How dare him! How dare him not tell her he is alive! How could he show up in Port Charles and not even call her? Anna was waiting for the signal to lower herself down from the helicopter. She was not going to stand for this kind of treatment. He will pay for not telling her he was alive all this time. Anna started lowering herself as soon as she got the signal. Oh, thank goodness Robin is right there, she's fine.

As soon as she took off her helmet she knew he was watching her, that he was staring at her. She went and hugged Robin first, it had been too long since they had seen each other. Handing Robin her weapon she turned to Robert. There he is, alive and looking back at her. He still looks amazing, she could just kiss him. No, you are mad at him. Yes, I am she thought, then he spoke.

"Anna, it's been a while." My god, she is right there, was all he could think.

"Yeah, it's been too long," Anna said with a slight grin then she kicked him in the side of the head. All the anger she had been feeling since finding out he was alive when she got back from assignment came pouring out. She was beating on him, Robert tried to protect himself, tried to stop her. Then there was gunfire, and she was in his arms. It felt so right, instantly she felt a peace wash over her. She quickly turned not wanting to let herself get swept up in being this close to him. Robin had fired her weapon in the air, what was going on?

Robert still had his hands on her hips, she's here. Anna is right here, she was just beating on him but that doesn't matter, she is here. He wants to pull her into his arms and kiss her but knew he couldn't. Anna then turned to the other people there, stepping away from him. It had only been for a moment but she had been in his arms again. He felt a little shell shocked now, he expected Anna to be upset when she finally found out he was alive. The fact she had come out of the sky to kick his ass amused him to no end. Now he couldn't take his eyes off her.

What was Robin saying? She wants the three of them to talk. That's a good thing, he knows they should talk. He follows behind them as they go to find a room they can talk privately in. Will she listen to him, can he tell her what she needs to hear? No, this was for Robin, this was her chance to find out what had happened, what she needed to know from them. If he was going to talk to Anna it would have to wait.

By the time he left the room, he had admitted things he hadn't known he would. Anna had admitted things he hadn't expected to hear. Robert wandered off down the hall, not yet ready to face the other people there. He found a bedroom at the far end of the hall and went inside. He walked over to the window and looked out into the night. He knew it was unlikely that Anna will understand why he did what he did at first but he was hopeful that one day she will hear him out and see that he did what he did for her. He had done it all for Anna and Robin, he gave up everything for them, so they could go on living.

Robert sighed in the dark room. Coming home was supposed to be a good thing. He should be welcomed in with open arms but he knew that wasn't going to be the case for him. If anyone should understand the choices he had made, it should be Anna. She was the one he had wanted to talk to first. She had been the first person he had gone to see when the WSB let him out of their agreement. He hadn't expected her to have moved on already, he hadn't even imagined that could happen but it had. When he went to Pine Valley to talk to her, she was married and expecting a child. The one thing he thought he had was gone, he couldn't interfere in her life and without her, he had known Robin would never understand what he had done and why. Robert had also tried to call Anna the moment he found out he was going to Port Charles. He had called her several times since then as well but she had been on assignment and he couldn't just leave a message. He had wanted to talk to her. He still had wanted her to be the first one to know he was alive.

When Anna and Robin walked back into the main room where the others were Anna instantly noticed that Robert wasn't there. Where was he? She wanted to talk to him, Anna was stocked by how sure she was about that now. She had gotten to let her anger out, they had bared their souls to Robin now she wanted to talk to Robert alone. To find out what had happened, where had he been, why had he stayed away? When Robin started talking to Lulu Anna slipped out of the room. Everyone else was in that room except Robert so she was going to find him.

Anna went down the same hall the room they had talked in was, she passed that room thinking he may have wanted to be alone and gone this way. At the end of the hall, she looked into a room and saw him standing by the window. "Do you want to be alone?"

He didn't turn to her but spoke, "I wanted to tell you first."

"What's that?" Anna asked as she stepped into the room.

"That I was alive. Anna, I know you should have known first. I tried to call you before getting to Port Charles. I went to Pine Valley to see you but you had moved on." He turned to look at her. "I know you hate me, I know you must feel like I wronged you but the first thing I did when I was let out of the agreement was, go to Pine Valley. All I wanted to do was see you, to tell you I was alive."

"What?" Anna closed the door and stepped further into the room. Robert walked over and turned on the lamp so there was some light in the room. "What agreement? Start at the beginning."

Robert walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, he patted the bed beside him. Anna sat down close to him but left space between them, she looked up and their eyes met. Oh, how she has missed him. Robert then told her about the agreement he had made and why. What he had to do for the WSB. Then he told her about going to Pine Valley and seeing her with David. He had found out who he was and that they were together and that was when he knew he could never go home. That he had saved her life but had still lost her.

She had listened to everything he told her and wanted to clarify a little "You did it to save my life. They would have carried out the BlackBox order if you hadn't. I would have been killed." Robert nodded at her but didn't speak. "Why didn't you approach me when you came to Pine Valley?" Anna thought she might already know but wanted to see what he would say.

"Anna, you had already been through so much. You had found a way to get on with your life. What right did I have to interfere with that?"

"You were my husband!"

