Title: The Hydro Carbon Alchemist
It was four years ago when it happened, that is when Klein's sister died. They were on their way to town and decided to play in the forest. "Klein catch me if you can!" A little girl said with enthusiasm. She started to run further into the forest when Klein ran after her. "Maria hold on, don't go running off on you own!" Klein replied as he was running after Maria. Klein ran after her and lost her in a grove of trees. That's when he heard her laughing and started to go towards the laughter. As he rounded a big tree Klein saw her sitting in an opening in the trees. She was playing with a little fox kit. When Klein walked up to Maria he saw that she had a red ball. There was a transmutation circle to his right and suspected that's how she got the ball.
Maria was only two years younger than Klein but she was also a natural at alchemy. She was a prodigy of the family and Klein could only wish good things would come for his sister. "Maria we have to get to town and give mother the equipment that she needs. You know mother doesn't like us being late." Klein said in a concerned tone. "Oh big brother you worry to much." Maria replied with a giggle. "Yeah of course I worry, you're not the one that is going to be in trouble for us being out this late." Klein said in a worried tone. "Okay fine you win. Bye little fox." Maria said with a smile on her face. They both turned around and started to walk back to the road when a shadow fell upon their path. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A female voice was heard in the clearing. Klein and Maria looked up at the person that was blocking their path. The person blocking their path was a woman with pale skin, long wavy black hair, red eyes, black dress, black high heels, black gloves, and crimson red lipstick. "Who are you and what do you want?" Klein asked with a defensive tone. He stepped in front of Mia with his arm out in a protective manner. "Oh and why would I tell you?" The mysterious woman replied. Klein stood there for a second more and then grabbed Marias hand. They started to run to their right for the woods. But they only got a few feet when Klein felt something made him trip and fall pulling his sister with him. He felt the pain before he saw what had happened. His left leg felt like it was on fire and he could feel the blood that was seeping out of the wound in his leg. Maria gasped and Klein looked down to see something black still sticking out of his leg. He fallowed where it lead and to his horror it led strait to the woman in black. "Big brother, are you okay?" Maria asked with concern. "Maria run! Save yourself and get help!" Klein yelled to his sister in a commanding tone. "But…" She trailed off. "Now go!" Klein yelled again. Maria started to get up and run when all of a sudden. Like slow motion Klein looked past his sister and saw what looked like the womans' fingers grow longer. They where headed strait for his sister, to his dismay. The womans' fingers grew at blinding speed and all Klein could do was try to warn and crawl to his sister. When he finally got to his sister all he could see was blood and two holes that ran through his sisters chest. "Klein?" Maria asked with hazy eyes and blood trickling down from her mouth. Klein grabbed her had and propped her head up. "Don't speak, save your strength." Klein replied in a sad whisper with tears threating to fall.
But it was too late and Maria let out her finale breath. Her eyes became dull and distant. The hand that was in his fell to the earth to never rise again. This sent Klein over the edge and the tears that he was holding back started to fall onto Marias still face. "Why? Why would you do this?" Klein yelled out to the offending person at the edge of the clearing. There was no reply to be heard, the woman that was there was nowhere to be scene. With no answers to his questions all Klein could do was hold his sister tight and cry as it started to rain.
Klein carried his dead sister back to their familys' house.
