Hey guys, it's really been awhile. Like... a year or so. But I'm ready to continue the Heroes of Old and hopefully complete it (no due dates). This chapter is in honor of the first three episodes of Game of Thrones that were released.
.
Tion ran his fingers down his sword as he sat against a tree. The blade of Tion's sword was as wide the the sword's cross guard (the long part between the hilt and the blade) and as long as Tion himself, who was taller than the average human (Fred and George tall). The man who held the blade was shrouded in mystery. He wore a red full body robe that was torn around the sleeves and lower half and covered all of him except his hands and the front of his legs, only to be hidden behind gloves and boots, which were pitch black except dried blood stains, which matched the color around the sleeves rim. The only color besides red or black that was on this man was the rotted green color around his hood. The man's face was hidden in darkness, for his hood's mouth showed no expression, no secret, no answer.
"You know, this world must be really shitty if it caused both Aslan and Orion to drag five other worlds into this" said Tion to his companions "But I guess there are worlds that will cause those two to be overwhelmed, especially now that the Emperor is involved"
"If your not here to help, why are we here?" said Fay. Fay was a woman that wore the robes of the Dark Wizard Catchers, the Aurors. Some Aurors, like Alastor Moody, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Nymphadora Tonks wore outfits of there own choice. But most Aurors, usually strict or low ranking ones, wore red, green, or brown coats that went down above the ankles. Except Fay's was dyed, the sleeves dark red with yellow star design pattern, the upper half of the coat was emerald green with a white diamond pattern, and the lower half of the coat was ocean blue with crimson spirals pattern over top. Underneath her Auror's coat, she wore a black skin tight suit, which showed off her ample chest and appealing curves. The woman herself had dark blue hair that was neat and combed around her head but was wild and untamed as it went down her neck. In her coat pocket was the handles of two wands, an unusual style even for skilled wizards like Dumbledore or Voldemort.
"This one remembers" said Skaladuk "For Tion's own amusement and amusement alone"
Skaladuk was a Barabel. Barabels were reptile-like like the Trandoshans except several shades of green and owning long tails. Barabels were aggressive and had great hunting skills like the Trandoshans except their honor and loyalty were second to none, especially in the Jedi. Even today, where the Jedi are all but gone, their loyalty to them has never wavered. Barabels around the galaxy outside their home have found their place mostly by being hired as muscle or mercenaries. Skaladuk wore Mandalorian armor, black with red on the actual armor. Hanging on both sides of Skaladuk's belt were a pair of twin pistols.
"Hah, that's a simple way to put it Skala" said Tion "Many people go off and on about how protecting others is both a duty and an honor, yet they always forget the golden rule" He got up and slashed the tree behind him in one stroke, the tree falling backwards as it slammed into the ground with a loud 'thump'. "To each his own. Orion was always too busy watching the worlds with Aslan to see it. People like him will only watch as others become King or live a happily ever after. But people like him, oh people like him never even see that saving a world never brings peace. Narnia was rid of the White Witch thousands of years ago, tell me friends" he turned to his companions "Is it in peace now?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"No, now it's overrun with Telmarines with it's original inhabitants living in forests and tombs. That's the point, there's no such thing as true peace. Only a decade or even a century of relaxing days until some fucker with an army or a weapon comes along to break the calm of the worlds. For people like you lot, who only ever live so long, maybe it sounds okay. But I don't have a due date with death, neither does Orion. And he spends his days watching one world solve their problems only for another outbreak. And on and on it goes. And the worst part of it is, that your one can only be a watcher and watch as worlds solve their own problems until Aslan says otherwise. I got tired of watching never ending conflicts or new conflicts or resurrected conflicts" he twirled his sword one handed "So I decided to start my own conflicts. And I've been happy ever since. Are you lot happy?"
"Yes Tion, greatly" said Fay as she smiled and rolled her eyes.
"This one agrees" said Skaladuk, though more seriously "Many challenges have come our paths, all cleared by Tion"
"Now that's a happy lot" said Tion. He turned his attention to his last companion "And what of you Bornrol? Why so quiet?"
