A Dragon's Call
Chapter 7
" Yeah I've heard about this mage Salamander. Son of Igneel he says? " Ignia huffed before laughing maniacally as Syra spoke.
" Adoptive son. But yeah you get the idea. Igneel taught Natsu his Dragon Slayer magic. " Syra spoke calmly as Igneel grinned.
" Let's go meet this Salamander shall we? " Igneel had a glint of malice in his eyes as Syra sighed and spoke.
" Fine. But if you cause any trouble or damage Magnolia Town I promise you that you will regret it. Clear? " Syra spoke sternly and pouted irritably as Ignia responded.
" Yeah, Yeah. Now get a move on sweetness. " Ignia grinned devilishly as Syra glared at him before the two walked out of the cave and transformed into their Dragon Forms.
Two Days Later
" I miss her Mira... She didn't even say goodbye... " Levy sighed but gasped as a gentle tap on her shoulder startled her and she turned around quickly.
" Goodbye. " Syra smirked playfully before kissing Levy gently.
" Syra! Why didn't you take me with you?! " Levy pouted irritably before Syra stepped back.
" Cause shrimps can't handle Dragon work. " Ignia's voice echoed around the Guild Hall, Causing everyone to freeze and look at him.
" Uhm... Who are you? " Mirajane spoke softly but froze as Ignia's steely glare fell upon her.
" I am Ignia. Fire God Dragon. Blood son of Igneel, King of Fire Dragon's. " Ignia smirked as looks of shock appeared on everyone's faces.
" Blood son... But Natsu is the son of Igneel... " Levy spoke softly but fell silent as Ignia glared at her.
" Adopted. I am his flesh and blood. Salamander is nothing compared to m.. OW! " Ignia growled as Syra seized his ear and pulled it roughly with an irritated look on her face, Her eyes forming into Dragon eyes as her gaze met Ignia's.
" Don't get uppity. " Syra pulled Ignia to her level and glared as her voice resonated with ferocity. " Or else. "
" Fine. I'll be... " Ignia winced as the word left his lips. " Civilised... Ugh... That feels weird... "
" I don't care if you are civilised or not. Behave yourself or face my fury. " Syra glared at Ignia as silver flames burned in her eyes as she released his ear.
" Pass. Taking that on the way here was bad enough. " Ignia rubbed his forehead gently as everyone glanced at him and noticed what appeared to be five small claw marks over his right eyebrow.
" Wise. Now play nice. I have to go check on my daughters. " Syra shot Ignia one final glare of warning before leaving the Guild Hall as Ignia sighed in frustration.
" Menacing little snake. If I didn't like her so much I'd kick the shit outta her. " Ignia huffed before sitting at the bar as Mirajane placed a mug of ale in front of him. As he drank the ale, Levy sat down beside him.
" So... I have some questions for you. " Levy had a look of curiosity on her face as Ignia groaned and turned to face her.
" Fine. Get it over with. " Ignia grinned as Levy sighed softly.
" Natsu has never spoken about Igneel having another son so I assume he has no idea... Why would Igneel not tell him? " Levy sounded confused as she spoke before Ignia responded.
" Dunno. Don't really care either. Next. " Ignia spoke with disinterest in his voice before Levy spoke again.
" Why do you call yourself Fire God Dragon? It's not like you are actually a god. " Levy huffed before Ignia spoke.
" Compared to most people I damn well am a god. Even Igneel couldn't match my fire. My flames can burn anything punk. Except Syralogia. She is too tough for even my fire. " Ignia grinned with an impressed glint in his eye before Levy spoke again.
" Why did you come here? " Levy spoke with curiosity in her voice and this time, Ignia sighed softly before speaking in a tone of voice that almost sounded caring.
" Despite her being a humongous pain in my ass, Syralogia is one of a kind. She is the only person who not only challenged me but forced me to bend to her will. When I refused... Well... " Ignia pointed at the small claw marks over his right eyebrow before speaking. " Don't get me wrong, She isn't controlling me and didn't mean to hurt me but... Well it sure was a wake up call. I might be the Fire God Dragon but her fire burns brightest. " Ignia smiled softly as he glanced toward the door of the Guild Hall. " I might not be the type of guy for civilised behaviour or polite conversation but even I feel... C0ompelled to obey her will. It's almost irresistible. "
" How do you mean? " Levy looked at Ignia as he sighed softly.
" You ever want something so much that you would do literally anything to get it? " Ignia looked at Levy as she nodded before continuing. " Yeah. Her will is like that. It is so strong, So overwhelming that it makes you want to obey her. It makes you want her to command you. Makes you do anything to follow her. That's the power of will kid. Hers is absolute. Even if she doesn't realise it, She could seriously dominate all other Dragons with her will. If she ever figures that out, This world is gonna change real fast. " Ignia rubbed his head gently. " And damned be anyone who gets in her way. "
" Should we be concerned about this? " Mirajane spoke with a nervous tone before Ignia looked at her with a serious expression.
" I would call you a fool if you weren't. " Ignia took another swig of ale as everyone in the Guild Hall glanced at each other with terror in their eyes. " You have to understand, Syralogia doesn't intend or mean to hurt anyone... But she is a true Dragon. The thing you gotta know about Dragons is that conflict is in our DNA. It is part of who we are. The strongest rules by right. We only survive by being the strongest or allying with the strongest. Don't get me wrong, All Dragons are powerful beyond imagining. But every so often one comes along that has strength beyond anyone else. Acnologia is one but never had the kind of will that Syralogia has. Dragons kneel before that kind of strength. If she had any inclination, She could make even her father bend to her will. Her power is still only a flower bud before the bloom. Once her power truly awakens... " Ignia downed the last of the ale in his mug before looking at Mirajane. " That is when we will see what fate awaits us. Ferocity and Aggression is in her nature. All Dragons have that trait. It just takes some longer than others to show it. "
" You mean that someday... Syra might be like her father... " Levy spoke nervously and bit her lip as Ignia nodded before speaking.
