Alright new chapter! Is good thing yeah?... Anyway, gotta say I'm a little disappointed that no one figured out all the shadows from Draco's sorting. So now I'm not telling you guys who they are, you just gonna have to wait and see. Also, only one dude so far has figured out what type of Pokémon Draco's gonna get, so that guy gets a fake cookie. Two more things then we can get into the good stuff. First, I've misplaced my copy of Harry Potter book 1. Until I find it things maybe out of order or not completely right, so level with me on this cool? Finally, class schedules for this story are based off how my schedule was in high school. Meaning four classes before lunch and two classes after lunch then we gone for the day. If you no like how me do this, then me sorry but me no care.
For the reviews I got:
FroschLover: I'm not sure if Severus is gonna be nice yet. We'll both find out as we go.
Sorariru: DAMN YOU! You're not supposed to figure out what Pokémon I give the cast. It's supposed to be a surprise damn it!... still I give you props for figuring out some of the things I'm gonna do later.
Blue Roselette: I'm planning on Harry meeting one of his Pokémon in a way similar to that.
There were a lot of reviews but these were some of the ones I felt I could respond to.
Anyway…. On with the show!
PppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppP
The rising sun shone brightly on the horizon. For just a moment that light made Hogwarts Castle glimmer as if made from gold. That same light moved through the windows of Gryffindor's tower, making the already red and gold rooms glow. In on such room, a certain black haired boy was just starting to wake up.
Harry was slow to leave the realm of sleep, but a certain shortness of breath made sleeping impossible. Tired emerald green eyes looked down his body to see Angel sleeping on top of him under the blankets. Harry tried to gentle move her off his body without waking her, but every time he moved Angel she just cuddled back into him. The newly made Gryffindor flopped his head back onto his pillow grumbling about this becoming a habit. As Harry, lay there thinking up a different plan, he felt something wet with a rough texture move across the underside of his jaw. A second glance down showed one red eye open looking back at him.
Harry narrowed his eyes. "You were awake this whole time weren't you?" He almost pouted. Angel gentle purred as she continued to lick his jaw. Harry huffed before he raised one of his hands and started petting the disaster Pokémon on his chest. Eventually he stopped petting her and just stared at the ceiling above him.
"You know we have to get out of bed soon. We promised Neville and Hermione we'd eat breakfast with them before classes." Angel stopped purring immediately after Harry spoke. She gave a soft growl from the back of her throat and snuggled closer into his chest.
"Don't be like that, Angel. We really do have to get up." Harry said as he tried moving her again. Angel only pushed harder into his chest and moved her head side to side. Finally, Harry managed to sit up just a little bit. He was panting slightly while looking down at the Absol. "How bout this, if you let me up then you can still lay in bed while I get ready to leave, sound good? You can relax until we need to leave." He asked. Angel raised her head to stare at Harry for a long moment, before she groaned and dropped her head on his chest. A moment later, Angel lifted her body slightly off Harry. The young Gryffindor moved as fast as he could before Angel dropped back down into the bed. Harry stood from the bed as Angel made herself comfortable again. Smiling to himself, Harry raised the blanket over his partner before moving to the foot of his bed. A wooden trunk with the words 'Harry J. Potter' in red sat at the end of the bed. Opening the trunk revealed all his school supplies and his clothes.
Harry pulled out his uniform and started to change clothes. As he did, the newly made Gryffindor noticed that his uniform had changed overnight. All the gray of his uniform was now red and on the left breast of his jacket sat the Gryffindor crest. Once dressed, Harry looked around to see if any of the other boys were up yet.
Across the room all the other boys were still asleep. Ron was fast asleep on his back snoring in the bed across the room from Harry. A quick glance near the floor, showed Scabbers' tail coming from under the bed. In the bed next to him, the boy named Dean was sleeping on his side with a Buizal curled up under his arm. On the other side of Dean, slept a freckled boy called Seamus curled up into a ball in the center of his bed. Above the boy's head was a Yanma nesting in a corner made from the bed frame and wall. When Harry turned his attention to Neville's bed, the sight he saw made him grin slightly.
Neville was sleeping on his stomach with his whole body stretched out across the bed, his hands and feet were even hanging off the bed. All the sheets and covers were balled up at the foot of the bed and the pillows were on the floor. Basil was laying on her back with her feet straight up in the air, blissfully asleep on Neville's head. The green leaf coming from her head fell down so that it covered Neville's eyes, making it look like the boy was wearing a green mask. Harry chuckled a little before he stepped over to their bed.
Once Harry was standing near the bed, he started gentle shaking Neville trying to wake the other boy. After five minutes, Harry stopped because he wasn't getting any response from the grass trainer. Shaking his head, Harry tried one more time to wake the other boy, when he suddenly found himself staring into a single red eye. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Harry realized that he had woken Basil and that it was her eye he was staring into, but at that moment it didn't matter. In that moment Harry was prey staring into the eyes of a predator. Basil gave a low growl as her vines shot out faster than Harry could track. Next thing Harry knew; he was lying flat on his back on the floor staring at the ceiling on the other side of his own bed.
Harry laid there for a second longer, just trying to figure out what happened. A soft huffing growl sounded from the bed as Harry frowned. Leaning up, he saw Angel laughing at him on the bed. "Shut up…." He mumbled as his face got a little hotter. Angel crept over to the edge of the bed and leaned her head down towards Harry. she gentle rubbed her head into his check and purred softly. Harry ignored her for a moment before he smiled and wrapped his arms around Angel's neck. "fine, I forgive you, you over grown fluff ball with horns." He said still hugging her. Eventually Harry let go of Angel and stood up. Looking over towards Neville's bed, he saw that the red curtains around the bed were now drawn so that a person couldn't see the bed. Harry wondered when that happened before he shrugged and before looking back at Angel.
"Wanna help me wake up our new friends, girl?" Harry asked as he moved around their bed to stand in front of Neville's bed again. Angel nodded her head and jumped off the bed to stand next to her trainer. Slowly Harry moved the curtains from around the bed. Neither Neville or Basil seemed to have moved from their spotted after Harry ended up on the floor. Both Angel and Harry got into position with Angel leaning slightly towards Neville with her mouth open and Harry stood still with his hands hovering next to Basil's sides. A quick meeting of the eyes, and both trainer and Pokémon acted. Harry lifted Basil off Neville's head and Angel ran her tongue from the bottom of the boy's chin to the top of his hair. Neville jumped awake with a small scream and now stood straight up on the bed. Basil, having heard her trainer's scream, snapped her eyes open and let her vines fly. Unfortunately for Harry and Angel, the vines quickly wrapped around them and suddenly they were hanging upside down from the vines. Once Neville calmed down enough to figure out what was going on, he laughed a little at his new friends before speaking to them.