Bornrol turned his face to Tion. Bornrol was a Rowra. While his upper body was that of a man, his lower body was that of a tiger in a centaur-like fashion. Rowras were secluded creatures that lived in Narnia that only revealed themselves to other Narnians when Caspian I invaded Narnia. Bornrol himself had tan skin and long dirty orange hair. Where Bornrol's ears should be were two pair of pointed tiger ears. Laying Next to Bornrol was a long spear as long as Tion's sword, the blade of the spear being nearly half as long as the handle of the spear.
"It was not wise to let him go" said Bornrol.
"Him? Oh you mean Blacky. Don't worry about that moody joy kill. His business is not my own" said Tion.
"How can you trust a man who only joined you as a means of self-exile?"
"The same reason I have you three with me. Because I choose to"
"And do you trust his business at Winterfell?" asked Bornrol.
"Oh I got a guess what Blacky is gonna do once he reaches the Wolf Kingdom. Though it looks like he'll be the second uninvited guess to arrive"
"So ignoring that old fool" said Fay as she walked over to Tion "What do we do now?"
"Well according to my mind's map, were at the Hornwood, Blacky went North-West to Winterfell, so if we go South-West, we'll enter the Riverlands" said Tion.
"Why the Riverlands though?" asked Fay.
"Seems like the most fucked up place right now. Good place to hide our actions with the Mountain and Witch-King running around"
"But their on one side of the Riverlands, we'll be on the other" said Bornrol.
"True, but if were cunning and sneaky enough, any activity then will just be seen as Lannister activity. Only Orion and Yaylanna know about me here out of the Billions of people in Westeros"
"What will you do if you run into Orion?" asked Fay.
"Well I can't kill him. Last thing I would want. Although the people around him are another matter" said Tion.
.
"Having a rough time of it?" asked Jon to Sam as he watched Grenn trying to push the sledge out of the mud, the other Night's Watchmen riding past them.
"Nothing's killed me yet" said Sam.
"Your ass killed the sledge" said Grenn bitterly.
"You offered me a ride!" countered Sam.
"I just wanted you to shut up about your damn blisters" said Grenn.
Jon kept riding until they finally reached their destination, Craster's Keep. Jon dismounted his horse and looked around.
"I was born in a place like this" said Dolorous Edd. "Later I fell on hard times"
Sam walked up next to Jon and Edd and looked around until he saw something he hadn't seen in a long time.
"Are those girls?" said Sam as he eyed a girl carrying something as she walked away from the Night's Watch.
"Craster's daughters" said Edd.
"I haven't seen a girl in six months" said Sam as Grenn stepped next to them.
"I keep on not seeing them if i were you" said Edd.
"What? He don't like people messing with his daughters?" asked Grenn.
"He don't like people messing with his wives" said Edd.
Jon, Sam, and Green looked at Green at a mix of surprise and disgust.
"He marries his daughters, and they give him more daughters, and on and on it goes" said Edd.
Sam shook his head "That's foul"
"It's beyond foul" said Grenn.
"All the other Wildlings have disappeared for a hundred leagues. Craster's still here. He must be doing something right" said Edd as he walked away.
Sam and Grenn just continued looking on with disgusted faces until-
"What happens to the boys?" asked Jon.
Sam looked to Jon "Hmm?"
"He marries his daughters, what does he do with his sons?"
.
Jon stood around the fire as Lord Commander Jeor Mormont sat around the fire talking to Craster.
"He said he planned to stop here on his way to the Frostfangs" said Mormont.
"People make all sorts of plans. I haven't seen Benjen Stark in three years. Haven't missed him. Always treated me like scum" said Craster as he took a sip of Wine "Ah, haven't had any good wine in a long time. You Southerners make good wine, I'll give you that"
"We're not Southerners" said Jon.
"...Who's this little girl? You're prettier than half my daughters. You got a nice twat between your legs?! What's you're name?"
"Jon Snow"
"Snow eh? Listen to me bastard. All you lot from the south of the Wall, you're Southerners. But now you're in the North. The real North" said Craster.
"The lad meant no harm" said Mormont.
"I catch that pretty little bastard talking to my daughters-"
"No one will talk to you're daughters, you have my word" said Mormont as he turned to Jon "Now, sit down and shut you're mouth!"
Jon nodded as he took a seat around the fire as Craster continued to drink.
"You bring any of that good wine with you?"
"We did" said Mormont "We passed through six villages on the way here. All six abandoned. Where have the Wildlings gone?"
