Rosy
Hello! This is a Sonic SatAM episode idea on how it would've been like if Rosy the Rascal (AKA Amy Rose) had been introduced in the series! She's originally Tails' age (like in Sonic CD and previous games to Adventure) and I think she would've been likely paired up with him. Enjoy the fic and tell me your thoughts! R&R-
It was a beautiful day in Knothole Village, the sun was shining and the fluffy clouds were spread throughout the sky scarcely. Bunnie was making some pancakes for the group, having invited everyone over for breakfast. Little Tails was already there, helping set the table as the half-roboticized rabbit cooked.
"Ah'm sure they won't be long, sugar" Bunnie asked, glancing back, seeing the young fox look outside the window, tiptoeing as he stared at the people walking there. "I don't see Sonic" he said softly, "Nor Aunt Sally" he frowned. "Well, ah bet they surely are on their way. Ah saw Rotor this mornin', he was working on something new. Ah haven't seen Antoine since yesterday afternoon though" the southern rabbit commented. Tails tilted his head, he saw a raccoon and a cat holding hands, sitting down on a bench beneath a tree. Another couple went by, a dog offering flowers to a lynx. Tails hadn't seen a lot of couples at once before.
"Is it Valentine's Day today?" He asked confused, to which Bunnie raised her brows, and checked the calendar on the fridge, "No, sugar. Why you ask?" She questioned, lifting a pancake midair as she continued to cook. "There's a bunch of couples outside" he blinked. "Are there? Maybe they just wanted to be out today, on a date" she thought of an easy explanation. Tails walked back to the table, sitting down on a chair as he traced an imaginary smiley face and flower on the wood of the surface, "Have you gone on a date before, Aunt Bunnie?" Tails asked curiously, to which Bunnie giggled. "Sure ah have, sugarfox! But it's been a while" she smiled, placing the pancakes on a plate, motioning for the two-tailed fox to start eating. "I never have" Tails frowned, taking a pancake and starting to eat it, "Ah am sure you will someday, no need to be sad" the older rabbit gently pinched his cheek, trying to get Tails to smile. He smiled a little but not much, he felt a little lonely. There were no kids his age in Knothole, and he was barely ever allowed to go out on missions. His only friends were the Freedom Fighters, and while Tails loved them, they didn't understand what Tails felt being left behind or being his age. How would he even get a date if he didn't knew or like someone like that to begin with?. "Thanks Aunt Bunnie, I will go outside now" the fox cub said softly, going to the dishwasher and cleaning his plate, "Oh—Where you goin'?" She asked, seeing him a little upset.
Tails was about to answer when Sonic, Sally and Rotor opened the door, "Sorry we're late! Sonic and Sally were helping me test a new machine!" The walrus explained, then looked at Tails, who squirmed his way between them to go out the door, "Hi everyone! See you later!" The two-tailed fox waved, and flew away. "What was that?" Sonic asked, to which Bunnie shrugged, "Ah don't know, he said he was going outside"
Tails frowned, kicking a small rock on his way. "Why aren't there more kids my age?" He said, sighing, flopping down next to a lake, falling on the grass and grabbing a stick, drawing on the ground. He was too focused on his drawing that he didn't see the person behind him, who peeked at his doodle. "That's a nice drawing" he heard a soft, yet high pitched voice say. He screamed, startled, the one with the new voice falling back to the ground, covering her mouth with her gloves hand. It was a girl, a young pink hedgehog. Tails blinked, gasping. "Sorry! I didn't mean to scream, I—" he apologized, the girl quickly running away as she soon as got up.
"Wait!" The two-tailed cub about to follow her when Sonic came in, holding him back by the wrist. "Woah, big guy, what's the deal? Are you okay?" He asked, checking to see if Tails was alright. "Sonic, I saw a girl! She was a hedgehog like you! But.. pink!" He announced, waving his hands, to which Sonic raised his eyebrow, "A girl hedgehog? But we don't have any here in Knothole! C'mon Tails, let's go back, it could be a trap from Robotnik" he reasoned, Tails pouting as they left the area, extending his hand out.
Later that day, the fox decided to go out again, following the same route he had taken in the morning. He hoped to find the pink hedgehog again, and if he did, this time he wouldn't mess it up. He waited, and waited. It was starting to get dark, and he was kind of sleepy, surely Sonic and the others would start to worry about him if he didn't go back soon. Right as he was about to, he heard a few quiet steps. Hiding behind the bushes surrounding the lake, he observed. There, at last, was the pink hedgehog! Tails looked at her more carefully, she sported an orange frilly skirt, purple shoes and a green shirt. She also had a red ribbon around her head, mimicking a headband. Tails quietly gasped, she was really pretty! He shook his head, he wanted to say hi! But after his earlier mistake, he wasn't too sure how to approach.
The pink hedgehog kneeled in front of the lake, taking the flowers she held and throwing them to the water, "Please, if you will, send me a friend, oh magic lake! You know how I've been by myself all this time" she pleaded, clasping her hands together. Tails observed her, still hiding m. Was the lake magical? The fox blinked, he had an idea. "Yes, your new friend is on his way!" He replied, trying to fake a deeper voice, which the girl gasped at, looking around in expectancy.
Tails slowly peeked out the bushes, it was his chance. "Uh, hello!" He greeted softly, making the girl gasp. It was the fox boy from that morning, "Hello" she said softly, approaching him, "Were you summoned by my wish?" She asked, she had a full-on surprised look to her face. "Um, yeah! Would you like to be friends?" He smiled, stretching his hand out, a gesture that the girl complied to, "I can't believe that worked! I've been practicing my magic for a while and this is the first time that it works!" She said excitedly, shaking his hand, "I'm Rosy! What's your name?" She said softly, a huge smile on her face. "M-Miles! But everyone knows me as Tails!" He said sheepishly, shyly letting go of Rosy's hand. "Tails?" She tilted her head, bringing her index finger to her cheek, seeing Tails point at his unique mutation. Rosy gasped, cupping her cheeks, "Woah!" She leaned forward, Tails shyed away, blushing as a pretty girl was that close to him. "I can also fly with them" he said, rubbing the back of his head, "Really?! Show me!" The young hedgehog jumped in excitement, Tails nodded, starting to twirl his tails and propelling himself up, doing a few tricks midair. Rosy couldn't believe her eyes, "You really are magical! No wonder it worked this time" she smiled sweetly.
"Where are you from, Rosy?" Tails questioned softly, wanting to get to know her more, "M-muh... uh... mmm... Mercia!" She stuttered, hoping she'd gotten the name right. "Mercia? I've never heard of it before... Where are your parents?" He asked. Rosy frowned, looking down as she started to tear up, "Rosy? Why are you crying?" Tails asked concerned, "They were—-" she sobs, Tails understanding, rubbing his arm as he feels bad for asking. At least he can relate. "That happened to me too" he says, looking sad as he remembered he was actually an orphan, and he didn't like seeing Rosy cry. "But Sonic helped me and now I have new friends and family! I can take you with them if you want!" He smiled sadly, wanting to give Rosy hope. "You... you can? Who's Sonic?" She sniffles, rubbing her eyes, wiping her tears away, "I'll take you there! You'll be fine, I promise" he cheered up a little, grinning as he took her hand and led her back to Knothole.
