Burning Shadows
Chapter 11
After two weeks of studying the history and records of Orgus Din, All preparations were ready.
" So Orgus was born on Rishi and trained to be a Jedi. He was a part of the twenty four year war and has ties to Republic Special Forces. Turned the Empire back on Karideph. He was also present for the Sacking of Coruscant. Engaged the Sith Lord Darth Angral in combat before realising that the Jedi Temple was collapsing. That's where his Padawan died. Other than that his military records are pretty limited at the moment. " Shae Vizla was speaking calmly as she recounted the military records for Orgus Din.
" His Jedi records are more or less the same. The only difference is the list of Jedi he has trained over the years. Other than that his records are... really underwhelming. " Aratarus spoke bluntly before Satele Shan spoke up.
" Orgus has been more of an advisory figure since Coruscant. The loss of his padawan changed him. " Satele Shan spoke softly. " At first he was just distant. But over time he began arguing Council decisions with us and blatantly refused to train any padawan's. He eventually started to refuse missions and stayed in the temple for years. "
As Satele Shan finished speaking, Kalina spoke up.
" So the new toys are in place right? Everything is set? " Kalina spoke before Aratarus answered.
" Yeah. Mako set up the majority and I laid out the others. We are as ready as we can be. " Aratarus spoke bluntly as Mako rushed into the room.
" I just heard a broadcast from a nearby Imperial outpost. A Jedi just turned up and demolished the Imperial detachment posted there. " Mako looked alarmingly at Aratarus as he spoke.
" Good chance it's Orgus. Get the ship ready. We will do a flyby and scope out the damage. " Aratarus walked out of the room as Mako returned to the ship.
As Aratarus's ship took off, Kalina walked over to the entrance of the cavern where Zanira was meditating. " You.. You can't sense Kaya can you? "
Zanira sighed softly. " No. No I cannot. I have meditated over and over to try and isolate her signature from the rest of the energy down there but... "
" But there is too much down there. Without a Force Bond.. " Kalina spoke softy.
" It is... Impossible to determine exactly what is down there. " Zanira spoke sadly as Yumitaya knelt next to her and closed her eyes.
" She is there mom. She is training so hard and pushing herself to her limit every day. I can feel her exhaustion and her determination. She has so many feelings and emotions flowing through her that it's almost like she isn't trying to control them at all. But she is definitely down there. " Yumitaya opened her eyes slowly as Zanira spoke.
" Are you okay Taya? The bond isn't overwhelming you? " Zanira placed a hand on Taya's forehead gently as she spoke.
" No. I'm ok. Satele taught me how to control the flow from my end until Kaya comes back." Yumitaya smiled calmly as Zanira smiled.
Caverns
" Very good. Very good indeed. Your form is excellent. You have learned all but three of the lightsabre forms we can teach you. The forms left to learn are Juyo, Niman and Ataru. Seeing how quickly you are learning the forms, We decided to teach you Ataru next. It is an aggressive form. Although your mastery of Sokan is coming along quite wonderfully, We are unsure if it will be as versatile as we want it to be. Thus teaching you every form will allow you to favour Sokan but also change forms as needed. Now as with the other forms. Copy the movements of the apparition and learn. We will check on you soon. "
Yumikaya nodded before igniting her lightsabre and copying the movements of the apparition before her. Each movement was aggressive yet graceful. After endless hours practising Sokan, Yumikaya felt that Ataru just wasn't suited to her. It felt too angry. Too overpowering whereas Sokan felt fluid, agile and calm. Nevertheless, Yumikaya continued to learn the form as the apparition continued to demonstrate the movements and stances of Ataru.
After several hours of practice, Yumikaya had learned all the movements of Ataru. While not being a form she wanted to use, Learning it was still important. After several more hours passed, The force apparition dissipated as Yumikaya fell to her knees.
" You push yourself to your limit every time you train little one. Your determination is admirable. "
" But determination won't be enough to bring balance... will it? " Yumikaya spoke softly as she breathed heavily.
