Hello everyone. Here is my one-shot story for this year. I hope that you will enjoy it. :)
It is Rome on the 15th of March 44 BC, a male Scarlet Macaw wearing a toga is on his way to the Portico of Pompey. He is going to address a meeting, before setting off for the city of Parthia in order to go on a military expedition to conquer the Parthians. That expedition will take place in three days time, which would be the 18th of March 44 BC.
His name is none other than Gaius Julius Caesar, a fearsome Roman has spent much of his time conquering the whole of Gaul. After spending eight years there, he crossed the Rubicon river as he invaded Italy before taking on his former ally Pompey and the Senate. It was a long fearsome fight between them, although Julius Caesar won in the end.
He even went to country of Egypt, where he helped the beautiful Cleopatra defeat her brother for the throne of Egypt. When he finally got back to Rome, Julius Caesar made a lot of reforms along with packing the Senate house with some brand new members. He even tested the waters of ruling as King, when Mark Antony had offered him the crown.
Despite the many times he would refuse the crown, the Senate were already become anxious about his behaviour. The refusing of the crown, ended up being the last straw for many Romans including a group of them that became known as the Liberators. Their leaders are Cassius and Marcus Junius Brutus, the latter is an old friend of Julius Caesar.
Today Julius Caesar entered the Portico of Pompey, despite being warned many times to not attend today's meeting. His own wife Calpurnia warned him, because she had been having strange dreams about his potential demise if he attended the meeting. Julius Caesar ignored her pleas too, possibly out of arrogance or even because he wants to die.
He had been in ailing health due to his constant fits, along with tempo lobe epilepsy that would cause him to phase out. He had even lost control of himself, which happened to be in public as this would have been unbearable for someone of Caesar's nature to handle. He had even hinted to an friend of his, that, he did not want to live anymore