"Was I? Did it still matter after all that time? Our marriage was invalid because Holly turned up alive, you had a new life. I would only have caused you more pain."

Anna saw the tears in his eyes. "I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you like that. Even if I didn't know I was. I didn't set out to hurt you but I still did."

"Anna, don't be ridiculous."

"I can see it on your face." Anna reached out and took his hand. "We went through very different things after that explosion. I think I understand why you made the choice you did. Do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love, no matter what it costs you."

She does understand, Robert realized, seeing the softness in her eyes. He put his head down and sighed when Anna put her hand on his shoulder. "I tried calling you."

Anna reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone and checked it, there were a lot of missed calls from a number she didn't know. She had checked her messages but hadn't really looked at the numbers that had called before this. "Is this your number?" Anna asked, showing him her phone.

"Yeah, it is. You were on assignment. I tried."

Anna trusted everything he was telling her, there was no reason to doubt him, no reason he would lie about this. "You wanted to talk to me first when you could. Why was that?"

Robert looked up at her, "I wanted to see you. All I wanted was to finally be able to tell you I was alive. To tell you how I still felt," he paused, "still feel." They have both already admitted that they still love each other while talking to Robin so why hold back.

She had been so angry with him, now listening to him. Finding out what he had gone through, the truth of what had happened, it wasn't anger she was feeling. Anna put her hand on his cheek, she just wanted to touch him she thought with a little grin. "I think the others might come looking for us soon."

"You're probably right. I'm sure I could find a bottle of wine. We can let the others see we're both still alive and enjoy a drink." He wanted to keep talking to her but didn't want to have Luke or Holly come looking for them. This had nothing to do with either of them or the foolishness that had led them all here.

"I could use a glass of wine, maybe a few glasses," Anna said smiling at him.

"Alright, could I interest you in coming back here later to talk some more."

"I think that is a good idea."

Anna started to stand up but Robert grabbed her hand, "It is so good to see you again."

Again Anna saw tears in his eyes, "It really is," then she leaned in and hugged him tightly. Quickly Robert's arms were around her holding her close. He buried his face in her hair, breathing her in. It felt so good to hold her again. "I think we should go back to the others for a while," Anna said not moving from his arms.

"Is it wrong that I want to kiss you?" Robert asked then leaned back and looked in her eyes.

"No," she answered simply then she grinned and stood up. "Come on." Robert stood up and they left the room together.

As they got close to the main room, Robert paused, "I'm just going to grab that wine I mentioned." He grinned when she flashed him a smile before turning into the main room. She doesn't hate him, Robert thinks as he grabs a bottle of wine and then sees the glasses and turns to pick them up as well. He would understand if she was angry but she doesn't seem to be angry now.

Luke walked over to him as Robert entered the room, "I see you're still alive. I was a little concerned about your safety," he said with a bit of a laugh.

"We all needed to talk, that's all. Anna and I even talked alone for a bit."

Luke understood the importance of them all having a chance to talk and wasn't going to tease Robert about it. "Using glasses tonight, why are we being so formal?"

"The glasses aren't for you, I'm hoping to have a different drinking buddy this evening," Robert said watching Anna and Robin across the room talking to each other.

Luke looked over at them as well, "Maybe I should see if she'd be interested in me, could be fun" he said with a playful grin.

"That's my wife," Robert said quickly. Then he looked at Luke, realizing he's overreaction but still not wanting Luke to even think of hitting on Anna. "Don't, just don't."

"Alright, I get it."

"She's the one I gave up everything for. I haven't seen her in years. I don't need you getting in the way of us talking about what's happened during our time apart."

"Yeah, because talking is all you have on your mind," Luke said with a bit of a laugh. "You do remember she was beating on you not all that long ago. That she came here to kick your ass."

"Yeah," Robert grinned then added, "but now I think she might be ready to talk, at least I hope she is." He held up the bottle in his hand, "I promised her a drink. Excuse me."

Holly watched Robert as he walked over to Anna. It was clear she is his main focus now. Holly was sure any flirting that might have been happening between them was done. The way he keeps looking at her, it was pretty clear Anna is all he's interested in now. She shouldn't be surprised, he had made it very clear that Anna is the one he chose, the one he loved when he went after her. This is the first time they've seen each other in years. What did she expect, him to not even want to talk to her? As he got closer Holly saw Anna smile, she might not be as angry with him as she was when she arrived now that they've talked.

Anna turned to him when Robert joined them, "Oh thank you." She held out her hand to take a glass. Robin reached out and took the other. Robert didn't even react, he just poured then both some wine.

"Thanks, Dad, I could really use this."

"Yeah, no problem."

"Was I that rough on you that you had to go lick your wounds for a while?" Robin asked him with a little smile.

"I wasn't licking my wounds, I was thinking about what really matters. You matter, I'm sorry that I hurt you, I never meant to."

"Thank you for saying that." Robin smiled at him then looked at her mom, she was smiling too. "Did you guys talk a little more? Was that where you went?"

"Yes, we did. I think there is a lot that we still need to talk about but it's a start." Anna put her arm around Robin, "I understand why he made the choices he did. It was all out of love for the two of us. I will not tell you how to feel because I'm not even sure how I feel. I just want you to know that."