"M-morning g-guys, h-how's it ha-hangin?" He said with a grin, but Harry could see the concern in his eyes. Neville was worried they might actually be hurt or upset about hanging upside down from the ceiling.
Harry looked himself over before turning his attention to Angel. Said Absol was looking herself over too before she gave a small nod to Harry. "We're good. So how are you on this fine morning?" he asked like it was perfectly normal to be hanging upside down. Angel softly growled her greetings to Basil as well.
Neville grinned as he gentle ran a finger across Basil's head under her leaf. "I'm f-f-feeling gr-gr-great." He said. Basil huffed as she glared at the two stuck in her vines. Suddenly she grinned with a dark glimmer in her eyes. In that moment, Harry could safely say that he knew what it meant to be scared of a Chikarita. Next thing anyone knew, the vines holding Angel and Harry let go and the pair fell into a pile on the floor.
Neville gasped as he jumped of his bed and started to help them up. "I-I'm s-s-s-sorry! I t-t-told h-her to l-l-let you g-g-go; I d-d-didn't mean l-l-like tha-that." He said as he finished helping Harry stand up. Harry just laughed as he bumped shoulders with Neville before looking at Basil. "don't be, that was one of the best 'payback for waking me up' things that anyone's ever done to us." He grinned slightly as Angel moved to stand in front of Basil. She leaned forward until there was only an inch or so of space between their faces. The boys were quiet as they sat and watched. Basil stood her ground, not moving a muscle as she waited to see what the other Pokémon wanted. Angel never broke eye contact as she opened her mouth and ran her tongue from basil's chest to the tip of her leaf in one long slow lick. Angel gave a huffing laugh as she moved to sit in front of Harry with a very pleased look on her face.
The room was silent as Basil tried to understand what just happened. If ever a Pokémon embodied the expression 'W.T.F...?' it was Basil, as she slowly turned to stare blankly at Angel. She blinked slowly three times before her eyes narrowed even slower. Basil growl low in her throat before she jumped off the bed and charged at Angel. Said Absol just sat there waiting for her to get her. As Basil drew closer, she jumped up like she was going to tackle the much bigger Pokémon. At the last possible second, Angel dropped down into a crouch low to the floor, still with a happy look on her face. Basil sailed right above her and crashed into Harry and Neville, sending the two boys and one Pokémon into a pile on the floor. Angel moved to crouch playfully in front of the pile. Basil growled again with righteous fury in her eyes as she charged at the Absol again. Both Pokémon ran and jumped around the room, Basil trying to catch Angel and Angel staying just out of reach. They crawled under Dean's bed before they jumped above Seamus but below his Yanma and they jumped on Ron's bed too, but the boy didn't even move. Eventually Angel landed on Harry's bed right next to night stand with her Pokéball on it. She glanced over her shoulder at Basil in victory before touching her nose to the Pokéball. Basil jumped and landed on her back just as a white flash made Angel vanish. The Chikorita dropped to the bed as the cherish ball rolled to a stop in front of her. Basil growled at the ball before using her paws to try and open it. When that failed she tried her teeth. Finally, Basil huffed at the Pokéball and shoved it way and stomped over to Harry's pillow. There she flopped down on the pillow and glared at the cherish ball, waiting for Angel to come out and take her beating like a good Pokémon.
Harry and Neville sat watching the whole thing, trying desperately not to laugh. They fail spectacularly. Basil growl at the two boys before turning her attention back to Angel's Pokéball. Once they got their laughter in check, Neville turned to Harry. "S-so wh-why'd you wake us u-u-up? N-n-not that I'm not ha-ha-happy you di-di-did." The grass trainer asked.
Harry shrugged. "Not sure, to be honest with you. I'm just so pumped to be here. Plus, we're going to eat together at breakfast so I just figured, why not go to breakfast together too?" Neville shrugged too, it was as good a reason as any. Harry stood up and walked to his bed where Basil still sat staring at Angel's Pokéball. The newly made Gryffindor picked up the cherish ball and let Angel out before putting the Pokéball in his jacket. The moment she was out, Basil stood up on Harry's pillow growling. Angel slowly crawled to Basil on her stomach, while whining softly. Once she got to the Chikorita, Angel started nuzzling the other Pokémon, still whining as she did. Basil looked annoyed at the start, but eventually she huffed at Angel and lower her head to nuzzle back. Now forgiven for earlier, Angel jumped up and walked over to sit at Harry's side.
"Get dressed man, then we can go see if Hermione's up yet." Harry said. Neville quickly got to work getting dressed. Like Harry, all the gray on Neville's uniform was now red with the same Gryffindor crest on his jacket. Once dress, the boys and their Pokémon left just as Dean and his buizal started waking up for the day.
Down in the common room, the boys found a mostly empty room with only a fifth year girl reading a book on one of the couches. A quick questioning of the girl revealed that she had be in the common room for a while and hadn't seen Hermione come down yet. The new Gryffindor boys took over one of the other couches while waiting for their friend. A good fifteen minutes of mindless talking later, Hermione came walking down the Girls' staircase with Morpheus on her back.
At first glance, Hermione looked very much awake. Her clothes were on perfectly and her hair was mostly tamed. All the gray of her uniform traded for red just like the boys. In fact, the only thing out of place on her that the boys could tell, was the fact that Hermione's eyes weren't open as she walked over to them. Hermione came to a stop right in front of the boys before one of her eyes slowly open a fraction of an inch. "Moring guys." Even though she spoke clearly, Hermione still managed to sound like she was mumbling. Morpheus didn't move on her back, in fact he seemed to be snoring slightly.
The boys glanced at each other in concern before looking back at their female friend. "Good morning to you too Hermione…... you ok there?" Harry asked as Hermione's eye closed. The brunette female nodded for a second before she hummed out her answer.
"I'm good boys, just tired is all." Morpheus seemed to snuggle his head closer into Hermione's shoulder as she talked.