" It is a very serious possibility. Though there is also a very serious possibility that she will dominate even her own nature. Plus... As sickening as it is... She has all of you. To... Help her... " Ignia shuddered slightly as the words left his mouth and his expression soured as if he had a bad taste in his mouth.
" Do you think... " Levy turned away nervously for a moment. " Do you think you can help her as well... Please? "
" Don't beg me kid. Me being here implies that I am gonna watch over her. Syralogia ain't just some upstart. She is a Queen among Dragonkind. A rare and unique enigma. Her power, While still blooming, Is already beyond even Acnologia. If she took him on, I daresay she would annihilate him. You have seen her Dragon Form yeah? " Ignia paused for a moment before continuing as everyone nodded. " No Dragon before her has ever had such size and strength. As far as Dragons go, Syralogia is a whole new breed of beast. If she can keep that temper of hers cool and calm, A whole new level of strength will open to her. Anyway, Enough mouth running. Time for drinking! " Ignia smirked as Laxus and Cana sat down after shoving Levy aside and they both grinned as Mirajane put mugs in front of them.
Meanwhile
Syra walked through Magnolia Town humming softly while looking for her daughters. After a few minutes, Syra walked past the small park area and noticed Natalie and Amelia running around with Romeo and a small girl that was holding a small toy pistol.
As Syra walked toward them, The small girl pointed the toy toward Amelia and made a small bang.
" Bang! Got you Amelia! " The small girl giggled happily as Amelia groaned dramatically before falling to the ground and laying still.
" Oh no! Big sis! " Natalie ran over to Amelia playfully and pretended to cry dramatically as Romeo spoke.
" She was so young! How could you do this?! " Romeo stood up dramatically as the little girl made another bang noise.
" Bang! Got you to Romeo! " The little girl giggled happily again as Romeo mimicked Amelia.
" No! Big bro! Why?! " Natalie pretended to cry again as the little girl pointed the toy at Natalie.
" Bang! I got everyone! " As she giggled again and Natalie fell over dramatically, Syra spoke.
" My, How very dangerous! Whatever shall we do? " Syra smiled as the little girl turned to her and pointed the toy.
" Bang! Got you to Dragon Lady! " The little girl giggled happily as Syra fell to the ground with a dramatic sigh and laid still for a moment before Natalie and Amelia ran over and tackled her playfully. After sitting up, Syra spoke softly.
" Made a new friend girls? " Syra smiled as Amelia and Natalie grinned happily.
" This is Asuka. Asuka is Alzack and Bisca's daughter. " Amelia spoke happily with a bright smile as Asuka spoke.
" Normally I hang around the guild when Mommy and Daddy go on jobs but I was staying with Lucy till she went on holiday. Mommy and Daddy come back tomorrow so I can hang out with Mirajane until then. " Asuka grinned brightly before running over and tackling Romeo playfully.
" What a lovely girl. I am glad you are making friends girls. I missed you while I was away. " Syra picked up Natalie and nuzzled her cheek playfully, Making Natalie giggle happily.
" Mom stop! That tickles! " Natalie giggled happily before putting her arms around Syra and hugging her tightly. " We missed you to. "
" We missed you a lot. But soon we will be strong enough to go with you on your jobs! We can even help fight! But first... " Amelia giggled as she saw Gajeel walking past the park and quickly ran over and tackled him before biting his ear roughly.
" I'm gonna eat you metal head! " Amelia growled playfully as she held Gajeel's head tightly and chewed on his ear playfully.
" OW! Get off my head brat! " Gajeel tried to reach up and grab Amelia but she shifted each time and avoided his hands as she continued chewing his ear as Syra walked over.
" Got yourself a rival Gajeel? Surely she isn't too much for the mighty metal Dragon Slayer? " Syra poked her tongue out teasingly as Amelia let go of Gajeel's ear and giggled before biting down on the side of Gajeel's neck roughly.
" Metal tastes weird... But I'm gonna eat you anyway! " Amelia made cute chewing noises as a look of disinterest settled over Gajeel's face.
" Your getting drool on my shirt brat. Chew someone else! I am not food! " Gajeel sighed softly as Amelia had a content look on her face as she continued chewing. " Syra please get your brat off me. "
" Aw... But she likes you Gajeel. Surely you wouldn't take away her toy? " Syra smirked as Gajeel glared at her with irritation in his eyes before sighing loudly and petting Amelia's head gently, Causing her to giggle and let go before running off and tackling Romeo as Gajeel wiped the drool off of his neck.
" That kid is a menace. " Gajeel spoke with an irritated tone but had an air of caring as he sighed softly. " Ain't as bad as her mother though. " Gajeel grinned as Syra smirked.
" Is that a challenge? You sure you can take me metal head? " Syra smirked as Gajeel shoved her playfully.
" Damn right I can! But it'll have to wait. Got something I gotta do. Plus I just got chewed on so I'll pass on a fight for now. Catch me up later punk. " Gajeel grinned and waved lazily as he walked away.
After Gajeel left, Syra waved to the girls before walking back to the Guild Hall. As she entered, Syra ducked as Ignia flew over her and out the door as Laxus roared with laughter. As Ignia wandered back in, Syra sighed as she saw how drunk he was as he grinned and wandered over before draping himself over Syra as she growled irritably.
" Princess is back... Where you been... " Ignia smirked playfully as Syra held him up with a frustrated look on her face.
" Checking on my daughters... Get off me Ignia! " Syra groaned softly as Ignia lazily took his weight off of his feet, Forcing Syra to hold him up entirely.
" But my legs don't work. I need someone to lean on. And you are the right height to make leaning comfortable. " Ignia grinned before falling asleep and snoring loudly as Syra heaved him onto a nearby table with a loud thud.
" Lazy ass hothead. " Syra sighed softly but grinned as Ignia rolled over and fell off the table as Laxus roared with laughter again before speaking.
" What a riot. Shoulda brought this guy round sooner. " Laxus grinned playfully as Syra walked over and sat at the bar with a sigh.
" Honestly... It's like babysitting a six foot tall new born. " Syra smiled as Mirajane giggled softly.
" He is just youthful. Though I am sure for a Dragon that youthful never wears off. " Mirajane smiled and giggled happily as Syra smirked and looked toward Ignia as he groaned and rolled over again.