"Alright," Robin said with a nod. She was glad they had talked, she looked up at her father. He had a little grin on his face and was watching Anna. He was happy she was here, no matter what happened now she knew her father was very happy to see her mother.

"I guess I'll need a glass if I'm going to have a drink with you," Robert said just as Lulu and Dylan joined them.

"I can get you a glass," Dylan said and quickly walked away again. He was in no rush to cross Robert again, or Anna if she could do that to him.

"That was quite the impressive entrance, Anna. You came all this way just to kick his butt."

"Yes, I did."

"That's some intense feeling driving you," Lulu said looking at Anna. "I mean you found out that Robert was alive and tracked him down just to beat him up."

"I wanted to make sure my daughter was safe, that following her father hadn't landed her in trouble," Anna said trying to play down what had really been the driving force behind her coming here.

Lulu grinned at Robin who was trying to keep a straight face. Love is that intense feeling you are talking about, Lulu, Robin though then noticed Dylan was already back. "Mom, you know for a fact Dad would not let anything happen to me."

Of course, Robin is right, "Yeah, I guess I do," Anna said as she grinned up at Robert. So what if she had come here to see him, yeah she was angry, yeah she had wanted to physically hurt him but mostly she had needed to see him.

It made him feel good knowing that neither of them doubted him about that, no matter what Robin's safety would always come first. Robert poured himself some wine then held up his glass. "It may not have been the reunion I had imagined but I am very happy to see you both again. That you know I'm alive and why I stayed away, mostly I'm just happy that we're all together even if it is just for a little while."

Robin then Anna held up the glasses, Anna just smiled at him. Robin said, "I will drink to that."

They started talking to the others, it wasn't like there was much else for them to do this evening. As time passed they all moved around talking to each other, all except Anna and Holly. They both seemed to want to keep a distance between each other. They all knew Holly's part in the outbreak in Port Charles, so Anna would rather not talk to her at all.

Anna's had a couple of glasses of wine now and was starting to think that it was time to talk to Robert alone again. She has been sneaking glances at him all evening and had noticed he always seemed to be watching her when she did, usually that lead to them grinning at each other. He had told her why he had made that agreement with the WSB and she understood completely why he had. Then she started thinking about what he had said about going to Pine Valley, about seeing her with David. That would have broken her if she had been in his shoes.

Anna was standing with Robin and Dylan but was now watching Robert who was standing with Luke, Holly and Lulu. Dylan was going on about some old movie so Anna turned and walked over to the other group. She put her hand on Robert's back as she stepped up beside him, then slid her arm through his, leaning against him.

Luke noticed how close Anna was to Robert and realized he must have been right about her willingness to talk to him. "Is Dylan going on about movies that are older than all of us again?"

"Yes, I kind of just left Robin to listen to him go on and on," Anna said with a little laugh. "I get that he's passionate but I had no idea what he was talking about." That made them all laugh, except Holly.

She had also noticed how close Robert and Anna were. What had happened, they had gone from fighting to her leaning on him as they all talked in a matter of a couple of hours? She wanted to say something but so far she and Anna had been being civil with each other so there was no point rocking the boat. She started listening to what Luke and Lulu were talking about not wanting to think about either Anna or why she is really here.

Anna tugged on Robert's arm slightly so he leaned down a little. "Is there still a bottle of wine for our talk?"

"Yes, there is." He let out a breath as he relaxed a little. He thought it was amazing that she was willing to talk to him. "Let me know when you're ready to talk and I'll get the wine."

Anna looked up at him, "I'm ready," then she smiled. "I'll just go tell Robin where we're going. I want us to be left alone so we can really talk." Then she turned and walked away.

Robert watched her walk back over to Robin who was still talking to Dylan. He started to turn but felt a hand on his shoulder, "Where are you off to?" Luke asked.

"Time for that drink I was talking about earlier, Anna wants to talk some more."

"Should I be worried about your safety?"

"No, we just need time to talk." Then he turned and left the room.

As Robert walked back into the hall with a bottle of wine Anna walked up behind him. Without saying a word she took his arm, then they walked down the hall together. They went to the same room they had been in before. Robert opened the wine and poured her some before Anna stepped over to the bed. "Sit with me." Robert filled his glass then joined her. As he sat down she asked, "What did you hope would happen when you went to Pine Valley?"

Alright, she isn't wasting any time he thought. "I knew you had to be the first person I talked to, that found out I was alive. I was going to tell you everything that had happened and that my feelings for you had never changed. I thought if you could understand why I had done what I did, that you'd at least forgive me. That you might even be able to help everyone else understand why I had to do it."

"So the first chance you had you came to see me?" Robert just nodded. "Why didn't you go see Robin after that?"

"After all that time, she was better off without me in her life. I wasn't the hero she had known, I was a hired gun that his family was better off without."

"Robert that's not true. You only did all those things for the WSB for your family. I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be a part of Robin's life again if it wasn't for you."

"At least I gave her that." There was such sadness in his words.

