Rain. That's the first thing that Santana noticed when she opened her curtains that gloomy Friday morning. She hated the rain, with a passion, she had always hated the rain. Especially when it was so heavy that the raindrops seemed to bounce off of every single surface that they touched, just like it was that day. Santana couldn't help but think that the weather was somewhat fitting to her current mood, what with the week that she had had.

Of course, it wasn't all bad. There was a certain blonde haired girl that had helped make everything a little bit easier, especially last night when Santana had woken her up just to talk about Brittany. After saying her goodbyes to Dani last night, sleep had come much easier than she thought it would. Santana had been expecting a repeat of the week before; very little sleep and a hell of a lot of tears.

However, Santana had felt strangely at ease, Dani's words had run around her head last night, followed by thoughts of the girl next door.

When Santana thought about Dani that morning, a smile involuntarily made it's way on to her face. It was almost as if her body was making decisions and working off of it's own accord, rather than listening to her conscious mind.

She turned away from her window and headed towards the bathroom, showering as quickly as she could, only so that she could spend more time on her hair and make-up. Not that it mattered; she knew that by the end of the day they would both be ruined thanks to the weather. She couldn't say why, but that day she had felt the sudden need to go out and impress... someone. She knew the best way to do that was to spend longer than necessary on her appearance. The only problem was that she didn't know who she needed to, or more so wanted to, impress. And that annoyed Santana beyond belief.

She checked herself in the mirror from multiple different angels each step of her getting ready. First she did her hair, checking that it framed her face just how she wanted it to. When she was pleased with how it looked, she moved onto her make-up, checking her face from as many different angels as she could. Once she was happy with that, she moved onto actually finding something to wear. She pulled on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, checking how they made her legs and butt look. Then she pulled on a v-neck long sleeved t-shirt. once again, checking that it made her 'assets' look good.

When she was fully happy with how she looked, she all but ran down the stairs and headed straight into the kitchen for her usual morning cup of coffee.

She saw her mother standing with her back facing the door, she decided to enter the kitchen as silently as she could, sitting down at the breakfast bar, waiting for her mother to turn around. When she saw her mom move, and turn slightly, Santana said "Morning mami!"

When Maribel heard Santana's voice, she turned on her heel quickly, facing her daughter. She clamped a hand over her chest, "Mija." She said in a slightly breathless tone, "You startled me."

"Sorry." Santana said with a small shrug.

Her mom let out a heavy sigh before pouring some cream into her cup of coffee, "That's okay, just don't sneak up on me again." She said smiling slightly. She tilted her head to the side and studied Santana slightly. "You look very nice today." She said.

"Don't I always?" Santana asked sarcastically.

Her mom rolled her eyes slightly, "Yes you do. But I am just saying that today, you look extra beautiful." She explained, "So, what's the special occasion?"

Santana furrowed her eyebrows, "There's no occasion." She said, "I'm just going to school, like usual." She said.

"Okay…" Her mom said not quite believing her daughter. She brought her cup to her mouth and took a sip of her coffee before saying, "Be careful on the roads today, they'll be pretty bad." She warned. "And the rain is pretty heavy, don't do anything stupid."

Santana shook her head, "I'm not driving to school today, and I'm getting a lift with Dani." She informed her mom.

"Dani?" She asked, quirking her eyebrow slightly. Santana nodded her head, "Next door, Dani?" Again, Santana's reply was a nod. "Oh… I see." She said, giving her daughter a knowing look.

"What's that look?" Santana asked.

"It's nothing, it's just Dani is a very pretty girl..." more than that! Santana quickly shook the thought from her head.

"No."

"What you don't think she is?"

Hell yeah I do! Santana shook her head slowly, "No, she is, but we're just friends." She said, "So we will have less of all that, thank you." She said pointing at her mother.

Maribel put her hands up feigning innocence, "It was just an observation, mija, don't get stressed about it."

Santana shrugged, "I'm not." She said. "Anyway, I'm gonna have a quick coffee and get going." Santana said quietly.

Maribel nodded her head and took a sip of her coffee before saying, "Yeah. You don't wanna keep Dani waiting too long."

Santana glared at her mother playfully, before standing up to make herself a cup of coffee.

oOoOo

"Wow." Santana said as she walked closer to the shorter girl, "Looking rough today, tiny." She chimed.

