A Dragon's Call
Chapter 11
" What have you done to her... She is barely more than a shell of who she was... " Levy's voice trembled as Irene laughed loudly.
" Done to her? I made her mine. My personal toy. " Irene laughed loudly as rage built up in Levy's eyes and her sword appeared in her hand.
" You... You... YOU BITCH! " Levy screamed as she swung her sword at Irene.
" NO! " Irene woke up sweating and breathed heavily as she looked to Syra sleeping soundly beside her. " Why... Why the hell am I dreaming these things... Why am I so concerned... " As Irene sighed, Syra stirred slightly. As Syra rolled over, Irene smiled and laid back on her pillow and sighed softly.
Meanwhile
" Ugh... Did we really have to take a boat... " Laxus groaned loudly as he leaned against the side of the ship.
" I thought Natsu was the only one that got sick on transportation... " Erza giggled softly as Laxus glared at her before groaning again.
" That being said... I really was willing to fly us there. " Ignia sighed as Levy spoke.
" It may have been faster but Irene is a Dragon too. We saw her in her Dragon form when she came to Magnolia Town to see Syra. Syra sensed her before anyone even knew she was coming. It is a simple thought process to assume that Irene is capable of doing that too. Your Dragon form is just too... " Levy paused for a moment but stayed silent as Ignia chuckled.
" Too amazing for a stealth mission. Yeah I get it. " Ignia grinned as Levy shook her head and smiled. " Still... It's gonna take forever to get there this way. "
" It doesn't matter how long it takes. I will have my love back if I have to personally burn Dragnof to the ground to achieve it. " Levy seethed with rage as Ignia grinned.
" So the aversion to war was just for Natsu then? " Mirajane spoke with concern in her voice and winced as Levy whirled around with a look of absolute rage on her face.
" Yes it was. " Levy turned back around and sighed. " But never for me. "
Kingdom Of Dragnof
" Mistress? Are you awake yet? " Syra spoke softly but giggled as Irene groaned loudly. " I made you breakfast Mistress. If you get up now it will still be hot. "
" You... Made breakfast? " Irene giggled as Syra pouted irritably.
" As surprising as it may be, I do have talents beyond pleasure and obedience Mistress. " Syra turned away in a huff as she pouted again but her expression softened as Irene put her arms around Syra and held her gently.
" I did not mean it like that darling. I was simply surprised that you went to all that trouble just for little old me. " Irene giggled as Syra relaxed against her.
" Well if you don't want it, I could always throw it away. " Syra smiled coyly before walking out of the room as Irene giggled.
" Such a sassy little thing. Oh how I adore having her as my toy. " Irene smiled devilishly as she got changed and left the bedroom.
A Few Days Later
" So this is it...Dragnof... " Levy looked at the towering wall that loomed over them and the massive open gate that showed a vast city beyond. " Ignia? "
" What? " Ignia yawned as he looked toward Levy.
" Can you sense her? " Levy glared through the opening in the gate as Ignia spoke.
" Yeah. Syra is in the main castle. I assume the other one is Irene. Why? " Ignia yawned again but quickly became motivated as Levy spoke.
" Go break something. Get Irene out of the cast... " Levy froze as a familiar voice echoed down from atop the gate.
" I thought I smelled someone fa... " Syra stood atop the gate in her mage outfit but froze as her eyes fell upon Levy before a look of horror appeared on her face. " No... This is a trick... You... You... "
" Syra... " Levy smiled brightly as tears welled up in her eyes but as she smiled, Syra's voice echoed again, This time her voice trembled as she spoke.
" This isn't real... Your dead... This isn't real... " Syra stepped away slightly as Levy looked toward her with shock on her face. " N... No... This isn't right... I need to tell Mistress... " Syra quickly turned away and disappeared from view as Levy burst into tears.
" She thinks I died... What the hell has Irene done to her... " Levy sobbed softly and fell to her knees. After a moment, Ignia placed a hand on Levy's shoulder as he spoke.
" That's so weird... I still sense her in the main castle... But now I sense her running toward the castle... What the hell is going on... " Ignia scratched his head for a moment before groaning loudly. " Whatever... What n... " Ignia fell silent but grinned as Levy's sword appeared in her hand and she stood slowly as she spoke.
" We get her back. Go break something... Hell... Break everything for all I care. Syra is mine. I will take her back by force if I have to. " Levy's eyes burned with rage as silver flames ignited along the blade of her sword. " I am not leaving here without her. "
" Now your speaking my language. " Ignia laughed as his body changed into his Dragon Form and his voice exploded through the area. " THIS MEANS WAR IRENE! I'M GONNA BURN YOUR TOWN TO ASH! " Ignia laughed maniacally but fell silent as Irene's voice echoed across Dragnof.
" So barbaric. Have it your way. Annihilate them my sweet. "
" Yes Mistress. " Syra's voice made Levy spin around just as Syra's fist slammed into the side of Levy's head, Tossing her out of the way as Mirajane and Erza looked toward Syra with shock on their faces.
" Snap out of it brat! " Ignia seized Syra's arm after his body returned to his human state but he groaned loudly as Syra kicked him in the chest, Sending him sprawling along the ground as Erza spoke.
" Stop Syra! We are your friends! We will not fight you! " Erza spoke softly but stepped back as Syra turned to face her.
" Then you will die. " Syra breathed in as a look of rage settled over Mirajane's face as she changed into her Demon State.
" That is enough. " Mirajane exploded forward and slammed her fist into Syra's face, Forcing Syra backwards as Irene's voice exploded into the air.
" HOW DARE YOU LAY A HAND ON MY TOY! " Irene voice faded as a thunderous roar filled the air and Irene's Dragon Form took to the sky.
" Syra is not a toy you selfish bitch. " Levy stood shakily as Syra turned toward her as her mouth glowed softly. " Syra is an amazing girl and the love of my life. And you took her away for no other reason but your personal entertainment. " Levy groaned softly as she wiped the blood trickling down her chin away.