"You sure, Her-Hermione? If you want, you c-c-can g-g-go back to sleep. Br-breakfast doesn't s-st-start for another f-f-fifteen mi-minutes." Neville offered as he moved off the couch to make room for the sleepy brunette. Hermione smiled slightly at him as she shook her head.
"Thanks Neville, but it won't make much difference if I did. Morpheus and I'll be fine once we've had some coffee. Truth be told, Morpheus won't wake up without it." She said as she moved one shoulder to emphasize the sleeping Abra on her back. "I apologize ahead of time for being grouchy until we get some coffee. Now, let's get that coffee…. I mean get breakfast." With that, Hermione turned and started walking toward the common room exit, still with her eyes closed. Harry raised an eyebrow at Neville who shrugged at him before he followed Hermione out the door. Harry sat there for a moment longer before he felt something pulling on his jacket sleeve. Looking down, he saw Angel trying to pull him towards the door. Harry shook his head with a small smile as he got up and jogged to catch up with his friends.
Hermione let the group to the Great Hall without any difficulty and still with her eyes closed. Once in the hall, the small group made their way to the Gryffindor table and sat down. The table was filled to the brim with foods of all kinds and many different types of drinks. Harry sat near the end of the table with Angel sitting on the ground next to him. Neville sat next to Harry on the other with Basil in his lap. Hermione sat across from them with Morpheus in her lap still fast asleep. Hermione immediately grabbed one of the large coffee pots and started pouring two cups of fresh hot coffee. After she did that, Hermione opened Morpheus' mouth and dumped one of the cups into it. Both Harry and Neville looked on, concerned for the little Abra, as the steaming hot liquid went down his throat. Immediately after the cup was empty, Morpheus opened his eyes and reached for the coffee pot. As he poured himself another cup, Hermione started drinking her own cup of hot coffee. After a moment, both trainer and Pokémon stopped their coffee consumption with a pleased sigh and started making themselves a bowl of fruit to eat. The boys were deeply lost on what just happened, but they figured if Morpheus didn't have a problem with how Hermione gave him his coffee, then neither did they. Neville made himself a plate off pancakes and hash browns that he shared with Basil. Harry filled a pate full of bacon, sausage and ham for Angel that he placed on the bench next to him for her. Once Angel started eating he made a bowl of cereal for himself. As the group ate and talked, Harry looked around the hall.
There weren't many students there yet. Most of the students were from Ravenclaw and Slytherin at the moment, with a few Hufflepuffs thrown in. There was almost no one at the Gryffindor table yet. The only person Harry could recognize was Percy near the other end of the table. The prefect was eating a bagel while reading a newspaper. His Dedenne was sitting on his shoulder also nibbling on a bagel and seemed to be reading the paper with him. At the teacher's table some of the professors were there eating, but for the most part the table was empty just like the rest of the hall.
As time passed the hall quickly filled with more students. The hall grew louder with each student until everyone was almost screaming just to hear each other. Harry spotted Draco and a pair of boys enter the hall as they headed to the Slytherin table. Their uniforms were now green and white unlike Harry's red and white one.
Eventually the heads of house started making their way to their tables to hand out class schedules. Harry watched as they teachers made their way down the tables, when he caught Professor Flitwick's eye. The small man shot Harry a smile and winked at him. Harry smiled back, he still liked the man even though he wasn't the one to take Harry and Dudley to Diagon City. Plus, Harry was excited to see what the professor's class was like. Flitwick smiled again before gesturing with his head to Harry's right and then going back to his students. Confused Harry looked to his right, to see Professor McGonagall less than five students away from his group. Once she was done talking to some of her students, McGonagall turned her attention to Harry and co. the Professor paused for briefest of moments when she saw Angel, but recovered before anyone noticed.
"Hello, Ms. Granger and Mr.'s Potter and Longbottom. Here are your class schedules for the year. Please keep track of them as you will get in trouble if you aren't in your class when you're supposed to be there. Also I say this to all my new Litleos, if ever you have questions, concerns or you just want to talk, my door is always open to you. If for some reason you can't talk to me about something, then your prefects and such are there for you as well." Her voice was stern but the warmth in her eyes as she looked at them, told Harry Hermione and Neville that she meant every word she said. Once the group nodded, Professor McGonagall walked off to the next group of students.
As she left, the doors to the Great Hall opened just a bit and Ron Weasley came running through them before he plopped down in the seat next to Harry. As he did, Ron almost sat on Angel's food making her growl at him and Harry frown. Once seated, the redhead started grabbing food as he piled his plate high. "Harry mate, why didn't you wake me before you left? We could've walked to breakfast together." The Boy almost whined as he started stuffing his face. Hermione watched him eat with a look of disgust on her face. The brunette started pouring two more cups of coffee after she fixed her face. Both she and Morpheus were thinking it was too early for dealing with the redhead and that they hadn't had enough coffee to deal with him yet either. Neville just moved his and Basil's food a little closer to himself but didn't say anything about the redhead. Harry checked to make sure Angel's food was still edible before looking at Ron.
"Why would I wake you up for that, we aren't friends remember?" he asked as he watched Ron eat his food at a pace that seemed almost impossible for a human to eat at. If not for the fact that it was a little nauseating to watch, Harry would've thought watching Ron eat was kinda amazing to see. Ron stopped eating for second so he could mumble out that they were friends before he went back to his food.
By now students were starting to leave the Great Hall for their classes. Harry looked at Hermione and Neville to see if they were done eating. Both new Gryffindors nodded their heads before the group stood up to leave as well. Ron noticed and quickly opened his mouth.
"Wait! You can't just leave. I haven't finished my food yet." He whined as the food on the table started to disappear, leaving only the food on students' plates left on the tables.
"Yes, we can and we will." Hermione said as she and the boys started to walk away. Suddenly Ron said the one thing that might make them stay.
"Please don't leave yet. I didn't get my schedule so I don't know where to go. Please, I'll be finished real soon, I promise. Just don't leave me please." Harry and Hermione didn't even slow down as they walked away, but Neville stopped walking all together. The pair quickly noticed that Neville wasn't with them, so they stopped and turned around. The grass trainer didn't like Ron, but he didn't want to leave the boy either. Professor McGonagall said students would get in trouble if they're late or not where they're supposed to be. More and more students were leaving now and even some of the professors were starting to leave. Neville looked at Harry and Hermione helplessly. Almost as one, Harry and Hermione turned to each other and started whispering.
