrigue aren't you? " Layla smiled as Silvina blushed lightly. After a few minutes, Layla and Aurora left the Medical Wing as Professor Wolfe walked in and sat beside Silvina's bed.

" I heard about the healing spell not doing anything. Your wand acted on it's own when you were hit? " Professor Wolfe had a serious expression on her face as Silvina nodded quietly. " I will look into this. I am sure it has something to do with the spell your wand cast. In the meantime, I brought you some herbal tea. " Professor Wolfe smiled as Silvina's face lit up with excitement. After pouring the tea into two cups, Professor Wolfe handed a cup to Silvina, Who immediately took a sip and sighed happily.

" I really need to get a tea set for my dormitory... " Silvina giggled softly before Professor Wolfe replied.

" I am sure your room mates wouldn't mind. You could have tea parties with your friends. " Professor Wolfe chuckled softly as Silvina smiled and nodded.

" I would like that. I have a question Wolfe... About... About my wand... " Silvina sipped the last of her tea as she looked toward Wolfe before she continued. " Why does it react to me? Why does it act on it's own? "

" Hard to say. Your wand is one of a kind and made using the two most difficult wand materials available. The potential and limits that your wand has are... Well impossible to predict. I will find out everything I can about it but it may boil down to your wand being as special as you are. " Professor Wolfe smiled as she set down her empty cup.

" Maybe... Thank you Wolfe. " Silvina smiled happily as Professor Wolfe tousled her hair gently before picking up the two empty cups and leaving the room.

As Silvina sat in the quiet Medical Wing, She thought about her wand. As she thought about it, Her wand floated out of the pocket of her robes hanging nearby and floated over to her, Slowly twirling in the air in front of her. As she reached out and took it, Silvina's head ached as a deep, Bone rattling voice filled her ears.

" There you are child... "

" What... Who... " Silvina let go of her wand quickly and it fell onto the bed softly as Silvina rubbed her head tenderly. " What the hell... "

" I was hoping you would never hear that voice. " Professor Vissity spoke with a sad voice from the doorway as Silvina looked toward her.

" Mom... Who was that? " Silvina spoke shakily as Professor Vissity sat on the edge of her bed.

" His name is Ghislaine. Ghislaine Constantine. He... He is your father Silvina and is a very powerful Vampire. He is what you might call an Ancient Vampire. He has lived for thousands of years. When I met him, He appeared to be a young man. Roguishly handsome and enchantingly charming. I spent many years by his side... Until he told me what he was planning. He only kept me alive because I was pregnant. He wanted a half vampire child. He planned on experimenting on the child. I... I fled after that. That was when I went to Australia. You were born shortly after I arrived there. But he found us. That was when we moved to America. The accident when your wand protected you... It was him. He was the man pointing a wand at you. I can't believe that sunlight doesn't effect him... He has become much more dangerous. And now he knows where you are. " Professor Vissity sighed sadly as Silvina tried to process what she had been told.

" But... Why? Why am I so important? " Silvina looked toward Professor Vissity with confusion in her eyes.

" Because you are immortal sweetheart. You are human, But you have the blood of a Vampire running through you. An immortal human. Considering the experiments he wanted to do... He could very easily make Vampires the dominant species on this planet. You are the key to his plan to make Vampires rule this world and enslave humans. Using you as the foundation, He would experiment on you, Turning you into a monster that would drown this world in blood. " Professor Vissity cried softly as the thought filled her mind. " I can't bear that Silvina. I can't allow him to take you away... "

" I have no intentions of becoming an experiment for his use. " Silvina sighed softly as Professor Vissity hugged her gently.

" He is very powerful Silvina. His vampiric abilities make him very difficult to handle. I barely managed to escape him when I fled. " Professor Vissity spoke sadly as Silvina sighed.

" I am not exactly helpless mom. I have friends to help me and my magic isn't exactly weak. I can protect myself now. And I have you. You know him better than anyone. Together we can figure out what to do. " Silvina smiled before leaning forward and hugging Professor Vissity tenderly as she spoke.

" You are right sweety. We will figure it out. " Professor Vissity held Silvina lovingly as she continued. " Get some rest sweetheart. We can talk more later. "

Silvina nodded before laying back on her pillow as Professor Vissity walked out of the Medical Wing. As she left, She was startled by Headmistress McGonagall's voice.

