This first chapter features a story idea I had awhile ago. It had initially came from not really enjoying many of the fics that featured Izuku with Luffy's powers and want to do my own as a result. I ended up dropping it due to losing interest with the idea. Anyways, enjoy this to the best your abilities this was made when I was still figuring out my style of writing and lacks any of the improvements I've made.

Chapter 1: Rubber Soul

'All men are created equal', what a strange phrase. On the surface it seems like a lie, some are stronger, some are swifter of foot, and others wise beyond years. In this world of superpowers, or quirks, there are those blessed with incredible power beyond measure while others are completely powerless. However men are in fact equal. Their beginning and end are the same and all men get to choose how they play the hand they've been dealt…

"Stop Kacchan you're hurting him!" A young green-haired boy shouted.

This boy was Izuku Midoriya. He was a four year old child with a quirk that made his body similar to rubber. He stood between three bullies, one of which was his former friend Katsuki Bakugou, and another child his age, who was on the ground crying.

"What do you think your doing Deku, playing hero with your useless quirk?" The blond-haired boy taunted.

"My quirk's not useless! I'm sure with proper training I can become a great hero!" Izuku shouted back.

"Hahahaha… don't make me laugh Deku. Face it other than a living punching bag you and your quirk will never live up to mine." Bakugou returned.

"Oh yeah… then take this!" Izuku shouted as he threw out his right fist.

His arm extended, his fist barrelling towards Bakugou only for it to slow down and fall to the ground not even halfway. Izuku's face went blank for a second. He blinked a few times before recollecting his thought.

"So… do I get a redo?" He stated.

"HYA!" Bakugou shouted as he charged Izuku and blasted him in the face.

After he and his followers finished their beatdown of Izuku, said boy was left lying on the ground with several burn marks scattered across his body. While most physical attacks had little effect on him, Bakugou's explosions were more than capable of harming his rubber body. As he lay there, the boy he was defending already gone, he cried. He cried from the pain his body felt and the pain of having it done to him by a boy he once called his friend. However in that pain a fire was lit. He was now more determined than ever to prove his former friend wrong, to prove he could be a hero, the greatest hero…

Ten years later…

Izuku was now fourteen years old. His curly green hair danced about as the wind rushed through it. His school uniform hid his muscular frame built up through training. He looked down at his notebook, which was titled 'Hero Analysis for the Future #7'. The notebook had several burn marks on it which caused Izuku to sigh as he remembered the events of today.

"Kacchan really needs to get off his high horse." He remarked. "I understand my quirk might not be the best combat wise but there's more to being a hero than just punching villains, or in Kacchan's cause…"

He remembered back to when said boy launched an explosion on his school desk upon finding out he planned to go to UA.

"Blowing them up." He finished with an uncomfortable sigh.

As he walked, he eventually crossed under a bridge. As he did he heard something come up behind him. He turned around to see a grotesque slime villain come up behind him. The villain's eyes glared intently at him, his mouth contorted into a menacing smile.

"You'll make a fine meatsack!" He exclaimed before charging Izuku.

"AHHH! Crap got a run!" Izuku shouted as he sprint away with the villain hot on his heels.

As he did however, he grabbed a nearby lamppost. As he ran his hand remained on it as his arm stretched. The villain stopped and looked at the hand on the lamppost in confusion. After he thought his arm was stretched sufficiently Izuku turned around and smiled at the villain.

"Got ya," He simply remarked. "Gum-Gum…"

In an instance the Izuku launched himself at the villain.

"ROCKET!" He shouted as he burst through the villain.

Much of the villain is splattered across the road, but enough of him remains that he can still move around and attack.

"Damn brat!" He shouted.

"That wasn't enough… alright then… take this!" He shouted as he pulled his fists back.

"Gum-Gum Gatling!" He shouted as he threw several rapid fire extended punches.

Each punch found its mark and within seconds the villain was splatter across the road. Izuku's arms pulled back with a snap as a smile spread across his face.