Dani opened her mouth to say something, which Santana was sure would be along the lines of 'I'm not that small.' however, she closed her mouth quickly

Honestly, Santana didn't think that Dani looked bad, she didn't think that in the slightest, she thought that Dani looked amazing, as per usual. Once again, Dani had her red beanie hat pulled over her blonde hair. She was wearing a pair of ripped, light blue skinny jeans, accompanied with her usual leather jacket, a pair of fingerless gloves and some black Dr Marten boots.

"Thank you." Dani replied sarcastically, deciding it was best to ignore one of her many nicknames, the more Santana knew it bothered her, the more she would call her it. "Do you like my bags?" She asked pointing to the circles under her eyes that were a slight shade of purple.

"Yes. They're lovely." She joked with a nod.

"They're Prada." Dani said shrugging slightly.

"Must be why they look so good." Santana said.

Dani smiled before she climbed into her car, Santana rushed around to the passenger side and climbed in to get away from the pouring rain. "So are you feeling any better this morning?"

Santana nodded her head, "Yeah. Thanks again." She said, "Last night I had a minor relapse." Santana admitted, "Which now I feel like such an idiot for." She admitted with a small chuckle. "I honestly just thought that I was a drunk dial. She hadn't cared all day and then she called me. But like I said, I'm an idiot."

"You're not an idiot." Dani said shaking her head, "When my ex dumped me, I had a lot of relapses." She admitted, "Like, tons." She said, "Which is totally fine." She said. "Oh and about her not being in touch with you. Did you get in touch with her yesterday? Because if not then you're no better." Dani said, "I didn't wanna bring it up last night when you were sad, but I was thinking it."

Santana nodded her head, "I did, I sent her a text and I got nothing." She admitted.

"Oh."

"Exactly." Santana said.

"Maybe she didn't get it?" Dani shrugged, "Text messages and phones can be very temperamental."

Santana sighed, "Stop being diplomatic for like five seconds." She said, "You're supposed to be on my side in this."

Dani rolled her eyes, "Oh my god. What a bitch she is." Dani said, she tilted her head to the side ever so slightly. "Feel any better now?" Santana let out a shaky breath. "I didn't think that you would." She said. "That's why I haven't said anything like it before now. Well that and she doesn't really warrant it."

"How so?"

"Well… had her mom not moved to Washington for business reasons, she wouldn't have done this to you."

"How do you know?" Santana asked, "What if she wanted to leave me for a while and thought this was the best way to do it? Like what if she felt like she finally had the chance to get rid of me?"

Dani shrugged, "What if that is the case? Does that make any of this easier?"

Santana nodded her head, "It might make moving on easier if I think that at least one of us wanted this to end." Santana said, "It'd be easier, because that would give me an incentive to move on from her."

"Trust me." Dani said, "Being left by choice is so not easier."

oOoOo

Dani walked into gym class slightly late, most of the girls had already changed fully and were waiting for the arrival of their teacher. Dani smiled at Santana when she entered the room, and dropped down onto the bench beside her. Dani's hair was now tied up into a loose messy bun on the top of her head, leaving a few bits down to frame her face. Santana wondered why Dani didn't have her hair up more often.

"Hello. It's nice of you to join us. Finally" Santana said.

Dani quirked her eyebrow, "Finally? San, the lesson hasn't even started, geez you're making it sound like I'm a half hour late. I'm like, five minutes late, if that." She said shrugging out of her jacket.

"Either way, you're late." Santana said as she fastened her gym shoes. Dani rolled her eyes, "Why are you late anyway? And why is you're hair up now?"

"Oh. I got left cleaning everything up after art class. Every one that had been sat at the same desk as me and had been using everything that I had and more decided they were gonna leave without clearing things away, so I had to do it all." She explained. "And you know what I'm like with my cleaning." She sighed, "And my hair is up because of the rain and I was painting and didn't wanna get paint in it. It's a bitch to get out."

"That I do." Santana said. "You get a little obsessive with it." She said jokingly. "Well, either way, you're hair looks nice."

Dani nodded her head slowly. "I know I do." She said with a slight sigh "And thank you." The air around them turned silent, Dani leaned her head back and closed her eyes she let out a long breath through her nose.

"Are you not gonna change?" Santana asked, looking at Dani from where she sat. The shorter girl was still wearing her skinny jeans, and a baggy, black long sleeved, low cut shirt that dropped off of her shoulders slightly. Dani shook her head slowly. "Wait, why?"

Dani chuckled, "I tend not to participate in gym." She admitted with a small shrug. "I did on Tuesday but, that was more because it was the first lesson than anything else but... Meh, I'm not feeling it today." She admitted.