"He is not coming with us." Hermione stated. She didn't mind helping Ron really she didn't, but the brunette knew that if the guy came with them, then trouble was going to happen. Either Ron would say something and upset all of them, or he'd do something to piss them all off. At that point one of them would do something to the redhead and pretty some they'd all be in trouble. Hermione believed Ron not coming with them was the best course of action for everyone involve, including Ron. There just had to be something they could do to help the boy without his coming with them. More students left the hall as they talked about it.
Neville stepped over to the whispering pair. "G-g-guys, if w-we-we're go-going to do s-something then w-w-we need to d-d-do it soon." He said as the last of the stragglers left the Great Hall. Now it was only the four of them and their Pokémon. Ron was still eating, happily oblivious to the debating trio next to him.
Harry looked over at Ron with a sigh before turning his attention to Neville. "Nothing much we can do other then take him with us. He should be done eating soon, then- "He suddenly stopped talking as he stared at Neville's face. The grass trainer had a look of fear on his face as he looked at something behind Harry. Now feeling a little scared too, Harry slowly turned around.
Hermione stood there watching Harry with a serein smile as the air around her seemed to darken. Morpheus sat on her back as he slowly raised his arms above Hermione's head. As he did, the little Abra seemed to get bigger until he was looming over the group with his eyes glowing an evil purple color. Harry didn't even know that purple could be evil but in that moment there was no other way to describe it. As he stood there, a sudden little voice spoke to Harry in his head. This voice was a centuries old instinct that all males', human and Pokémon alike, have. An instinct that said life is better, safer, and easier if the females in your life are not pissed at you. Harry, being the almost smart male that he was, decided to act on this instinct.
"You know what, never mind. I'll stay with Ron. You and Neville head to class, yeah? Save me a seat when you get there, please." Harry said in a hurry, and just like that the dark aura and looming Abra vanished. Hermione's smile became friendly as she grabbed Neville's arm. Together the pair left out the Great Hall, Neville looking nervously at the bushy haired brunette the whole way.
Harry stood there watching them leave before he turned his attention to Angel. The Absol had sat during Morpheus' little terror show without even flinching but had let the boys experience it without her help. Angel felt it was good for the boys to learn never upset a female while they were still young. This lesson will save them from much trouble in the future, especially with their future mates. Besides, Angel would have stepped in if things got out of hand. Angel rubbed her head against Harry's hand before glancing at Ron.
Harry sighed while shaking his head before glancing at Ron then at the Great Hall doors. Ron would finish eating soon then they'd leave. No way they'd be late for class…. Right?
PpppppppppppppppppppppppP
Worried. Neville was very worried. He sat next to Hermione in their Pokémon Interactions class and the class was supposed to start five minutes ago. Harry and Ron still weren't there yet, but luckily neither was Professor McGonagall. Neville glanced over at the Professor's desk. On the desk sat two Pokémon. The Professor's Persian laid on the desk with his paws slightly hanging off it and his head laying between them. Next to the tan cat sat a tan and purple cat. Hermione had told Neville that the cat was a Delcatty and that it wasn't gonna hurt him, but honestly something about that Pokémon unnerved him. The Delcatty was sitting straight up on the desk and was watching the door without blinking. The cat's right ear twitched slightly as its eyes narrowed on the door.
Suddenly the door burst open and Harry, Ron and Angel rushed into the room. Both boys were out of breath and Angel almost flopped to the floor with her tongue out huffing air as well. Harry quickly started over to the empty seat on the other side of Hermione while Ron looked around the room. After a moment he grinned.
"Ha! Harry mate we beat McGonagall here. Told you we didn't need to worry. Besides it the first day, what could she do to us anyway?" Ron said arrogantly as he slowly walked to the seat next to Dean, behind Hermione. Neither boy had gotten to their seats, when it happened. The Delcatty on the desk growled before it jumped off the desk. While it was in the air, the Pokémon started to change. When it landed, the Pokémon was no longer a Pokémon, now standing before the boys was Professor McGonagall and she was not happy.
"Wicked…' Ron muttered in Awe. He wasn't the only one either, every student in the class was looking at the professor with the same expression on their faces.
"Thank you Mr. Weasley, but let's talk about you two being late to my class shall we?" She said. Slowly with almost a predatory glace, Professor McGonagall circled the pair. She stopped in front of them again when her head tilted slightly to the left. her eyes focused on Ron as she opened her mouth. "Maybe your starter Pokémon should have been a Phanpy Mr. Weasley. Even as newly hatched Pokémon, Phanpy have better memory then most fully grown adults. Perhaps with one of them as your partner then you'd remember not to be late to my class." The professor almost seemed to growl near the end of her speech.
"It's not that Professor." Harry blurted out without thinking. McGonagall turned her eyes to him as her Persian leapt of the desk and moved to stand at his mistress's side. Harry gulped at the heat in her stare before he continued. "We got lost."
Professor McGonagall glanced at Angel before she returned her stare to Harry. "A Zubat then. Zubats can use their Supersonic and Sonic blasts to map out the surrounding area, meaning they always know where they are and what is around them." Angel growled at the thought and stepped closer to her Trainer. Persian growled in warning to the Absol before McGonagall placed her hand on his head.
Professor McGonagall closed her eyes and sighed in annoyance before opening her eyes again. When she did, Harry could see that her eyes had softened slightly. "This is the first time you are late so I will not give you detention for it, but make no mistake. I can and will punish you if this happens again. Now take your seats so we can begin." With that, the professor turned around and walked back to her desk. Harry quickly sat in his seat as Ron moved over to his. Just as the red head was about to sit down, Professor McGonagall looked at him over her shoulder. "Oh, and Mr. Weasley… just because it is the first day of school doesn't mean anything. You will find that most of your Professors will happily make your life a nonstop detention and punishment session if you can't follow the rules. Do try and remember that." She commented casually. Ron almost missed his chair as she spoke but managed not to land on the floor.
Once she was at her desk, the professor turned to face the class, while standing in front of it. "As some of you may know, I am Professor McGonagall and this is Pokémon Interactions. In this class you will learn about Pokémon and their actions and reactions to both each other and to people. Pokémon are living breathing things just like you and I, they are not tools or weapons to be used and discarded at your leisure." She said as her eyes moved over the Slytherins in the room. "if the only thing you learn in this class is that, then I have done something right. Never the less, I will be showing you how to care for your Pokémon and how to be a good trainer for them. Once you have a Pokémon's love, there is nothing they won't do for you. Part of this class is about learning to be a trainer worthy of that love, but above all it is about earning that love. Without love and trust you and your Pokémon are nothing. A Pokémon, no matter how strong, and a trainer, no matter how skilled, will lose to a rookie if they can't come together." As the professor spoke her Persian climbed back onto the desk and sat with his head on her shoulder. McGonagall petted his head as the class absorbed all she said.