"Guess all that training paid off." He stated. "Now hopefully what every hero was chasing him arrives soon. I don't have anything to hold him, whoever was chasing him might. AlsoIhavenoideatheworkingofhisquirkotherthanhe'saslugmanalsoIhavenoideahowlonghe'llbeoutbeforehe'sabletocomebacktogetherandreform…"

As he mumbled he failed to notice the manhole in front burst up until a familiar looking large muscular blond proudly proclaimed. "I AM HERE!"

Immediately Izuku was brought out of his muttering.

"A-A-A-A-ALL MIGHT?!" The boy exclaimed.

"Ahahahah… yes it is I, All Might and I…" He expressed before quickly gathering up the remains of the sludge villain into a pair of empty two liter soda bottles. "Have contained the villain!"

Izuku merely stood there, largely due to the shock of having the number one hero in front of him.

"Speaking of which, while I don't normally condone the use of quirks in public, I commend you for taking out the villain so quickly. Given the situation I'm sure I can let this slide." All Might complimented.

"Oh ahhh… t-thank you All Might… sir." Izuku replied. "Wait… you saw me fight the villain?"

"Ahahahaha… Indeed I did, I was actually about to intervene before I saw you holding so well against the villain." He admitted. "I must say I'm impressed by the way you used your quirk. I take it, it took a lot of time to get it to that point."

"Uhh… yeah it did… Thanks again sir…" Izuku stated, still somewhat dazed by the whole experience. "AHHHHH! How could I forget."

He quickly got out his notebook, opened it to an empty page and held it out with a pen.

"C-CAN YOU PLEASE SIGN THIS!?" He asked quickly.

"Of course my boy I'd be happy to give you my signature." All Might replied as he took the notebook and pen. "By the way I never got your name young man?"

"Ooohh… it's Izuku Midoriya sir." He answered.

Holy crap the Number One hero just asked my name! He squealed internally.

"Well young Midoriya I should apologize for getting you involved. I'm new to the area and the sewer system was more complicated than I had anticipated." All Might state as he signed the book.

"Oohhh don't worry about it. I'm alright so no harm done." Izuku assured the number one hero.

"Even still…" All might began.

"Plus I got to meet my idol in person so that's another plus to this whole incident." Izuku interrupted.

"Ahahaha… I see." All Might stated as he closed the book.

It was then he noticed the title of the notebook. Hmm… 'Hero Analysis for the Future #7' seems the boy has an interest in heroics. But for this to be the seventh book, now I'm curious… Well I still have some time left, might as well take a look. He thought to himself while also taking note of the condition it was. Better ask about that first.

"Excuse me young Midoriya but may I ask how your notebook got… well… burnt?" He inquired.

"Oh… that… well… One of my classmates doesn't like me too much so he used his quirk to… kind of blow it up." Midoriya explained awkwardly. "Honestly I think he's just scared of someone surpassing him. He's got a powerful quirk and all the praise he got as a kind of went to his head."

"I see… tis an unfortunate part of today's society. Powerful flashy quirks are praised while equally useful but far less flashy quirks are looked over." All Might stated as he flipped through Izuku's notebook, much to the boy's embarrassment. "I must say though these notes are quite detailed, be careful they do not fall into the hands of a villain."

"Oh… ah… thanks, will do." Midoriya replied.

"Now then young man I must be on my way. I need to get this villain to the police." All Might stated as he hands the boy back his notebook and pen.

"O-of course," Izuku replied as he took his possessions back.

Right before All Might was about to take off Izuku remembered a question he wanted to ask.

"Actually before you go All Might I have a question, I mean, if you have the time sir?!" He asked.

"Hmm… as long as it doesn't take too long it should be fine." The pro hero replied.

"Alright then I'll try to make it quick then." Izuku stated. "You see… I've wanted to be a hero since I was little which is why I've worked so hard to improve myself. So I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me to improve either my quirk or even just physical training? I plan on going to UA and I want to be more than ready for the entrance exam."