Santana rolled her eyes, "So you're leaving me to do gym alone?"

"Yeah. You've got this for a year, get used it, dude." Dani said, "I am so glad that gym isn't actually graded for us." Dani smiled, "Obviously, I'd rather it be an elective lesson rather than it being mandatory."

"Don't you run like, every Saturday?" Santana asked, "If that's the case then, why not do gym?"

"I don't mind working out." Dani admitted, "I put my music on and I just go for it." Dani said, "If I could do that now, like, if we were doing circuits today, then I'd definitely join in. But, I don't want to play a crummy game that I'm not even any good at." She said, "Why the hell would I want to play sports when I can barely even walk without falling over?"

"Hmm, oh I don't know, to keep me company?"

"I can do that from the sidelines." Dani said, "But here's an idea, how about you put your clothes back on..."

"I'm not used to hearing that one." Santana joked cutting Dani off.

The girl carried on what she was saying, un-phased by Santana's interruption, "... And come and join me on the sidelines in not doing gym?" She suggested, "It's actually really funny. You get to laugh at all the girls that can't run properly, honestly, join me."

"Daniellaaar Jennifer Mitchell!" Santana said, earning both her and Dani some questioning looks from the other girls in the locker room. Dani rolled her eyes slightly, ignoring both Santana and the other girls. "Join me in gym class otherwise, I'm gonna stop talking to you."

"Oh no... What a travesty that would be." Dani replied sarcastically.

Just then, Coach Sylvester walked into the room, carrying a clipboard, and wearing a bright red track suit, with whit stripes down the arms and sides of the legs, with a whistle around her neck. She looked around the room, at all of the other girl's who had already gotten changed before her eyes landed on Dani.

Dani looked at Santana before turning to face Sue, Dani was shocked to see the blonde teacher, they were supposed to have Shannon Beiste as their gym teacher for the year, Shannon was more relaxed than Sue, and in the past had been known to let Dani get away with not doing gym.

"You." She said pointing to Dani. "Why are you still wearing that?" She asked. Dani opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by coach Sylvester. "Do you have a change of clothes?" She asked, Dani nodded her head slowly, "Get into them then." She said, "And when we get out there, you can do five extra laps."

"Extra?" Dani said.

"Yeah, five laps for warm ups, but you get to do ten, you're lucky."

"If you think that's lucky you need a new dictionary." Dani muttered through grit teeth.

"What was that, blondie?" She snapped.

Dani shook her head, "Nothing." She said, clear confidence in her tone of voice. Coach Sue wasn't used to people behaving like this around her, usually she struck fear into the hearts of the people at McKinley, but Dani remained un-phased.

"Do you wanna make it fifteen laps?" Coach Sue asked.

"Obviously not." Dani said. Santana widened her eyes slightly, as the other girls in the locker room watched the scene in front of them. Santana was used to how Sue could be, what with the years she spent on the Cheerios, Dani on the other hand had never seen the woman's true colours, all she knew were the stories that people had told.

"Dani, quit while you're ahead. I'm begging you." Santana said quietly.

oOoOo

To Sandbags
Where are you. I'm outside in the rain looking like a loner!

Dani sighed and started to play with her car keys out of boredom, waiting for Santana to write her reply. She wasn't waiting long. She never was, Santana was a speed texter compared to some of the people that she knew.

From Sandbags
I have glee. I thought you knew this by now

Dani rolled her eyes, and cursed herself for not remembering. Had she remembered she could have organised something with her friends again, she didn't really mind waiting behind for Santana. But she knew that the girl could get a lift home with Quinn if she wanted or needed.

Had Dani remembered, she would have just asked Santana if it were possible for her to get a lift with the taller blonde so she wouldn't have to wait.

To Sandbags
Guess I'm waiting for you again then? Meet me in the library when you're done.

Dani started to walk back into the school building to be away from the rain, she was thankful that her hair was curly to start with, she couldn't understand why people put so much effort into their hair and make-up when the weather was like this, even if they did look good. Santana was the first person who came into her mind when thinking this. Dani had thought that Santana had looked stunning that morning.

From Sandbags
You don't have to

To Sandbags
No. But I will.

oOoOo

"Finally." Dani said, hurrying to pack her things into her bag, "Seriously, that must have been you're longest glee thing yet." She complained.

Santana shrugged, "I did say you could leave and I would get a lift with Q." Santana said, "But nooo, you had to wait for me."

Dani nodded, "I did. I prefer having someone in the car with me. Even if it is only you."