" Indeed but those are not answers we can give you. You must discover on your own what it takes to create change. "
" But I don't want to be alone... " Yumikaya spoke softly as she finally caught her breathe.
" Being alone and discovering something on your own are not the same thing little one. You don't have to be alone to discover something on your own. But the answers you seek cannot be found in the galaxy. They must be found within. "
" Then I will search every piece of my soul until I find them... But first I need to complete my trai... What was that? " Yumikaya stopped as a ripple in the Force echoed from the entrance of the cavern.
" Someone is trying to breach the cavern Priestesses. " The soft feminine voice echoed through the cavern slowly before the priestesses spoke.
" It seems that your training is about to be tested. Let us see what you can do with a little freedom young one. Do not hold back. Your life may depend on it. "
" I will not let you down Priestesses. I promise I will return when this is dealt with. " Yumikaya bowed politely before walking tenderly towards the entrance.
As Yumikaya disappeared into the tunnels, The soft female voice spoke.
" She is exhausted. Will this course of action not cause more damage? "
" It might. But only she can deal with this. This is as much a test as a distraction. Let us see if she can control her own power. "
" Or will it overwhelm her? "
" Corrupt her? "
" Destroy her? "
" No. She will not succumb. We have seen that much already.. She is in control. But now we shall see if she can control it in stressful situations. "
Entrance
" You cannot do this.. She is not yours to take Orgus... " Zanira spoke tiredly as Orgus walked to the entrance where a pair of pirate leaders were waiting.
" You cannot keep her from me. I will return her to where she belongs. And you cannot stop me. " Orgus spoke confidently before the sound of choking filled his ears from the entrance of the cavern.
" But I can Master. You will not be taking me anywhere. " Yumikaya stood in the doorway of the tunnel and spoke forcefully as the pirates fell to they're knees coughing heavily. " This does not have to end in violence and bloodshed. Please surrender. "
" I will not. And you WILL be coming with me whether you want to or not. " Orgus Din ignited his lightsabre as his eyes turned a bright shade of orange-ish yellow.
" I'm afraid not. My training is not complete yet. " Yumikaya spoke calmly as Orgus Din lunged forward.
" Then you are no match for me! " Orgus yelled loudly as Yumikaya smiled.
As Orgus Din lunged forward, Yumikaya's marks began to glow. As the world around her slowed to a stand still, Yumikaya raised her hand.
Orgus Din flew backward and landed heavily in the soft snow before sliding a few feet backwards as Yumikaya spoke softly.
" You gravely misunderstand Master. My training may be incomplete but that does not mean that I am no match for a Jedi Master. Now I will ask you again. Please surrender. " Yumikaya spoke calmly as she entered the Sokan ready stance with her lightsabre deactivated.
" I will not. And what is this? You expect to fight me on your knees? " Orgus Din laughed hysterically as Yumikaya stood and entered her combat stance.
" Indeed not. What is this? This is my combat style. One that the Jedi and Sith have both forgotten. Please do not make me fight you. This can end peacefully. " Yumikaya spoke calmly yet again as Orgus laughed.
" Peace is a lie. " Orgus almost whispered the first line of the Sith code before lunging forward again. The moment he moved, Yumikaya was gone.
" I gave you a chance to surrender and yet you would prefer bloodshed? No wonder everything is out of balance. " Yumikaya was standing in combat stance but was standing next to her Flash-Fire fighter. As Orgus moved again, Again Yumikaya was gone.
" Last chance Master. Surrender. I am wasting time here when I could be completing my training. " Yumikaya spoke calmly one final time as Orgus screamed in frustration.
" The only surrender will be yours! " Orgus charged again but this time Yumikaya didn't move. As Orgus reached Yumikaya, She ignited her lightsabre and quickly dodged the attack. Yumikaya rolled sideways before jumping to a nearby boulder and pushing off it. As she flipped over Orgus Din, Yumikaya a long sweeping slash downwards towards Orgus Din's shoulder.
As Orgus Din blocked the strike, Yumikaya landed and Force pushed Orgus Din backwards. Orgus flew backwards for several feet before landing in the snow. As he stood up slowly, Orgus heard a loud screeching noise coming from several directions and fell to his knees in agony as he covered his ears. Once the noise had stopped, Orgus Din looked up slowly.