As Syra breathed in, Levy looked toward her with sadness and heartache in her eyes as she spoke. " Do it. I would rather die than see you like this. " Levy closed her eyes as she sighed softly. " I would rather die than see you as someone elses puppet. You promised you would never use your magic against me. But just do it... "
" Kill her my pet. Kill her and we can go back to the lovely life we have been living. "
" Pet... Is that all you are now? A pet? " Ignia spoke with disgust in his voice as Syra froze. " Just a mere plaything? The girl I saved from that storm was a queen among peasants. That is not who I see now. "
" Speak plainly Ignia. " Syra spoke irritably and glared toward Ignia as he grinned.
" There she is. There's the queen I would follow. I didn't sense it before but now... I can see you in there. That bitch broke you... She tore everything that you were away and replaced it with a puppet. But your still in there kid. So if you really wanna stop me, Then kill me or get out of my way. " Ignia transformed into his Dragon Form and flew up toward Irene as Syra held her head as if she had a headache.
" This can't be right... I heard you and Amelia die... But I couldn't see... Was it all fake... Was everything... " Syra fell silent as Levy cupped her face and kissed her lovingly. After several minutes, Levy stepped back and smiled soothingly.
" I am right here... I would never leave you alone in this world. " Levy smiled brightly as Syra trembled and pulled away from her before holding her head again.
" No it isn't right... She took away my eyes... She took away so much... She took... " Syra fell to her knees as her entire body trembled heavily. " And... Amelia... Natalie... THIS ISN'T RIGHT! "
" Don't believe them my darling! They are trying to trick you! " Irene spoke loudly before Ignia slammed into her.
" Trick... It's a trick... She isn't really here... " Syra stood slowly and turned to face Levy with a look of rage. " You tried to trick me... I almost questioned my Mistress. How dare you try to deceive me. "
Levy barely had the chance to dodge as a beam of silver energy exploded toward her. " Syra please! I promise you that I am really here! "
" Stop lying to me! YOU AREN'T HERE! " Syra breathed in again but as her mouth filled with glowing energy, Levy rushed forward and slapped her hard, Forcing Syra to fall backwards in shock. " What... "
" Don't you dare say I am not here. Don't you dare... " Levy bit her lip as tears streamed down her cheeks. " I came across the damn ocean for you. I listened to Laxus groaning and complaining for weeks to get you back. I put aside all of my fear and worry to bring you home. Don't you dare tell me that I am not here. " Levy bit her lip as she slapped Syra again. " Don't you dare break my heart Syra... Don't you dare... " Levy cried softly as Syra looked up at her in shock.
" You... " Syra rubbed her cheek gently as Levy fell to her knees. " You are here... You came for me... But Mistress... She said... " Syra gasped loudly as Levy lunged forward and pinned her to the ground as she spoke.
" She is not your Mistress. You are not a toy or a slave or anything. You are mine. You are my Syra. My Dragon. Not hers. " Levy leant down and pressed her body against Syra's gently before kissing Syra gently. As she pulled away, Levy spoke softly again. " You have no idea how much it hurt when I found out you disappeared. Or how much joy I felt when I found out where you were. I have been so scared Syra... So scared that you wouldn't come home. Please don't make all my fear a reality... Please... " As Levy finished speaking, Syra flipped her onto her back.
Levy looked up but gasped as Syra's hand changed into a silver claw. " Syra... D... Don't... "
Levy looked up in horror and froze as Syra's claw descended on her. As Syra's claw tore through the exposed flesh of Levy's shoulder, A splatter of blood sprayed across Syra's face, Causing her to step back suddenly. As Levy screamed in pain, The scent of blood filled Syra's senses. After a few moments of crying, Levy looked toward Syra and fell silent as she watched.
Syra trembled for a moment as the glazed look that had been filling her eyes slowly faded away as she spoke. " Levy... That smell... She's here... Levy is here... But... Wait... B... Blood... Levy's blood... No... No, No, NO... WHAT HAVE I DONE?! "
" There you are... I knew you were still in there... " Levy whispered and smiled brightly but her smile faded as Syra screamed.
" WHAT HAVE I DONE?! WHY IS LEVY'S BLOOD ON MY FACE?! " Syra seemed dazed as she swiped at the air in an attempt to clear away the scent of blood as she took a breathe, Immediately intensifying the scent.
" SYRA! " Levy's voice exploded toward Syra as she stood and ran toward her as Syra screamed again. As Syra screamed, Levy tackled her and pinned her to the ground, Forcing Syra to look into her eyes.
" Come back to me... Please come back to me... " Levy leant down and kissed Syra gently. As Levy broke the kiss, The dazed look in Syra's eyes slowly faded away.
" Levy... Irene... She... She took away... " Syra bit her lip as bright blush appeared on her cheeks. " She took my purity from me... She took it away... "
Levy shook as she gritted her teeth and stood up before looking up toward Irene with an unbridled rage in her eyes as she shouted as loud as possible. " I WILL KILL YOU IRENE! SOLID SCRIPT: METEOR! " As Levy yelled, A massive chunk of earth exploded toward Irene. As she dodged easily, Irene spoke.
" Pathetic. Did you rea... " Irene fell silent as a ferocious, Spine rattling wave of energy echoed into the air as Ignia turned back into his human form and dropped out of the sky, Landing with a solid thud as he spoke.
" It Is her... " Ignia looked toward Syra as a wide grin stretched across his face. " I KNEW IT! IT ISN'T JUST A LEGEND! "
" What... Legend? What are you talking about? " Levy spoke in confusion as another wave of energy filled the air slowly followed by the scent of blood.
" IMPOSSIBLE! It's just a legend! " Irene spoke forcefully, Her voice echoing through the area but she wilted slightly as another wave of energy rippled through the air.