"Charming." Santana said dryly.

Dani nodded, "I am actually. I mean, you like me."

"Barely." Santana joked.

Dani and Santana all but sprinted back to Dani's car to avoid most of the downpour of the rain. It hadn't let up all day, and by four o'clock, the parking lot had giant puddles in it that splashed up at you when someone drove through them.

"So, did you have fun in your little singing club?"

Santana nodded her head, "I did. I sang today. So obviously it was a better day than all the other's because I'm the most talented bitch in that club."

Dani shook her head slightly. "No. I think you're just the bitch." She deadpanned. She glanced at Santana who was looking at her with an unamused expression etched on her face, Dani smirked slightly, "I'm kidding." She said, "So, what did you sing?"

"Well it was musical inspirations so…"

Dani put her head back against her seat and pretended to snore loudly. "I'm just kidding carry on." Dani said.

"Like I was saying it was musical inspirations week so…" Again Dani started to snore loudly. "You know what, fuck it I'm just not going to tell you."

"I'm listening now, I couldn't not do it again I'm sorry."

"I sang I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues." Santana said, "It was the only thing I could think of singing."

Dani nodded her head, "Well you picked a good one."

oOoOo

"Urgh! I hate the rain." Santana grumbled as she and Dani made their way into the blonde's house.

"I love it." Dani said happily with a small shrug.

"Why?" Santana said, giving Dani a slightly disgusted look.

"I don't know." Dani said honestly, "I've just always sort of liked it." Dani admitted. "I like the smell that comes with it, and I like listening to it." She explained, "I've just always liked it." She finished. "Why do you hate it?" She asked.

"Because." Santana said, "It makes everything wet-"

"Ha! Nice." Dani said cutting the taller girl off.

"Let me finish." Santana said, Dani widened her eyes as an innuendo made it's way into her mind, as if knowing what the other girl was thinking, Santana quickly continued speaking before Dani had chance to say anything else. "It gets everything wet, and it just makes everything so dull." Santana said, "Oh and that smell that you love so much?" Santana said, "I'm sorry to say but, I hate that, too."

Dani smirked and said, "I don't know why you're apologising. Y'know, it wouldn't do for everyone to like the same things." Santana furrowed her eyebrows at the other girl, "Okay so we agree on a few things, that definitely helps with this whole friendship deal, but, I'm not going to stop talking to you just because you don't like the rain." She chuckled, "We are allowed to disagree on stuff."

"I know but..." Santana said trailing off from what she was saying as the reached Dani's house.

Dani pushed the door open, feeling thankful that both of her parents were out. There were some days where she loved having the house to herself, and other times that she hated it. During the day on a Saturday or Sunday, Dani loved it. She loved how quiet it was and how she could pretty much just do as she pleased.

However, on a night, things were quite different. She got scared easily, especially living in Lima Heights Adjacent; it wasn't exactly a nice place to live.

"Hellooo!" Dani called out into the house, "Is anybody home?" She asked, she knew that there was a strong chance that Will would be home at this time, though, she couldn't help but hope that she and Santana had the house to themselves.

"I'm guessing not." Santana said with a small smile.

Dani nodded her head, "Well good." She said.

"Why is that good?" Santana asked, "Have you dragged me over here to have your wicked way with me?" She said with a joking edge to her voice.

"Please," Dani scoffed, "Don't act like you wouldn't let me." She said casually.

Santana's heart fluttered and her breathing hitched at the fact that Dani hadn't denied it, nor had she made a joke, what Dani said had been a casual passing comment. For the second time that day, Santana's body seemed to be making decisions off of it's own accord.

Never before had she thought about Dani in that way. She knew Dani was pretty, she had always known that. It had been the topic of many conversations between her, Sam, Ryder, Puck and sometimes Brittany. But now, with what Dani had said, and the situation they were in, Santana's mind seemed to be playing one track and one alone. And that was how Dani would be in that situation.

"Are you okay?" Dani asked, the sound of her voice pulled Santana out of her less than appropriate trance.

"What?" Santana asked, shaking her head slightly.

Dani smirked, "I asked if you were okay." She said, "You seemed to zone out for a little bit there." She nodded, "You were thinking about what I said right?" Dani asked, "Yeah. You'd let me." She smirked and sent a friendly wink Santana's way.

Again, Santana felt her heart flutter and lurch forwards slightly, what the hell is wrong with me? She shook her head, "N-no." She stuttered, trying to find some form of composure. "I- I was just thi-thinking about..."