" You killed one of your fellow Jedi Masters and his padawan. Why? " Yumikaya spoke softly and looked down at Orgus Din with sadness in her eyes as her lightsabre deactivated.
" They were weak. They could not see the threat that YOU pose to the Jedi. That is why I killed them. They were blinded. " Orgus Din finished speaking as five figures appeared out of the tunnel.
" Blinded? The only one blinded here is you Master Orgus Din. The Jedi Council were correct when they told you that Yumikaya is out of your jurisdiction. "
" And in your blind rage you have unbalanced the Jedi. You have taken life where no life needed to be taken. "
" Balance is required. "
" Life for life. Balance. " Yumikaya spoke softly as she ignited her lightsabre.
" Life for life. Restore the balance young one. "
" Balance. " Yumikaya sighed softly as her lightsabre pierced Orgus Din's chest.
As Yumikaya withdrew her blade and Orgus Din's lifeless body fell, A sighed mix of pain, relief, remorse and pity escaped Satele Shan's lips.
" Well done. Now return to the cavern so your training can continue. "
As Yumikaya deactivated her lightsabre and motioned to walk back into the tunnel, Zanira spoke.
" Kaya wait! The pirates... They took Taya. They used gas to keep Satele , Kalina and I under control. There was nothing we could do. " Zanira tried to stand as Yumikaya turned to the priestesses.
" See to your sister. We will await you in the cavern. "
" Where did they take her? " Yumikaya spoke with deep concern in her voice as she turned back to Zanira.
" To the starship graveyard. It's north of here. They haven't contacted us or demanded anything. " Zanira coughed heavily as Yumikaya climbed into her fighter and powered it up before taking off.
Starship Graveyard
As Yumikaya landed her fighter, A group of pirates were waiting for her. Upon climbing out of the cockpit, Yumikaya noticed they were aiming blasters at her.
Yumitaya ignited her lightsabre as one of the pirates spoke. " If you want the girl back you will come with us. Peacefully. "
Yumikaya sighed and deactivated her lightsabre. " Fine. But if she is harmed in any way I promise you there is no power in this galaxy that will protect you from me. Take me to her. NOW. "
The pirates stood motionless for a moment before another spoke. " HA! She sounds just like the Captain. Take her to the girl. Make it quick too, Captain wants to speak to her. "
The pirates all chuckled before one of them gestured to Yumikaya to follow him. Yumikaya walked cautiously as the pirate lead her into the wreckage of a massive starship. The further they walked, The more Yumikaya noticed that pieces of the ship's infrastructure were missing.
Meanwhile
" Why would Orgus do this... Why? " Satele Shan was clearly upset that Orgus Din had betrayed the Jedi.
" Perhaps he was influenced. I'll return to the ship and search his quarters. Maybe he has something on him? " Shae Vizla spoke softly before walking back to Aratarus's ship with Mako and Aratarus.
" Influenced... Could he have spoken to someone from the Empire? " Satele Shan spoke softly as she looked to Zanira.
" We don't know what Orgus was up to while he was locked away in his room on the starship. Perhaps Shae will find something. " Zanira placed a hand on Satele Shan's shoulder gently as Aratarus's ship took off and headed back into orbit.
Starship Graveyard
" Why is this ship being taken apart? Wouldn't it be better to try and fix it? " Yumikaya spoke calmly before the pirate she was following explained the situation.
" Normally yes. But the Captain told us that the ship was beyond repair and to salvage anything that was usable for something important. No one has ever questioned the Captain. She doesn't just demand loyalty like our last few leaders. She earned our unwavering loyalty through years of hardship and countless actions that saved more than half of us several times. What she says, We do. Without hesitation or question. There are only a few of our pirate group that want to go off alone and make they're own gang. The rest of us are unwaveringly loyal to our Captain. " The pirate spoke confidentially and honestly as Yumikaya thought who might be leading these pirates.
