Chapter 6 – The Departure.
"Pleased to meet you both – my name is Bloom and this is my friend Flora." The orange-red haired girl introduced herself to the two newcomers that had arrived in Magix Town.
One of them was a girl with shoulder-length white hair and crystal blue eyes. Her attire consisted of a white V-neck shirt underneath a short-sleeved purple jacket and a pair of black capris along with two sets of fingerless gloves that were colored grey with heart-symbols on the front. Her feet were covered by grey socks underneath black combat boots with purple laces. The only piece of accessory she owned was a checkered scarf wrapped around her neck.
The second one was a boy with short spiky black hair and green eyes. His attire was different from the girl's – a white t-shirt underneath a red short-sleeved jacket with black trims with a crown symbol on the front and black pants along with a pair of fingerless gloves. His footwear consisted of red-grayish shoes while the only piece of accessory he wore was a star-chained necklace around his neck.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both as well. My name is Lyra Highwind – one of the companions that Ruby requested to join you both on your adventure. As for the boy, his name is Kol Nogard. Both of us will be assisting you on this little adventure against the Heartless." The girl known as Lyra told the two girls while Kol just shrugged and turned away.
Flora frowned at his behavior but Bloom didn't notice it and instead talked to Lyra. "Glad to have you on board with us. We could definitely use an extra set of helping hands to assist us in the fight against the Heartless." Lyra gave her a nod in response with a smile.
"You'll definitely won't regret it! Kol and I aren't the kind of kids to be pushed around or sit on the sidelines – my main skill is being a mage/knight while my friend is a badass powerhouse. Ain't that right, Kol?" Lyra asked the black-haired boy who just shrugged and just said. "Yeah, I guess."
Flora continued to frown at his behavior – why was he acting this way? From the looks of things he wasn't acting very friendly like Lyra was… if anything, he was being a rude and uncaring. Though she shouldn't just assume anything yet – maybe there was a reason on why he was acting this way.
"Great! In any case, Kol and I have some things we need to wrap up in Magix Town before leave and our ship need a little bit of parts in case it breaks down during travels. We won't be long that's for sure – in the meantime, rest and prepare." Lyra suggested.
Bloom nodded since it was a good idea – their journey was about to start and they weren't even prepared for it. The wielder made a mental note to thank Lyra later.
Lyra and Kol left soon afterwards as Bloom and Flora started to think of what to take… even though they arrived in Magix Town with nothing but the clothes off their backs.
"We don't really have anything to pack, do we?" Flora asked her friend who just shrugged and responded. "Not really. I mean… going on an adventure sounds fun but I really want to prepare properly and get the important stuff that we need."
Flora nodded in agreement just as the door popped open – it was Tecna that entered the room. "Hey, sorry to disturb you both but I was wondering if you would like to join me for some shopping. We have to get you the supplies needed for your little adventure after all." She told them.
Bloom and Flora looked at each in surprise before they shrugged and agreed to come with Tecna. "Sure, we'll come. Flora and I need to prepare after all for the trip." She told the magenta-haired girl who nodded.
"My thoughts exactly. Luckily, the items we'll buy are the ones you need on the trip the most… plus, a little extra something for Flora here since she loves flowers." Tecna gave her a wink as Flora blushed heavily once more.
Why did she feel this way whenever Tecna was teasing her or inside the room? She had no idea on this matter but she hoped that it wasn't anything serious…
In any case, Flora got up as did Bloom – both of them were ready to come and assist Tecna with the shopping. "We're ready." They both said as Tecna grinned.
"Great! Let's get a move on!" Tecna said in an excited tone as all three girls exited the room to go and do some shopping.
(Sometime later…)
The shopping was nearing its ending spree as the girls were walking back to headquarters with an assortment of goodies in the shopping bags:
Vials of Potions;
Some Ethers;
A camping set for taking breaks;
And other miscellaneous crap that Bloom didn't catch at all or check up during the shopping. Oh, well… anything that helps during this journey would be very useful. Speaking of items, the girls also bought some food and drinks to keep themselves refreshed and rejuvenated. Can't go to battle on an empty stomach after all…
Bloom was glad that Tecna took her and Flora out to shop – it gave them both an opportunity to explore the rest of the town and take in the surroundings. It was both joyful yet sad to see the situation that was in front of her.