"I'm kidding." Dani said, hoping to put Santana's mind at ease. "You can relax and stop spluttering." She said, "It was only a joke."

Santana nodded her head and took a shaky breath, "So what are we doing today?" She asked slowly, trying to find her voice.

"Well, I was thinking maybe we could have a Disney movie marathon and some pizza?" Dani suggested.

"Yeah that sounds great." She replied with a small smile.

"Okay, well if you just go down to the den, I'll be down in about five minutes, I just need to place our order." Dani said.

"Are we not gonna be in your room?"

Dani smiled, "You know, I was only joking when I said it before, but now I really am starting to think that you were thinking about me being naked." She teased.

oOoOo

It was hours later and they had already watched The Little Mermaid and Hercules, both of them had sang all of the songs as loudly as they could. Well that was until Dani received a text from her younger brother telling them to shut up. They were on their third Disney movie of the night and the room was silent.

Santana heard a sniffle come from the girl beside her, she glanced at Dani just in time to see a tear run down her face. "Are you okay?" Santana asked softly.

Dani turned her head away from the screen, "What?" She asked quietly, Santana could see where her make-up had smudged slightly, making her look like a panda, a totally cute panda, Santana shook the though from her head and took a deep breath. Why am I thinking about Dani like this? Stop it. Stop it now!

"I asked if you were okay, you look like you're crying."

Dani nodded her head and smiled slightly, "I am crying." She said, Santana opened her mouth to say something but Dani put a hand up silencing the girl, "But, I'm okay." She said. "I always cry at The Lion King." She admitted.

"Oh."

Dani nodded her head, "Yeah, it's just me being an idiot." She laughed slightly embarrassed by the fact that Santana had caught her crying.

Santana shook her head, "You're not an idiot." She said. She took Dani's hand in her own lacing their fingers together, Dani smiled slightly. It was the same thing she had done to Santana when she had been crying. Though there was something about it that felt different that time.

"Are you mocking me?"

Santana shook her head, "No. You're crying." Santana said, "I'm just comforting you. Like you did with me."

Dani smiled and shook her head slightly before resting it on Santana's shoulder, "Do you mind?" Santana shook her head, staying silent. "Good." Dani said, "Because I'm comfy like this." She said, "And I still think you're mocking me just a little, but I'm going to milk it for all it's worth."

Santana shook her head, "Honestly, D, I am not mocking you."

"If you say so." Dani said.

Santana could understand why Dani thought she was mocking her, the situation they were in now was very different from the situation that Santana had needed comforting through, but still, seeing Dani crying made Santana feel the need to reach out to the girl, even if she was only crying over a Disney movie, she didn't want to see Dani sad, she certainly didn't like seeing her sad.

Santana started to slowly rub her thumb against Dani's. It was a subconscious thing. Just like most of her actions that day around Dani had been. She didn't seem to be able to stop herself. Santana turned her head slightly, she could smell Dani's shampoo and perfume. A smell that all in all she could only describe as Dani.

The room was deadly silent, all but for the sound of the movie. Santana had never known Dani to be so quiet during any movie they watched. Even ones that neither of them had ever seen before, they would talk all the way through it.

Santana liked the silence, she didn't feel the need to talk around Dani, it was nice just having her company. But still, Santana couldn't help herself, she saw an opportunity and she grasped it with both hands.

"When I was a young warthog!" Santana bellowed, Dani sat forwards and lifted her head off of Santana's shoulder, she quirked her eyebrow at her before smiling slightly and laughing.

"Oh my god." Was all Dani had to say, she shook her head slightly.

Santana laughed and nodded her head, "Yeah, I'm a rare talent." She said.

Dani wanted to hear Santana sing properly, the only time she had ever heard Santana sing was when the glee club had been forced to do performances for the whole school in assemblies, Dani's favourite performance had to be the one for alcohol awareness week, when Santana and Brittany through up half way through their performance. It had shocked her, but it had most definitely made her laugh at the time.

But Dani hadn't actually heard Santana sing properly.

"You are. I can see why you're in glee club."

oOoOo

The room was silent until Dani spoke, breaking it. "Are you going to stay the night?: She asked, keeping her voice quieter than usual, that was until realisation dawned on her, "Are you gonna stay the night, doesn't mean we're bound for life. So, are you gonna stay the night?" She sang.

Santana chuckled, but nodded her head slowly, "I can, if you want me to." She said, "But I don't have anything with me."

Dani shrugged, "You didn't last time. I'll lend you some of my stuff again, you can wear what you did last week." She said, "Oh and your toothbrush is still in the bathroom, the pink one remember?"