" So your being lead by a woman? " Yumikaya spoke curiously before the pirate suddenly stopped walking and turned to face her.
" Our Captain is more than just some woman! Before she challenged our old leaders to single combat for control of our pirate outfit, She was a legendary smuggler that flew as a privateer for the Republic. She delivered relief supplies and weapons for rebellion to countless worlds. Flying head on into combat zones without fear or thought for her own safety. She is no mere woman. Our Captain is one of a kind and is the most fearless, courageous and loyal woman we have ever had the fortune of working with. " The pirate beamed proudly as he spoke and Yumikaya smiled slightly before they continued walking.
After roughly half an hour, They approached a large blast door that looked like it was made to keep people out. The pirate walked up to the door as a blue beam of light scanned him and a mechanical voice echoed into the hallway. " Identity confirmed. Access permitted. "
As the door opened, Yumikaya saw her sister at the far end of the room talking to a slender young woman adorned in black clothing that was reinforced with blood red padded leather and decorated with several shiny armour plates. She wore a wide brim hat and had two very heavily customised blasters holstered on her waist and another three of the same modified blasters strapped to her chest. As she stood, Yumitaya noticed that Yumikaya had arrived and called out to her.
" Kaya! Finally. This lady says she knows you! Get over here! " Yumitaya waved happily as Yumikaya ran over to her and looked up at the woman to see a familiar face from her childhood.
" Heya kiddo! " The woman smiled brightly as Yumikaya tackled her happily and hugged her.
" Sera! It's so good to see you! " Yumikaya laughed happily as Seranya hugged her back lovingly.
" It's good to see you too little Kaya. It has been years. Look how big you have grown! And I absolutely adore your hair and outfit sweety. " Seranya beamed proudly as Yumikaya laughed and twirled to show off her outfit. After a moment, Yumikaya stopped twirling and spoke curiously.
" It is amazing to see you again Sera but why are you on Ilum? The man that brought me to you said that you challenged they're leaders to combat for control of the pirates. Why? " Yumikaya tilted her head slightly as Yumitaya moved to stand next to her.
" Well actually I crashed here after the imps caught up with me on Corellia. I took some damage as I entered hyperspace and couldn't control the ship when I dropped out of hyperspace. The problem was that my ship crashed into the pirate's territory so they captured me and stripped my ship for parts. With no way off Ilum, I decided to break out and take control if I could. I managed to kill the tyrannical moron that was leading these guys before and ever since we have been stripping this old republic battlecruiser for parts for an ancient warship we found. " Seranya smiled as Yumikaya nodded intently.
" But then why were your pirates with Orgus Din? " Yumikaya spoke confusedly.
" I owed him a favour. Didn't know he was gonna try and take you away though. If I knew that I'd have shot him here before he left with my men. " Seranya seemed thoroughly agitated.
" I see. So until the ancient warship is fixed none of you can leave. How old is the warship? " Yumikaya asked curiously as Yumitaya sat down calmly.
" Few hundred years. The engineers in my crew tell me that it was a prototype warship designed by the republic but it was stolen by Mandalorian's. It's apparently the only one that was built. " Seranya smiled as motioned for one of her guards. " These girls must be hungry. Let's have us a banquet shall we? Round up the boys and tell them they have the day off to party. "
The pirate nodded before walking towards the ship intercom and relaying the message to the crew. After a joyous shout of approval echoed throughout the shipwreck, Seranya stood and walked with Kaya and Taya to where they would eat. As they walked Seranya spoke softly. " Don't mind these boys. They like to party hard but they are an amazing crew. I'd take a blaster shot for any one of them. "
In Orbit
" Find anything in there? " Mako spoke calmly as Shae Vizla stepped out of Orgus Din's room quickly and sealed the door with a look of terror on her face. " I don't know what the hell it is but it's evil. Contact Zanira. She will know what that thing is.. "
Mako quickly ran to the communications room with Shae Vizla in tow. As the holocall answered, Zanira spoke calmly.
" Ah Shae and Mako. Have you discovered anything? " Zanira spoke calmly before Shae Vizla spoke.