" It seems you and I need to have a more in depth discussion about Silvina. Meet me in my office at your earliest convenience please. " Headmistress McGonagall spoke sternly before walking down the corridor as Professor Vissity sighed softly.

The Next Day

Silvina yawned as she woke up and stretched slowly. After a moment, Silvina sighed as the sunlight shone through the window, A gentle warmth tingling her skin. " How could anyone live without this... I would hate to never walk in sunlight... "

" A good question... "The deep voice seemed to be everywhere before a tall man with blood red eyes and combed back, Black hair stepped out of a shadowy corner of the room. " I believe that for some, The choice is of little consequence. Ah... Where are my manners... My name is... "

" I know who you are. Dispense the pleasant talk. What do you want? " Silvina sat up and glared sternly toward her father with a look of impatience.

" Straight to the point. I like that. You are what I want daughter. You belong to me. " Ghislaine spoke coolly before Silvina pointed her wand at him with ferocity in her eyes. Ghislaine froze as his gaze fell upon her wand. " Insolent girl. You dare threaten your father?! "

" Get out. " Silvina spoke sternly and maintained her fierce gaze as lightning crackled from the tip of her wand. " And never come back. "

" Or you will what? Kill me? Do not be so naive. " Ghislaine stepped forward but once again froze as a bolt of lightning struck the ground at his feet, Sending an echoing thunderclap through the hallways.

" Last chance. " Silvina swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood slowly as Ghislaine smirked and stepped forward with an inhuman speed. As he motioned to seize Silvina's arm, Lightning erupted from her wand and threw him across the room, Slamming him into the far wall of the Medical Wing as Silvina spoke. " Ira Procellus! "

Ghislaine's eyes went wide as lightning surged around Silvina and her eyes glowed a bright white before a massive arc of dozens of lightning bolts exploded toward him in the blink of an eye, Slamming into him and burning holes through his body before he yelled in pain and vanished in a burst of black mist.

After a moment, The door of the Medical Wing burst open before Aurora, Layla, Professor Vissity, Professor Wolfe and Headmistress McGonagall rushed into the room in time to see the white glow fade from Silvina's eyes as she collapsed.

A Few Days Later

Silvina awoke slowly and groaned as her muscles ached. As she sat up, Silvina sighed softly when she noticed the multiple scorch marks on the wall and floor where her father had stood. " Jackass. Thinks he can just walk in here and act all high and mighty. "

Silvina changed into her robes and tenderly walked out of the Medical Wing before walking to the courtyard to soak up some sunlight.

Meanwhile

" THAT INSOLENT BRAT! HOW DARE SHE ATTACK ME! " Ghislaine's voice echoed through the room of his residence as his servants cowered in fear. " HOW DARE SHE DO THIS TO ME! "

" M... Master please... I need you to hold still... " A young servant spoke shakily before Ghislaine's gaze turned toward her with a smouldering intensity.

" Silence. Do your job or get out and I will find someone else. " Ghislaine grimaced as the servant continued removing the torn stitches from the wound Silvina's lightning had caused before carefully restitching the wound and wrapping a fresh bandage around it as a second voice echoed through the room.

" You brought this upon yourself. I told you she would harm you if you went to her. Maybe next time you won't disregard my advice. " The voice was old and rattling but full of disdain as Ghislaine rounded on him and spoke menacingly.

" Hold your tongue you wrinkled old relic. I will do as I please. " Ghislaine groaned as the old man huffed and walked away.

Hogwarts

Silvina was sitting in the courtyard letting the warm sunlight soak into her skin as Aurora and Layla sat beside her.

" That was really reckless Silvina. Why did you use such a dangerous spell? " Layla spoke nervously as she wrapped her arms around Silvina gently.

' It was the first spell that popped into my head. Plus it was the only spell I currently know that might hurt him. " Silvina smiled but sighed as Aurora and Layla pouted at her. " Alright I know... You don't have to pout at me like that. I get it. Dangerous magic, Could have hurt myself, Could have damaged the school. Please don't guilt trip me... I am having a hard enough time of this as it is. "

" We won't guilt trip you Silvina. We just want you to understand why we are disappointed... And worried. " Aurora spoke calmly before kissing Silvina's cheek gently and walking back toward the Great Hall as Layla spoke.

" Do you understand Silvina? " Layla looked at Silvina with a nervous and worried expression before Silvina sighed softly and turned to look at her.

" No I don't. I defended myself with what I had on hand. It just so happens that what I had on hand was dangerous. So no. No I do not understand. " Silvina looked into Layla's eyes with a stern but sad expression as Layla sighed softly.