" Probably not. Better to be a big baby than some old irritating wind bag though. " Syra smirked as Makarov looked toward her with shock in his eyes.
" How dare you! I am not an old irritating windbag! " Makarov spoke and glared at Syra as she smirked and spoke with a playful tone.
" So right. Your a perverted midget that likes calling us brats. " Syra grinned as Makarov stood shakily and teetered along the bar before glaring at Syra and thumping her on the head gently.
" Be nice brat. " Makarov roared with laughter before falling off the bar and snoring loudly.
" Honestly... Is everyone but Mira drunk today? " Syra shook her head as Mirajane giggled softly.
" Pretty much. Ignia challenged everyone to drinking and everyone but Cana and Laxus lost. " Mirajane smiled sweetly as Syra shook her head again.
" I love this Guild. " Syra giggled happily as Laxus spoke.
" Ain't none better. We are the best. " Laxus smiled contently as Syra nodded.
" So... Any jobs Mira? " Syra smiled as Mirajane nodded.
" Actually I have one that will suit you and Levy. An archaeological dig site has requested some help. They have come across an artefact with text on it that needs translating and they are having some trouble with a local... Well... He thinks himself a mob boss of sorts. Demands payment for protection. It's quite uncivilised. " Mirajane handed the job posting to Syra before speaking again. " It might be an opportunity for the girls too. They could learn a few things on this job. You should take them with you. " Mirajane smiled sweetly as Syra nodded and stood before leaving the Guild Hall.
After going to the park and getting the two girls, Syra found Levy in the library, Reading a book Syra had not seen before.
" What you got there Levy? " Syra sat down beside Levy as Amelia and Natalie picked up a couple of picture books and flicked through them.
" It's a book about ancient languages. I have been learning about them so I can translate things more accurately. " Levy smiled and kissed Syra's cheek as she sat down.
" Speaking of translating, The four of us have a job. " Syra smiled before handing the job posting to Levy who lit up with excitement as she read it.
" An archaeological dig site?! There will be so much to learn and read! When do we leave? " Levy looked at Syra excitedly as Syra giggled.
" As soon as you are ready. " Syra smiled as Levy almost exploded out of her chair and rushed out of the library. After a moment, Levy walked back in and spoke softly with a look of determination on her face.
" Front gate. Two minutes. " Levy disappeared again as Syra giggled happily and stood before walking out of the library with Amelia and Natalie close behind.
As Syra waited at the gate, She watched as Natalie and Amelia rolled around the ground swatting each other playfully and giggled as they bumped into her legs. As Syra watched the girls, Levy walked over with a heavy looking backpack.
" Okay! Let's go! " Levy smiled but looked toward Syra with a puzzled expression as she noticed Syra looking at her in disbelief. " What? "
" Are you packing your whole room Levy? You know we won't need anything right? " Syra smiled and giggled softly as Levy pouted.
" It's important research documents and equipment! You never know! " Levy huffed but whimpered as Syra walked over and nibbled her ear tenderly.
" If you insist love. Come on then. " Syra giggled before picking up Natalie in one arm and Amelia in the other, Causing them to gasp and look at each other in shock as Syra carried them under her arms as she walked away.
" M... Mom! Put us down! We can walk! " Natalie smiled as she wriggled around in Syra's grip, giggling happily.
" This is embarrassing... Please let us walk mom... " Amelia hummed softly as she blushed lightly before Syra put them both down and giggled playfully.
" I was just teasing sweety. I wasn't going to carry you the whole way. " Syra smiled and hugged Amelia gently before continuing to walk as Natalie giggled and the two girls walked along as they looked around, Taking in the sights and sounds of their surroundings.
A Few Hours Later
Syra, Levy, Amelia and Natalie arrived at the archaeological dig site and Syra giggled softly as Levy ran around excitedly, Looking at everything that was organised onto tables and desks.
As Levy rushed around taking everything in, Syra walked over to a nearby archaeologist and introduced herself.
" Hi there. You sent a job request to Fairy Tail for assistance right? " Syra smiled sweetly as a look of relief washed over the face of the archaeologist.
" Oh thank goodness. These translations are starting to make our heads hurt. Which one of you can translate ancient text? " The archaeologist looked at Syra before noticing Levy walking over briskly.
" This is Levy. She spends a vast majority of her time researching and translating ancient texts and runes. If anyone can translate that, She can. " Syra smiled as Levy kissed her cheek gently before following the archaeologist to a nearby table that was covered in stone tablets and scrolls. As Levy started translating, The archaeologist walked back to Syra before speaking again.
" There is also the matter of... " The archaeologist stopped suddenly as a deep voice filled the air.
" Get out here you fools! Time to pay your protection fees! " The man stood in the middle of the dig site holding a large sword as the archaeologist stepped outside with Syra in tow.
" Well... You see... " The archaeologist stammered nervously but fell silent as Syra placed a hand on his shoulder and stepped forward.
" You see... They no longer need your protection. " Syra smiled calmly as the man huffed loudly.
" And who are you to say so? " The man looked Syra up and down before motioning to step forward as Syra's body glowed softly and she changed into her transformation state.
" I am Syralogia, The Silver Dragon. This dig site and everyone in it is under my protection. Leave. " Syra had a look of ferocity in her eyes as the man and the people with him stepped back cautiously.
" What makes you think you can take us? We outnumber you! There are nine of us and one of you! " The man grinned maliciously as the people with him cheered in agreement.
" Well therein lies the paradox of the situation. You see, I am not the only one you should worry about. Girls? " Syra smiled as Amelia and Natalie ran over to her and spoke quickly.
" Solistri: Solar Flare! " Amelia levelled her aim at the mans right side and released a burning beam of sunlight that scorched the people and ground it touched as Natalie spoke.
" Lunistri: Moonlight! " Natalie spoke clearly as a ball of moonlight built up in her hands before firing forward, Sending the remainder of the people flying as it tore across the area.
" What was that about outnumbering us? Something about nine to one? " Syra, Amelia and Natalie giggled teasingly as a look of irritation appeared on the mans face.