Shae Vizla had fear and concern etched throughout her voice as she spoke. " Oh I found something alright. A little glowing triangle that spoke when I touched it. "
Zanira's eyes lit up as she spoke. " A Sith holocron! Where would Orgus have gotten that? Do not touch it again and don't let anyone near it. I will be there soon. "
As the holocall ended, Shae Vizla looked to Mako slowly. " Sith holocron... That beastly little triangle is a Sith holocron? Where the hell did Orgus get it? "
Mako shook her head as Aratarus spoke from the doorway. " There was a record of one being stored at the Coruscant Jedi Temple. It is possible that Orgus took it when the temple was destroyed or that someone else took it and Orgus retrieved it. Either way it clearly influenced him. "
After a few moments, Larkan ran into the room and spoke quickly. " We just got pinged by an ID signature. It's a starship but it's coming from within Ilum. "
" From WITHIN the planet? A starship? What was the ID signature? " Aratarus spoke with surprise in his voice before Larkan spoke again.
" Didn't give a ship name. The ID simply said Star Dreadnought. " Larkan spoke softly as he finally caught his breathe.
" Star... No it can't be! " Shae Vizla had a look of pure terror on her face as memories of stories from her childhood flashed through her mind. " The Naastar Be Tyatr.. It's...It's real..."
" The Naastar Be Tyatr? What's that? " Mako spoke softly as Shae Vizla slowly regained her composure.
" It was a prototype warship beyond anything the galaxy has ever faced. It's massive. And it has the most powerful armaments and technology the old clans could get. If it really is here... No. I am not worthy of it. But I know someone who might be. " Shae Vizla smiled slightly as she looked out of the view port to the icy planet below.
The Next Day
" Mmm.. Kaya my head hurts.. " Yumitaya tenderly rubbed her head as she woke up slowly.
" You slipped and bumped your head last night of course it hurts silly. " Yumikaya smiled brightly before kissing the sore spot on her sisters head gently.
" Thanks big sis. It feels better already! " Yumitaya smiled happily as she hugged Yumikaya.
The two smiled happily as Seranya walked in. " Oh good morning you two. Sleep well? "
" Yeah it was alright. " Yumikaya smiled as Yumitaya stretched slowly.
" Good. Because it's time for you to go back. Your mother is more than likely worried sick. " Seranya smiled as the two girls got dressed.
Yumikaya smiled for a moment before speaking in confusion. " We can't both fit into my fighter. How is Taya gonna get there? "
" I am so glad you asked. She will be taking the fighter the old leader used to fly. I don't need it nor do my boys so it's all yours Taya. But I think I will fly it home unless you already know how to fly? " Seranya smiled as Yumitaya scoffed playfully.
" Actually I do know how to fly. What model of starship is it? " Yumitaya glowed with excitement as Seranya described the fighter.
" It's a modified FT-7B Clarion. It is armed with quad laser cannons and thermite torpedoes. It has a Hyperdrive, Long range communication capability, Heavy Durasteel armour plating, Sensor dampeners, Inbuilt repair probe production and deployment, A high capacity shield projector and has a modified interdiction drive powering the engines. " Seranya giggled as Yumitaya's eyes widened happily.
" Awesome! Can I see it? " Yumitaya jumped up and down excitedly as Seranya spoke.
" Of course. Follow me. " Seranya smiled as she lead the two girls back to the entrance. " We moved it out next to Kaya's ship while you slept. I hope you like the colour. The old leader was... Eccentric. "
As the doors opened, Yumitaya saw the FT-7B Clarion in it's pearl white paint job with amethyst stripes running along the front of the wings and around the edge of the cockpit. Yumitaya screamed happily before running to her fighter. " I love it! "
" Well get in then so we can adjust the seat. " Seranya smiled happily as Yumitaya climbed into her fighter. The cockpit was rather large but after adjusting the seat, Everything was reachable.
After saying goodbye to Seranya, Yumikaya and Yumitaya flew they're fighters home.
Meanwhile
" What do you mean there is a droid here? " Zanira spoke with confusion and curiosity in her voice as Kalina looked a little lost.
