A/N: I actually have no clue as to how ghostblossom even started. Pairing a ghost with a flower is kind of odd, and they don't really speak to eachother in game. But it's safe to assume they became good friends post-game, due to the ending. But hey, It's a cute ship. I (kinda) like it. Anyways, who's ready to projectile vomit everywhere? All jokes aside, enjoy reading this garbage.

Chapter 1: Vacation

The darkened sky of the night seemed to shine as Specter "stared" out the window. Despite having a single empty circle for an eye, he could still see well due to the eyes that his hands had. One of Specter's favorite activity was to press his palms against the window at night and take in the scenery. Most of the time, he did this out of complete boredom. Sometimes he'd use it as a way to calm down after a stressful night. On very rare occasion would he do this for any other reason.

But tonight was that rare night. He wasn't bored, nor did he have a bad day. Specter was just simply happy.

Getting a vacation in the Phantom Express was just about as rare as having a false physical power. (Shameless self plug in) But here he was. Just a day away from a week full of relaxation. But that wasn't the reason Specter was so happy. He wasn't planning on spending the week treating himself. He had other plans.

Specter smiled at the thought of being able to roam around freely without T-bone dragging him back into the train. Never in a million years would he have even consider asking The Phantom Express for a vacation. Yet he gave it to him, anyways.

Specter removed his hands from the window and looked at his small alarm clock. It was nearing midnight. That meant it was almost officially his vacation time. Even though he was a ghost, Specter enjoyed sleeping. It was like escaping into another dimension for him. It also passed time. Seeing as it was late and the best week of his afterlife would be coming up, he decided to enter that other dimension for the last time. He'd be spending the rest of his nights somewhere else for awhile.

So he flopped down on his somewhat small bed, ready to enter the new world his non-existent mind was gonna take him.

Specter flew out the caboose with a huge grin plastered on his face. T-bone was already awake and waiting for him. Specter had already told him where he wanted to spend his vacation, and sure enough, they were there.

"Morning." T-bone greeted with a monotone voice.

"Morning!" Specter greeted back with much more enthusiasm. He watched as T-bone opened the doors(?) of the train. Specter had specifically asked if he could leave as soon as he possibly could, and was told it wouldn't be a problem. And of course, the soonest possible time to leave would be right as he woke up.

"Have fun." T-bone muttered. Specter could barely hear him, though. The train station was far too busy to hear anyone at least three feet away from you. Many of the folks who boarded the train had told him about how calm and quiet Inkwell Isle 1 was compared to the other isles. But it seemed to be just as busy as the other train stations he went to.

Specter began wandering around for a bit. Never before had he seen so many different people bunched together. That's the best part of the first isle. Although many of the folks there had been born in the isle, majority of them came from the other isles. Inkwell Isle 2 was always lively and could sometimes be some-what chaotic. Inkwell 3 was overcrowded and some people weren't cut out for city life. So you'd always find people you'd normally see at those isles. Alongside those who originated in the peaceful isle, the population had a variety of people. (Wanna see how many times I can say 'people' and 'isle' in a paragraph?)

Although the train station was normally bare and slow moving, today it just about as crowded as the train station from Inkwell Isle 3. If he wasn't a ghost, Specter would have a hard time navigating through the crowd.

But Specter was... well... a specter! So it wasn't hard to pass everyone. Once he left the train station, the first thing he did was look for a garden. A specific garden. Cagney's garden.

Cagney is a very close friend of Specter. He'd come across the ghost when he went to Inkwell Isle 3 to visit Rumor Honeybottoms for a meeting. They talked with eachother for a bit and ended up becoming good friends. Every time Specter stopped at the first isle, he would sneak off the train, talk to Cagney, then get dragged back to the train by T-bone. It was a fun process, and now he could actually enjoy his time with Cagney instead of being on edge the entire time.

Specter really enjoyed his time with Cagney, even if it was just talking about gardening and such. But there was only one thing that Specter disliked about his visits. Every time he went there, Specter would feel strange. He felt attached to the carnation. Attached to the point where he'd dread leaving Cagney. Attached to the point of dreading the rest of the day after leaving Cagney. It bothered Specter a lot. T-bone called it stupid. The Phantom Express called it friendship. But the Blaze Brothers called it...young love.

Specter found their reasoning to be stupid. Ghosts couldn't feel emotions like that...

...right?

Specter finally made it to the garden. It was far away from the train station, even for him! An average person would have to walk 30 minutes just to get to the garden. It took Specter 17.

As he approached the garden, Specter spotted Cagney planting some regular flowers. This wasn't uncommon, but he looked much happier than usual. Specter floated up to him and smiled.

"Hi Cagney!" The carnation jumped a little when he heard Specter shout his name. But Cagney smiled when he saw him.

"Hey! You're pretty early. What's the occasion?" Cagney asked.

"Guess who got a week off of work?" Specter pointed at himself.

Cagney stared at him for a few moments before pointing up. "That bird up there?"

Specter burst out into laughter and Cagney joined in, too. "Okay, that was a good one! But I actually did get a week off."

"How? Did you bribe your boss or something?"

"Nah, I just asked."

"Really?"

"Believe me, I was shocked, too."

Cagney smiled. "Well you shouldn't waste your week with me. Hilda showed me a good hotel not too far from here you can stay at!"

But what if I wanna waste my week with you?

"That sounds good! Where is it?" Specter smiled a little bit. That weird feeling was coming back.

"It's around the isle outskirts. I could lead you there, if you want."

"I'd like that."

Specter looked up at the large hotel. It wasn't as tall as the ones you'd come across in the third isle, but it definitely wasn't small. "4.5 stars. The best one in the isle." Cagney turned to him. "Not to mention how cheap it is."

"It looks nice! Hilda surely has a taste for hotels!" That was a genuine compliment. The hotel did look nice. But Specter would've rather stayed at Cagney's.

"I should probably get going." Cagney sighed.

Specter turned to him with a disappointing look on his face. "Why are you leaving?"

"Winter's almost here, I need to finish preparing the garden." Specter had completely forgot that winter was only a few days away.

"Ohhh, I see. Can we maybe hang out tomorrow?" Specter forced a smile. He was understanding of Cagney's situation, but the attachment was really bothering Specter.

"Sure! That'll work. Maybe I could come later, if I finish early."

Specter's forced smile turned into a real smile. "That would be great!"

"See ya later, Specs!"

"Byee!"

Specter waited until Cagney was out of his view. Then he popped out one of his eyes and sent it towards Cagney's garden.

"See ya soon..."

(Wow that some-how ended up worse then the old fic. I hope you didn't have to clean vomit off your carpet or something. That was awful. I rushed a lot at the end and the formatting kinda sucks. It's repetitive and boring... it honestly just sucks in general. But thanks for reading anyways. Will I continue this? I dunmo probably. But I'm just gonna head out now. Cya!)
