Alfred Gresham was born in 1911 in Weatherfield. His lordly family were natives of Weatherfield before they left it in summer 1960 by the time the whole Corrie soap show had even begun.
Alfie was the typical kind of confused turd seen in aristocracy circles. He wasn't lucky in love, but married his least favourite girlfriend, the plump, light brown skinned Flora Vel Karamazov, daughter of Sylvia Vel and Mergen Karamazov.
Sonia didn't like him either, so she made sex on her best friend ever, Hugo Marick, who was an old money businessman of Sorbian background. They then bore him Edmund Gresham, aka Edmund Grey, viscount Weatherfield, on October 23 1957. Nonetheless, Alfie really liked his stepson and he happily raised him with some difficulty as a result.
He saw luckier things in life later on. He then divorced Sonia Gresham and then became single for the rest of his life.