Anna didn't think she had seen him like this ever before, he's been through a lot in his life but this was different. He feels like he let them down, does he think Robin doesn't love him anymore? She's upset, but she will always love him even if she hasn't told him that yet. Anna hated seeing Robert like this. Yes, she had been furious when she heard he was alive. That he was in Port Charles and hadn't even bothered to try and contact her. Now she knows he did, that he had gone to see her in Pine Valley. Anna wasn't sure what she felt now but she knew he shouldn't be feeling the way he is. "Robert, you saved me. You gave up everything so I could live. Yes, that means Robin has me back in her life but she also has you."

"I don't think that's really that important to her now."

"She's hurt, she still doesn't understand what you did for her, just give her time Robert."

Robert took a sip of wine as he considered what she had said. "Do you need time? I told you what kept me away, I hope you understand."

Anna took his hand in hers, "I do understand why you did it. I also want to thank you for saving my life, for coming after me, for trying to rescue me."

"That was the only option I had, I couldn't not go after you, Anna. I needed to bring you home to us."

"I know that."

"Do you need time?"

"I need some more answers, I need to talk to you some more but you need this," then she leaned in and kissed him tenderly, lovingly. Her hand on his cheek as she leaned back and looked in his eyes, "I have missed you."

"Oh Anna, I have missed you every single day."

Anna put down her glass then took his and put it down as well. "When you came to Pine Valley, you were coming back to me, weren't you?"

"Yes, all I wanted was you. I was finally free and all I wanted was to go to you, to finally tell you I was alive and that I love you."

"I wish you had. I would have left him for you."

"What?"

"The man I love shows up, tells me he gave up everything so I could live and that he still loves me. Why would the reaction be any different than it was today?"

Was he really hearing this, was she really saying what he thinks?

"Where are you living at the moment?"

"Port Charles, I'm actually staying with the Quartermaines, why?"

"I'll need to know where to tell my supervisor I'll be. I do want to talk more, I want to hear about what you've been through. I want to tell you about what I've been through. I want time to do all of that. That can all wait, that is not what needs to happen tonight."

"No, what needs to happen tonight?"

"I think someone needs to see that he is loved, that he is needed." Anna put her hand to his cheek, "Thank you, Robert. You saved my life. You made sure Robin didn't lose me. We haven't seen each other since the night of that explosion."

"The night I lost everything."

"You didn't lose me."

"But,"

"No buts. Yes, I had a relationship with another man. I was trying to get over losing you. When I got my memory back there was so much pain, I just wanted to feel something else."

"Did you love him?"

"I thought I did, but maybe I just loved the idea of having someone in my life." He ran his fingers through her hair as she spoke. "I would never have tracked him down in a jungle just to see him again."

"You came here just to see me, I thought it was to beat the crap out of me," he said with a grin.

"You like it when I get a little rough," she teased back.

She's flirting, she's said she loves him, Robert knew he wasn't misreading this so he leaned in and kissed her. It started off tenderly but the passion started to build quickly. Their arms went around the other pulling each other closer. When the kiss ended he stroked her hair, "I didn't think this would happen after the greeting you gave me."

Anna gave him a quick kiss, "I was very mad at you, I'm not now."

Robert grinned at her then touched her cheek, "I'm glad."

"I can't be mad at you for saving my life. That doesn't mean I know what I am feeling either."

"I don't expect anything, Anna. I just wanted you to know why I did what I did. I have no idea what happens now."

"I think we still need a little time to figure this all out."

"Stay here with me, we can talk and when we get tired I would love to just hold you in my arms."

"I don't want to go back out there tonight either. I want to be alone with you." Anna stood up and took his hand as she picked up her glass again. Robert picked his up as well then she led him over to the window. "It is a beautiful night." Anna leaned against the window frame, looking out into the night.

Still holding her hand Robert leaned on the other side, he was watching her. "Beautiful doesn't even start to describe you." Anna turned to look at him. "I love you, Anna."

Anna smiled, "I love you too." She leaned in and he kissed her lovingly then they started talking again. Robert talked about what it had been like to return to Port Charles. Anna about why she hadn't wanted to return. They stood by the window, both leaning against the frame as they talked. They would look out at the night but mostly they were looking at each other.

When the wine was finished Robert led her over to the bed. "I think we should get comfortable." They both kicked off their shoes then climbed onto the bed. Robert turned on his side, putting his hand on her stomach. "Anna, do you have any idea how good it feels to know you don't hate me?"

"I could never hate you, Robert." She rolled to face him as well, Robert's hand sliding to her hip.

"Good."

Anna ran her fingers through his hair, "You look really good for a dead guy," Anna said with a smile.

"Not all that dead."

"No, you are not. I am very happy about that." Anna then put her hand on his chest needing to touch him. Slowly her hand slid down to his stomach she slid her hand up under his shirt. She sighed as she felt his body heat. "You're real. You're alive and you are here with me."

"I am."

She smiled as her hand moved along his abs then up to his chest, "Someone's been taking good care of themself."

"I often had to make quick getaways so staying in shape helped." Robert pulled her a little closer and she put her leg over his hip. "You are still breathtakingly beautiful. I never thought we would ever be doing this again."