" You will pay for this. I'll be back! " The man turned and rushed out of the area quickly as Syra giggled again as Amelia and Natalie returned to rolling around swatting each other.
After about an hour, The man came back with a much larger group of people as Syra was sitting with Amelia and Natalie.
" I told you I'd be back! Now you have to deal with my entire bandit outfit! " the man grinned as the group of people laughed and cheered in support.
" I guess I will have to do something about this then. My daughters are quite strong but I think this might be a little much for them. " Syra smiled as she stood while Amelia spoke.
" Yeah that is too much for my power. Natalie? " Amelia smiled mischievously as she looked at her sister.
" I think we could take them but I wanna see mom in action. Go Silver Dragon! " Natalie giggled happily as Syra tousled her hair before turning back to the man and speaking calmly.
" Are you truly sure you want to face me? " Syra smiled as the man huffed and spoke gruffly.
" What threat could one girl pose against all of us? " The man laughed heartily but fell silent as Syra's body glowed brightly and increased in size. The man and his group of bandits were forced to look away as the blinding light filled the area. As the light dimmed and they turned to look at Syra, Her voice filled their ears as they trembled in fear.
" I suppose you are right. What possible threat could one girl pose to such strong bandits. " Syra giggled playfully as the bandits backed away slowly.
" Boss... That... That's a... " One of the bandits fell to his knees as Syra spoke again.
" Dragon. You can run away now. " Syra spoke devilishly as she bared her massive teeth and growled menacingly, Causing the bandits to scatter in terror. As Syra's body glowed and she returned to her human form, The bandit leader spoke in anger and rushed forward.
" That does it! Now you die abomination! " The bandit leader swung his sword and froze as Syra caught it effortlessly.
" Now you are just being rude. Such poor manners. Let me teach you some new ones. " Syra grinned before slamming a kick into the side of the bandit leaders stomach, Sending him soaring across the area and crashing through a tree. As he hit the ground, The bandit leader groaned before falling unconscious. " That outta teach you something. Might not be manners but it'll be something. "
" Mom rules! " Natalie laughed playfully as Syra scooped her up and nuzzled her cheek lovingly as Amelia wrapped her arms around Syra's leg.
" You are the best mom. You'll help us get strong like you right? " Amelia looked up at Syra with hope and longing in her eyes but smiled brightly as Syra spoke.
" Ofcourse I will sweetheart. You and Natalie will be the strongest there is. You'll see. " Syra smiled as Amelia nuzzled against her waist happily. After a few minutes, Levy walked over and spoke softly.
" I have finished the translations. The archaeologists have invited us all to stay for lunch. Their cook has made a humongous cauldron full of stew for everyone. It smells so good... " Levy drooled slightly as Syra giggled happily.
" It would be impolite to refuse. Come on girls, Lunch time! " Syra smiled brightly as Amelia and Natalie followed the entrancing scent of stew while Levy and Syra giggled. Before Syra walked away, The bandit leader woke up and walked over to her calmly before speaking.
" You are something else you know that? What the hell are you anyway? " The bandit rubbed his head gently as Syra spoke.
" I'd have thought that was obvious... I am a Dragon. " Syra smiled sweetly as the bandit groaned softly.
" Well... You bested all of us. No point harassing these archaeologists now you are protecting them. I know when I'm beat. " The bandit sighed softly before holding his hand out to Syra. " Respect kid. Ain't many people can say they have bested the Crimson Fang. Name is Caelus. I lead the Crimson Fang bandit group. " Caelus grinned as he flexed his muscles to show off the tattoo on his right arm as Syra shook his free hand.
" Nice to meet you Caelus. My name is Syralogia. Syra for short. Please try to be a little less... Uncivilised. No offence. " Syra smiled sweetly as Caelus roared with laughter.
" Offence? Please. We get called worse by each other. We are rough around the edges though. You ever need a hand punk, Crimson Fang has your back. See ya round Dragon. " Caelus grinned devilishly as he handed a small, Folded piece of paper to Syra before yelling loudly as his group walked back to the area from the places they had been hiding. As they left, Levy turned to Syra.
" How is it that random people just gravitate toward you? Everywhere you go you find some wayward soul to bring into the fold. " Levy smiled as Syra giggled.
" Maybe I am just that irresistible? " Syra grinned as Levy pressed her body against Syra's.
" I'll say lover. Come on, Lets go eat. " Levy pressed a quick, Fiery kiss to Syra's lips before turning and walking toward where the archaeologists were waiting with Amelia and Natalie. As Syra followed, She glanced over her shoulder at the bandits leaving the area.
After eating a lavish meal with the archaeologists, Syra, Levy, Amelia and Natalie walked back to Magnolia Town. As they walked into the Guild Hall, They saw the other members grouped around the bar. Upon walking over, They found the other members grouped around Happy, Who was laying on the bar breathing heavily with a look of total exhaustion on his face.
" Happy? Why are you back already? Weren't you on vacation with Natsu, Erza, Gray and Lucy? " Syra spoke softly as Happy sat up and took a deep breathe.
" We were attacked. They took Erza and left the rest of us in the resort. They kept talking about Erza being their sister. " Happy rubbed his head tenderly as Syra spoke.
" Where did they take Erza? " Syra tried remain calm but it was clear her rage was building up as Happy answered.
" They called it the Tower Of Heaven. I don't know where it is. " Happy sighed softly as a look of disappointment settled over Syra's face before Ignia spoke.
" I might. I don't know if it's the place but when I was looking for a decent island I flew past a massive spire in the middle of the ocean. That might be it. If nothing else it is a starting point. " Ignia looked disinterested but quickly grinned as Syra spoke.
" Then that's where we start. You are with me Ignia. Everyone else stays here in case Natsu, Lucy and Gray come back. Levy please take care of the girls until I get back with Erza. " Syra smiled as Levy hugged her gently.
" Please be safe Syra. " Levy smiled as Syra nodded before saying goodbye to the girls and leaving with Ignia in tow.