" When I called her a Queen I meant it. But not just because of the power of her will. There are two sides to her. The Silver Dragon is the side of her that is good and pure. Then there is the side that Irene awoke when she ripped the purity away. The Crimson Dragon. The side of Syra that is rage and fury. It is fuelled by blood and conflict. That's why despite struggling with the death she causes, She will never be able to stop. This is her true nature. On one hand, Purity and kindness. On the other, Rage and bloodshed. The balance between the two is her greatest strength. Unbalancing one or the other is her greatest flaw. Irene has tipped the scale. Now we will have to try and handle her... " Ignia paused as deep blood red scales began covering Syra's skin. " Somehow... "
" You made me break my promise. I swore I would never hurt Levy. You made me break the most important promise I made to her. " Syra paused as she glared up at Irene with glowing red eyes filled with a paralysing rage as Irene trembled. " I am going to kill you. Slowly. Painfully. And when you think it is over... I will heal your wounds and start over again. Only when I am satisfied that you have suffered as I have will I end it all. " Syra bent her knees before rocketing toward Irene with such speed that it almost appeared as if she had vanished and reappeared. As Syra floated in front of her silently, Irene changed back to her human form and fell to the ground, A horrified look on her face as she spoke.
" Syra... Please... I am so sorry for torturing you... Please... " Irene spoke shakily as a malicious grin spread across Syra's face.
" Grovelling now? Pathetic bug. " Syra landed before kicking Irene hard, Sending her barrelling across the area, Tearing a wide trench in the ground as she slid along it. When she came to a stop, Irene coughed lightly before looking up as Syra landed in front of her and seized her hair before lifting Irene into the air as she flapped her wings and slowly rose off the ground. " I will paint this kingdom in your blood Irene. Every brick. Every stone. Every house and shopfront. "
Syra laughed cruelly as she swung Irene by her hair and threw her against the wall surrounding the city. As Syra landed again, Ignia stepped in front of Irene. " Move Ignia. "
" Come on brat. You are better than this. " Ignia spoke calmly but stepped back slightly as an overwhelming feeling filled his senses.
" Defiance? " Syra stepped forward as a massive wave of energy echoed out of her. As Ignia motioned to speak, Syra raised her arm as if to hit him but stopped as she felt someone seize her arm. " What... " Syra froze as she turned to see Levy holding her arm tightly, Tears streaming down her face as she spoke shakily.
" This isn't you... This isn't the Syra I fell in love with. That I adore and desire. This is not the Syra I want to live with... Or the Syra that I want to raise our girls with... You are so much better than this. You are so much better than her. Don't become like Irene... Please come home Syra. Please be the gentle, Loving, Caring, Sweet, Wonderful girl that I fell in love with. That is the Syra I want to spend my entire life with. That is the Syra that I want to live with and give my entire heart and life to. Please Syra... Please... " Levy cried softly as Syra trembled lightly.
" Levy... I... " Syra found herself speechless as Ignia spoke again.
" You are a queen Syra. A unique and special enigma. Even among Dragons. I would follow you anywhere and gladly bend to your will. But only if you dominate your nature. Your greatest strength is balancing the two sides of who you are. Without balance you can never be the queen I can see inside your soul. Dominate your rage. Dominate your nature. " Ignia spoke coolly before kneeling before her and waiting as Syra stepped away from him.
" Balancing... But... But all I want is to make her feel the pain she caused me! " Syra growled as she glared toward Irene as Ignia stood.
" I know. Which is why Levy and I didn't come alone. " Ignia smirked as Syra gasped softly as someone wrapped their arms around her gently.
" There she is... Laxus and I went to try sneak in and find you and you have been here at the front door the whole time. " Sorano giggled softly before biting Syra's ear gently, Causing her to gasp as Levy growled irritably. As Syra blushed lightly, Sorano licked the bite mark slowly before speaking softly. " I have wanted to speak to you in private. Won't you come home? "
" So... Sorano... What are you... " Syra gasped loudly as Sorano bit Syra's neck playfully.
" Just being me... Don't you like it... " Sorano giggled playfully as Levy marched over.
" Stop doing that Sorano. NOW. " Levy gritted her teeth irritably as Sorano giggled.
" I have no idea what your talking about. " Sorano smiled before biting Syra's ear again gently.
" KNOCK IT OFF! " Levy had a look of frustration and irritation on her face as Syra squirmed her way out of Sorano's grip but immediately bumped into Laxus.
" Your nothing but trouble brat. We come all the way out here to get you back and here you are, Messing about with Irene while we worry about you. " Laxus had an irritated look on his face as Syra ducked under his attempt to pick her up. As she avoided Laxus, Syra froze as she felt a familiar chill run up her spine as the gaze of both Mirajane and Erza burned holes through her.
" Do you have any idea how worried we have been?! " Erza spoke with a frustrated tone of voice as Syra trembled slightly.
" You are coming home Syra. NOW. " Mirajane spoke fiercely as Syra wilted beneath her gaze.
" Mira... Erza... I... " Syra spoke shakily as the scales on her skin receded slowly.
" We can figure it out together Syra. All of us. But we need to go home first. Please? " Levy spoke softly and smiled for a moment before Sorano put her arms around Syra.
" Race you. " Sorano giggled happily as Syra glanced up at her. " Oh you haven't discovered it yet? Let me show you. " Sorano smiled playfully before biting Syra's ear again. As Levy motioned to move, Sorano and Syra vanished.
" What the hell? " Levy looked at Erza and Mirajane who both looked as surprised as her as a soft chuckle echoed from Ignia.
" Didn't think she was going to notice. " Ignia chuckled before changing into his Dragon form. " Come on then. We best not keep her waiting. " As everyone climbed up Ignia's wing, He shot a ferocious glare at Irene, Who was still trembling at the residual energy Syra had left behind. " You ever come near her again and I'll burn you from the inside out. Insects like you are beneath her. " Ignia took off and flew toward Magnolia Town as his words echoed into Irene's mind.