"I've dreamed about this, about you." Then she kissed him as their hands started moving over each other. Anna moaned as he bit her lower lip then threw her head back as he kissed her neck. She started pulling at his shirt needing to touch him, he sat up enough that she could pull it off of him then claimed her lips again. "Mmmm."

Robert's hand moved under her shirt as Anna pushed him on his back more, leaning across him. She started moving her hips against him as he moaned.

"Someone's happy to see me."

"What did you think was going to happen, rubbing this sexy little body against me. Letting me touch you.

"Letting you touch me? I want you to touch me. I want to touch you." Anna reached down and ran her hand along his erection that was straining against his jeans.

"I want you so much." Then he claimed her lips again. His mind was racing, was this really happening? He's on the verge of being with Anna again, it almost seems unbelievable to him. He rolled them so he was on top and her leg went around him, holding him close.

Her hand moved up his back and into his hair, nothing has changed he still has that same effect on her. All she can think about is being with him again, then she hears someone yelling. She pulled back from the kiss to listen as Robert continued to kiss her neck, her shoulder. It wasn't Robin, she was sure of it. What was going on, no never mind, he is still kissing you. That was enough of a distraction though. Breathing heavily, "Wait baby, wait."

"What's wrong?" Robert asked close to her ear, not wanting to move away from her.

"We can't do this tonight. Not here."

"Don't make me let you go. Stay here with me."

"I'm saying no to sex tonight, I didn't say anything about leaving you."

"That's good because I don't want you going anywhere," he said as he nuzzled into her neck kissing her lightly.

"You have no idea how turned on I am right now," Anna whispered in his ear.

Robert very slowly pushed his hips forward and Anna moaned, "I think I have a very good idea," he said in a lustful whisper then he nibbled her earlobe.

Anna couldn't describe the incredible pleasure she felt being in his arms again, to know he wants her as much as she wants him. She knows it's the right choice not to let it go too far tonight but the things he was saying. They are going to have fun teasing each other, she wasn't sure either of them would get any sleep. Anna wasn't sure she wanted any she thought as she moaned, Robert was trailing kissing along her collarbone as he squeezed her breast.

"You're not being nice."

"I thought I was being very nice."

He was being too nice, everything felt too damn good. She needed to calm down a little or she just might change her mind. "Please."

He knew she was asking him to slow down, he knew they could easily get carried away. Robert rolled onto his back pulling her with him. She put her cheek to his chest as her breathing started to return to normal. His hand was lightly stroking her back. "You know there is a warrant out for me, this might be our last chance."

Anna started to laugh a little, "I just found out you are alive, I know you aren't giving up on this that easily."

"I'm not giving up on anything now." Robert put his head back and closed his eyes, "Try to get some sleep, Luv."

Anna sighed, he'd finally said it. She hadn't even realized she had been waiting to hear that again. She looked up at him then kissed him tenderly, "Good night." They settled in and closed their eyes and easily drifted off to sleep. They both found peace in the arms of the one they had missed the most.

"I highly doubt either my Mom or Dad took your jewels." Robin couldn't believe this silliness was still going on. Now Holly is claiming someone stole those damned jewels right off her body as she slept. "You probably hid them while we were all asleep."

"I did no such thing." She had done exactly that but there was no way she was going to admit that. She knew how to get them talking about something else and besides she wanted to know just what happened between Robert and Anna the night before. Holly turned and went down the hall, Robin following close behind.

"Hey, at least knock," Robin said as Holly walked right into the only room with the door closed. There on the bed spooned together Robert held Anna close as they slept. Robin smiled, she didn't care what had happened, she was just happy seeing them like this.

"Where are my jewels?"

Robert and Anna both woke with a start, he lifted his head looking over Anna's shoulder. "Get out," he snarled mostly asleep. Anna kept her eyes closed and snuggled in a little closer, she didn't want to leave his arms.

"I know you two took my jewels, I want them back, " Holly insisted.

"Go away, we don't have your jewels," Anna said as Robert's arms tighten around her. Anna smiled as she realized he didn't want her to get up yet. "There's a pressing matter I need to handle."

"Oh god. Mom!." Robin turned and left the room.

"Holly, if someone took those jewels it was one of the other people in this house, not us. You were all together in the room when we came in here and you were wearing it all then," Robert reminded her without moving.

"Give us a few minutes then you can search us and the room. Hell, search it now. We'll wait right here."

Holly didn't need to search for anything and she sure as hell didn't want to stay in here with them pretending to do just that. Besides, this will give the others something to talk about now. "Never mind," she said and followed Robin out of the room.

Robert leaned in and kissed Anna's neck, "Not exactly how I would have liked to wake with you in my arms but you sent them running very quickly which was very entertaining."

Anna smiled then turned in his arms, "Good morning."

"Good morning," he said and leaned in and kissed her tenderly.

"I guess we should get up."

Robert sighed, "Yeah, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Spencer comes looking for us too."

They got up and Robert picked up his shirt and put it back on then they walked down the hall. They heard Dylan saying he couldn't have been the one that took the jewels as they walked into the room. "Holly most likely hid them to keep them from everyone else," Anna said as they walked over to Robin.