" I hope one day you will. Seeing you like that was scary. I love you Silvina... But I need you to understand how worried and scared I am for you. " Layla sighed softly as Silvina turned away slowly before standing up and walking into the Great Hall with a sad look on her face as Silvina sat down and buried her face in her hands.

As she sat in the courtyard, Silvina felt anger well up inside her. As she stood and screamed, Her wand flew out of her robes and erupted into lightning. After a few moments, Silvina stopped screaming but lightning continued arching around her as the doors to the castle opened and a group of the teachers walked out. As they stopped in their tracks and watched, Silvina took hold of her wand and pointed it toward the nearby forest, Causing several trees to explode in a shower of splinters before a bright, Fiery orange beam fired out of the end of her wand, Scorching the ground along the bridge before Silvina pointed her wand at the sky and her Firebolt flew down to her. After mounting her broom, Silvina took off and dropped out of sight as she flew over the edge of the bridge and vanished into the mist below.

The last sight of Silvina was the water of the lake spraying behind her as she flew along its calm surface.

A Few Hours Later

After a few hours of flying, Silvina set her broom aside and sat down as tears stained her cheeks. As Silvina sat in silence, Her wand hovered in front of her, Twirling slowly in the air as she watched it.

After several minutes, Silvina gripped her wand and closed her eyes. As she breathed slowly, She felt the energy in the air around her. As if thousands of microscopic lightnings bolts were freely running through the air. As she took a deep breathe, The energy seemed to rush into her, Filling Silvina with a tingling sensation.

As the tingling spread throughout her body, Silvina felt her wand vibrate in her hand and opened her eyes rapidly before pointing her wand at the sky causing a massive bolt of lightning to fall from the sky and slam into the tip of her wand before an explosion of lightning erupted out of her in an expanding dome of energy, Reducing all it touched to ash and scorching the ground as it passed. When the dome disappeared, Silvina looked around slowly, Realising that there was now a burnt, Completely open, One hundred metre round space where her magic had touched. As Silvina calmed down, She heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Layla flying toward her. As Layla landed, She dropped her broom and ran toward Silvina before wrapping her in a tight hug. " Silvina... Don't scare me like that... "

" I didn't mean to scare you Layla but I just... I... " Silvina sighed loudly and turned away slowly before Layla caught her arm and spoke softly.

" I know. Believe me I really do. But running off like that has everyone in a panic. " Layla spoke softly as Silvina rested her head on Layla's shoulder.

" I didn't mean to make everyone worry. I just needed some space. " Silvina sighed softly as Layla wrapped her arms around her and held her lovingly.

" Clearly. Remind me never to get on your bad side. " Layla giggled softly as Silvina smiled and kissed her cheek lovingly. After a moment, Layla stepped back a bit and spoke again. " Do you want to fly back with me or do you need some time? "

" I really do need time but... I should go back. Everyone is panicking enough already. Plus I don't want to miss Quidditch practice. I am so excited to join the team and the girls are all really nice. " Silvina giggled and smiled happily before Layla sighed cutely and kissed Silvina's cheek gently.

" I knew the girl I fell in love with was in there somewhere under all the doom and gloom. " Layla smiled cheekily as Silvina pouted irritably.

" I just found out that my father is a vampire that wants to experiment on me and use me for world domination. I think the doom and gloom is kinda warranted. " Silvina huffed sadly as Layla picked up her broom before picking up Silvina's and handing it to her.

" Maybe. But I am so not letting you stay all doom and gloom. I came to be here for you and to help cheer you up. " Layla smirked as Silvina looked toward her sadly.

" How do you plan on doi... " Silvina gasped loudly as Layla pulled her forward roughly and kissed her desperately.

After several minutes, Layla stepped back and blushed brightly. " Come on. Tell me that didn't make you feel better. " Layla giggled as Silvina bit her lip nervously.

" Y... Yes it did make me feel better actually. Much better. " Silvina smiled brightly before mounting her broom and taking off with Layla close behind. After a few hours of flying, They saw the Hogwarts Castle ahead. As they flew over the lake, Silvina smirked and glanced at Layla.

" Watch this! " Silvina smiled before rocketing upward toward the grey clouds blanketing the sky. As she flew toward them, Lightning rippled across them before exploding toward Silvina as she stopped flying upward and put her hand into the air. Layla watched in terror for a moment before she calmed as she realised what was happening.