"I could tell you, but I'm thirsty"
"There's a barrel of Dornish wine on the sledge. Bring it here" said Mormont.
"Yes sir" said a Watchmen.
As they were talking, Jon was looking up into the rafters and saw Craster's daughters. Many at different ages, from pretty teens to old hags.
"You want to know where they've all gone. North! To join up with Mance Rayder" Craster stared at Mormont "You're old friend"
"He's no friend of mine" said Mormont "He broke his vows, betrayed his brothers"
"Oh aye" said Craster "But once he was just a poor black crow. And now he's King-Beyond-The-Wall"
"He's been calling himself that for years" said Mormont "What's he king of, some frozen lake somewhere?"
Craster just stayed silent as he stared across the room.
"That's a nice looking axe. Fresh forged?" he said as he eyed one of the Watchmen's axe.
"Give it here" said Mormont.
The Brother begrudgingly handed his axe to Mormont.
"You'll have another one made at Castle Black" said Mormont as he handed the Axe to Craster "Here"
"Oh that's some lovely steel" said Craster as he inspected the blade. He then suddenly brought the axe down on the wood infront of him. "You want to know what Mance Rayder is doing? Gathering up an army. From what I hear he's already got more men than any of you Southern kings"
"And where does he plan marching his army?" asked Mormont.
"When you're all the way North there's only one direction to go" said Craster. The answer was obvious indeed.
.
.
.
"These are bad times to be living alone in the wild" said Mormont "The cold winds are rising"
"Let them come, my roots are sunk deep" said Craster as he grabbed one of his wives, Gilly, who was pouring Mormont's mug "Wife, tell the Lord Crow how content we are"
"This is our place. Our husband keeps us safe. Better to live free than die a slave" said Gilly.
Craster nodded as Gilly walked away. "Don't it make you jealous old man? To see me with all these young wives and you with no one to warm your bed"
"We chose different paths" said Mormont.
"Oh aye and you chose the path with no one but boys" Craster laughed as he stood up "You'll be wanting to sleep beneath my roof, I suppose, and eat me out of pigs?"
"A roof would be welcome" said Mormont as he, Jon, and the others stood up "It's been hard riding. We brought our own food and good steel for you"
Craster nodded his head before turning it to Jon.
"Any man lays a hands on one of my wives, he loses the hand. And I see this one, (gestured towards Jon), staring too long, I might just gouged his eyes out"
"You're roof. You're rules" said Mormont.
"Ah, good" Craster smiled "You're a better listener than that last one"
Jeor looked at Craster, his eyes squinting in confusion "What last one?"
"Some stranger southerner cunt. Came to my home with several men and some-" he stared at Mormont "-not men. He came asking strange questions"
"What questions?" asked Jeor.
"Strange ones, can't remember. Nonsense most like. But he came with fifty strong soldiers. And he had these-" he shook his head "-strange hounds. Took five of my pigs. My pigs!"
Jeor stared at Craster before he exchanged looks with Jon. Jon was equally confused.
Mormont turned back to Craster "Were they Wildlings? Or... one of our lot?"
"Weren't no Wildling. Or a crow"
.
Tyrion was walking through Flea Bottom with Podrick and Girorn strolling behind him.
"Girorn, have your men been able to provide enough for the small folk?" asked Tyrion.
"Barely" said the Trandoshan as he eyed a mother squatting against a building holding a malnourished baby "The kingdom is made up of many. The forests only has so much food. Enough deer and boar and other meat for now. But it has to be well balanced. Kill too many, they stop breeding"
"If only the Tyrells hadn't joined up with Renly" said Tyrion "They provided the food for King's Landing, and now the trade for food has all but stopped"
"Starving prey is a cowardly tactic" said Girorn "Better to strike when strong. Good Jagannath Points earned"
Tyrion smiled in amusement "Maybe that's how you and the other Trandoshans think, but House Tyrell and Renly aren't Trandoshans, and from what I understand from you and you clan, the Scorekeeper and these Jagannath Points only apply to Trandoshans"
"Doesn't change how me and my people see things. To gain Jagannath Points is highest honor"
"And how to you lose Jagannath Points?"