"You still have my toothbrush? That's not stalkerish at all." Santana said sarcastically.

Dani nodded, "I'm making a voodoo doll. I need some of your DNA." She said. "That's why I'm still talking to you. I need to know what makes you tick if I am going to be able to do this voodoo thing properly." She said, Santana gave Dani a questioning look, which only made Dani smile, "Seriously though, are you staying or not?"

"Do you want me to stay or are you just asking because you think I want you to?"

Dani shook her head, "No. I'd like you to stay." She said honestly, "Do you want to?" Dani asked, "I'm not gonna make you."

Santana nodded her head, "Yeah..." She said almost too quickly for her own liking, "I'm pretty comfy here and I would hate having to get up and move." She said, "I'll just text my mami and let her know what I'm doing."

Dani smiled "Okay." She said, "I'm gonna get a cup of coffee." She said pushing herself up. "Do you want one?" She asked. Santana nodded.

"Two sugars." She said.

Dani nodded her head and smiled, "I know." She said.

oOoOo

They were laid in Dani's bed, facing each other. Once again, all of the lights were off, Santana could only just make out Dani's face in the darkness of her bedroom. "So what's your favourite movie?" Dani asked quietly, she let out a small yawn.

Santana shrugged "I don't know. Maybe V For Vendetta." She said. "I like a lot of movies, though. What about you?" She said.

"I have three favourite movies." Dani said, "Girl, Interrupted and The Breakfast Club." she said ticking them off on her fingers as she went along. "And I absolutely love, Cruel Intentions."

Santana shook her head, "I've never seen that movie."

"Which?" Dani asked quietly.

"Cruel Intentions." She said, "I've seen the others and agree that they are amazing." She said, "But the last one, never seen it."

"It's great, it's like a modern day Dangerous Liaisons." Dani explained, "Sarah Michelle Gellar is in it, and she is smoking hot." She said, "She's just... like, she makes the movie." Dani said smiling slightly.

"Trust you to like a movie just because there's a hot girl in it."

Dani nodded her head, "Yeah that's not why you watch Game of Thrones at all." She said sardonically. "Like, it definitely has nothing to do with all the naked women."

"It's not." Santana said uneasily.

Dani nodded her head, "Sure." She said, sarcasm dripped from her tone of voice. "So you aren't in love with Lena Heady at all?"

Santana shook her head, "No." She said, "I don't even know who she is." Santana lied.

Dani rolled her eyes, "Yes you do... I've seen how you drool over Cersei Lannister."

Santana opened her mouth to say something and closed it again, before settling to throw some banter Dani's way. "You jealous that I don't drool over you?" She asked.

Dani nodded her head "Yeah totally, I'm heart broken about it." She deadpanned. She shimmied further down into her bed, trying to get comfortable, her head coming closer and closer to being level with Santana's chest, Dani ducked her head slightly, not realising what she was doing.

"Having fun looking at those." Santana teased, hoping to embarrass Dani. Dani hadn't in fact been looking, she had had her eyes closed, but upon Santana's words Dani opened her eyes, getting a good view of Santana's cleavage.

Dani's eyes widened slightly, she nodded her head, "Yes. They're pretty nice." Dani said with a smile. She looked back up to look at Santana to see the other girl blushing.

She hadn't expected Dani to actually look, all she had wanted to do was shock the girl, but it seemed as though that planned had backfired big time.

"Th-thanks, I grew them myself." Santana said, stuttering slightly, it had been a moment of panic, she hadn't known what else to say to the girl.

Dani laughed and loudly. She threw her heard back slightly, Santana widened her eyes, and she'd never heard Dani laugh like it before. She'd never heard anyone laugh like it before. But she'd be dammed if she never heard it again. It was infectious and brought a beaming smile to Santana's face.

Santana knew what it was like to care about someone in a friendly way, she had enough of them to know exactly what that felt like. She had very recently formed a friendship with Dani, which had seemed simple enough. But, she also knew what it felt like to have a crush on somebody and to have feelings that were stronger than just friendship, she knew what it felt like for stronger feelings to start developing. Santana had always felt that there was a very fine line between friendly feelings and those that were stronger. And looking at Dani in that moment in time, that line between friendship and more was starting to become a little blurred to Santana.

So it's a late update sorry about that one, but life got a little bit crazy with the assignments I have had to do. And still have to do. Anyway, I hope you like this chapter. The romance is getting ever closer :)