"Now in this class, you will have any and all Pokémon that you have out and attending class with you." She said. Harry glanced around the room but no one made a move to let out their Pokémon. Angel was already out as he had never put her into her Pokéball. The Professor's Persian raised his head and narrowed his eyes as the class continued to just sit there. McGonagall raised an eyebrow. "Well…. What are you waiting for?"
Almost as one, the class started releasing their Pokémon. Once all the Pokémon were out, Harry took a quick look around. He saw Pokémon of every type shape and color on or around their trainers' desks. Just before he turned his attention back to the front of the class, Harry saw Draco and his friends' desks. Draco sat in between the two boys from breakfast with three Pokémon sitting on the desks. The boy to Draco's left had a Geodude sitting on his desk and it seemed to be staring off into space as it sat there. The other boy to Draco's right had a Roggenrola walking in a circle on his desk. Draco himself had a Pokémon that Harry had never seen before. It looked a lot like a Horsea but with different colors. It took Harry a minute to realize that the Pokémon was a Skrelp. The Skrelp looked around for a second before it turned and buried itself in Draco's jacket.
Professor McGonagall cleared her throat to get everyone's attention back on her. "Now that everyone is here, we can begin."
PppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppP
Harry and co. walked out of the castle, on their way to their next class, Tracking and Capturing. Ron wasn't with them as after McGonagall's class, the professor gave the redhead his schedule. The group had just left their Battling class. The class itself was interesting but the class professor made the class harder than it had to be. Professor Quirrell stuttered so bad that it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying. On the plus side, Neville now felt a little better about his stuttering. He wasn't nearly as bad as Quirrell.
The group was walking towards a larger group of their year mates near a giant rock surrounded by tall grass. Sitting in front of the rock was the heavy set woman from their sorting. She was leaning back against the rock waiting for them.
Eventually, all the students came to a stop in the grass in front of the woman. She smiled at them before she stood up. "Hi there! Name's Professor Sprout and I'll be teaching each of you how to catch Pokémon. "She grinned at them before motioning around them with her arms. "before we get started on the good stuff, I got a question for you. Do you think there are any Pokémon in the Grass with us? And I mean Pokémon that don't belong to you, not your own ones." The professor asked them.
The students looked around the area before a boy wearing the blue and white of Ravenclaw spoke. "There aren't any Pokémon in this grass." He said with confidence. Other students nodded their heads in agreement.
Professor Sprout turned her smile to him. "Oh…... And how do you figure that? You didn't search the area." She asked in a warm voice. The boy looked confused as another boy stepped forward, this one wearing Slytherin green.
"We don't need to. If there were any Pokémon in this grass, then they would have attacked us or at the very least moved around a little. The grass hasn't moved except for when we moved through it, so there can't be any Pokémon." He said in a snobbish tone. More students voiced their agreement as he spoke.
The professor looked or the students with a soft almost sad smile. "so you are all in agreement that there are no Pokémon in this grass." She said. Everyone nodded, everyone but three students wearing Gryffindor red. Sprout moved her eyes over them before they landed on Neville. "You there, Mr. Longbottom. Do you believe that we are alone here?" she asked. The other students turned to look at Neville when she spoke to him. Neville looked ready to run once all the attention was on himself. In fact, he would have run if not for Harry bumping his shoulder against the other boy's. Neville glanced at Harry out the corner of his eye. Harry nodded at him with a small smile just as Neville felt a pair of fingers grab on to one of his. Neville glanced to the other side of him at Hermione. She was staring straight a head, but when she had Neville's attention she squeezed the finger in her grasp before letting it go.
Now feeling more confident than ever, Neville locked eyes with Professor Sprout and pretended the other students weren't there. "I th-think th-there m-m-might be p-Pokémon in th-th-this gr-grass. My gr-grams says that j-j-just cause you c-c-c-can't see o-o-or even h-h-hear s-s-something, d-d-doesn't mean th-that s-s-something i-isn't out th-there." He still stuttered pretty bad but, Neville was happy that he managed to say anything. Professor Sprout watched him for a long moment before she threw her head back and laughed.
She laughed long and hard. By the end of her laugh, Neville was looking at his shoes and Hermione had to hold Harry back from attacking the professor, he still managed to glare at her though. Sprout looked at Neville with a giant grin on her face. "I like you kid. Five points to Gryffindor for saying your piece. Slowking sure helped you into the right house, cause it takes guts to speak one's mind even when you scared of doing it." She said still with that grin in place. Neville's head snapped up in shock and he wasn't the only one either. Professor Sprout had another laugh at the faces of her students before turned her eyes to a spot behind the class. "What do you think Thornwood, are there any Pokémon in the grass."
At her question, a shape started to raise from the grass behind the class. The shape casted a shadow over the group as it stood at its full height. Standing before the student was a very tall Chesnaught. It looked down at them for a moment before walking over to Professor Sprout. The large grass type plopped down on the ground next to her and crossed its arms. Sprout laughed again at her students as she brought a small whistle to her lips. When she blew it, more Pokémon started coming out of the grass. In all fifteen Pokémon now stood near the professor.
"Five more points to Gryffindor for being right. Now I asked you if there were Pokémon in the grass, and I gotta say I'm disappointed by how you went about giving me an answer. You all just looked at the grass, none of you actually checked the grass." The Professor said before pointing at the Chesnaught with her thumb. "Thornwood was laying less than five feet from you and no one noticed him. How do you plan to catch Pokémon, when you walk right past them?" She asked. "If you don't actually search for something, then you'll never find anything." She told them. The group was silent as she spoke. Sprout clapped her hands together before gesturing to her Pokémon. All of the Pokémon but Thornwood surged forward and in seconds vanished back into the grass.
"Now…. let's see how well you do in finding them now that you know they're out there."