Meanwhile
" So... Sorano what are you... " Syra spoke softly as Sorano licked her neck gently.
" Shh. Just relax. I am not the barbarian that Irene is. My touch will only ever be gentle and soothing. " Sorano sighed softly as she kissed Syra's jaw gently.
" You... You said you wanted to talk... And how did we even get here... " Syra looked around at the bedroom that she was so familiar with. The scent of Levy's hair filling the pillow she was laying on as Sorano spoke soothingly.
" Your magic becomes unpredictable when you are emotionally flustered. I thought that by creating a bit of... Well... Control... That I might be able to trigger magic you had yet to learn. " Sorano smiled sweetly before pressing her body against Syra's slowly. " While it isn't the most common of magic's, I assumed that given enough persuasion, Magic that you don't normally use could be emulated due to your magical instability. Ofcourse you won't be able to use that magic again but it achieved what I wanted. "
" But... What... " Syra fell silent as Sorano caressed her cheek gently.
" I want... I want to ask you for something... And I will give you something in return. But first... I want... I... " Sorano blushed brightly before kissing Syra gently and turning away.
As Syra sat with a look of shock on her face, Sorano spoke softly. " So that's... "
After a moment, Sorano shifted and leant against Syra gently before holding a small pouch up to her. " I want to remain here. I want to be by your side. I know how you feel about Levy, But I want this anyway. But... I also want... I want a bond with you... In exchange... I offer you the Celestial Spirit Keys I have gathered in my journeys. " Sorano blushed lightly as Syra took the pouch of keys as she spoke.
" But... A bond with me? Why? " Syra spoke softly before Sorano hummed softly.
" Because... During my time with Oracion Seis, I learned a type of magic that let's me summon... Well... Angels. Or at the very least a form of Celestial that is strong enough to help me. But... Forming a bond with you... The strength of your magic might allow me to tap into true angel magic. Your two daughters use a form of minor angel magic. The magic I want to use is much more powerful and thus requires an emotional bond with a being just as powerful. " Sorano sighed softly before pressing her body against Syra's. " I know what Irene did to you Syra. But I can take all that pain away. My touch will be soothing and gentle. My kisses will wash away all the impurity that she has forced upon you. Just relax. "
" But... But Levy... " Syra spoke softly and blushed lightly as she turned away. " I have betrayed her enough already... " Syra bit her lip as tears built up in her eyes.
" I... I understand. It feels like betrayal to be touched by anyone else. On top of that... " Sorano ran her hand along Syra's thigh, Causing her to jump away. " The pain from Irene's actions is still burning within you. " Sorano stood and walked over to Syra cautiously before wrapping her in a gentle hug. " I will never hurt you. Your are more important to me than just having powerful magic. When you came to the castle that day... When you stood before me with all your rage and energy seething out of you... I was genuinely terrified. I have never feared something before. But you... You scared me. But I didn't stay scared. Because even though you were angry, I saw your love for Levy filling your eyes. I wanted that too... I wanted you to look like that with me in your eyes. But now... " Sorano stepped away slowly before sighing. " Now I just want to be with you. Your bond with Levy is the foundation of your strength. But I want to be the foundation of your control. When you become unbalanced you are dangerous to everyone. Including yourself. Let me be the bond that keeps your emotions balanced. "
" How would yo... " Syra fell silent as Sorano pressed a tender kiss to her lips before speaking softly.
" Shh... Just relax... " Sorano smiled sweetly before kissing Syra again gently.
Meanwhile
" When I get my hands on Sorano... " Levy growled irritably but fell silent as Ignia spoke.
" You will do nothing. " Ignia spoke as he flew at a speed that allowed conversation.
" What the hell do you mean nothing?! She is toying with Syra just like Irene! Syra is mine Ignia! Only I am allowed to touch her that way! " Levy spoke with ferocity but once again fell silent as Ignia groaned.
" You won't have a whole lot of say in that now. Irene's actions have had permanent consequences. Syra is walking the edge of the blade between silver and crimson. Any sway to either side will cause an incident. You keep her calm but Sorano, As you saw, Has a unique way of taking Syra by surprise. As much as you want Syra to yourself, She needs Sorano as much as she needs you. You may have to start sharing. " Ignia sighed softly as Magnolia Town came into view.
" I JUST GOT HER BACK! I AM NOT SHARING HER WITH ANYONE! " Levy shouted and turned away as Ignia rolled his eyes.
" Like I said runt, You may not have any say in that. " Ignia sighed again loudly as Levy bit her lip.
A Few Hours Later
After flying back from Dragnof, Levy went to Lucy's house to talk.
" WHAT?! Ignia thinks Sorano will be as important to Syra as you are? That's ridiculous! " Lucy shook her head in shock as Levy spoke.
" But what if he is right Lucy... What if I do have to share her with Sorano... I can't take it. After everything Irene did to her... Took from her... Now Sorano just pops up and wants Syra. I'm just so lost. I don't want to share her but... " Levy sighed as Lucy petted her head gently.
" You should talk to Syra about this. She will understand how you feel. " Lucy smiled sweetly but her smile faded as Levy looked up at her with despair in her eyes.
" You didn't see it Lucy. Syra is a different person now. She was ready to kill Irene with no hesitation and she hurt me. Look... " Levy pulled the shoulder of her shirt down to reveal the wound from Syra's claws. " Actually I need to redress it. Can you help me? "
" I would never have thought that Syra would do that. Ofcourse I will help. Let me get my first aid kit. " Lucy smiled and walked to the kitchen of her apartment before returning with a small medical pouch and taking a bandage, Gauze and a bottle of clear liquid out of it. " Now hold still. This might sting a little. " Lucy took the lid off the small bottle and tipped the liquid onto Levy's wound. As the liquid bubbled, Levy winced slightly as her wound stung. After wiping the liquid away, Lucy placed a piece of Gauze over the wound and bandaged it tightly. " That should do it. I don't know much about medicine but Porlyusica has been at the Guild a lot lately so ask her to take a look. "
" Yeah I will. But I need to see Syra first. " Levy sighed softly as Lucy motioned to speak. Before Lucy could say anything, An explosive roar echoed through Magnolia Town.
