Chapter 10

NORMAL POV

"Mai."

"N-Naru?" Mai answered

Then Naru immediately alerted the Nurse station that Mai has awaken from her coma. The doctors and nurse immediately arrived. The doctor examined her and asked a few questions and removed unnecessary equipment inside the room. And her adoptive parents arrived quickly as they gotten the news that their daughter is awake now. And Naru left the room to give the family some privacy.

"Ms. Wilson is okay now need more rest. I would like to keep her here for a few days to run a few more test and keep her under observation when everything is okay, we can discharge her." Dr. Iragashi said

"Oh! Yes, Thank you doctor." Mr. and Mrs. Wilson replied

Mai POV

'I woke up from a voice calling my name. Immediately called out the first person whom I could see "N-Naru?" I asked weakly. I felt like there are sand and gravel on my throat. It seems like I'm in a hospital the smell of antiseptic in the air and the white walls. Naru immediately informed the nurse that I'm already awake. Then Nurses and the doctor arrived he asked me random questions like where am I? who am I? and If I could remember why I am here. While the nurse checks my pulse, temperature and blood pressure. Then I saw my parents and Naru who left the room. The doctor told them that he wants to keep me under observation and he will run a few more test then I could go home then If all things are clear. As the doctor and nurses left my parents went beside my bed.

"Oh, darling you worried us you know?" Mom said while hugging me.

"Mom, Dad, I'm sorry for worrying you."- I said to them

"It's a relief that you gain consciousness." Dad said

'And we talked about a lot of things with my adopted parents as to what has happened this pass few days while I was unconscious, then my parents went out to buy food for dinner.

When I was alone inside the room. I suddenly remember when I woke up, I'm sure Naru called me Mai. I suppose he already knew this time around that Mari Wilson and Taniyama Mai, are the same person. I suppose I will have the confrontation soon.

Suddenly there was a knocked on the door. "Come in" I said and when the door opened there was him. " Naru"

NORMAL POV

As Naru opened the door he could see that Mai tensed up as she saw him enter the room. Now Naru knew that Mai has expected this to happen sooner than later. So Naru just went straight to the point.

"Mari, I know that you are Taniyama Mai." Naru said

"When did you find out Naru?" Mai asked

"So, you won't say you are not Taniyama Mai?" Naru asked

"What's the point on denying it when I know that you will be ready to extract the confession out of me. And you don't go to a discussion Naru without evidence to support your claim. So, I will just admit it, I am Taniyama Mai. So why don't you answer my question Naru." Mai answered.

*Sigh* "When you first arrived at the office and when I talked with you, I had my suspicion and asked Lin to asked Madoka to find information about you." Naru answered. "also, as the investigation progress I could see somethings that is Mai and then you got attacked brought you in the hospital then your adoptive parents called you Mai. And my suspicion was strengthened with the information given to me." Naru continued.

"I'm sorry Naru for keeping my true identity from you." Mai said.

"Mai, why?! Why go all the trouble lying that your someone else? I knew that you lost your memories but why didn't you comeback even call when you remember us? Why did you do that to us?! To me?"

Naru asked calmly which is a lot scarier.

Mai was silent for a while Naru is never the emotional type of person he speaks cold hard scientific truth. Yet the question he said felt very emotional even though he said it so calmly and cold.

"Naru, I'm sorry. I planned to tell you, everyone that I'm Mai at the end of this investigation. When my memories returned, I didn't return because I was not yet ready to face you. I didn't mean any harm or hate to do this to you, to them. I want to surprised you because I was ready." Mai said

"But Naru I was hurt at that time, when I left. That time all the hurt and pain stacked up especially when the wound of your rejection at that time was still fresh. You made it worse when you told me that I was in love with your brother and not you. I was too hurt to think straight that time, but now that I think about it who were you to know my feelings and judge it was not real?! I did try to forget and move on from you I date a lot of guys, but I can't seem to find him. Then I was able to find my ideal guy and then YOU chased him out. You don't have any right at that time anymore Naru because you rejected me already. And I got sick of being beside you yet I still didn't have the freedom to move on from you. I was so feed up! And I decided to leave and find myself along the way of my journey. It was also a right time because I received a letter from my grandfather. And it was like a chance, a message from the universe that my decision was right at that time." Mai's voice went from speaking to almost shouting.

Suddenly the door opened and the SPR team went in. they must have heard Mai's voice.

"Guys? what's happening here?' Ayako asked

"What wrong?" Bou-san asked

Then Naru just storm out of the room. Naru felt at that time that he doesn't want to lose his cool in front of them.

"Hey! Naru!" Ayako called.