"That's what I said as well. It's only you and Luke that give a crap about them now Holly, so just go and play whatever twisted little game you want and leave the rest of us out of it."

"How did you sleep, Scorpio?" Luke said ready to stop talking about the jewels, he was sure Holly had them as well so wasn't that worried about them for now. Getting to tease Robert seemed like a better way to pass the time as well.

"Very well," Robert told him, a little smirk on his face.

"Oh really, is that because Anna knocked you out?"

"What's the matter Luke, you have to live vicariously through others?" Anna asked with a grin.

"I really like Robin's mom," Lulu said, leaning in so only Dylan would hear her. They both smiled as they listened to the other tease each other. It was close to childish bickering but it was amusing for them all the same.

Suddenly the house was full of action, Lulu and Dylan weren't sure what happened but Holly had walked out of the room then returned with the gun Anna had brought with her, she was saying they were going to let her leave. Then the doors burst open and four men with guns came in followed by Tracy. Where had they come from?

"Hi Mom," Dylan said, seeing her.

"Hello, Dylan. What is going on here?" she asked looking at the seven people in the room. "Anna, hello. Is this a Scorpio family reunion?"

"Of sorts. Hello Tracy, nice to see you again."

"If you'll excuse me, I want to talk to my husband, my men here will make sure none of you goes anywhere until after we've talked." She walked over to Luke and grabbed his arm, "Let's go, mister. This isn't up for discussion." The others all watched as Tracy dragged Luke out of the room. For a few minutes, they were all wondering what had just happened.

"I don't think their talk is going to go as well as ours did," Robert whispered to Anna. She looked up and smiled. "What happens when we leave here? What happens next?"

"I have to report in, I was sent here because there are warrants out for the three of you," she told him with a grin.

"You know that is total BS, I didn't do anything."

She put her hand on his chest, "I know. I will still have to report in, though."

"Will I get to see you again?"

"Of course you will."

"You're sure about that? What if after you've had time to think you come to your senses?" he said with a grin.

"I have my senses, there is a lot that we still need to figure out. A lot that we still need to do," she said smiling suggestively. Robert's hand moved to her hip as they looked into each other's eyes.

Just then Tracy and Luke walked back into the room, "Anyone that wants to leave should, Luke has some husbandly duties to fulfil. Robert, Holly," her name was said with disdain, "there are no longer warrants out for either of you."

"So does that mean we can all go home now," Dylan asked.

"You all can, I'm staying with Luke and will be returning with him."

"That's perfect," Lulu said.

"I can't wait to get out of here," Robin said and started picking up her things.

Luke quickly realized that everyone else was going to leave, "What about those Jewels?" Holly paused then she and Luke looked over at Robert who was talking to Anna and Robin, clearly also getting ready to leave.

Holly had no interest in sticking around here with Luke and Tracy, besides she already had the jewels safely stashed away. "I think there's a flight waiting for me," she told him.

When they were ready to leave Tracy told two of her men to take them to the airport. Luke didn't look all that happy about what was happening as they were all leaving but there wasn't anything he could do to stop them leaving now.

Robert was going to be on the flight back to Port Charles with Robin, Lulu and Dylan. Anna's flight was about to leave, he watched as she hugged Robin and promised to see her soon. Then he stepped over to her as Robin turned to walk away. "So where and when?"

Anna smiled, knowing exactly what he meant. "Port Charles, six o'clock at our pier in two weeks."

"I'll be there," he responded then leaned in and kissed her tenderly. After the kiss, Anna smiled at him then turned and walked through her gate. As he turned he noticed Robin smiling at him. "I think we have a flight of our own to catch."

"Yes, we do. Should I even ask what's going on with you and Mom?"

"You can ask, we have a date in a couple of weeks. As long as we both show up then I think we are going to see what can happen between us now."

"You're giving her time to think now that you've talked," Robin concluded.

"Something like that. Come on, let's go."

Robin had been spending a little more time with Robert since they had returned, she had heard him out about what he had done and what had kept him away. After actually listening to him she had felt bad about how she had been treating him before that. All he had done was what was needed to keep her mother alive, to keep her safe. She realized he had suffered the most of all of them.

She smiled seeing him walking towards the nurses' station where she was standing with Liz. "Looking good, Robert. What's the occasion?" Liz asked as got to them.

"Is Mom, coming here today?" Robin asked with a smile, they had talked a few times since they left the Markham Islands and Anna had mentioned that they had plans to meet.

"I don't know, we haven't spoken since the airport."

"She picked the time and place, I'm sure she'll be there."

"I hope she is but I'll understand if she doesn't show up."

Robin put her hand on his arm, "She'll be there," she told him with a reassuring smile.

Liz had noticed the changes between Robert and Robin since they had returned and liked seeing them getting along so well. She'd known Robin a long time and knew how important her parents are to her and how hard it had been for her when she had believed they were both dead. "Your mom's coming for a visit? Robin, you never mentioned that."

"She has not confirmed anything." She looked over at Robert, "Sorry Dad, I don't know if she's coming for sure."