" Was that Syra? Wonder what is going on… " Lucy spoke as Levy rushed out of her apartment and ran toward the Guild Hall.
As she arrived, Levy noticed that the Guild Hall was empty before hearing voices coming from outside. As she walked out, Levy saw Sorano standing behind Syra, Who was covered in Crimson scales. As Levy motioned to speak, Sorano spoke.
" Good. Again. And don't lose focus. " Sorano smiled as Syra took a deep breathe.
" Crimson Dragon's Roar! " A deep red glow filled Syra's mouth before she breathed out, Releasing a column of deep red energy in a line as the smell of blood filled the air around her. As the energy dissipated, Syra growled angrily as Sorano spoke.
" No! Concentrate! " Sorano held Syra tightly as Syra growled again. " Stay in control! Remember our bond! "
Sorano held Syra tightly as Syra breathed in again. " Crimson Dragon's Roar! "
As the second column of blood red energy barrelled across the ocean waves, Sorano leant forward and kissed the side of Syra's neck gently. " That's it... Concentrate. You control your magic and rage. They do not control you. " Sorano smiled sweetly as Syra growled aggressively as her eyes glowed a deep red and she shook herself out of Sorano's grasp before breathing deeply.
" Crimson Dragon Secret Art: Cosmic Roar! " A torrent of energy, Similar to Astral Roar but with differing colours barrelled across the waves as a massive roar exploded through the air. After a few moments, The energy dissipated and the crimson scales covering Syra's skin receded slowly as Sorano put her arms around Syra and held her gently.
" There you are. " Sorano smiled sweetly as Syra sighed exhaustively and leant against Sorano.
" I'm so tired... " Syra relaxed as Sorano held her gently.
" Ofcourse you are. Crimson Dragon pushes all your magic into overdrive. But it comes with a lot of drawbacks. Every time you use Crimson it will leave you physically, Mentally and magically exhausted for a few days. Also, You will find that some of your magic won't work for a while after each time. You... You will find the scent of blood irresistible from this point on. Even the smallest drop will drive you mad. " Sorano spoke calmly but her voice wavered slightly as she continued. " Crimson Dragon is a very dangerous and very unpredictable state. It has changed you to your very core. Your personality has expanded but also lost parts of itself. For example, Where there was once kindness, There is now Ferocity. You may find the person you were to be a total stranger now. But don't you worry dear. We will figure it all out. " Sorano smiled sweetly as Syra sighed softly before falling asleep as Sorano picked her up.
As Sorano walked past, She noticed an irritate look on Levy's face. " Speak up blue. Something is clearly bothering you. "
" Ofcourse something is bothering me! It took me and Syra weeks... WEEKS... To develop our bond! And you traipse in and within a day you get the same?! HOW?! WHY?! " Levy spoke with frustration and irritation before Sorano giggled softly.
" You didn't notice back in Dragnof? Syra can't resist my touch. All she had for weeks was Irene and her toys. The first truly gentle touch she felt was mine. Can you honestly not understand what effect that had? " Sorano smiled mischievously before continuing past Levy with Syra in her arms as Levy fumed silently.
" This is all wrong... It shouldn't be this way... " Levy bit her lip as tears built up in her eyes before Erza placed a hand on her shoulder and spoke softly.
" I know this isn't what you were expecting but this is what Syra needs right now. We will all help you to get through this Levy. " Erza smiled softly but Levy pulled away from her and stormed into the Guild Hall. " I think we are about to have one of those incidents that Ignia mentioned. "
" This is not gonna be good... " Mirajane spoke with worry before rushing into the Guild Hall as Levy's voice exploded through the building.
" SORANO! GET AWAY FROM HER! NOW! " Levy had a look of outrage on her face as Sorano sighed softly and stood up after leaning Syra against the table carefully.
" Could you be any noisier blue? You are gonna wake her up. " Sorano smiled as Syra stirred slightly.
" Syra is mine Sorano! MINE! There is no power in this universe that will make me share her with you! " Levy spoke fiercely but growled as Sorano giggled.
" Are you really stupid enough to try saying that to Syra? To try telling her what to do? " Sorano smiled impishly as Levy looked toward Syra as she sighed softly.
" Syra means more to me than anything in the world. I can't share her Sorano. " Levy spoke softly but winced slightly as Sorano seized her wounded shoulder with enough force to cause blood to seep through the bandage.
" And what do you think Syra will see when she looks at you now? Think she will see you? Or will she see your blood on her hands and taste it in her mouth? Do you really think that wounding you doesn't come with consequences?! You aren't that stupid blue. Think about it. And keep it down. Syra is tired enough without more drama. " Sorano sat down again before gently moving Syra onto her lap and holding her gently as she slept.
" You don't know that. You don't know that her love for me will change. " Levy spoke softly before Sorano giggled.
" Oh that is not what I am saying blue. It won't. She loves you as much as she did before Irene got her claws into her. What I am saying is that wounding you haunts her. Every time she closes her eyes she relives hurting you. " Sorano spoke with concern in her voice as a few whimpers escaped Syra's lips. " Even now... "
" No... No... Not Levy... " Syra squirmed slightly but sighed as Sorano kissed her cheek gently as a look of pain slowly etched onto Levy's face.
" She really does need more than me doesn't she... " Levy spoke softly as she sat down and ran her fingers through Syra's hair.
" Look I don't want to steal her from you blue. But that doesn't mean I'm walking out. I know it isn't what you wanted or what you planned on happening but this is what Syra needs. You and I are just going to have to get along. " Sorano smiled slightly but turned quickly as a small yelp of pain echoed from behind the bar. As Mirajane held up her hand, A small drop of blood ran down her finger from the small cut on her fingertip as she spoke.
