"We'll take care of these demons, Nick. Run away and pray!" Gabriel instructed Nick and Maria to do so.
"I will not run until Belial is slain. I will not pray unless baptized! Consider me as a heretic!" replied Nick, attempting to advance against the Lord of Lies.
"Nick! Watch thy words. Thou art confronting the divine messengers of God!"
"Oh... forgive me for I have sinned..."
While Nick tried to apologize to Gabriel, he was under attack by a psychic beam from Belial.
"Nick! Take care of these falsifiers! Belial will be facing me." demanded Uriel.
"I am on it." replied Nick.
"And I will help thee." supported Maria, and even Gabriel nodded.
One of the False Prophets used a sinister hypnotic ray on the Prince of Darkness.
"Thou failest me." taunted Nick, using the hypnotic ray as an opportunity to maim the False Prophet with his Gehenna sword.
"Somehow, thou art already corrupted with the lies thou hast towards them, right? I will give thee a tell-tale."
"Nick... Satan will get thee! He is still there to haunt thee, mutilate thee, and take thy impure soul to Hell!" said the suffering False Prophet.
"Now THAT is a tell-tale, wise sage. My answer lieth here."
Gehenna unleashed the bleeding tendrils of darkness inside the body of the False Prophet, spreading like a parasite, releasing dark clouds, disrupting the mind of the enemy by giving nightmares and anguishes, blackening his inner self, and rendered him uncontrollable through the demonic curse Nick invoked on him.
"Take thy kind down, sage, or I will bring thee more holistic pain." commanded Nick, forcing the False Prophet to turn into an uncontrollable Malfested.
This Malfested Prophet was a Satanic Pope-dressing demon, with its skull showing at its face, a larger third eye that was cursed, having a shiny red overcoat that covered its original friar robe, wearing a large mitre with a heraldic image of a goat head in front of the pentagram with runes, and a sharp claw.
Belial was shocked of how Nick corrupted one of his pawns.
The Malfested Prophet was controlled by Gehenna, in which Nick attempted to seize an opportunity to outsmart the Lord of Lies.
"Once more, take. Them. Down." demanded Nick, who was still in his demonic form but had his eyes glowing redder and brighter.
The hypnotic ray, that the Malfested Prophet had, targeted each of the fellow False Prophets' third eyes, thus weakening them instantly.
"Nick actually acted like the Devil himself." warned Gabriel to Maria and Uriel.
"I can still trust him, no matter how hopeless he is to the world as he feeleth. He is still a human, who is subjected to drastic change in both his physical identity and his spirituality." convinced Maria, who was also in fact a human.
"I will confront thy former master, wise sage. Make these fellow falsifiers mutilated. One wrong move, and thou wilt explode in blood." warned Nick to the Malfested, as he was about to deliver a surprise attack at Belial.
"Yes, master..." said the manipulated Malfested.
The False Prophets were about to wield knives to stab Uriel and Maria, but they were disarmed by the Malfested. Half of the remaining False Prophets paid attention to the Malfested and instead tried to attack their fellow demon. The other half were hypnotized and mind-controlled, turning their attention towards their fellow Prophets.
Belial attempted to cast a hypnotic ray on Nick, forcing him to track down Maria and Uriel.
"Thou canst stop me not, traitor! I command thee to go back to the Infernal Legion, and take down that woman and the Heavenly Host by the Devil's command!"
"No way..." witnessed Gabriel in shock.
An Illumina arrow was shot to Belial's head to disrupt the hypnosis.
"Nick is better with human beings with good hearts and wise minds, Belial. He cannot be manipulated by thee." said Maria, telepathically with the Mind Gem.
"Take note, Maria. The Devil needeth not this hypnotic ritual to manipulate anyone here. That Mind Gem only boosteth his manipulative powers, allowing him to command anyone who has little knowledge of this world. I have witnessed it from Satan himself. When his manipulated target disobeyeth his commands, that target will be subjected to extreme psychological torture." warned the angel of the Lord.
"I am also mindful of this, Sir Gabriel. Satan mainly used telepathy and hypnosis as his advantage. I experienced this kind of torture many times from him!" added Nick.
"This is going to be dangerous."
"But then, I have another decision."
"Go for it, then."
"Thinkest thou that I can be stopped by thee? Haha! Such plans of thine will always be futile!" threatened the Lord of Lies.
"Expect not, filthy prick." said Nick, while charging the cursed sword and unleashed the corrupting force it had.
Nick stabbed Belial on his chest and inflicted too much corruption on his already tainted soul.
The staff Belial wielded turned pitch-black and disintegrated into ashes. The Mind Gem was in the hands of Maria.
"I will take care of the gem, brother. The Heavenly Host will use it to enlighten human beings to be more mindful, more faithful, and wiser."
"Why do we use this gem when we have our Father who is omnipotent?" questioned Gabriel.
"I see... so I will just..."
"Just give it to me; I have a plan regarding the gem Belial used."
Meanwhile...
The shadowy force reached Belial's third eye, turning it black with its pupil stopping to react. The other two eyes shed inky black tears. The nose spewed black blood, and while the Lord of Lies screamed, he was choked before vomiting tormented souls.
"The woeful, desperate souls are the targets of demons. These souls need help, mercy, and eternal rest." said Nick.
"Fret not. The Lord our Father will take them to Heaven. The survivors who are related to these souls hope that they will be saved. On His behalf, we will guide them." replied Gabriel, leading the souls to Heaven with his brother Uriel.
Belial's blood overflowed as his body was disintegrated into ashes. However, his shadow haunted Nick for his future vengeance.
"I will be back, and thou wilt pay for what thou hast done!"
"Not anymore."
"Brother, we need to go back. The Lord calleth us and He sendeth us another enlightening message." warned Gabriel to Uriel, leaving Nick and Maria in the forest.
"What happened to the souls in Hell?" Nick was curious.
"They will find eternal rest and bliss in Heaven. They are saved by God's grace. The prayers of their loved ones, who mourned for their deaths, allowed Him to save the souls, even those who are trapped in the fires of Hell." answered Maria, optimistically.
"As what I have seen as well, there are souls in Hell that are originally innocent, but are subjected to destructive judgments of the surrounding people."
"May the Lord give them sound minds and wise judgments."
Upon Satan's retreat from Gabriel's attempted attacks, he spectated Belial's defeat from Nick.
"NO! Even my intelligent second-in-command was slain by an insolent human? I will falter not!" said the frustrated Devil.
"A human... that turneth into a demon, master?" asked a Hell Spawn.
"YES! Now I want thee to find Mammon and bring him to me. I will give him a task. If thou canst find him, go to the fiefs of Caldeum, Zantrom, and Auroris for further quests to follow."
"As thou wishest, master."
As the Devil was left alone in his throne in Hell, he smirked ominously as if he still had plans for Nick's suffering to be fulfilled. He learned that Nick had betrayed the Infernal Legion.