Robert grinned, since seeing Anna he had felt better about everything. A weight had been lifted and soon he would know whether Anna was interested in seeing what happens next for them. The things they had said, what they had talked about he was sure she would be there. "I'm not worried, and if you don't hear from you mother and me in a few days that's probably a good sign."

The only contact Anna's had with Robert since they had left the Markham Islands was a single text from him, it had read; Hello Luv, I thought I should prove this is my number. Looking forward to seeing you again, Robert. She had added his number to her contacts after that but was glad he also gave her time to think. She knew he hadn't been lying about going to Pine Valley to see her. She also felt that since he had gone there and seen her with David he had felt lost. He felt like he no longer had a home, that no one would want him to come back to them. Him staying away made sense to her. He was protecting himself from the pain of being rejected by the people he loves the most. Letting them hold onto the memory of who he had been.

Anna knew why Robert had made that agreement and did all those things. She understood it and knew she would have done the same thing in his place. She'd almost had to, Faison would have left Robin and Robert alone if she had agreed to stay with him. She never had to commit to that since Robert had shown up to rescue her. She looked out her window as the plane was preparing to land. Port Charles, she hadn't been here since she had been abducted all those years ago. A lot had changed in that time but none of that mattered today. She has an appointment to keep she thought with a smile.

After she had found her bags she went to get her rental car. Her plane had been slightly behind schedule and she didn't want to be late. She smiled brightly as she turned and walked out of the building with the keys in her hand, she's about to see Robert again. The overwhelming happiness she was feeling proves this was what she truly wanted. Robert is waiting for her, she knows he'll be there. In her excitement, she almost walked into a man rushing to get inside. She called her apology after him, then turned to find her car and left with only one thing on her mind, Robert.

After leaving the hospital Robert started walking over to the waterfront. He had a little time before Anna would get there. He passed a flower shop and stepped inside, he thought about picking up a bouquet of flowers but decided on a single rose. It somehow seemed better to him, he pictured them walking hand in hand, Anna holding the single rose, smelling it, letting the petals brush her lips. Robert thanked the lady in the shop and turned to leave. He glanced at his watch as he left the store, time to get moving he thought walking along the sidewalk. He had a smile on his face as he started to cross the street but stopped abruptly and looking around quickly when he heard brakes squeal.

Another man banged into Robert as he had jumped to get out of the way of the car that had failed to stop at the light. Robert put his hands up to make sure the guy didn't fall. "You alright mate?"

"Yeah, that moron almost hit me," the man said as he flipped off the driver of the car as it started to drive away. "I'm good, bud."

"Alright." then Robert turned and continued on his way. That's the last thing he needs, he thinks with a smile. On his way to meet Anna and something crazy like getting hit by a car could have happened. He shakes his head putting it out of his head as he turns to the pier, it was getting rather foggy he noted. No, her plane was on time, don't even start thinking like that. Maybe she's already there, he thought and quicken his step a little.

As he got closer he smiled thinking about all the times they had found each other here, met here, thought about the other one here. He looked out at the water as he breathed in the sea air.

After she had parked, Anna hurried to get to the pier, as she rounded a corner she saw the fog and slowed down a little. She smiled seeing a figure through the fog and started walking toward them. "I'm not late, am I?" Anna said as he started to turn towards her hearing her approach.

"I would have waited all night," he said as he held up the rose to her.

Anna smiled as she took it, "Thank you." Then Robert leaned in and kissed her. It started tenderly then their arms went around each other and the passion grew. Slowly the kiss ended and they leaned back in each other's arms.

Robert tucked some hair behind her ear, "God, I've missed you."

"I had to tell myself I'm not dreaming a few times since the islands. You are alive."

"I am," he said with a grin. "Have you thought about what I told you, about what has happened while I was gone?"

She stepped back and took his hand as she moved closer to the water. "I have. Thank you for giving me time to do that. I told you I didn't know how I felt at the time."

"You did," Robert said tilting his head slightly, admiring her profile.

"I know now." Robert ran his thumb along the back of her hand waiting for her to continue. "I want what we had. What we had just gotten back."

"You do?" he said with a hopeful grin.

"Yeah, don't you?"

"Of course I do." Robert kissed her, a big smile on his face. "I want to take you for dinner but I really want to be alone with you."

"Well, I might have an idea. I am off work for the next two months and rented an apartment here for those two months. Want to come with me to check it out, we could order something in?"

"I think that is a wonderful idea." Robert offered her his arm and she took it as they turned and walked back towards her car. Anna lifted the rose to her nose and smelled it, Robert grinned seeing her do that.

"I want time for us to talk, I want to spend time with you. I know I want what we had but I also know it's been fifteen years."

"We need time, I know that."

Anna wrapped both arms around his as they continued to walk. "I didn't tell Robin I was coming here or that I have taken some time off."

"I saw her earlier, she knows there's a good chance you'll be in town."

"Only a chance?"

"I was being realistic, there was a chance you might not come here."

As they got to her car she turned and smiled up at him, "No there wasn't." Then she kissed him, he pulled her close as the kiss deepened. Anna finally pushed him back a little. "Let's get out of here."

They got in her car and drove away. It wasn't long before they were parking at her apartment building. "I have a couple of bags to take up." Robert grabbed them then followed her inside.