"Shame, or capture. It is disgrace to Scorekeeper. Disgrace to Scorekeeper's servants. Disgrace to Trandoshans"
"...Have you or any of your clan ever lost your Points?"
"No. We earn our points. Or die with them"
"Yours is a harsh race Girorn" said Tyrion. "What do you're people do if they ever did lose the points they earned?"
"All fall into depression. All fall into self-exile. All quit earning for Scorekeeper."
"Hmm"
"...All but one"
"Oh. And he would be?"
"Qyzen Fess, our clan's founder"
Tyrion nodded his head as he memorized the name. "Qyzen Fess was on friendly terms with Jedi Knight during the Cold War era, many hundred years ago. Qyzen Fess was great hunter. Earned many Jagannath Points. But lost points when captured by Twi'lek Pilgrims. To lose that many points to a such a small race, was high disgrace. But when Qyzen Fess was freed, he followed Jedi against Twi'lek madmen and saw greatness in Jedi. Jedi was the Herald of the Scorekeeper"
"...Was this... Jedi, was he a Trandoshan?" asked Tyrion.
"No, was human. But Qyzen Fess saw it. Qyzen earned many new Jagannath Points under Herald. Herald was small yet powerful. Fought many powerful enemies, our founder never lost faith in Herald. Started clan so our kind do not forget our beliefs"
Tyrion was... fascinated how Girorn's clan saw things. Tyrion could point out holes in Girorn's story, but who was he to question the God of an entirely different species. Tyrion understood one thing though. Girorn and his clan saw the situations around them differently than Tyrion or Cersei or Joffrey or any human in King's Landing could grasp.
"What would this Qyzen Fess and his Herald do in our situation?" asked Tyrion.
"Crush Tyrells. Crush Renly"
"A simple answer" said Tyrion. "But we do not have the man power to do that. We can only spare so many men. We lost a hundred and fifty men when Ned Stark escaped with his liberators. With Stannis, Renly, Robb Stark, and the Brotherhood Without Banners around, it would be impossible to move an army against one without one taking advantage of King's Landing. Our only hope would be to ask for Dorne for help. And thanks to Gregor Clegane, that's impossible"
"I have heard of this, Mountain. Killed many warriors, but has earned tainted Jagannath Points"
"If your referring to when he killed Elia Martell and her children, I couldn't agree more" said Tyrion as he turned his head "You wouldn't know a way to get Dorne to help us Podrick?"
Podrick raised his head in surprise "N-no my lord" said Podrick "I, I wouldn't have the foggiest. I'm sorry my Lord"
"Ah, it's okay. I wasn't expecting an answer anyway. Just wanted to make sure you were paying attention" said Tyrion with a grin "I can only see an alliance happening if we send them the Mountain's head... or"
"Or?" asked Girorn.
"I marry Myrcella to House Martell" said Tyrion.
"The stupid woman won't like that idea" said Girorn.
"Well the 'stupid woman' will just have to swallow it. Despite having Boba and your clan, we're not invincible" said Tyrion "Although I do not like the idea either. I have heard many rumors about Oberyn Martell and his bastard daughters. A dangerous bunch"
"A puzzling matter indeed" said Girorn "But you are smart. Answers will come"
"Let's just hope there good ones" said Tyrion. Tyrion and his group stopped walking as they came upon a ring of people watching something.
"Pod, go find some Gold Cloaks"
"Yes my Lord" said Pod as he ran down the street. Tyrion and Girorn exchanged looks before pushing their way through the crowd. When they came upon the front of the crowd, they found they were all watching two men fighting over a loaf of bread as a dead woman with a wooden knife in her heart layed dead under them as a child, a girl, cried over her corpse.
"ENOUGH!" shouted Tyrion as he and Girorn made their way to the two men. All around them stopped when they spotted the two. The two men dropped the loaf as they eyed Girorn.
"Would someone explain the situation to me?!" said Tyrion firmly, Girorn dangerously hissing behind him.
All were silent except the girl who continued to cry.
"The situation is obvious Lord Tyrion" said Girorn "The bread is the woman's"
"And you two killed her" said Tyrion.
"AAARH!" shouted one of the men as he made a dash towards Tyrion only for Girorn to grab him around the neck, and smash him into the ground, breaking his neck in the process. The other man tried to make a break for it only for a random blast hitting him in the back of the head. Tyrion turned his head and saw Podrick returning with five Gold Cloaks and three Trandoshans, one's blaster hole smoking.