PpppppppppppppppppppppppP
It was lunch time now and a group of very dirty and sleepy first years stumbled into the Great Hall. After chasing Pokémon around the grass, Professor Sprout's class ended and the students had to rush from the glass back into the castle for their next class. Needless to say, none of the students got a chance to clean themselves of the dirt and sweat before they needed to be in their next class. Luckily, or unluckily depending who was asked, their next class was History of Pokémon. The only exciting thing about the class was that it was taught by a Pokémon. A Musharna by the name of Professor Binns used his powers to send his voice directly into the minds of his students. Sadly, Professor Binns' voice has such a soothing and hypnotic feeling to it, that he put almost all his students to sleep within the first ten minutes of class. Only Hermione and a few of the Ravenclaws managed to stay awake, but it was close even for them. After the bell rang, waking the class, all the students ran from the class without looking back.
Harry and friends made their way to the Gryffindor table just as food started to appear. They managed to get their same spot at the table from breakfast, as the table filled. Somehow Hermione found more coffee for her and Morpheus as she filled their plate with two turkey sandwiches and fruit. Across from her, Neville and Basil shared a plate of chicken strips and French fries with a tall glass of grape juice. Angel still sat at Harry's side with a plate loaded down with hotdogs and bun less hamburgers. In between Angel and Neville, Harry chowed down on a plate of chips and a double cheeseburger. The group was mostly quiet as they ate, the Great Hall was loud enough without them, when once again a certain redhead sat with them. This time Ron sat next to Hermione across from Harry.
"Hey Harry mate." He said before he started to fill a plate for himself. Harry ignored him as Hermione moved a few inches away from him. Ron continued to try and talk to Harry, when suddenly there where two people standing behind him. Harry, Neville and Hermione looked at the pair as Ron talked on. The pair were two tall redheaded boys, both wearing a form of Gryffindor uniforms. Instead of white and red uniforms, they only wore the uniform jacket in a dark brown with red markings and red cloth hoods coming out of their collars. The jackets still had the Gryffindor crest on them, but right next to the crest sat a small golden crown with a red three on it. Under the jackets, they wore yellow t-shirts with a black lightning bolt going down the front. The boys also wore dark jeans and tan running shoes. Sitting on the boys' heads were a Plusle and a Minun.
"Hello there- "
"icky firsties, - "
"He's Fred- "
And he's George- "
"Weasley and we- "
"Just came- "
"to see if- "
"our baby brother- "
"Ronniekins- "
"was bothering you." They spoke together as they bowed to the group before pointing at the younger redhead. The Pokémon sitting on their heads also pointed at the boy before they jumped from one redhead to the other and sat down on their new redhead giggling. Ron finally noticed his brothers standing behind him but kept eating as if they weren't there. The two boys shook their heads sighing, as did their Pokémon, at their brother before turning their attention back to Harry and friends.
"it would seem he is, so if it's all the same to you, we'll just be taking him for a while. It was very nice meeting you. Maybe next time we'll get your names, Bye then." They said in almost one voice as each boy grabbed one of Ron's arms. Once they had him, Fred and George lifted him up with ease and turned to walk away. Ron yelped when they picked him up but nether twin paid him any mind, not even when he started whining about wanting his food. None of the other students said anything as they did, the older students were used to the madness that was the Weasley twins and the first years were too confused to say anything. For a moment, Harry sat there looking at Hermione, who looked at Neville, who in turn stared at Harry. No one spoke as they tried to understand what just happened. Eventually conversation picked up again.
The conversation hit a slow spot, when Draco caught Harry's eye. Draco slightly jerked his head towards the Great Hall doors before he stood up from the Slytherin table. The blonde walked to the doors, just before he walked through them Draco made eye contact with Harry again. Harry excused himself from the table before he headed for the doors. When he left, Hermione was trying to convince Neville that they should study a little before lunch ended, so they almost didn't hear him.
Once outside the Hall, Harry looked around for Draco but didn't see him. Remembering Professor Sprout's lesson, Harry started searching the nearby halls for the blonde Slytherin. As he searched, Harry didn't see the person watching him in amusement. Harry was almost finished checking behind one of the many tapestries hanging on the walls, when a voice spoke.
"What are you doing?" Harry jumped at the voice before quickly turning around to face the owner of said voice. Leaning against the wall was Draco with a slight smirk on his face. Peeking out from inside Draco's jacket, was the Skrelp from class. When the little Pokémon noticed Harry looking at it, it yelped slightly and buried itself further into the blonde's jacket.
"Nothing, I wasn't doing anything… So, what'd you call me out for?" Harry asked as he moved to stand in front of Draco. As he did, Harry couldn't help glancing at blonde's jacket, hoping to catch another glimpse of the other boy's Skrelp. Draco noticed the glances and gestured to his jacket.
"You'll have to forgive Shy, she's…... well shy. And before you ask, yes her name is Shy. I was six when I was first introduced to her. She's shy and that was the only thing I could think to name her." He said. He didn't tell Harry that Shy was the only name she would answer to, otherwise her name would have been Poison-Awesomeness or something like that; but people didn't need to know that. When Draco said her name, Shy poked her head out for a second to see what he wanted before she quickly ducked her head back into the jacket. "Anyway…. The reason I wanted to talk to you was to give you a heads up. Our last class today is Potions and the Professor for it doesn't like anyone not in Slytherin but he hates Gryffindors the most. If I were you, I'd do some quick studying while you can. The Professor will come down hard on you if you don't." He said.
Harry looked worried. "Thanks for the warning but why doesn't he like Gryffindor?" he said as he thought about Hermione. Suddenly her idea to study for the rest of lunch didn't seem so bad.
Draco shrugged. "Don't know, but it would be best if you didn't give him a reason to make your life hell here. That's all I had to say, so I'll be going now." With that, the blonde turned and started walking away.
"Wait!" Harry called just as the blonde was about to turn a corner. Draco stopped where he was before looking over his shoulder at the other boy. "Thanks for telling me…. really, but I gotta ask. Are we friends? I feel like we're friends sorta but at the same time not really." Harry asked with his head tilted slightly.
The blonde shrugged again. "who knows? Ask me again some time and I'll tell you then." Draco faced forward again and was gone around the corner before Harry could ask him what he meant. Harry looked confused for a second before he shrugged and headed back to the Great Hall. Once he got there, Harry quickly joined Hermione in studying and together they got Neville to study too.
PppppppppppppppppppppppP
Once lunch was over, Harry and friends left for their next class, Pokéball making. Harry was really excited for this class as Professor Flitwick would be teaching it. The group quickly made their way to his classroom on the fifth floor. They made it to the room with a good ten minutes to spare but luckily the room was open when they got there.
