A unexpected rescue

The pipes around him leaked but Adam was running to fast to even realize what was happening to the city around him. Being born in Rapture nine years ago Adam learned how to run and how to hide, after the New Years Eve Massacre of 1959. However these two splicers had it out for him. The first one had found him hiding in a crate moments ago and demanded his Adam slug but Adam had no slug to give he didn't even know what a slug was actually. When adam tried to run the splicer had called his buddy who emerged from the nearby vent to chase him.

Hooks flew by inches to his face the splicer cackled from the ceiling "come here little fish" he yelled.

"leave me alone" Adam screamed back, bounding through puddles he knew he couldn't keep up this pace much longer.

"Oi you take the ground I'll stay up here well gut em" the second splicer yelled.

"That sweet sweet Adam I can smell it like a delicious plump piggy roasting" the splicer all but sang jumping onto the floor now a few feet behind him.

Tears started to form at the corner of Adam's eyes getting to tired to run anymore , now was the splicers chance leaping of the ground the splicer pounced coming down right on top of Adams back he felt the pain and weight "Teddy!" Adam screamed his favorite bear the one his mother gave him two years ago before disappearing now discarded ripped out of his hands by the splicer on his back.

"what's this it has no adam " he said with disappointment.

"Forget about the toy" the ceiling splicer said jumping down from the ceiling taking the bear throwing it across the hall.

Adam watched in terror, the flood gates now open sobbing and crying freely , crying abouted how much he hated the city crying about how lonely he was wishing for his family back. The days where his father would take him to Ryan amusements and his mother would hound his father with new kitchen ideas.

"Where to cut first ay duke" the splicer ontop of him said practically drooling with excitement. The splicer's voice bring Adam back to reality.

"Anywhere you want brother "his hooks scraping Adam's face and lifting his hair all he could do was shut his eyes and try to shut them out his hands flatted on the ground he felt it, an almost faint thudding down the hall now growing stronger "oi quit your blubbering I need silence to conduct this orchestra" the splicer yelled adding a strong back hand to Adams face to prove his point effectively knocking him out.

A gut wrenching roar and red hellish glow emitted from the end of the hallway. The splicers now look of confidence and victory turned to that of shear terror but it was to late , the big daddy was nearly upon them "lets scram " his brother called from the ceiling "agreed" dukes brother said to frightened to say more leaping into the air "grab my hand fox" reaching down to fox a stream of ice shot through the air catching onto Foxs back encasing his body in ice.

Duke looked down at the big daddy who had frozen his brother. Frost covered his left arm and some of his suit the drill non-existant on his right arm but instead a six barrel modified shot gun seeing the big daddy prepare another blast in his left arm for himself Duke began to leap away narrowly avoiding the shot gun shells fired at him . The big daddy stomped up to his brothers frozen body lifting his weighted boots up he crushed Dukes brother fox with a Rapture shaking roar he could feel his rage taking over loosing sight of himself the ice tried to encase his body sending cold chilling waves out as his body spasmed.

It was then that he felt it, that calm feeling of peace and serenity he had felt when he had smelled that amazingly sweet smell the same smell his daughter had once had drawing him to the leaking corridor. Gazing down to the young boy on the floor he felt it again only so much stronger calming his violent raging seas the big daddy lumbered up to the boy placing his shot gun on his back next to his air tanks he rubbed his hand down the boys bleeding face. That was it, this boy was to be his charge this was to be his second chance and he would kill anyone who tried to harm his charge and steal his redemption.

With his porthole now admitting a happy green light he scooped the boy into his arms. Walking on he noticed the teddy bear on the floor shifting the boy into his other arm the big daddy picked up the bear and placed it on the his chest watching him wrap his small arms around the wet ripped Bear along with the smile that came with the action confirmed his feelings, no one would harm his charge not again he thought stomping off yellow light emitting and a shard of frost waiting for anyone dum enough to try to interfere with his plans.

In the next chapter I plan on having Adam awaken to meet his new protector, also as a side note I do intend on Adam having more then one protector that's all I'll say for now thanks again for the read.