Once they were in the apartment Anna started to look around, glad it was furnished and had everything she would need. "So where's the bedroom?" Robert asked.

Anna turned and looked at him, a grin on her face, "Slow down there mister."

"I want to put your bags away," he said smiling at her. She walked down the little hall and Robert followed her into the bedroom. He put the bags down as she looked around a little. He stepped over to her then his hands slipped around her waist, "I know we are doing the right thing."

She turned slightly and he leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. "I didn't let myself think about this because I believed it could never happen. Now I have and I know this is what I want. You and I together."

Robert nuzzled into her neck planting light kisses along her neck. "We should go order dinner or you might not get to eat this even, especially if we stay in here."

Anna giggled as she started to walk out of the room, pulling Robert behind her. She is all alone with him and no one knows where they are, this is exactly what they need. Just time for the two of them, time they should have had when he came back to her. If only she had known, if only he would have told her even if David was in the picture. "Let's have a look around, hopefully, you'll be spending a fair amount of time here."

"What if I said I might want to be here all the time."

"I think I'd be alright with that." Anna turned and looked around, it was an open space. The living room on one side kitchen and dining area on the other. "You should order us something, I don't care what. Pick someplace you like."

"Alright" He pulled out his phone and ordered dinner as he watched her move around the room.

"I'll be right back," she said, he was still on the phone and she remembered there was a bottle of wine in her bag. "There should be glasses in one of the cupboards," she said as she walked back into the room holding up the bottle triumphantly. Robert started opening cupboards until he found the wine glasses. "Bring those here."

Robert put them down in front of her and she filled them, "Here's to us." They clinked glasses and smiled. He was so glad there was no awkwardness between them. She wants there to be a relationship for them, she is willing to give them another chance. He hadn't let himself hope for this in a couple of years, now it was happening.

"Tell me what you've been doing since I saw you. How are things with Robin?"

"I'm still working at the Haunted Star, it gives me something to do with my time. Robin, I think she might actually be softening a little. She seems happy to see me now when I see her at least."

"She's happy you're here, I think after a little more time she will open up to you. Let you back in."

"I hope you're right." Robert walked over to the couch. "Come sit with me." Anna joined him, sitting right beside him. "What made you decide to take time off?"

"If we are going to do this, we need time together."

Robert sighed in relief, it didn't seem like she was unsure, or worried. "I want to make you happy. I want to give you the life we should have had."

"That sounds wonderful."

Anna then told him about what she had been doing since seeing him. She was sure about this and that made him feel great. He wanted this so much, knowing she did as well put him at ease. When their food arrived they sat at the table and ate while they talked about the last couple of years of their lives. Robert felt proud of the work he had been doing with the Medical Rescue Agency, at least he had been helping people. Anna told him about starting over and trying to figure out how to fit into her own life again.

When Robert started tidying up Anna excused herself. It felt so right being here with him. It felt like it always had when they were together. She put her head back and closed her eyes letting out a sigh. This is what has been missing from her life, he has been missing.

She started putting a few things away as she looked for something to change into. There is no reason they can't be together tonight and she knows that's what she wants. She smiled when her fingers grazed the silky material of the negligee she wanted to wear. It was black and had a matching robe. Once she was chanced, she went out to surprise Robert. He had just refilled their glasses when he saw her. "You like?"

"Oh! I like." Robert walked over and took her in his arms, kissing her passionately. Anna's arms went around his neck pulling him closer.

"Take me to bed."

Robert swung her up into his arms then carried her to the bedroom. Anna started unbuttoning his shirt as soon as he put her on the bed. He opened the robe then slid it off her shoulders. Robert took off his shirt as she started to undo his belt. Quickly his pants were removed, when he was only in his boxers he got into bed with her.

"You are ravishing," he said then claimed her lips, kissing her sensually. Anna moaned in pleasure as his hands moved over her. He removed her negligee admiring her beautiful naked body, "My memories could never do you justice. You're perfect."

Anna reached down and freed him from his boxes, stroking him as he removed them completely. "I haven't stopped thinking about this since that night. I wanted you so much but I knew we needed to wait."

"There's no reason to wait now," he said as he rolled them so he was on top.

"None," she said then bit his bottom lip playfully. He moved to her entrance, slowly pushing inside. "Ahhh." She bit his earlobe as he kissed her shoulder and slowly started moving. The pleasure building with every stroke. Anna let herself get lost in the pure pleasure of finally being with the man she has always loved again.

They spent the night making love, sometimes tender, sometimes more primal. Anna had no idea how much time had passed when she lay in his arms, both utterly spent. "I think we need to stay here for at least two more days," Robert said as he stroked her back.

"Just two?"

"Well after two days I'd be willing to go out in public and share you with other people. I want you all to myself until then."

"I think that can be arranged." Anna put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. They might not know exactly what happens now but she knew they were going to be together and right now that was all she needed. She has her man back and they will figure out what comes next but not tonight. Two undisturbed days with him was all she wanted to think about. She sighed and let herself drifted off to sleep, a smile on her face. Robert kissed the top of her head and drifted off as well knowing anything is possible now that he has her back.