As the group walked into the room, they got a good look around. All around the room there were work tables and stools and a row of lockers lining two of the four walls. In the center of the room was a large table with Professor Flitwick working with a half built Pokéball. The table was covered with finished and unfinished Pokéballs, most of which the new Gryffindors had never seen before. The group moved to stand in front of the professor's table just as he looked up at them.
"Oh! Hello there Mr. Potter and friends. You can put your stuff in the lockers over there, they have fingerprint locks on them so don't worry about losing anything. There's no assigned seating in this class so sit where ever you want. Also it's good to see you again Mr. Potter." Professor Flitwick grinned before he went back to the Pokéball in his hand. The group walked over to the lockers and put their stuff in a trio of lockers near the center of the wall, then they took their seats at a table to the left of the Professor's table.
They sat quietly talking to each other as they waited for the rest of the class to get there. Eventually everyone made it to class and Flitwick stood up from his table. In his hand was the Pokéball that he had been working on. It was a dark gray color with four blue circles on it. He set in down on a table full of HufflePuffs before he started walking around the room.
"Hello everyone, my name is Professor Flitwick and in this class I will be showing you how to build Pokéballs. Making Pokéballs is both very easy and very complicated at the same time. Who here knows what Pokéballs are made from?" the Professor asked. Hermione and several Ravenclaws raised their hands. Flitwick pointed to Hermione. "Yes Miss. Granger?"
"Pokéballs are made from Apricorns, Sir." She said with a smile.
Flitwick grinned at her. "Correct! Two points to Gryffindor." The professor moved back to his desk and picked up three different types of Pokéballs. One Pokéball was a pale pink color with two cream colored streaks on it and a light blue band. Another one was black with four green circles and an orange band on it. The last one was a dark green with yellow lines running around it. He then went to each of the different tables and handed each student a different Pokéball. Harry ended up holding one of the pink ones, Hermione had a green and yellow one, and Neville got one of the black and green ones. Harry glanced over at Draco to see that the blonde also had a pink one. As he turned back to the professor, he briefly noticed that Ron had gotten a black and green one. Once all the students were holding a Pokéball, professor Flitwick held up one of each type of Pokéball.
"now, each of you are holding a Pokéball that I made earlier today. The pink ones are Heal Balls, the black and green ones are Dusk Balls and the green and Yellow ones are Nest balls. At the end of the year, each of you will build the Pokéball that you're holding. Before that I will teach you about the different types of Apricorns and we will be making standard Pokéballs with the random Great Ball or Ultra Ball through in for good measure." The Professor said before he put the Pokéballs in his hands back on his table. Flitwick glanced at a clock hanging above the door before he looked back at his class.
"Now, for today we're not really going to be going much because I don't think I should work you too hard since it's the first day of classes. That being said, don't think this class will be a lazy one. I will push you to do your absolute best and I won't except anything less. So today, we'll go over some introductory stuff, then I suggest you read up on Apricorns while you can…. Oh! And you can each keep the Pokéballs you're holding. Think of them as my 'welcome to Hogwarts' gift." The Professor grinned as some of the students cheered for the free stuff.
PpppppppppppppppppppppppppP
Neville lead Hermione and Harry from Flitwick's class after the bell rang. Harry was talking excitedly with Hermione about the Professor's class, both with grins on their faces. Neville nodded along with their conversation but his focus was mostly on checking out his new Pokéball and making sure the group was walking in the right direction. He did smile at how excited his two friends seemed to be about the class. Honestly, most of stuff about making the actual Pokéball went right over his head. Neville would admit the class was probably going to be fun though.
Neville slowly lead them down several flites of stairs before they eventually ended up in the dungeons. Once there, Neville stopped walking, he was lost on if this was really where they were supposed to be. Hermione walked into his back and almost sent them both to the floor. They would've ended up on the floor, if Harry hadn't grabbed both of them and stopped their fall.
Hermione immediately turned to Neville with her face glowing red. "Neville, I'm so sorry! Are you ok?" She asked. She wouldn't look him in the eyes due to embarrassment, but she could still make sure he was ok.
"It's o-o-ok, Hermione. N-n-no harm d-d-done." Neville squeaked as looked down at his shoes. For some reason his face felt hot, but for the life of him Neville couldn't understand why. They just stood there, red faced and staring at their shoes.
"Uh… Guy?" Harry spoke. Both Gryffindors snapped their heads up and looked at him. "Not that awkward and embarrassing silences aren't fun, but we still need to get to class." He commented with a smirk on his face. Hermione, still very red, turned and started marching down the corridor further into the dungeons. Neville, also still glowing crimson, quickly turned around and followed after her with a snickering Harry behind him.
Eventually, they found the rest of their class mates standing around a solid black door. Together the class stood in front of the door for almost fifteen minutes before the door was suddenly ripped open from the inside. Standing in the door way was a very tall man in a solid black duster, skin tight black shirt and black pants. The man had shoulder length greasy black hair and black eyes that seemed to glare into a person's very soul and steal all the light from the space around him.
"Get in here." The man growled at them with a scowl on his face. The students quickly moved into the room and tried to find seats. The room was barely lite and everything in the room was a dark color, making it hard to see where things were. All the desks were set in rows of four across and eight down. The man slammed the door shut just as the last student crossed the threshold. He almost crushed that student in the door, but the man almost seemed disappointed that he didn't. once everyone was seated, the man stocked down the aisles created by the desks to the front of the classroom.
"There will no silly Battling in this Class. I catch any Pokémon out; I will take them." He spoke as he passed the desks. Many students rushed to get their Pokémon into their Pokéballs, for fear that he would really take them. The man stood before the class with his back to them. Slowly he turned around. As he did, his eyes moved over the room looking for any Pokémon. Satisfied that there were no Pokémon, the man continued speaking. "You will call me Professor Snape. I have been tasked with trying to teach you about Potions. As there is no flashy pointless Battles, I do not expect most of you to understand and appreciate the subtle beauty of a summering caldron." Snape moved his eyes over the Slytherin students for a moment. "I can teach you what berries can save your Pokémon from Death's embrace. I can show you how to brew potions that would make a Pokémon unbeatable even against the Legendary Pokémon. For those of you who have the skill and talent…." Here, he paused for a moment as his eyes settled on Draco, making it clear who he meant by 'skill and talent'. "I can show you how to brew fame, bottle glory, and even the highest skill of a Potions' Master…. using parts of Pokémon themselves to make potions stronger than your wildest dreams. If you lot aren't the Dunderheads I usually have to teach, that is." As he finished speaking he glances over all the Gryffindors. More specifically, he glanced at one Harry Potter.