The lightning was swirling and forming into a small ball in Silvina's hand. As she closed her fist, The lightning exploded into a shock wave that pushed the clouds away from her, Forming a clean circle around her as she hovered in place. After a few moments, The clouds began filling the circle of clear sky as Silvina rocketed back to Layla's side and smiled playfully as Layla spoke.

" How did you do that? " Layla spoke softly with a hint of surprise in her voice before Silvina giggled and responded.

" Actually I am not entirely sure. Since I fought my father... I don't know... My magic feels different. It feels like there is lightning through my whole body and it is bursting to get out... I don't really know how to explain it... Maybe mum knows. " Silvina smiled happily as Layla nodded and they continued toward the castle, Landing in the courtyard a few moments later.

As they dismounted, The main doors of the castle opened and Professor Vissity ran out and enveloped Silvina in a tight hug. " I was so worried! What were you thinking just running off like that?! "

" I didn't mean to worry you mum... But can you let me go... You are cutting off my air supply... " Silvina spoke softly before Professor Vissity gasped and let her go.

" Sorry sweety... I was just so worried. I thought something happened to you... " Professor Vissity smiled before Silvina sighed nervously.

" Something... Kinda did. " Silvina raised her hands slowly and Professor Vissity gasped as lightning slowly rippled along Silvina's fingers.

" You... You finally awakened... " Professor Vissity smiled brightly as her eyes filled with tears. " I can finally tell you... "

" Tell me what mum? " Silvina had a mix of confusion and fear on her face but sighed in wonder as her mother held up her hands and lightning arced between her fingers and rippled across the palms of her hands slowly.

" Tell you who you really are. Why you have such a high affinity for lightning magic and tell you why your wand reacts to you. " Professor Vissity smiled before breathing out slowly and placing her hands together. As she pulled her hands apart, Lightning arced between them as if it were connected to her hands as she spoke softly. " I have spent most of my life learning lightning magic. Among wizards and witches, There are those of us who only study a certain element. We are called Elementals. Among the Elementals, There are witches and wizards that study their element so much that it becomes a part of them. In my case, I studied lightning so much for so long that it is now part of my body. Lightning courses through the very fibres of my DNA. When I became pregnant, The lightning in my genetics was passed down to my daughter, Who has finally awakened her dormant elemental connection. " Professor Vissity smiled as she hugged Silvina tenderly. " I am so proud of you sweetheart. "

" So you are saying that I just have more skill when I use lightning magic? " Silvina sounded confused and stepped back slightly as Professor Vissity giggled softly and let go of her.

" Not just more skill. Lightning is part of you. With practice, You will be able to use lightning magic without a wand. You will be drawn toward lightning storms and sources of electrical power. Eventually, Like me, You will be able to absorb, Manipulate, Control and create lightning. It will take a lot of practice however. " Professor Vissity smiled as Silvina's jaw slowly dropped. As Silvina stood in shock, Professor Wolfe walked over and spoke softly.

" Which is why your wand reacts to you. Your lightning is connecting to the energy in your wands core. Your wand answers your will even when you don't understand what your will is. Your wand is not just a tool. It Is an extension of who you are. A part of you. Like an arm or leg. " Professor Wolfe spoke calmly and smiled before Silvina's shock wore off and she spoke calmly.

" That explains so many things... " Silvina rubbed her temples gently as Professor Vissity spoke.

" It should. Every time you were nearby when electricity failed or machines randomly turned on or off, Every time a power surge happened when you were little, That time in the tool shop in London when all the power tools started working even though they weren't plugged in. That actually had the muggles in uproar for weeks... " Professor Vissity giggled softly as Layla spoke.

" It also explains why your kisses feel like getting zapped when your wearing a fluffy coat and touch something metal. " Layla giggled softly as Silvina looked toward her with shock on her face.

" I didn't mean to... " Silvina looked nervously toward Professor Vissity, Who smiled and spoke calmly.

" It is alright sweety. Your magic was overflowing because you hadn't awakened. Now that you have, Your magic will quickly level out. " Professor Vissity smiled brightly before hugging Silvina lovingly.

" This is so much to take in... I think I need a timeout. " Silvina giggled before walking through the doors of the castle and toward the Ravenclaw common room as everyone else walked back into the Great Hall.

New developments and answers that Silvina desperately needed.

What awaits now that Silvina knows who she is and the extent of her power?