Meanwhile
" Have you gone mad?! Etherion is our most powerful weapon and you want to fire it at the Tower Of Heaven?! Have you any idea the amount of death that course of action would cause?! " Yajima's voice echoed around the council chamber as the other council members sat speechless with looks of shock on their faces.
" Ofcourse I do. And I can live with that. The Tower Of Heaven is a severe threat. Etherion is the only logical answer. The R-System is powerful and must in turn be answered with something equally or more powerful. " Siegran spoke calmly as Yajima growled in irritation before speaking again.
" You are insane if you think I will agree to this. Etherion is far too powerful. Using it against the tower is not a plan. It is a fool's errand. Leave Etherion to it's slumber. We will find another way. " Yajima spoke coolly but had an irritated look on his face as the other council members nodded in agreement.
" And what other way do you suggest? Siegran's plan is logical and effective. Etherion will destroy the Tower Of Heaven. Unless you have another secret hidden somewhere in the folds of your wrinkled skin, Then I vote using Etherion. " Ultear spoke plainly and calmly as Yajima shot her a look of disapproval, Which she completely ignored.
" I suggest that we organise an army to go and take it down. " Yajima spoke bluntly but groaned again as Michello spoke.
" We do not have enough information to support such organisation. All we know is that a cult leader known as Jellal is currently in control of the tower. Sending an army on such little information would be foolish. " Michello spoke calmly as Yajima groaned once more.
" Then we need to discuss another way. Etherion is not an option. " Yajima spoke coolly as the other members nodded silently.
Meanwhile
" We are so lost. " Gray spoke calmly as Natsu groaned.
" I don't care... Just... Just let me get off now... " Natsu groaned loudly as Lucy sighed softly.
" You know Natsu, Getting sick every time you get on a form of transportation is honestly kinda pathetic. " Lucy sighed softly as Natsu groaned and rolled onto his back.
" Sh... Shut up Lucy... " Natsu groaned as he rolled from side to side as the canoe rocked against the gentle ocean waves.
" Juvia thinks we need a plan. Juvia thinks that we should figure out what to do when we arrive instead of following Natsu blindly as he runs around aimlessly. Juvia is surprised though... " Juvia smirked mischievously as Natsu continued groaning.
" Surprised by what? " Gray spoke calmly before Juvia sighed softly.
" Juvia is surprised that Erza was defeated... " Juvia paused as Gray shot her a look of disapproval, Causing Juvia to whimper nervously.
" Erza didn't lose. Erza never loses. Those bastards cheated or tricked her or something. " Gray turned away with irritation on his face as Lucy spoke.
" Calm down Gray. Juvia isn't wrong. Besides we... We don't know a lot about Erza. Maybe she went with them willingly... " Lucy sighed but gasped as Gray rounded on her and spoke loudly.
" Shut up! You don't know that! Erza didn't lose! " Gray crossed his arms and turned away as Lucy sighed and spoke softly.
" Put some clothes on Gray. " Lucy groaned as Gray looked down and gasped loudly as Juvia's nose started bleeding slightly.
" Why does this always happen?! " Gray picked up his shirt and put it back on as Juvia looked away as her face flushed bright red before looking toward the horizon and speaking loudly.
" Gray! Look! That must be it! " Juvia smiled happily as Gray nodded and spoke.
" Let's go then. Erza needs us. " Gray spoke coolly before steering the canoe toward the tower.
Tower Of Heaven
As Erza struggled with the magical restraints that Milliana had bound her with, Shô spoke calmly.
" You will stay in here until the ceremony tomorrow. You are going to be a sacrifice so we can find paradise. Jellal will finally complete hi... " Shô fell silent as Erza fell to the floor before standing quickly and kicking him squarely in the face before biting the ropes that bound her wrists and equipping her Heart Kruez armour as she ran out of the cell and down the corridor.
A Few Corridors Away
" You said you had a present for me! Give it to me Wally! " Milliana had a frustrated look on her face before Wally spoke calmly.
" Well I did have a gift for you! But it seems to have escaped. That little blue cat could even talk..." Wally scratched his head with a bewildered look on his face as Milliana's eyes looked as if they would explode out of her head in excitement.
" You got me a blue cat?! GIVE IT TO ME NOW! " Milliana looked like she was going to die of excitement as Wally looked at her in confusion.
" I just told you that it escaped you idiot! " Wally turned and walked away as Milliana groaned in frustration.
" Sorry to interrupt this odd little exchange but Erza has escaped. Jellal wants us to find her. Erza is more than likely going to try to attack Jellal so we should make this quick. " Simon spoke bluntly before walking out of the room as Milliana and Wally groaned irritably.
Magic Council
" That idea is ridiculous! "
" Yours is no better idiot! "
" The only idiot here is you! "
" All of you are idiots if you think that Etherion is a good idea! "
" Shut up Yajima! You haven't even got an idea you old fool! "
As the council members argued, Siegran glanced toward Ultear subtly before clearing his throat loud enough to cause the council members to turn and face him as they fell silent.
" The Tower Of Heaven is too dangerous to be left standing. Etherion is the only way to guarantee it's total destruction. " Siegran spoke calmly before Yajima rounded on him once again.
" Fool! I have already said that Etherion is too powerful. It is even more powerful than the R-System. Using Etherion is not an option! Besides, It was you who told us that the tower was no threat if it was left unfinished! We should have destroyed it long ago! " Yajima had a look of frustration on his face as Ultear spoke.
" I agree with Siegran. Etherion is the only valid answer for the tower. " Ultear had a calm expression on her face as Siegran spoke pleadingly.
" Council members, I implore you to see reason. No, I beg you to see reason. Etherion is a valid and efficient answer to this problem. It will destroy that tower. I beg you for three more votes. Allow me to handle this. " Siegran fell silent and watched as the council members returned to arguing amongst themselves as Ultear smiled coyly.
Outside The Tower Of Heaven
" There are way too many guards. We should find another way in. " Gray spoke with a tone of irritation in his voice before Juvia spoke up.
" Actually... Juvia found an underwater tunnel that leads into the tower... I can make helmets for you all so you can breathe underwater while we swim. " Juvia blushed brightly as Gray haphazardly petted her head and grinned.