" Ow... Paper cut... " Mirajane bit her lip as Erza giggled.
" It's so cute that..." Erza froze as Sorano spoke loudly.
" Shit! Mira you need to get out! NOW! " Sorano stood up quickly as the scent of blood filled the air and Syra stood up slowly.
" It smells sweet... I need it... I want it... " Syra lifted her head slowly as her eyes glowed deep red and red scales covered her skin slowly. " Let me have it... "
" Now hold on... Let's just take a breath Syra... " Sorano spoke soothingly as a shiver ran down her spine.
" Take... A breath... " Syra breathed in as blood red energy filled her mouth.
" THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT! " Sorano shouted as she leapt sideways before Mira, Levy and Erza followed suite as a beam of energy exploded out of Syra's mouth as she breathed out. " Get control Syra! "
" Give it to m... " Syra groaned as Mira collided with her and sent her barrelling across the room.
" That's enough of that Syra. I think you need a time out. " Mirajane stood in the middle of the Guild Hall in her Demon form as Syra stood and growled softly.
" Time out... Time... Out... " Syra spoke as if she was in a trance as Sorano stood up and dusted herself off.
" Talking won't work Mira. Blood is all she can process when she is like this. Short of knocking her unconscious, She is going to be a handful. " Sorano sighed as Mirajane giggled softly.
" It would be no fun otherwise. " Mirajane turned to face Syra as she lunged forward.
" GIVE IT TO ME NOW! " Syra threw a punch as her fist erupted into blood red flames. As the punch was about to hit, A splash of red red hit Syra in the face and she stumbled backwards before swiping at the air in an attempt to rid herself of the intense smell as Levy spoke softly.
" You have no idea how much this hurts Sorano... Knowing that my blood is a smell she just can't stand. Knowing that my blood causes this... " Levy motioned towards Syra as she bit her lip before Syra fell to her knees and spoke shakily.
" No... No not again... Please not again... I can't take hurting her again... " Syra wiped the blood off her face as tears built up in her eyes. " I can't do this... " Syra's wings appeared shortly before she flew out of the Guild Hall as Levy burst into tears. After a moment, Sorano walked over to Levy and placed a hand on her shoulder but as she motioned to speak, Levy stood and pushed her away gently.
" Please don't touch me Sorano. There is nothing you can do or say to make this alright. The love of my life responds to my blood like it's the plague. Please just don't. " Levy walked away quietly as she recovered from the wound on her shoulder before Lucy followed her out.
" I... I just... " Sorano sighed softly. " Screw it. I have no idea how Levy is feeling. Syra is important to me but... I have no idea how it feels to be toxic to the person you can't live without. "
" Toxic? That isn't it Sorano. " Erza spoke calmly as she walked around the bar and sat beside Sorano. " It isn't about that at all. Levy's blood causes Syra to relive her worst nightmare. Her worst fear. Hurting Levy has always been Syra's greatest fear. Irene's actions forced that fear to become reality and now she relives it when she sleeps and smelling Levy's blood doesn't just open the wound, It tears new ones in the same places. "
" Is there any way to fix it? To take away that endless agony? " Sorano spoke softly as Mirajane placed a hand on her shoulder.
" Firstly you need to share. Getting along with Levy is all well and good but you are the only one cuddling and comforting Syra. Let Levy do her share. Secondly, You need to talk to Levy. Claiming that Syra needs you both is fine but back up those words with actions that show Levy that you are not just thinking of yourself. " Mirajane smiled as Sorano sighed again.
" This sharing thing is exhausting. It would be so much easier to take Syra for myself. Why do I even care if Levy feels left out. " Sorano turned away with a huff as Mirajane sighed.
" That attitude is exactly why she will never be yours. You are still here. Guess where Levy is. " Mirajane spoke firmly as Sorano groaned.
" Well she is searching for... " Sorano paused for a moment as the realisation sunk in. " Oh... "
" Levy and Syra love each other in ways you just can't imagine. Syra fell in love with Levy the moment she first arrived here. You are just... Well... " Mirajane looked nervous as Sorano sighed.
" Just... Being a distraction... " Sorano sighed loudly as Ignia made a loud groaning noise.
" Well no shit. Honestly you are just a distraction for our little queen till she comes to terms with the fact that she hurt Levy. You are never going to take her place. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be around. When I said to Levy that she may have to share I meant it. But that is a decision for Syra alone to make. Until she makes that choice, Quit being a bitch to Levy and show a little restraint. Your unbalanced self control is making me sick. " Ignia turned away disinterestedly as Sorano pouted annoyingly.
" Jackass. " Sorano turned away as Ignia groaned in an uncaring manner.
" That he may be but Ignia is not wrong Sorano. You aren't making Syra's choice any easier. " Erza spoke forcefully as Sorano looked away sheepishly.
Meanwhile
" Why... Why do I keep seeing this?! WHY CAN'T IT JUST STOP?! " Syra held her head gently as tears flowed down her face freely.
" Because you can't escape what you did to me Syra. " Levy walked into the small clearing as she pulled the bandages away to show the deep claw wound on her shoulder that was still healing.
" Levy please... I can't... " Syra spoke shakily as she stared at Levy's wound with horror on her face.
" Can't what Syra? Can't accept that you nearly took my arm off? Can't handle that you broke your promise to me? Can't believe that you didn't recognise me when I was barely ten centimetres from your face? Can't believe that you treat my smell like it's poison? Can't handle that you are breaking my heart every second that passes? YOU CAN'T WHAT?! " Levy screamed the last words in a voice that was filled with pain and heartache. As she continued, Syra trembled. " You have no idea Syra. No idea how much this hurts me. To hell with the wound, I don't care that I will have scars on my skin. I care about the scars you are leaving in my heart by avoiding me. By treating me like I am the worst thing you can see. Treating me like you can't stand me anymore. I love, Adore and desire you more than anything else in this damn world and you are acting like I don't even exist. "
" Levy... I... I... " Syra tried to speak but fell silent as Levy screamed again.
