It was as if a fog was being burnt away, clearing his mind, but leaving some glaring holes in his memory. How had he wound up on the Eiffel Tower? He recognized Paris... but it was different. The Tower was on it's side, the entirety of the city was submerged. Something horrible had befell his beloved home. He looked around in confusion, pausing as he saw a beautiful white butterfly coming his way. A former Akuma... he had seen them countless times, only one person could purify them.

He held out his hand, letting it gently fall into his palm, staring at it wistfully, a small smile spreading across his features. Though his momentary awakening was interrupted as he heard an excited voice.

"You fixed everything Minibug!" his eyes moved to take in the sight of Bunnyx, poking her head through one of her portals. It had been forever since he had last seen her, but that wasn't what truly caught his eye. There stood a figure that had always caused his heart to stop right in his throat. He recognized the Ladybug outfit anywhere.

"Marinette? What happened?" he asked. She gasped and turned to look at him, before she sighed and closed her eyes. She looked torn, yet determined... there was a sadness to her features. "What's wrong?" he asked, concerned. She looked up at him, and there was that stubborn set of her jaw, she had made up her mind about something.

"You're still calling me Marinette," she stated simply, "You not supposed to know who I am," his heart sunk, eyes moving to take in Bunnyx once more. This wasn't his Ladybug... she had come from the past to stop someone. His eyes moved to the butterfly in his hands. She had come from the past to stop him? What had he done? Had he destroyed Paris? "It means that if I use my Miraculous Ladybug to fix everything now-" she continued.

"You'll still have this memory of her," Bunnyx finished for her. For the first time since he had been deakumed, Adrien- Cat Noir, dropped his hands, eyes closing... the butterfly taking to the air once more to leave them. Did that mean she had to go back to her time and erase the memory of her? After everything? Adrien could always say what was on his mind, but his heart was Ladybug's... he, as Cat Noir, had told her countless time, but Ladybug was in love with him as Adrien... and she had such a hard time telling him- time and time again they had played the same song and dance... as if they were slowly being drawn into a whirlpool where they would be broken against the rocks of their tragedy. What would happen if he just told Marinette that he was Adrien? He knew she loved him now. Then he heard Marinette make that cute sound she did when she realized what her Lucky Charm was for.

"Of course!" she exclaimed. He felt her arms around him, and he felt his heart shatter even more. "I'm going to fix everything Cat Noir," she said. "I promise," she added, before running for the portal. He smiled sadly as he watched her go.

"I know..." he said, she always did fix everything. He trusted that she would always find a way, but did he want to forget? He stared at the portal for several moments, before moving to follow Marinette... but she had already gone. Bunnyx turned to face him, pulling the umbrella from her back.

"You shouldn't be in here," she told him. He merely nodded, and shrugged, looking around slowly...

"I won't exist for much longer... Tell me, are we always going to hurt one another without meaning?" he asked her. Bunnyx lowered her weapon, the expression on her face softened, and she sighed softly.

"The future is not set in stone..." she added. Cat Noir sighed softly, then dropped to his knees as he heard a cry through another portal.

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

"It's just... it isn't fair," he said simply as a wave of Ladybugs swarmed through the portal, swarming about him, and out the portal he had come through- Cat Noir was gone. Bunnyx turned toward another portal, where they had all once sat... friends, all united by Marinette. Adrien sitting on one end with Kagami, and Marinette sitting on the other, with Luka.

"No, it's not..." Bunnyx confessed. "Two people will always wind up broken hearted..." she said sadly.