"Hmm… before I give you my answer, tell me Young Midoriya, why do you wish to become a hero?" All Might asked.

"Well… it's kind of embarrassing but you actually. I've always wanted to be a hero like you who smiles in the face of danger and brings hope to the hearts of people." Izuku proudly stated.

"Ahahaha… I like your spirit boy, if that's the case I think I can help then. While I don't have the time at the moment I know a good friend who'd be able to help." All Might stated.

"Really who?" Izuku beamed.

"A man named Toshinori Yagi, he's a… old friend of mine I doubt you've heard of him. You should meet him at Dagoba Municipal Beach Park at… five a.m. Just look for a tall skinny man with large scraggly blond hair like a lion's mane. He tends to have a good amount of free time and I know he'd be happy to help you." All Might explained.

"Alright thank you so much sir." Izuku returned with a bow.

"Ahahaha… please thank me by becoming a great hero young lad. I hope to see you around." He stated before taking off.

Izuku covered his eyes as the hero took off. After a few seconds of looking up to the sky and getting over the shock of meeting the number one hero, he races back home with a big smile plastered on his face. After a short run he returned to his apartment and hoped he hadn't been gone too long to cause his mother to worry.

"Mom I'm home!" He called out as he entered.

"Izuuuuuukuuuu?!" His mother cried as she ran up and hugged him.

Izuku's mother, Inko Midoriya, was a tall woman with green hair like her son, though hers was straight as opposed to his curly hair. She managed to maintain an attractive youthful appearance though the signs of aging were starting to show.

"What took you so long I got worried you were attacked by a villain?" She questioned.

"Aaaahhh… well there was a villain that attacked me." He began.

His mother gasped.

"But I was fine, I was able to defend myself and beat him without getting injured." He quickly assured her.

"Well that's good." She sighed as she released him. "So what happened to the villain? Did a hero come and pick him up?"

"Yeah but not just any hero, it was All Might himself who came and got the villain." Izuku beamed.

"WHAT?! ALL MIGHT?!" She exclaimed. "Are you serious?"

"Dead serious, I even got him to sign my hero notebook look." He proclaimed as he should his mother All Might's signature.

"Ohhhh…" His mother expressed with glee.

"And that's not even the best part." He stated. "I asked him about ways to improve my quirk and he set me up with a friend of his to train him."

"Really!?" She exclaimed. "A friend of the number one hero is gonna train you?"

"Yep he said to meet him at Dagoba beach at five a.m tomorrow so I'll have to get to bed early tonight." Izuku explained.

"Oh Izuku I'm so proud of you, that settles it. It's katsudon for dinner tonight!" She proclaimed.

"Woohhhh!" Izuku shouted, raising his fists into the air.

After having his favorite dinner, the rubber boy did some homework and enjoyed some TV before heading to bed.

Dagoba Municipal Beach Park, A little before Five in the morning…

Izuku ran towards the beach turned dump. He sported a tank top, a pair of black nylon shorts, and his red shoes Dagoba Beach was once quite a beautiful spot, but the ocean currents carried trash towards it and soon illegal trash dumping took place due to said fact. With no one taking the time to clean it, the beach became covered in mountains of trash. On this beach the young boy saw the man All Might had described. He was actually taken aback by the appearance of Yagi. While All Might had described him as skinny he wasn't expecting him to be basically a skeleton. Disregarding that fact as he ran up to him.

"Ah… Izuku Midoriya I take it." He called out.

"Yes and you must be Toshinori Yagi. It's nice to meet you." He greeted as he stopped in front of him.

"Likewise, and just call me Yagi." The skeleton man returned with a smile. "Now before we start I'd like to know a bit more about your quirk. All Might said he saw you stretch your arms out but I felt that was more an application of your quirk rather than the quirk itself."

"Oh yeah, my quirk is Rubber Body." Izuku explained as he pulled on his cheek to stretch it out. "My whole body is essentially made out of rubber. The way it works is similar to that of a rubber band. Though I can still chew food somehow."