"Clear this crowd" said Tyrion.
The Gold Cloaks and Trandoshans started pushing away the people, most leaving out of fear of the reptilian giants.
"Girorn" said Tyrion.
"Aye" said Girorn as he walked over to one of his men.
[Move the woman's body somewhere respectable] said Girorn [Make sure the child is placed somewhere friendly]
[Yes chief] said the Trandoshan as he signaled the other two Trandoshans to help him.
"How can we protect the people if we can't protect them from themselves?" said Tyrion.
"We must restart the food trade" said Girorn "One way or another"
.
Catelyn, Gibbs, Marty, Cotton, Raghetti, Pintel, Anamaria, and Tia Dalma approached Renly's camp after much travel.
"I would rather I had gone alone Mister Gibbs" said Cat.
"Aye, but as someone who sits on your son's war council, I'd rather see this Renly character for myself" said Gibbs. "Plus Lord Robb wants your safety over an alliance with Renly of Stannis"
"... Mister Gibbs, do you think we could get Renly to join with us?"
"Hard to say Miss Stark. If we support Renly, then we look like traitors to the True Heir Stannis. But Renly has the stronger army. The only way this could end gently for us would be for the two to join each other as Orion says"
"Stannis is a fool and Renly is a child" said Tia Dalma as she joined the conversation.
Catelyn didn't know what to think of this dark skinned woman when she first met her. Her tone was exotic and loving, but her speech and patterns were bizarre. She seemed like one of the witches she was told when she and Lysa were children. But Gibbs and Sao Feng trusted her and Orion assured Robb that she was trustworthy.
"Aye, and what does one do with a fool and a child?" asked Gibbs.
"Smash their heads together and lock them in a room" said Catelyn bitterly "How two brothers could fight this much is beyond stupid"
"This isn't Robb Stark and one of his brothers" said Tia Dalma "This is a bitter man against a naive boy. They are too different to see eye to eye"
"Oi!" shouted Raghetti as he pointed ahead "Men on horses"
Four men rode towards them as Catelyn's group stopped advancing. As they riders got closer, Cat could see that the riders wore the sigil of House Baratheon, except the Stag's head was above a crowd of flowers.
"Oi, that's one gentle looking deer" said Raghetti.
"It's Renly's Sigil. It mirrors Renly's alliance with House Tyrell"
"Well I say House Tyrell must of bit the short end of the straw" said Pintel "All these Wolves and Lions and Krakens and they get flowers?"
"I wouldn't mention that to Renly's face" said Anamaria.
The four riders finally came upon the eight. "State yourself" said the apparent leader of the group.
"I am Catelyn Stark. I wish to speak with Lord Renly"
"That's King Renly now" said the rider's leaders.
"May we see him or not!" said Gibbs sternly.
"You may" said the leader "His Grace is currently enjoying a Tourney"
Catelyn and the Pearl Crew followed the riders as they came upon a large crowd of soldiers. The riders pushed their way to the front where Catelyn and the Pirates could get a good view of the spectacle. Loras Tyrell was fighting a warrior that stood nearly an entire head over him. Pass them and across from Catelyn sat Renly Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell. Renly was wearing glamorous armor that screamed summer. And Margaery was simply beautiful. Raghetti and Pintel already had their jaws dropped upon seeing her.
Catelyn continued to watch the duel before them. Ser Loras was a great fighter, being ranked up there with Jaime and Gregor Clegane. Although the same could be said about his opponent. Loras was able to knock his opponents shield away, but that didn't stop the warrior from pulling his sword up and swirling around Loras, hitting him in the back against his armor. Loras continued trying to strike down his opponent until his opponent swerved under his blade and wrapped his arms around Loras, lifted him up into the air and slammed him down onto the ground. The fighter lifted up Loras's visor and held a dagger to his face.
"Yield!' shouted Loras "I yield"
The fighter stared at Loras before eventually getting up. Many in the crowd apparently didn't like seeing Ser Loras defeated, including his sister Margaery. But Renly was clapping.
"Well fought! Approach"
The fighter took several steps towards Renly before kneeling before him.
