A young dark-haired Becca opens her eyes to jump out of her bed full of energy, she ran out of her room and down the hallway to get to her daddy's room. Still sleeping, Becca jumps on top of her daddy's bed to wake him up. "Daddy, daddy, wake up its morning," Becca said innocently.

"Uh, hey there sweetie." Tommy Merlyn grunted as he was waking up. "Who needs an alarm when I've got you to wake me up." He said and then took his little girl into his arms, smiling as he listens to her giggling. Still holding her, Tommy got up and headed to the kitchen. "So, oatmeal today, Becca?"

"Oatmeal's yucky," Becca replied.

"Yeah, but it's good for you." He countered.

During the middle of their meal, Tommy was eating with Becca when she dropped a bombshell on him. "Daddy." She said.

"Yes, sweetie." He replied.

"Why doesn't mommy come home?" She asked, startling her dad.

"Becca, we've been over this ... Mommy's ... Mommy's gone." He said sadly and reluctantly.

"But I've seen her online." She said.

Tommy was afraid of this as best as he tried he knew he couldn't keep this from Becca forever, this might be one of the few times he's hated the internet. His wife Laurel, god rest of her beautiful soul, had her life taken over by a doppelganger of her's from another Earth; yeah he still couldn't believe that things like that really existed. Now she was the District Attorney in Star City, which was far away from where they lived now. Tommy had to figure out how to explain to his daughter how that woman in Star City, looked exactly like her mother but at the same time was not her mother.

"Okay, Becca, do you ... do you about twins?" He asked.

"No." She answered.

"Okay, so, there are people in this world who can look exactly like someone else; that's what twins are. So the woman in Star City, she looks like mommy and even has her name but, but it's not her honey. I'm sorry." He explained with difficultly.

"So it's not mommy?" She said looking down disappointed.

"No sweetie I'm sorry." He said as if it was the hardest thing he could do.

"I really want to have mommy back." She said sadly.

"I know, me too." He admitted. "But you know what?"

"What?" She asked.

"You may not have mommy anymore but you'll always me, and Grandpa Quentin, Auntie Sara, and all of mommy and daddy's friends. You'll never be alone sweetie." He reassured her.

"I know daddy." She said bluntly.

"And know something else, Becca?" He said getting right next to her.

"What daddy?" She asked.

"Mommy's with you all the time. Every time you close your eyes, you'll see her, and every time you or someone else says your full name, your mom's family name; you'll know she's always with you." He further explained.

Getting off her small chair, Becca hugged her dad in the most adorable manner. "I love you, daddy." She said.

"I love you too, Dinah Rebecca Lance." He stated lovingly.

Author's Notes: So it's probably a long shot I know but with this new Prime Earth having Tommy and Laurel married in this reality, what if there is a possibility that they have a child together. I'm not exactly sure how they could concede it with this reality's timeline. I'm also not sure about how I would feel about this because they gave Laurel a husband and daughter in this new reality only to still have her killed.

As for Becca's name, there are some fans who wonder why Laurel goes by her middle name instead of her first name. I've just always assumed that "Dinah" is a family name passed on for tradition and Rebecca is after Tommy's late mom. As for why Becca goes by Lance instead of Merlyn, it is something I speculated that Tommy would do as he doesn't want his father's legacy to loom over his daughter; I actually wonder how difficult Tommy's life must've been after the Undertaking being the son of a mass murderer in this new reality.