He let go and his cheek snapped back into place. With the rubber boys explanation complete the gears in Yagi's head began to turn. First he decided to test how much the boy's body can take.

"Given that fact, I take it most physical attacks aren't very effective against you?" He observed.

"Yep sharp objects still work, but things like punches and kicks are pretty much useless. All though depending on how hard I'm hit or how I'm hit I can still get hurt by them." He explained. "Why'd you ask?"

Suddenly Yagi's right arm bulked as he let his power surge through it.

"I'd like to see how it handle's my attack." He answered with a smile.

Izuku smiled in return and readied himself to take the attack. Yagi charged forward and delivered the punch straight to Izuku's stomach. Now most individuals would have been sent flying back from such a punch however, Izuku was pushed back a bit with the punch stretching his stomach far back. Eventually it sprung back forcing Yagi back from the force. This caused him to cough up a bit of blood.

"OH MY GOD!" Izuku exclaimed upon seeing this. "Mr. Yagi are you alright."

Yagi held up his hand.

"Don't worry kid just an old injury acting up it happens every now and again." He explained as he wipes the blood from his mouth. "Anyways your ability to take a punch is impressive to say the least. Not only that if their projectiles you've be able launch them back at your opponent"

"Yeah I figured that out too." Izuku replied.

"Good, now show me some of the attacks you've come up with." He stated. "The trash piles should do for punching bags."

"Alright let's start out simple with Gum-Gum Pistol." Izuku stated.

Izuku proceeded to show off all the moves he'd come up with. His first one was Gum-Gum Pistol where he pulls his fist back and sends it flying forward. Then there was his Gum-Gum Bazooka, an attack where he pulls his arms back and shoots them forward in a double open palm strike. Next he showed off his Gum-Gum Rifle, similar to the Gum-Gum Pistol he pulls is fist back but twists his arm around as he does to increase it's striking power. Next he showed his Gum-Gum Gatling. After this he shows Gum-Gum Stamp and Gum-Gum Stamp Gatling, which are variations of Gum-Gum Pistol and Gum-Gum Gatling respectively that uses kicks. Next he shows Gum-Gum Whip, an attack where he stretches his leg out and kicks in a large arc. Finally he finishes off with Gum-Gum Battle Axe, this attack involves him sending his leg high up and slamming it down in an axe kick.

"And that's it, that's all I've come up with so far… what do you think?" The boy asked.

Yagi marveled at the attack the boy showed off. They were simple but quite powerful as some of them smashed through many of the trash piles with ease. With these attacks he'd pass the UA practical test with flying colors. The fact that he wishes to improve even further is a good sign. The skeleton man thought to himself.

"Well done my boy, it seems your in good shape quirkwise." He answered "It'll take some time for me to come up with improvements. In the meantime we can begin your strength training."

To this Izuku nodded.

"I take it by your physique you've already done a good amount of training." Yagi noted.

"Yes sir, since my body acts more like a rubber band I needed to improve my strength so I could stretch myself out more easily." Izuku explained.

"I see, then for your training now we'll be focusing on a full body workout." Yagi explain. "To do this I'll be having you clean this whole beach."

"The whole beach?!" Izuku exclaimed.

Ignoring the boy's cry for a moment, Yagi took out a piece of paper.

"Here is, what I've dubbed, the 'Aim to Pass: American Dream Plan'." He continued to explain as he handed the paper to Izuku.

Izuku began reading through his new training regiment.

"Wow, even my meals and sleep schedule are planned out." He noted.

"Indeed now I'd already planned out time for working on your quirk. However, since I'll need some time to come up with improvements for said quirk you'll spend that time cleaning the beach." Yagi explained. "I hope you're ready young man. I designed this plan with your physical capabilities in mind to be as challenging as possible. The UA entrance exam is in ten months, that'll be the time table you're working with. Now tell me, are you ready to go beyond plus ultra?"

Izuku returned Yagi 's challenge with a smile marked with determination.

"Yes Sir!" He answered.
