Hey! This is my second ever story.
I have always felt that Kyoka Jirou has been a pretty underrated character in MHA, so this is a story about an OC who is pretty close to her so as to keep her in the centre of the story.
All rights to characters go to Horikoshi-sensei.

I am here. I am finally here. The UA entrance exams. The only other person from my middle school to apply for it. The other one was sitting beside me, her purple hair glistening, Jirou Kyoka. Mic had just finished announcing the rules. Some random guy had asked a question. And now, we were to go to the exam site. Jirou turned to me and pumped her fists in front of her and said, "I hope both of us get in. Right, Michio?"

I gave her a little smile and nodded. To be honest, I was feeling a little nauseated. What if I didn't get into UA? What then? Will have to move to Shiketsu? I waved goodbye to Jirou and went on my way to Site E.

The site was massive! The tall walls did not help much in easing my nausea. Ugh, what do I do? Some blond guy was raring to go. I even missed Present Mic's first few words, "... RUN! The die is cast!" Everyone in my group started moving. I didn't encounter any robot for a while, but I could hear some explosions going off nearby. I turned a corner and a two-pointer burst through a wall just beside me. I managed to avoid the debris flying at me. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts and ran towards it, jumping mid-way and shrinking. I went inside the robot and quickly changed back to normal size. The robot dismantled and stopped working. Phew, first two points down.

Name: Michio Takeda
Quirk: Sizing
He can change the size of his body at will.

A flurry of events enfolded after that first kill. I had amassed about forty points. All of them had come by the same manoeuver as the first one. It was easy shrinking down. I just couldn't increase in size, even a little, for long before passing out. Forty points seemed good enough to me. But, I was pretty sure the blonde guy had more. He was moving around everywhere. He had even stole my kills a few times. I barely escaped those times. I was just about to reach a three-pointer when everything started shaking. Earthquakes are common in Japan, but they weren't as common here in UA. It was surprising. Everyone had stopped in their tracks. Suddenly, the ground cracked and tore up before me. The paved road tore into pieces and they flew everywhere. I saw someone close-by turn their backs to the flying stone that was flying towards her. Something made my legs move, scared as I was. I grew in size up to four metres and punched the rock out of the way. I made my way up to the monster-sized robot that was before me. It was really big. Bigger than I currently was. I got taller in response. Finally, I came level to the robot when I was ten-metres tall. I passed out.

I finally woke up with the Recovery Girl looming over me. The writing part was easier than I had thought. I had it finished half an hour before the deadline. I submitted the paper and went outside, waiting for Jirou to come back. We lived close by so we had decided to go back home together. It wasn't a long wait, since she got out ten minutes before the time limit. Her earphone jacks bounced around as she hurried towards me with a big smile on her face. Clearly excited, she asked, "How'd it go? How'd it go? How'd it go?"

I dramatically lifted my hand and placed it on her shoulder, "It went swimmingly."

Jirou gave me a deadpan look, "You're back at saying that again, huh?"

I stroked my chin with the other hand, "Yuuuuuuuup. Anyway, how many points did you score?" We started walking towards the bus-stop.

She switched to her smile again, "I got 27! How many did you get?"

I said, "You lose this time. I got 41."

We got on a bus and took a seat each somewhere in the middle. Jirou sighed, "Aww, seriously? How many times do I have to tell you? We aren't rivals." If we aren't rivals, then why does my mom always compare us? She always says that best friends make for the best rivals. It has always been Jirou this and Jirou that. I had always assumed that we were rivals, and it had always been pretty close, too. She continued, "Also, Michio, with 41 points, I definitely think you'll pass. I'm just a little worried about myself."

I wanted to ease her worries since she always did that with me, so I said, "It's all good. There were a lot of people who didn't even get into the twenties. You'll be fine. I just hope that we'll be in the same class. It's be good to have a familiar face around."

That seemed to have the desired effect. And I even meant it. The colour around her cheeks deepened a bit or maybe it was just a weird reflection of the sunlight. She extended one of her earphone jacks and poked it on the side of my neck like she always did. We spent the rest of the trip discussing the writing section. I got off at a stop. Jirou will be continuing to the next one.

I was greeted by my mom at home with a fancy dinner made of stuff that I really liked. It was a fun day, a liberating one in fact after all that studying. Getting into UA was a tough thing to do, at least for the hero course. I didn't know much about the other courses.

Soon, the week passed and I started to get anxious. When will the mail come? Will I have passed. I did discuss it with my mom everyday and even with Jirou. Both of them tried to calm me down. But it was all in vain. I was getting more and more stressed out. More and more nauseated. Until finally, it arrived. I closed the door of my room and asked my mom to let me check it by myself first. She agreed. Inside the envelope was a holographic device which activated when I touched the top. Something projected out of it.

It was Midnight, a teacher at UA and the subject of many of my fantasies. I had bust a nut to her more times than any other person. She started off by saying that we weren't graded just on our takedown points. Helping points were also included. I had ended up with a total of 64 points and was the 5th best performance. I had been selected for class 1-A and I was to start in spring. She ended with a little bit of a tease and a wink. I didn't move for a while and then finally, broke the news to my parents. Then Jirou, who had gotten in, too, at 10th place. We were going to be in the same class. Finally, I broke the news to my junior-high teachers. They were really excited that our school would have two students in UA. It was a really happy time for them.

The weeks passed by quickly and I was finally ready for my first day at UA.

Thank you for reading till here. I'll be adding a poll in my profile to decide who else to pair with Michio. Michio and Jirou is confirmed. This may turn into something bigger, so I'll keep you updated about future pairings.
Also, please tell me about any mistakes I made, factual or grammatical.

-Peace.