"Rise" said Renly "Remove your helm"
The fighter stood up and started removing his helm. When he took of the head piece, many were surprise to see that it was a woman under the helm, her hair blonde and her face fierce.
"You're all your father promised and more my Lady" said Renly. "I've seen Ser Loras bested once or twice, but, never quite in that fashion"
"Now now my love, my brother fought valiantly for you" said Margaery.
"That he did my Queen" said Renly "But there can only be one champion. Brienne of Tarth, you may ask anything of me you desire. If it's within my power, it is yours"
The woman, Brienne, knelled before Renly again "Your Grace, I ask the honor of a place in your Kingsguard. I will be one of your seven, pledge my life to yours, and keep you safe from all harm"
.
.
.
"Done" said Renly. "Rise Brienne of the Kingsguard" When Renly started clapping, everyone followed suit.
Catelyn gave a look to her escort and he nodded before leading Catelyn forward. Gibbs nodded for the others to stay put.
"Your Grace" said the escort "I have the honor to bring you Lady Catelyn Stark, sent as an envoy by her son Robb, Lord of Winterfell"
"Lady Catelyn" said Renly "I'm pleased to see you. May I present my wife, Margaery of House Tyrell"
Margaery nodded to Catelyn, which she returned. "You are very welcome here Lady Stark. I'm so sorry for her loss"
"Lord Stark and his daughters aren't dead" said Gibbs.
"Mind your place" said Loras.
"It's alright Ser Loras" said Renly "It's no crime to point out good things in life"
"You are most kind" said Cat.
"My Lady" said Renly "I will see that the Lannisters answer for your family's losses. When I take King's Landing, I will bring you Joffrey's head"
The men around them all shouted in a victorious yell.
"It will be enough to know that justice was served, my Lord" said Cat.
"Your Grace" corrected Brienne "And you should kneel when you approach the King"
"There's no need for that" said Renly "Lady Stark is an honored guest"
Brienne nodded to her King.
"Has your son marched against Tywin Lannister yet?" asked Loras.
"I do not sit at my son's war councils" said Catelyn. "And if I did, I would not share his strategies with you"
"If Robb Stark wants a pact with us, he should come himself" said a grim looking man who had a Red Hunter Sigil on his breast "Not hide behind his mother's skirt"
"Mind your tongue you" said Gibbs.
"And who are you, to talk back to our King, his Queen, and their Lord followers"
"I'm Joshamee Gibbs" said Gibbs "Someone who has sat at Robb Stark's council and broke bread with all his officers. Robb Stark is someone who is at war, not playing one!"
"That's enough!" said Renly. At first he looked crossed as he rose up from his seat, but then smile and came down to Cat and Gibbs "Don't worry my Lady. Our war is just beginning" He turned to Gibbs "And I can respect a man who's brave enough to talk back to Randyll Tarly. No offense done Lord Gibbs"
"Mister Gibbs" said Gibbs.
"Mister Gibbs" smiled Renly. He then led Cat away down the camp, Gibbs and the crew following.
Renly, Cat, Brienne, and the Pirates kept walking through the camp, pasting many colorful men and their tents.
"Your Grace" said a man who came up to them with a horse.
"Gerald, how's your foot?" asked Renly.
"Better your Grace" said Gerald as he patted the horse. "They don't know their own size is all"
"Good man" said Renly as they continued walking on before turning to Cat "I have 100,000 men at my command. All the might of the Stormlands and the Reach"
"And are all of them young and bold like your knight of flowers? It's a game to you isn't it? I pity them"
"Why? asked Renly.
"Because it won't last" said Catelyn "They are the knights of summer and Winter is Coming"
"...Brienne" said Renly "Escort Lady Catelyn and her companions to her tent. She's tired from her journey"
"At once your Grace" said Brienne. "Shall I return after?"
"That won't be necessary" said Renly "I would pray awhile. Alone"
Renly then walked away as Brienne led them away.
"If you follow me my Lady" said Brienne.
"...You fought bravely today Lady Brienne" said Cat.
"I fought for my King. Soon I'll fight for him on the battlefield. Die for him if I must" Brienne stopped walking "And if it please you, Brienne's enough. I'm no lady" Brienne then walked away.
"A queer bunch this be" said Pintel.
"Couldn't agree more" said Marty.