" Let's get going then! Erza is waiting for us! " Gray smiled as Juvia began forming helmets using her water magic. After a few minutes, The group stepped out of the water and looked around as they took off the helmets.
" These helmets are so useful! Great work Juvia! " Lucy smiled happily before Juvia looked toward her in surprise and spoke sheepishly.
" Yours... Actually should have failed. Juvia made yours smaller than the others so you would not make it. " Juvia shuffled her feet awkwardly as Lucy looked at her in shock and spoke loudly.
" YOU WHAT?! I COULD HAVE DIED! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! " Lucy descended into shock and terror as Juvia glared at her coldly.
" Because you are Juvia's love rival. Juvia does not tolerate love rivals. " Juvia glared at Lucy for a moment before a nearby guard shouted loudly.
" INTRUDERS! OVER HERE! " The guard rushed toward them as several more joined him with angry looks on their faces.
" Dammit! I didn't think we would get spotted this fast! We have to fight them! " Gray had a look of frustration on his face as he rushed forward and started fighting the guards. After a few minutes, The guards were defeated and Lucy sighed before noticing a door nearby opening.
" Hey guys! A door opened! " Lucy smiled before walking toward the door with Gray, Juvia and Natsu in tow.
Throne Room
" Why do you allow our enemies to enter the tower?! That is strategically unwise! " Vidaldus spoke with a tone of voice that was a mix of shock and disapproval as Jellal chuckled.
" This all just a game to me Vidaldus. These enemies just defeated a level and so are allowed to move on. My plan will be successful no matter what they do. " Jellal chuckled maliciously as Vidaldus sighed softly.
" And what of the Magic Council? Surely they pose a problem if they attempt to stop us? " Vidaldus had a tone of concern in his voice but sighed again as Jellal chuckled.
" The Magic Council are not a problem. They will do exactly what I want them to do. Focus on the ceremony. " Jellal spoke calmly before Vidaldus sighed and left the throne room.
Magic Council
" You cannot seriously agree with this Leiji! It is a misuse of Etherion! We cannot condone this course of action! " Yajima spoke disappointingly as Leiji shook his head.
" Irrelevant. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good. The Tower Of Heaven is a significant threat. Etherion is the answer. " Leiji spoke with conviction in his voice as Yajima growled loudly.
Tower Of Heaven
" This way guys! " Lucy smiled before screeching to halt as a second, Larger group of guards rushed toward them. As they were about to react, Erza's voice echoed around the room.
" WHERE IS JELLAL! HE WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS! TELL ME WHERE TO FIND HIM! " Erza rushed forward and started fighting the guards. Within a few minutes, The guards were all defeated as Erza sighed irritably before gasping as Lucy spoke.
" Erza! It's so good to see you! " Lucy hugged Erza tightly as Erza looked at them with bewilderment on her face.
" What are you all doing here? " Erza spoke in surprise as Natsu grinned before speaking.
" We came to rescue you! Let's get out of h... " Natsu fell silent as Erza spoke.
" You should leave. This is my problem to handle. Go home. " Erza turned to walk away but stopped as Natsu spoke.
" Who do you think we are? We aren't some kind of baggage you can just toss aside whenever it is convenient for you! We are a guild Erza! A family! We aren't leaving you here. Besides, I think they have Happy. I haven't seen him in ages so I'm kinda worried. " Natsu scratched his head for a moment before Erza sighed.
" I might as well tell you everything then. This might take a while. " Erza looked at her friends, Silently hoping they would not want to hear her story but sighed softly as her hope was dashed. " Alright. When I was young, A cult tried to build a tower to resurrect the Dark Mage, Zeref by using the R-system, Also known as the Tower of Heaven. They used slaves to build it. I was one of the slaves. My friends, Wally, Shô, Millianna, Jellal, and Simon were also slaves. After a while, We tried to escape but we were caught. I was taken to the dungeons and was tortured with such severity that I lost my right eye. Porlyusica made me a prosthetic eye and repaired the damage to the nerves and tear ducts in the eye socket. I don't know long it was but Jellal arrived to save me and told me that we had to fight to survive, But we were caught again and the guards beat Jellal while I was sent back to my cell. While he was being beaten, Jellal was possessed by something. He believes it was the soul of the Dark Mage, Zeref. It changed him. Before he was kind but after that thing possessed him, He became violent and honestly... I think he lost his mind. Once I got back to my cell, I became angry and attacked the guards. I freed my friends and we started a revolution that at first seemed successful. We quickly ran into trouble when Mages got involved. It all happened so fast. A magic blast was coming at me but before it hit me, Another prisoner, Rob, Stepped in front of me and took the hit. He had always treated me as a granddaughter... He... " Erza paused for a moment as tears built up in her eyes before she continued. " He... He died in my arms... Seeing him die to save me... It... It made me so angry. I wanted to make them pay for killing him. I remembered what Rob had told me about Magic and I could feel it inside me. I let it out. I turned the tools the slaves had used and the weapons from the guards into my own weapons and defeated every guard that I could find. After that, My friends got onto a boat to leave but Jellal was still in the tower so I went back to find him. When I found him, Jellal attacked me. He kept saying that he was going to finish the R-System and resurrect Zeref to gain his true freedom. I defended myself but a few guards came in and attacked us. Jellal killed them even though I tried to stop him... Then he attacked me again, Using Darkness Magic. The last thing I remember is Jellal telling me not to tell anyone about the tower or he would kill everyone. After that I woke up on an island... Alone. I cried for days about what I had been through before I left the island, Searching for the Guild that Rob had told me about. That's when I came to Fairy Tail. " Erza paused for a moment as she wiped the tears away and took a breathe. " That is why it is my job to stop Jellal. I can't let anyone interfere. "
Magic Council
" Etherion will kill everyone in that tower. Including innocent bystanders. Are you truly willing to risk that? " Yajima spoke with force, Trying to make Siegran see the error in his recommendation.
" I am. The threat is greater than the the risk. We must stop the R-System from being used. " Siegran spoke with determination and waited as the council members fell silent. After a few minutes of silence, Belno spoke.