" SHUT UP! " Levy had a look of agony on her face as her eyes filled with tears. " I DON'T WANT EXCUSES! YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS! YOU ARE BETTER THAN A PITIFUL CHILD THAT THINKS SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO SUFFERS! YOU ARE BETTER THAN BEING A SELFISH BITCH LIKE SORANO AND YOU ARE BETTER THAN IGNORING ME! "
Syra was speechless as Levy walked forward and slapped her as hard as she could.
" Until you realise that, Don't talk to me. Stay the hell away from me. I never want to see you like this. If this is how you are going to act and treat me than I never want to see you again. " Levy burst into tears as she rushed out of the clearing and back to Magnolia Town as the stitches holding her wounds closed tore open while she ran, Leaving Syra speechless in the clearing thinking about Levy's words as the sting in her cheek intensified slightly.
A Few Days Later
" She hasn't left the house. The only people she let's in are the girls. I am worried about her. " Erza spoke calmly but with a worried tone as Mirajane sighed softly.
" We can't rush this. We just have to wait until she is ready. " Mirajane spoke soothingly but bit her lip as she turned away.
" Mira... " Erza watched sadly as Mirajane shook her head and went on with her usual routine.
After a few hours, Levy walked in and sat at the bar before Lucy and Porlyusica walked over with medical supplies and began tending to her wounds.
" No! Use the other bandage! Humans... " Porlyusica groaned as Lucy giggled and put the bandage back before picking up the one that Porlyusica had pointed to with a sly grin on her face.
" How have you been feeling Levy? " Lucy spoke sweetly and smiled but her smile faded quickly as Levy turned to face her with puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks.
" I am dying inside Lucy... I said the most terrible things to Syra when I went to see her in the clearing... I slapped her. I was so... Angry and upset that I couldn't help it. I said everything that was on my mind and then just left her there. How could I be so horrible to her... " Levy sobbed softly as tears built up in her eyes again.
" Telling her what has been troubling you isn't horrible Levy. She is your lover. She will understand. " Lucy smiled but looked shocked as Levy shook her head.
" I told her I didn't want to see her again... I said that she had been acting like a bitch and that if she didn't change I never want to see her again. " Levy sighed but gasped softly as Syra's soft voice filled her ears.
" Which is why I need to leave. " Syra turned and walked toward the door as Levy watched her sadly. " I... I'm sorry Levy... " As Syra changed into her Transformation State and took off, Levy motioned to speak but it was too late.
Two Weeks Later
" Look what I have done Mira... I pushed her away when she needed me most and now she is gone. " Levy bit her lip as Mirajane spoke.
" What you have done? Levy please don't be that foolish. It's depressing. " Mirajane scowled as Levy looked at her in shock. " Syra has been different since the council sent her away. Being betrayed like that... It... It shook her trust in others. "
" In ways you haven't yet realised. " A soft, Feminine voice echoed through the hall from the doorway as everyone froze and turned to see who spoke.
As everyone looked, A young woman, A tall man in plate armour and several other soldiers in armour stood in the doorway.
" Allow me to prese.. " A tall man in plate armour spoke calmly but froze as the young woman spoke again.
" That is unnecessary Arcadios. I can introduce myself. Wait outside please. " The young woman spoke softly as the man looked shocked.
" But... " Arcadios motioned to protest further but fell silent as the young woman shot him a disapproving glare. " As you wish. "
As the soldiers stepped outside, The young sighed exhaustively. " All that protocol and policy is such a nuisance. Anyway, My name is Hisui E. Fiore. "
" Princess of the Fiore Royal Family... What are you doing here? " Levy spoke calmly as Hisui giggled.
" Actually I should be asking you that Levy. Did you not receive my letter? " Hisui smiled sweetly as Levy looked confused. " I'll take that as a no. Then let me explain. Just over a week ago, Syra came to the palace. She told me everything that happened and everything the council caused. I immediately took guards and tracked down all the members of the council that were involved in her slavery. Since, The King has disbanded the magic council entirely. All of it's duties and responsibilities have since become mine. The only voice the magic council now has is my own. I... Am not sure that I am ready to carry such a responsibility but... I will try. " Hisui sighed nervously as a soldier walked into the hall wearing gleaming armour covering black clothing and a fabric mask that covered half of her face.
" You will do fine milady. But we haven't the time to waste. " The soldiers voice sounded familiar but no one really noticed as Hisui nodded.
" You are right. We have much to do. Let us away. " Hisui smiled as the soldier nodded and walked out of the hall. " You will have to forgive me for my sudden arrival and departure but I do have much work to do. "
" Wait! " Erza spoke suddenly as the soldier turned to look at her. " That is not the armour of the Fiore Army. Who is that? "
" Hmm? Oh... Tillani? She has been my personal guard for years. I had the armour made for her on her birthday last year. She has... Extravagant tastes. " Hisui giggled happily as Tillani continued out the door. " When I return to the palace I will have Syra contact you. "
" Something tells me she already has... " Mirajane giggled softly as Hisui smiled.
" One can never know. Thank you for your time. " Hisui bowed politely before turning and leaving. After getting into her carriage, Hisui spoke calmly. " You know I really don't like lying to them. I don't like lying to anyone. "
" It is necessary milady. I am not ready to tell them. I am not ready to go back. I came to you because I need your help. I need to find myself and you can help me with that. Until then... " Syra spoke softly as she removed her mask and helmet. " I need them to think I'm at the palace. "
" I know. But I don't have to like it. " Hisui crossed her arms slowly but as she pouted, She noticed Syra biting her lip. " Wait... I didn't mean it like that Syra. I just mean I don't like lying. "
" I know what you meant. Hisui it was so hard to walk in there like that and see Levy without reacting. It was so hard to stay calm. It was so hard to resist taking my helmet off and telling Levy how much I love and miss her. " Syra sighed softly as Hisui put her hand on Syra's shoulder.