So many people that had lost their worlds to the darkness and the Heartless – some bitter while others hopeful that they might be restored someday. Flora was affected by it and she couldn't stop crying no matter what.
She really cared deeply about life since to her it was truly precious and nobody was to destroy it… no matter what. Yet there were people out in the universe who wished to break-up this peace and bring about their own brand of world order: the Trix for example.
That was why it fell to her and Flora to stop them no matter what… and restore everything back to normal along with finding Stella. Both girls missed her so much – especially Bloom.
Luckily, they had help in the form of Ruby Rose and Tecna whom them were planning to assist – plus, Kol and Lyra would be joining them especially. It would be good to have companions to help on this journey.
Speaking of companions, Flora and Tecna definitely got along well during the stay in Magix Town – in fact, both were chatting and discussing things that didn't involve Bloom that much. She was alright with that since Flo technically needed to make some new friends – it was one of the things that were on the list when leaving Gardenia Island.
Speaking of friends, she wondered if anyone else had made it off Gardenia Island – not that she knew anyone else from there… well, besides Mitzi and her gang of cronies. The orange-red haired girl only had a small number of friends so it wasn't that important: but still she wished them well and hoped that they were okay at least.
Though she was worried about her parents since she had no idea where they were and if they were alive and well… so overprotective and caring. She missed them as much as she missed Stella every day. Keeping her fingers crossed, she hoped that they were okay just like every other person on Gardenia Island.
"Well… we have arrived." Tecna's voice interrupted Bloom's private thoughts as they arrived back at headquarters. Thank goodness since they could finally place the bags down and rest their hands for a bit.
"Thank goodness." Bloom said as the two girls nodded.
"Definitely… thanks for coming along to shop with me girls. I appreciate it." Tecna thanked them as Bloom and Flora smiled with nods.
"You're welcome, Tecna. Glad we could assist." Flora told the magenta-haired girl who just grinned and gave her a thumbs-up.
"Welcome. You'll keep that flower safe, right?" Tecna asked the honey-browned haired girl who just blushed and nodded furiously. "Y-yeah… I promise." She told the magenta-haired girl.
Bloom just giggled while Tecna continued to grin. "Alright. I'm holding you to that… now let's get the stuff inside and then prepare you both for the trip." She told the two girls who nodded in return.
All three individuals went inside to pack up and prepare for the journey that was about to begin. Yet they all failed to realize the mysterious shadow that was watching them via one of the alleyways.
It soon procured something for its pockets and contacted an unknown person. The device rang for a couple of seconds until it went with a beeping sound. "Yes? Do you have something to report, sister?" The caller on the other side inquired.
"Definitely, Icy. It seems that things are progressing far better than we could ever hope for… the wielder and her friend are just about ready to depart. How's Darcy's mission progressing?" The shadowed individual with a feminine voice tone inquired to the speaker on the other side that was Icy.
"Slowly but coming together… we've found one of the Princesses and Darcy is going to have her delivered to us as soon as possible." Icy told the female shadow who just giggled.
Everything was progressing far better than they could hope for… soon, all the worlds would be theirs for the taking.
"Good… how's our newbie doing so far?" The female shadow asked as Icy chuckled a bit.
"So far… pretty well. In exchange for helping us, we've agreed to assist her in the search for her friends… that will allow us to deceive her and make her do whatever we want. In addition, I want to test out the wielder as well… perhaps we might be able to get her to join our sides as well." Icy explained.
"How will we do that though?" The female shadow asked with a hint of curiosity but all she received was a laugh.
"All in due time, dear Stormy. For now… just keep an eye on the wielder and her friends. We'll see what we can use to manipulate her into joining us." Icy told the shadow called Stormy.
Stormy just sighed. "If you say so, sis. Gotta go and continue my assignment… until later, Icy." She wished her over the device.
"Same. Happy spying, Stormy." Icy wished and then disconnected the call.
Stormy pocketed the device and stared at the Magix Town resistance for a little bit longer until she conjured a spell on herself and disappeared… in the blink of an eye!
