A few days after the Flugel and Phantasma joined the Elchea Federation, Sora and the others went to the home of the Ex-machina.
"So, these are the Ex-machina," said Sora as he walked past human like creatures with robotic body parts.
"Their technology is even more advanced than ours," said Izuna. A little boy with red and blue robot arms and legs then walked up to them.
"Do you need help?" asked the boy.
"Yeah, we're looking for the ruler of the Ex-machina we are here to challenge her," said Sora. This caused all the Ex-machina to stop what they had been doing and turn to look at them.
"Queen is this way," said the boy as he led them up a road to the castle.
"So, what's your name?" asked Steph.
"I am product number 104027, names do not exist for us Ex-machina as they do for the rest of the races," said the boy without looking at them.
"That's just boring, mind if I call you Tix?" asked Sora.
"That is alright with me," said the boy as a smile grew on his face. When they reached the castle, Tix led them to the throne room, where they met an Ex-machina woman with only one half of her face being humanoid and the rest of her body was robotic.
"Queen, you have some guests," said Tix.
"I am already aware, Tix," said Queen.
"So, the Ex-Machina do have a hive mind," said Sora.
"That's correct, now what kind of game do you have in mind?" asked Queen as she stood up from her throne.
"A game of chance," said Sora as he took some cards out of his pocket.
"In this deck there is only one Jack card, the one who draws it wins," said Sora as he shuffled the cards.
"And what does the winner get?" asked Queen.
"If you win, you get to experiment on Jibril," said Sora with no emotion.
"Why me?!" asked a worried Jibril.
"Because they would probably love to experiment on you," said Sora with a smile that sent a chill down her spine.
"Very well, I accept," said Queen as a servant walked out with a table.
"I haven't said what we get when we win," said Sora.
"You want us Ex-machina to join your Elchea Federation like all the other races you have faced, right?" asked Queen.
"Have you been spying on us?" asked Sora.
"Maybe, but anyway I will accept your terms, but you should know that you only have a chance of 0.001% of getting the Jack," said Queen.
"We'll see," said Sora as he drew a card, which was the eight of diamonds. Several minutes later, they were down to the last two cards.
"By my calculations, I have a 99.99% chance of winning," said Queen as she drew a card, but was shocked to see the Queen of Hearts.
"Looks like you can't rely on the computing skills as much as we Imanity can on luck," said Sora as he drew the last card, which was the Jack.
"How is it possible that Queen's calculations were off?" asked Tix who was stunned by this turn of events.
"Because she thought the number of cards were lower and never kept track as we went, you see, I put in an extra King and Queen for each Jack removed," said Sora.
"That's cheating!" said Tix with anger on his face.
"No it's not, he only said that the deck had one Jack, he never said that the deck had fewer cards so he never lied," said Queen.
"And since you believed your calculations, you lost the second you drew the first card, never take something at face value," said Sora.
"You Imanity, you can even fool someone as powerful in thought as us Ex-machina, I believe what you just said is true," said Queen with a smile.
"By the way, it was a good plan of yours, Shiro," said Sora with a thumbs up.
"It was nothing," said Shiro as she returned the thumbs up.
"These two look just like those two from all those years ago," thought Queen as she looked at them.