" There is a droid... I think... Outside talking about a spike in Force energy. I've never seen a droid like it. " Kalina stopped speaking as Zanira walked outside to see the droid.
As Kalina said, Standing outside looking at the sky was a pearl white droid that had a remarkably humanoid shape. Zanira approached slowly as the droid turned around.
" Oh hello. I am IK-TO Advanced Reconnaissance Specialist. You are? " IK-TO spoke calmly in deep modulated voice.
" Zanira. May I ask why you are here? " Zanira looked puzzled as the droid spoke calmly.
" Ah yes. My scanners detected a spike in Force Energy at roughly midday yesterday. I traced the spike to this location and am very eager to meet the one responsible. " IK-TO spoke very clearly with a voice that while being modulated, Was very easy to understand.
" So you seek my daughter Yumikaya? For what purpose? " Zanira folded her arms slowly as IK-TO again spoke calmly.
" My mission is classified. I apologise but I can only discuss the details directly with... Yumikaya was it? It concerns... " IK-TO stopped speaking as Zanira's com-link beeped.
" Zanira here. What is it? " Zanira spoke calmly and listened closely as Shae Vizla's voice echoed through the com-link.
" Shae here. We were pinged by a starship ID signature late yesterday afternoon. It originated from within the planet. We were going to call you but the signal couldn't get through. " Shae Vizla was calm but her voice was full of confusion.
" Yes we had a blizzard yesterday afternoon. It died down early this morning. But forget that.. A ship ID? From WITHIN the planet? " Zanira was now thoroughly confused as IK-TO spoke again.
" Yes that is why I must speak with Yumikaya as quickly as possible. That ID signature concerns her directly. " IK-TO sighed in a rather human manner before Shae Vizla spoke again.
" Who the hell is that? " Shae Vizla spoke calmly before Zanira spoke.
" I will explain later. Zanira out. " Zanira switched off her com-link before turning to IK-TO and speaking slowly. " Yumikaya is not here right now but you are welcome to wait for her. She should be back..." Zanira paused for a moment as Yumikaya's fighter and another fighter flew overhead before landing nearby. " ...soon. "
" Am I to understand that Yumikaya just returned then? " IK-TO spoke calmly with a slight chuckle in his voice as Zanira smiled.
" So it would seem. Please be polite. Kaya can be a little... Emotional. " Zanira smiled as IK-TO bowed before turning towards the fighters and watching two young girls climb out of the cockpits.
" They look very alike. Which one would be Yumikaya? " IK-TO spoke before Zanira called to Yumikaya.
" Kaya! Come over here you have a visitor. " Zanira smiled happily as Yumikaya ran over and hugged her gently.
" Hi mom. Sorry we didn't come home yesterday. I was catching up with a friend. I'll tell you everything later. Who is this? " Yumikaya looked at IK-TO curiously as he bowed politely.
" I am IK-TO Advanced Reconnaissance Specialist. You are Yumikaya? " IK-TO spoke slowly before Yumikaya nodded. " Excellent. Please hold still for a moment while I scan you. " IK-TO stood perfectly upright with his head tilted down toward Yumikaya as a soft red light projected a line that scanned Yumikaya head to toe. After a moment and several beeps, IK-TO spoke enthusiastically. " Force signature identified. Results have been sent to Mandalorian Star Dreadnought, Identification, Ohbitimr. Equilibrium in basic. Equilibrium is the only ship of it's kind in the universe and it awaits you Euk Sarad. " IK-TO bowed deeply and politely before Yumikaya spoke.
" Awaits me? And why did you call me little flower? " Yumikaya folded her arms calmly in similar fashion to Zanira before IK-TO spoke again.
" There is a flower on your forehead and you are small in stature. Thus Euk Sarad. Little Flower. I am excited to know I can converse with you in Mando'a Yumikaya. It is of course, My natural language. I am at your service. " IK-TO again bowed very deeply as Yumikaya spoke.
" Are you a protocol droid? And I apologise but I don't speak Mando'a. I just understand many languages through the Force. " Yumikaya spoke calmly while keeping her arms folded.