"Ah… Mr. Potter our new Celebrity. Tell me, which is stronger Berry Juice or Energy Root?" the professor drawled with a sneer at the young Gryffindor. Slowly the other students turned to look at Harry and they waited for his answer.
Harry looked down at his desk in thought. Both Energy Root and Berry Juice were used to heal Pokémon but Harry didn't know anything about them other than that... wait didn't Hermione read something about these two in their text books? Harry smiled slightly before he looked back up at the Professor. "Energy Root is stronger than Berry Juice, Sir."
Harry could see a flicker of surprise in the older man's eyes, but it was gone before anyone else could see it. Professor Snape turned his attention to Hermione. "Ms. Granger, where would I find a bezoar?" The man growled.
Hermione didn't even have to think as she answered. "The best place to find one, is in a Gogoat's stomach Sir." This time there was no surprise in his eyes, but curios interest as his stare moved to land on Neville.
"Mr. Longbottom, what would I get if I mixed a Cheri berry with a Chesto berry?" Professor Snape growled again but this time it didn't sound as aggressive or malicious as it did before. Only Harry and a certain blonde Slytherin seemed to hear the difference in his voice, though.
Now Neville might not know much about a lot of things, but one thing he did know was plants. The House of Longbottom was one of the only families in the Avalon region to specialize in Grass type Pokémon, meaning they were one of the only families that tried learning everything they could about flora and vegetation. That included most things made from berries too. Neville, not for the first time, was very thankful for that fact. "th-they m-m-make the c-cure for the D-d-draught of L-living D-d-death p-potion, Sir." Knowing about the Longbottom family specialty, Professor Snape didn't even react to Neville knowing the answer.
The professor looked the trio over for a moment before he sneered at them. "Well… it seems like I finally have a group of Gryffindors who aren't worthless idiots. It was bound to happen eventually, I suppose." Snape sighed as he shook his head, like he was depressed about a group of Gryffindors answering his questions correctly. The Slytherin portion of the class snickered at Gryffindors. Unfortunately for Gryffindor, a certain redhead wasn't just going to sit there and take that.
Ron quickly stood up as he scowled at the Slytherins. "Oi! Shut your bloody mouths!" he shouted at them. The room was dead silent as Ron glared at the now silently grinning students in green. Professor Snape slowly stalked towards the redhead with a glare of his own. As he drew closer, Ron turned to look at the Professor. Snape came to a stop in front of the redhead's desk and slowly looked his over before sneering at the boy.
"ten points from Gryffindor for interrupting my class and threating your fellow students, though by the red hair and loud mouth, I'd say you're a Weasley so it expected. Acres, when will you people stop breeding." Ron's face and ears turned as red as his hair while several Slytherins laughed.
"You can't- "
"Another Five points for talking back to a teacher, and I can do whatever I want Mr. Weasley." Professor Snape growled with a smirk on his face. "shall we add a detention to the list?"
Ron glared at the Professor with his face turning a darker red then before. "No Sir." He groaned out through clutched teeth. The redhead dropped down back into his seat and crossed his arms over his chest.
Professor Snape stalked backed towards his desk. "Now that we've dealt with the interruption, open your books to page fifteen. By the end of class, I expect you to have finished reading the first two chapters and be ready to answer my questions about them. There will be no noise while you read or detention will be your new best friend." The man commanded as he sat at his desk.
PppppppppppppppppppppppppppP
Ron stormed out of Professor Snape's classroom with a scowl on his face. A few mintues later, the rest of the class came walking out, most of them with their heads down or with grins on their faces. Unsurprisingly, the ones with grins were Slytherins. Almost everyone else not so much. In the end, Snape had giving out six detentions and had taken no less than twenty points from every house but Slytherin.
Harry walked with Hermione on his right and Neville on his left as they left. Thankfully, the little group managed to avoid detention, but Harry still lost five points for Gryffindor and Neville lost ten. Now with classes done for the day, the trio was off to Gryffindor Tower to drop off their school supplies before heading to dinner.
Hermione took point as they made their way there. Along the way most of their house mates joined up with them on the stairs. Once they got there, Harry typed in the codes for the now large group to enter the Common Room. Everyone quickly moved to store their stuff in their dorms before meeting back up in the Common Room.
Harry and Neville were just coming down from the Boys' dorm staircase when Seamus called over all the first years to look at a flyer on the wall near the door.
NOTICE FOR ALL FIRST YEARS:
RECREATIONAL USE OF HMs CLASS WILL BE TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY.
THIS WILL BE AN ALL MORNING CLASS AND WILL BE TAUGHT BY RANGER HOOCH.
PLEASE GATHER IN THE MAIN COUTYARD AFTER BREAKFAST.
-Professor McGonagall.
Excited murmurs broke out amongst the first years. Ron, Dean and Seamus were all but shouting about how awesome it would be to use HMs whenever they wanted. With all the yelling, Hermione wasn't interested in their conversation, so she motioned with her head towards the door at Harry and Neville. Neville, who looked terrified yet curious about some of the things that Ron was saying, quickly followed her. Harry ignored the group of other boys after Ron talked about learning the move Fly and using the move to do free falls into the ocean. The dark haired Gryffindor was more interested in the idea of learning just what the HMs could do outside of battle. A shout of his name from Hermione, got Harry running to catch up with his friends. For the rest of the night and all of dinner, Harry could only think about the HMs class in two weeks.
PpppppppppppppppppppppP
And, I is done for this chapter. Now we've met Draco's Pokémon and we got a look at some of the other cast mates' Pokémon too.
I can imagen a six-year-old Draco trying to name his Pokémon a dorky name like Poison-Awesomeness, only for it to not work. And before anyone questions the cool would-be name, you guys all know at the age of six a name like that is awesome. I actually had a Scuirtle named Water King once. As for the fact Draco's Pokémon is shy, well I felt that it would kinda balance Draco's cocky outgoing personality.
Anyway what do you dudes think of the Professors, yes I know they aren't like that in the book. I like them like this.
Review if you want, if not it won't hurt my feelings. Your wants and desires for the story just won't happen that's all.
