Rogue stormed through the mansion mumbling under her breath about how certain members of the X-Men were unfair hypocrites. As she passed Scott, who was quietly talking with Hank McCloy or Beast, as some knew him, she shot him a look that wished him dead.
"Sorry Hank, but I've got to go," Scott said with a sigh once Rogue had vanished around the corner.
"I understand," Hank said with an understanding smile. As Scott started tow walk away Hank called after him, "Scott?"
"Yeah?" Scott asked, as he turned round to face him.
"Don't do anything you'll regret."
"I won't," Scott said as he followed Rogue. Just as he turned the corner into the next hallway, Scott heard the resounding slam of a bedroom door from the floor above.
"What the hell is going on?" Logan demanded as he poked his head out of his room.
"Rogue's in a mood, no idea what it's about though."
"Rogue's in a bad mood about something," Kitty told them as she passed down through the ceiling.
"Yeah because we couldn't tell that on our own." Scott muttered under his breath.
"What's she mad about?" Logan asked choosing to ignore Scott's remark.
"Something about some guy and what he said to her the other day." Kitty answered then added, "I think. I wasn't really listening."
"Said about what?" Scott asked a sudden feeling of dread coming over him.
"She didn't say." Kitty said with a shrug.
"What guy?" Logan asked.
"Don't know that either."
"Any chance you can find out Kit? I'd really like to get some sleep." Logan said with a large yawn.
"I can try, but I'm not making like any promises," Kitty said as she turned and headed down stairs.
"Where are you going?" Scott called after her, confused about why she was going down stairs when she had just said that she would try to convince Rogue to talk to her.
"Hello? Ice cream. Do you really expect me to like go up there and like confront her and all without ice cream?" Kitty demanded as she rolled her eyes in disbelief at the stupidity that Scott, the fearless leader of the X-Men, was currently displaying.
"Oh, I guess not?" Scott's answer sounded more like a question than a statement of fact. Logan, who was still standing next to him, burst in to an uncontrollable fit of sidesplitting laughter.
"Shut up," Scott snapped at Logan.
Logan fixed him with one of his unyielding stares, which made Scott feel even more uncomfortable than he had when Logan was laughing. The attention that Logan was currently giving him was worse than the attention he had gotten when he and Jean were engaged.
"You know what she's mad about." Logan stated.
"Of course I don't. How could I possibly know what she's mad about?"
"If you say so bub, but just remember the walls have ears." Logan said as he pointed to his own ears before going back into his room.
Groaning Scott headed down the hall to his room, which unfortunately for him was still right next door to Jean's room, which was now Jean and Logan's room. He would talk to Marie tomorrow, after he had gotten at least eight hours of sleep.