" Ah. That is a trivial thing to fix. And you are referring to the Force ability Comprehend Speech are you not? " IK-TO chuckled softly as Yumikaya gasped. " Indeed you are. To your first question, No. I am no protocol droid. I am an Advanced Reconnaissance Specialist. I have programming in over two thousand languages, Advanced combat techniques and strategies, Advanced stealth capabilities and Assassination protocols that would make modern day assassin droids overload with jealousy. " IK-TO seemed to beam proudly as he spoke as Yumikaya nodded.
" I see. Last question. Why are you at my service? " Yumikaya spoke plainly as IK-TO chuckled.
" Yes.. Well the Equilibrium has been underground on Ilum since the middle of the Mandalorian Wars. The ship was designed as an answer to the threat that Revan and his Jedi posed to the clans. It was however, Too late. Revan swept over the clans like a wildfire and put an end to the conquest. The Equilibrium was hidden by the remainder of the Mandalorian survivors and here it has stayed... And I. Here, Buried in ice and snow, Have we stayed for nearly three hundred years. Awaiting one who would awaken the Equilibrium. " IK-TO sounded sad as he spoke of the great amount of time he had been alone.
" Awaken? What do you mean? " Yumikaya tilted her head to the side slightly as IK-TO started to explain.
" Ah. The Equilibrium is designed to absorb residual Force Energy and use it to power itself and its technology. The majority of the technology on the Equilibrium is in fact prototype technology. A combination of Mandalorian masterworks and ancient Rakata devices and technological marvels. The ship itself is a wonder to behold. So when you used the Force yesterday at the time that I detected the spike in Force Energy, the energy that you did not use was absorbed by the Equilibrium and it awoke and I with it. The Equilibrium and all her mechanical marvels now belong to you. " IK-TO bowed deeply as Yumikaya spoke.
" But if it requires Force Energy... How did the clans plan to use the ship? " Yumikaya spoke inquisitively before IK-TO explained.
" Well the clans were unaware how the technology actually works. It does not feed off of the Force. The ship is connected to it. The Rakatan technology made it... Well alive in a way. The ship is not sentient nor is it completely lifeless like droids. It is a marvel of technological advancement. The clans did not achieve this alone however. Some of the Rakatan devices contained... Living minds. Rakatan that were placed into the devices for crimes or simply survival. These minds helped the clans create the Equilibrium. " IK-TO stopped speaking before Zanira spoke.
" So it works along the principle of the Star Forge that Revan and Malak used to dominate the galaxy except that the Equilibrium is fuelled by the Force at large and does not require any external input for operations? " Zanira spoke bluntly as IK-TO nodded.
" Your assessment is correct. The Equilibrium is fully self sufficient. It requires no fuel sources nor external absorption to function. It is solely powered by the Force. " IK-TO spoke proudly as Zanira once again spoke.
" But how did the Mandalorian's achieve this? They must have needed incredible amounts of knowledge pertaining to the Force to create this ship. " Zanira spoke bluntly once again before IK-TO explained.
" Indeed and they had it. A majority of the Rakatan mind devices contained Force Sensitives. The Rakatan that were Force Sensitive had remarkable amounts of knowledge about the Force and how it effected the galaxy. This knowledge lead to the design of the device that the Equilibrium uses to absorb residual Force energy. There are multitudes of unused Force energy in the galaxy. The Equilibrium puts that unused energy to constructive use without damaging the Force or effecting the galaxy at large. " IK-TO stopped speaking as Yumikaya squealed excitedly.
" I can't wait to see it but first I need to complete my training in the caverns with the priestesses. Forgive me IK-TO but I really must return to the caverns. " Yumikaya bowed politely before motion to walk back into the tunnels as IK-TO spoke.
" Then allow me to accompany you Master. I have waited so long already.. " IK-TO sighed sadly before Yumikaya spoke.
" Yeah you can come along but please don't call me Master. I was a slave and I hate that word. Call me Kaya. " Yumikaya smiled before walking back into the tunnels with IK-TO following close behind her.