" I vote to use Etherion to destroy the tower. The threat is too great. " Belno spoke calmly and sighed as the other members turned to her with looks of shock.
As the council members returned to arguing, Jellal smiled from the throne room in the Tower Of Heaven.
" Just one more vote... "
Meanwhile
" We are almost there. We should act as quickly as possible to rescue your friend and get out of there. " Ignia spoke calmly as he flew alongside Syra.
" I agree. Any wasted time is an opportunity for our enemies. We should be quick. " Syra spoke calmly as she looked toward Ignia. " I appreciate your help Ignia. "
" Doesn't matter to me if you appreciate it or not. I'm here because I choose to be. " Ignia spoke disinterestedly as Syra giggled.
" Ofcourse you are. Just for the fun of it yes? " Syra giggled as Ignia looked at her approvingly.
" Whoever these punks that took your friend are, They better put up a good fight. " Ignia grinned playfully as Syra shook her head.
Tower Of Heaven
" Why did your friends call you a traitor at the casino Erza? I thought you grew up with them? " Lucy spoke softly as Erza turned to face her.
" Correct. I honestly don't know why they think I am a traitor. Jellal probably made up a lie to turn them against me... But we can't let Jellal do this. Zeref was the most powerful... And cruel Dark Mage in history. He created Lullaby and probably created Deliora too. We have to stop him. " Erza spoke with determination but fell silent as Shô's voice startled her.
" Jellal told us that you put bombs on our ships and that if he hadn't noticed we all would have died. He made us go back to work on the tower, Claiming that it was a sign that the tower had to be built. " Shô spoke with frustration in his voice as Erza stepped toward him slightly.
" Shô I would never do that! I would never hurt my friends... " Erza spoke soothingly as Shô spoke angrily.
" That son of a bitch! HOW DARE HE MANIPULATE US! " Shô growled angrily before falling silent as a second voice made Erza look toward a nearby doorway.
" It was simple to see Jellal was lying. I have always trusted Erza. You should too. " Simon spoke calmly as he looked toward Shô, Who had a look of confusion on his face.
" But how do we know either of them are telling the truth? " Shô turned away but sighed softly as Erza walked over and hugged him tightly.
" I am so sorry Shô. I was too weak to protect you all when we were young. But I am strong now. Jellal will not get away with this. Please help us stop him. " Erza stepped back and smiled as Shô turned to face her with a devilish grin.
" Stop him? I'm gonna pummel that bastard into the ground! " Shô grinned widely as Simon nodded in agreement.
" Follow us. We will take you to throne room. Be warned, He has... " Simon fell silent as Milliana and Wally ran toward them.
" There she is! Wait... Shô? Simon? Why aren't you capturing Erza? Jellal needs her for the ceremony. " Milliana looked between Shô and Simon with confusion on her face before Simon spoke.
" Jellal has lied to us Milliana. Erza never betrayed us. Jellal has been manipulating us all along. " Simon spoke calmly as Milliana shook her head.
" NO! Jellal would never betray us! Erza tried to kill us! " Milliana stepped back but looked conflicted as Shô spoke.
" What proof did we ever have Milliana? We believed Jellal blindly but he never gave us proof that Erza put bombs on the boats. He never even showed us any bombs. He lied to us Milliana. If anyone is our enemy it's Jellal. " Shô spoke with a tone of anger but his words were filled with truth as Milliana's eyes filled with tears.
" He was only using us? Why? " Milliana cried softly as Erza spoke.
" To resurrect the Dark Mage, Zeref. Jellal thinks that he is possessed by Zeref's soul and is trying to resurrect him to gain true freedom. It's all a lie Milliana. He has been using you all to build the tower so he could achieve his goal. " Erza hugged Milliana gently as she finished speaking but everyone froze as Jellal's voice echoed throughout the tower.
" Attention everyone. It is time to begin the Paradise Game. The goal of this game is to stop me from using Erza to resurrect the Dark Mage, Zeref. To stop me, You will have to fight and defeat Trinity Raven. Also, Etherion is going to destroy the tower so we have precious little time before we all die. Good luck. "
" That egotistical bastard! I'm gonna kick his ass! " Natsu spoke loudly as flames seethed out of his mouth before Erza spoke.
" No! I am the one to fight Jellal. The rest of you need to deal with Trinity Raven. " Erza raised her hand as Natsu motioned to argue. " Please trust me Natsu. I can handle Jellal. "
Natsu stayed silent for a moment before groaning loudly. " Fine! Doesn't matter anyway. I'm gonna have so much fun kicking those Raven guys asses! "
Before anyone could say anything, Natsu ran off in the direction Milliana and Wally had come from as Erza sighed softly.
" He has no idea where he is going does he? " Milliana spoke with a tone of disbelief as Lucy shook her head and ran after Natsu as Gray spoke.
" Juvia, Go with Lucy and help her find Natsu. I'll stick with Erza. " Gray spoke calmly as Juvia turned to him and protested.
" Juvia wants to stay with her love! Juvia does not want to go! " Juvia huffed and turned away as she crossed her arms before Gray spoke again.
" I need you to do this for me Juvia. Natsu is an idiot and Lucy isn't very strong. If either of them get captured they will be in trouble. " Gray spoke coolly before Juvia sighed and ran after Lucy as Erza turned to Milliana.
" Not usually. Plans and patience are not Natsu's strong suite. Look I know not all of you trust me but I would never hurt any of you. You are my friends. We grew up together and looked out for each other. I need your help. I don't expect you to believe me but I have to stop Jellal. I can't let him do this. Zeref is the cruellest mage to ever live. The destruction he could cause if he is resurrected would be catastrophic. " Erza spoke pleadingly but froze as Milliana, Wally, Simon and Shô all grinned.
" We are with you Erza. Let's put that bastard in his place. " Shô grinned devilishly as Milliana mewed cutely.
" No one manipulates us. He was supposed to be our friend. He needs to pay for what he did. " Milliana grinned playfully as Simon tousled Erza's hair gently.
" Let's put an end to this. Together. " Simon smiled as Erza smiled happily.
