Silver Moons and Golden Suns

Rose: Heyo everyone, Rose here! I'm deciding to write this up while I have nothing to do, and while Luna deals with making the start of the next chapter to Unknown. Since school started for me, she starts them, I spell and grammar check them and help the ending part, so yeah. Before it was more equal, but school is a pain T^T anyways, enjoy this chapter!

One moment, then two. Then even three. Yet the redhead could still feel things, like the floor he was standing on, his hair falling over his eyes, and his fists clenched tightly, waiting for the end to come. But for some reason, it didn't. Why? Why was the end being prolonged? That ball was flying straight for him. Unless something shielded him from the hit. Or maybe, it was someone. Opening his eyes, the Dollan saw the raven haired boy on the ground, clutching his face, while a sticky red substance came flowing out of his hands and dripped slowly onto the ground. Silver panicked. He kneeled next to his classmate- friend would be more accurate- and slowly tried to pry his hands off of his face. After a few minutes, Silver could piece together what had happened.

Ethan had jumped at the ball and got hit in the face, with enough force to cause his nose to bleed a little more rapidly than what was safe. Ethan, a boy he was to watch over and judge his ability to be a traitor, had saved him from shattering. His chest began to ache, with an emotion Silver rarely felt. Happy. Glad. Thankful. Grateful! He owed this boy his life for what he did. But what could the Dollan offer that would make up an injury and a lot of questioning looks? He would have to think and read on the subject for answers.

A teacher came over and grabbed Ethan, stealing the boy away to get medical attention. The red head faked a stomach ache to leave the building earlier. Grabbing his bag and clothes, he ran off, grabbing a phone and calling for his mother to come and get him. He sat under a tree near the school and waited for the gray car to pull up, climbing in once it had arrived. His mother was like him. A Dollan. He looked as though he had gotten her red hair, although hers was longer and shinier. Her red-brown eyes were nowhere near close to Silver's eyes, or even his father's. It was a welcome color in a world of gray and black.

When they got home, Silver was told that his father was staying at work overnight, so they would be alone for dinner. The smaller Dollan hugged his mother before heading off to his room, putting his bag on his desk before moving to his bookshelf. His father had given him plenty of things to read, as to make him seem like a normal human. He grabbed a book on emotions and different ways they could be expressed, but quickly he found that it was of little use to him. Looking through other books of similar topics yielded the same results to him. He gave a sigh of annoyance before plopping on his bed. His door creaked opened, and his silver eyes watching as a small Growlithe padded over and hopped on his bed, licking his face, causing the other to laugh.

It took convincing, but his mother had finally convinced his father to let them have one as a pet, and Silver was happy. It was a small little Pokemon, its nails severely dulled so it couldn't hurt the Dollans in the house, along with a small collar with a tag on it labeled Patches. His father hated the name, but his mother loved it, so it stayed. The small red puppy always knew when he was down, which made him silently thank the powers above that he was allowed to have one. Running his fingers through its tuft of tan fur on top of its head, Silver got to thinking. Ethan had disliked mistreatment of Pokemon at the hands of Team Rocket and the secret police. The pale boy wouldn't really like it if his Pokemon was hurt or forced to hurt anyone else. Maybe… Maybe Ethan had a point there. They were more living than Dollans were after all. They deserved equal respect. Which made the red head think of the perfect way to thank the tan boy for his help. He would just need to ask his mother how to do it.

Half an hour later, and a nose covered in white bandages, Ethan was sent home, his mother already waiting anxiously. Thankfully she didn't ask of how or why but just made sure he was okay, before rushing to get an ice pack for his nose. If she had asked those questions, the golden eyed boy wouldn't know how to respond. He jumped in front of a rogue ball aimed for his extremely fragile classmate. The pain was pretty bad, but it probably would've been worse for Silver, since he was ceramic and his face would've shattered. Which made it doubtful he would still survive afterward. It was just instinct for him to jump and protect him. Ethan didn't know why.

After a watered down soup for dinner, and a quick goodnight to his mother, he retired to his bed. The only thing he could focus on was Silver's face of terror. His eyes were wide, body froze in place. It took him a long time to even think of putting his arms up and hoping the ball wasn't as hard as it looked. What bothered Ethan was his expression. Silver looked like he was accepting the end. And the raven haired boy couldn't allow that. His body moved on its own as if it wanted to save the boy and let him live just a bit longer. He will admit, the other's presence was welcomed after a few words, and that he would miss him if he had just disappeared. Not to mention traumatized if his pale face and those moon like eyes like shattered like glass and ceramic.

Quickly, he shook the thought out of his head. No more thinking about the maybes and ifs. It was time for bed. And thankfully it was Friday. Which meant tomorrow he could go to the park and run around and maybe find a new secret spot to hide out from the police and from generally the rest of the city.

Morning came around quickly, and after breakfast, Ethan was out of the house in a light jacket and was heading towards the park, which was a green area in the city surrounding a massive and ancient building called the Bellsprout Tower. The tower was always leaning back and forth, but the city insisted it was safe, saying that it was a precious landmark that needed to stay. Ethan liked it because it was easy to sneak into and no one really got in trouble for exploring it. Propping open an old screen door, he climbed inside and started to ascend the leaning tower. The giant pillar in the center was the same as always. Shaking back and forth, making the rest of the tower move ever so slightly. Running up the stairs he got to his favorite floor. It was like a little maze with ramps everywhere. The raven haired boy happily jumped over the ramps, heading to the next staircase. Right before he jumped the final ramp, something caught his eye. A small little box. Changing course, he jumped over to it and picked it up. It was light and really small. Opening the lid, he took a peek at the contents. It was a set of bracelets, one with yellow and golden beads, a small charm vaguely looking like the rainbow bird Ho-Oh, while the other was beaded in silver and light gray, with a Lugia charm on it. The Silver and Golden Pokemon. Setting the bracelets inside the box, he pocketed it and quickly descended the tower. It was probably lunchtime now, and he needed to get home before his mother worried about him.

When he walked in, the meal was already on the table, along with a scrap of paper. His mother was nowhere in sight. He walked up to the table and checked note. 'Dear Ethan, Work called in so I had to leave for the day. Eat up. Also, a boy came by asking if you were home. Red hair, gray eyes. I told him to come back again in a few hours. Love you! Mom.' Silver had come by? But why would he… How did he know where he lived? The only real thing Ethan could do was eat his cold meal and wait for the silver eyed boy to come by.

Rose: That's all for now! Fun fact, that intro note was written about a month ago. See how hard school sidetracked me? Anyways, I'm on break, so chapters will be coming out! Although, more for my new story which is a rewrite of A World of Darkness. Go check that out, man! Chapter 2 came out! (it's a bit different from AWOD though. Blood on the Black Mirror! Go take a looksie? Please? owo?)