"Aye" said Gibbs "Renly be a good lad, but he's not made to be a King. You're right Miss Stark. This is all a game to him. But there's a difference to playing a war and fighting a war"
"Wack! Renly's queer! Renly's queer" said Cotton's parrot.
"I'd keep that bird quiet Cotton, if was you" said Cat. Cotton nodded his head.
"Sometimes I don't get what that bird's saying" said Gibbs.
.
"Were moving too slow" said Ned as he and Aragorn stood besides each other watching Will and Peter teach some of the recruits how to use a sword.
"We can only travel so fast Ned" said Aragorn. "With the Ewoks, we have to travel in secrecy or risk alerting the Lannister army"
Ned looked up at the trees and watched as several Ewoks swung around by vines or sat atop the branches. The Ewoks distrusted leaving the forest for Ewoks were creatures of the forest and wary of anything outside their forests. According to Wicket through Threepio, many things have lurked away from the tree villages, such as giant creatures called a Gorax that carried Ewoks away pasts deserts to their fortresses to keep as food or pets. And on one occasion a group of creatures called 'Sanyassan Marauders' invaded their village once, killing many. And according to both the Ewoks and the Rebels, a large army was now stationed on their home, cutting down hundreds of trees and have killed many Ewoks. Ned could understand why the Ewoks were always so cautious. Stranded in a foreign land was difficult for the little things. It was only C-3PO's mascaraed as this 'Golden One' that kept the Ewoks at calm.
"Do you think it possible for us to travel ahead at our own pace?" asked Ned.
"And leave the Ewoks alone?" said Aragorn "No, the creatures would most likely wonder towards a Lannister party. And the trouble is that only Threepio can understand them. And the plain truth is that although we head further North across the Riverlands, your son doesn't stay in one place long. News has already spread that he won another battle with his army. And although we travel with Yoren and his recruits, our destinations are not the same"
"Aye" said Ned "He is to head towards the Wall"
"Yoren was to take your daughter to Winterfell, but now that we have located Arya ourselves that option isn't our only one" said Aragorn. "If we did by chance stumble upon Robb's army, would you allow her to remain with us? Or would you let Yoren to take her to Winterfell himself?"
.
.
.
"I do not wish for Arya to be a part of the Game of Thrones any longer" said Eddard "But I must admit, I do not feel comfortable allowing Arya to return to Winterfell in this company" Ned eyed Rorge, Biter, and Jaqen H'ghar in the cages. Both Rorge and Biter sat against the bars of their cage, both of their arms broken and their faces beaten to the point of being unrecognizable, courtesy of Chewbacca. Jaqen however remained unscratched, wise enough not to upset the Wookiee or any of the others.
"You have no reason to fear Ned" said Aragorn "Yoren can keep the men and line and the only ones that would be of troubled have been tamed by Chewbacca. Besides, Arya has friends among the recruits" Aragorn eyed as Hot Pie and Sam were sitting by a fire talking about food most likely as Lommy sat next to them, nodding off and on. And Gendry was polishing his bull's head helmet as Arya was talking with him.
"Aye, but it is a long road to Winterfell and there are many dangers in between"
"... Then might I suggest that until our situation is favorable, we leave her at Riverrun with your wife's father, Hoster Tully was it?"
Ned sighed "I'm afraid that might be our only option"
"And I think it's time for our group to split"
Eddard eyed Aragorn "I thought you were against the Ewoks being separated from our group"
"That isn't what I meant" said Aragorn "I think it's time for Aslan's chosen warriors to split up for now"
.
And after a little bit over a year, chapter 34 is done. Again, I'm sorry that I took so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so long. But now it's time to get back on track.
If you read and/or watched the Narnia series, then your quick to note that there are no creatures called Rowras in Narnia. But with human-headed bulls, one footed dwarves, and Marsh-Wiggles, I think tiger-centaurs could fit in well with Narnia. That and I like tigers.
Also the first appearance of Jon, Renly, Margaery, and Loras. Sweet.
And on a final note, I asked this question before in a previous chapter. The Nazguls are now in Westeros. Should they stumble upon Robb's group or on Ned's group. The final decision isn't gonna be how many vote for one scenario, but upon what people suggest should happen. Hell you could even give suggestions for both. Just comment how you feel.