" I know it was but it all went to plan. Mirajane is the only one that noticed. You really think she will... " Hisui gasped loudly as the door opened and Mirajane landed in the cart gracefully before shifting into her human form. " You know it's quite unsettling how predictable that was... "
" I knew you'd come Mira. " Syra smiled before hugging Mirajane tightly.
" You are in so much trouble! But I missed you so much sweety so I just can't stay mad. " Mirajane giggled softly as Syra spoke.
" Did anyone see you leave? " Syra smiled as she shifted back from Mirajane.
" See me leave? Sweetheart they wouldn't see an avalanche if it hit them between the eyes most days. No one noticed anything. As far as they know I've gone on a spa retreat for some well deserved Mirajane time. " Mirajane giggled and smiled sweetly before looking toward Hisui. " So why did I meet you in a moving carriage and how are you Hisui E. Fiore's personal guard? "
" When I got to the palace I met someone that changed... Well... Everything. Someone I thought was dead. Someone... Extremely important to me. More important... Than even Levy. " Syra had a look on her face that said the truth of her statement was distasteful.
" Who could possib... HOLY SHIT! " Mirajane looked stunned as Syra giggled.
" Yeah I said that too. Wait till you meet her! " Syra smiled happily as Hisui giggled.
" I have been friends with her for many, Many years. She raised me. To say that I see her as a mother doesn't even begin to cover it. Though she is married to my father so she is my mother but... It's kind of weird really... I never thought of what it would be like to have a sister but then Syra turned up and... Well... Yeah... " Hisui blushed lightly as Syra giggled. " It's actually been quite nice having someone my own age around. There were so many things I couldn't talk about with anyone else. "
" It has been wonderful spending time with you Hisui. It's so nice to have someone my own age that I can totally trust and rely on. " Syra smiled happily as Hisui nodded and giggled.
" By the way Syra, You still owe me that flight. You promised. " Hisui pouted adorably as Syra smiled.
" And I always keep my word milady. The moment we return to the palace, I will give you that flight. " Syra smiled happily as Hisui squealed excitedly.
" Why do I get the feeling that you fit in perfectly in the capital? " Mirajane giggled softly as Hisui spoke.
" Because she does. She belongs with us there. She always will. " Hisui smiled as Syra hugged her lovingly.
" Honestly Mira... Even at Fairy Tail it kind of felt like I was just... " Syra sighed as Hisui put her arm around Syra gently.
" Distracting yourself. I know. I figured that much out the moment you showed up with Lucy and Natsu. " Mirajane sighed softly as she continued. " You are one of us though Syra. We want and love you. Your are a precious little sister to both Erza and myself. Levy adores and loves you beyond reason and comprehension and your two daughters all but worship the ground you walk on... I get that you feel at home in the capital but you will always have a home at Fairy Tail. " Mirajane smiled sweetly as Syra sighed again.
" I feel torn Mira. Being in the capital with Hisui just... It feels right. It feels like I belong there. It feels like it is where I am meant to be. When you see why... You'll know why I left. But... The hard part is deciding whether or not I wanna go back... " Syra looked at Mirajane sadly as a look of surprise etched onto Mirajane's face.
A Few Days Later
" I honestly didn't think the capital was so far away... " Mirajane spoke exhaustively as Hisui giggled.
" Further than it seems and much further than it looks on a map. " Hisui spoke softly as Syra stepped out of the carriage and pulled her face mask up before putting her helmet on.
" We must return to the palace milady. She will be eagerly awaiting our return. " Syra spoke calmly as Hisui smiled and nodded.
" We aren't taking the carriage to the palace? " Mirajane spoke calmly as Syra giggled.
" Milady does not take carriages through the city. We always walk. It's... Soothing. Besides, Milady enjoys walking amongst her people. " Syra giggled softly as Hisui turned and walked toward the palace as the people walking the streets stopped and waved as she passed by. As they walked, Hisui would stop every so often at a market stall or shopfront to speak to the people tending them. After about an hour of walking through the capital, Hisui, Syra and Mirajane headed to the palace. As they arrived, A young woman waved to Hisui.
" Princess! Welcome back! "
" Thank you Tillani. And thank you for lending Syra your armour. " Hisui smiled as Tillani blushed brightly.
" I only did it because you asked me... " Tillani squirmed nervously as Hisui ran a finger along her jaw as she walked past.
" I know. Now come along. Mother will be waiting for us. " Hisui smiled as Syra nodded and walked into the palace.
As they entered the throne room, Mirajane gasped loudly as she saw the woman awaiting them. The woman was tall, Had shimmering silver hair, Skin almost as pale as Syra's and two large, White, Feathered wings stretching from her upper back. As Syra and Hisui rushed forward and hugged her tightly after Syra took off and dropped her helmet, Mirajane walked forward tentatively and slowly.
" Stop lingering little one. I won't bite. " The tall woman spoke soothingly as Mirajane trembled slightly.
" But... I... I... " Mirajane froze as the woman stood and spoke again.
" You think I will harm you because you are a Demon? " The woman turned to face Mirajane and gazed at her with enchanting golden eyes as Mirajane trembled again. " Just because I am an Angel does not insinuate that I despise Demons. That is a simple misconception that humans have. "
" You won't hurt me... Got it... But who are you? " Mirajane spoke shakily but slowly started to relax as she noticed Syra wrapping her arms around the woman's waist, Totally at ease and relaxed as the woman spoke.
" Oh... Forgive my lack of manners. My name is Arael. I am Syra's birth mother. " Arael smiled sweetly as a look of shock and disbelief appeared on Mirajane's face.
Syra's mother appears after years of Syra believing her dead.
Will this influence Syra's decision to stay or leave Fairy Tail?