" Thank you all. Lead the way to the throne room and we will end this. " Erza smiled as the others grinned and nodded before running toward the throne room.
Meanwhile
After a few minutes, Juvia had caught up to Lucy. As they walked, Juvia spoke softly.
" Juvia does not understand why she has to help you. Juvia wanted to stay with Gray. But... Juvia will do it because her love asked her to. " Juvia spoke softly but froze as a voice sounded from nearby.
" How sweet. " A man dressed in blue pants, a long cloak, spiked shoulder pads and white boots with red toes and heel stepped out of the shadows with what looked like a guitar in his hands.
" Juvia will handle this! " Juvia spoke fiercely before rushing forward and speaking clearly. " Water Slicer! "
As the water surged toward the man, He chuckled and stepped out of the way quickly as he spoke. " Not even an introduction before attacking? How rude. I am Vidaldus Taka. " Vidaldus grinned maliciously as Juvia spoke.
" Juvia does not care! Juvia will defeat you! " Juvia spoke fiercely before pointing her arms forward. " Water Lock! "
Vidaldus looked surprised for a moment as Juvia's water surrounded him in a large sphere before he grinned and the water seemed to disappear. As Juvia looked shocked, Vidaldus spoke clearly.
" You will make an entertaining slave. Rock Of Succubus! " Vidaldus spoke clearly before strumming his guitar.
As the sound reached Juvia, She felt a sensation ripple through her body before a bright light surrounded her. As Lucy watched, Juvia's clothes changed before she turned toward Lucy and smiled maliciously as she spoke clearly.
" Water Slicer! " Juvia's water exploded toward Lucy, Who barely managed to dodge as she spoke.
" Juvia stop! We are friends! Please don't do this! " Lucy spoke pleadingly but to no avail as Juvia giggled softly.
" I don't care. I am going to kill you. " Juvia spoke viciously before giggling softly and running forward. As she reached Lucy, Juvia seized her dress and tore it away before moving back and speaking clearly. " Water Cane! "
Lucy screamed painfully as the whip like lines of water thrashed against her body over and over.
" Oh what fun! I could turn you both into slaves but watching a cat fight is just too exciting! " Vidaldus chuckled as he watched Juvia pin Lucy to the ground with her water. As Lucy struggled against Juvia's water, She spoke softly.
" Juvia please... I can't hurt you. We are friends. Please don't do this... " Lucy spoke pleadingly once again but this time gasped softly as she heard Juvia's voice echo into her mind as the water trapping her heated up slightly.
" Juvia does not want this. Juvia does not want to attack her friend. Juvia loves Fairy Tail because Juvia has finally made friends... Help me... Help me Lucy... Juvia does not want this! "
As Juvia's voice faded, The water keeping Lucy trapped loosened it's grip for a moment, Long enough for Lucy to roll away from Juvia. As she stood, Lucy spoke fiercely.
" That does it. I don't like it when people hurt my friends. Time to end this. Open: Gate Of The Water Bearer: Aquarius! " Lucy spoke clearly as she pointed the key toward Juvia, Summoning Aquarius using Juvia's Water Body. As she appeared, Aquarius had a look of irritation on her face as a torrent of water exploded out of the urn she was holding. As water filled the room, Lucy managed to swim to Juvia and seize her hand before speaking.
" Combine your water with Aquarius. We might be able to beat him Juvia! " Lucy smiled as the magic Vidaldus used wore off and Juvia nodded. As the water in the room began swirling violently, Vidaldus spoke.
" That won't work! I can absorb... Wait! That's too much water! STOP! " Vidaldus yelled loudly before the water receded, Leaving him on the floor, Unconscious.
As Juvia and Lucy celebrated, Aquarius glared at them. " How many times have I told you not to summon me in strange places! A fountain, A fish bowl and now out of some girls body?! And you have the gall to summon me moments before I go on vacation with my boyfriend?! " Aquarius glared menacingly as Lucy trembled before continuing to speak. " If you ever summon me in a strange place again, I will kill you! Don't summon me for the next two weeks. I am on vacation. " Aquarius disappeared before Lucy could say a word.
After a few minutes, Juvia spoke softly. " Lucy should be proud. Lucy defeated our enemy. "
" We both defeated him Juvia, As a team. Wait... You just called me Lucy..." Lucy smiled happily as Juvia turned away sheepishly.
" Juvia is tired. Juvia needs to rest. " Juvia sat down and leant against a wall as Lucy yawned softly.
" Good idea. I need rest to. " Lucy sat down and sighed softly as she closed her eyes.
Throne Room
" Impressive. They achieved Unison Raid. " Jellal spoke calmly as he knocked over several pieces on a chess board on the table next to him.
Magic Council
" That decides it. Etherion will not be used. " Yajima spoke with a tone of confidence before Siegran spoke.
" I urge you to reconsider. Jellal's plan is far more sinister than just activating the tower. I believe he intends to use it to resurrect the Dark Mage, Zeref. If that happens, The consequences could be catastrophic. " Siegran spoke with a tone of urgency as the members of the magic council looked at him with looks of shock.
" Tell us everything you know Siegran. " Belno spoke softly before Siegran began explaining.
A Few Hours Later
" You cannot be serious?! This is the wrong decision! " Yajima spoke angrily as the other members all voted to use Etherion.
" You clearly do not understand how severe a threat Zeref is. Etherion is the only way to prevent his resurrection. " Siegran spoke calmly as Yajima shot him a disapproving glance.
" And you accept living with the death this course of action will cause? " Yajima had a fierce look on his face as Siegran nodded.
" Yes I accept it. This is the answer. Etherion will destroy the tower and stop the resurrection of Zeref. There is no other way. " Siegran spoke firmly as Yajima walked toward the door of the council chamber.
" I don't like it. Accepting the loss of so much life with no hesitation is unsettling. You will all face the consequences for this. " Yajima groaned angrily as Siegran spoke.
" Whether or not you like it is irrelevant Yajima. The decision is made. " Siegran turned away as Yajima walked out of the chamber. " Let us prepare Etherion. It needs some time before it can be fired. "
The Magic Council approves the use of Etherion.
