Weeks after his interaction with Nick, it was time for Zen to wander around the ruins of Zantrom. However, he sensed the screams of souls around the fief. To Zen's perspectives, no living inhabitant was found there, as either they escaped or they were slain by the despotic emperor.
To his surprise, Jenneh was involved in a cult following.
"I just thought she stayed in her manor, never allowing Mana to be left behind. What is wrong with Jenneh?"
The cloaked necromancers were led to an abandoned cathedral.
Mana, who was supposed to stay in Jenneh's manor, was found to be involved in the cult as well.
"That maketh sense... but why are there hooded folks?" asked Zen about the happening.
Zen did not notice until a voice of a nun was heard in the cathedral.
"What dost thou need, mystics?"
"Not a single demonic energy I see... but lots of souls are what I am around... what hath this fief been through?" spectated Zen in a whisper.
The gathering was without any chandelier lit, a group of occultists carried candles around Jenneh.
"Behold, my queen, we have gathered in this altar to ask thee for thy blessing." prayed Jenneh.
Two red eyes gazed the lady.
"My followers, I have given thee a significant favor. The cathedral of Zantrom will become a communing place for some of thee, granting thee powers beyond the sight of a human. Channel thy powers to this idyllic being I arranged from thee, because she has contributed a lot of assembled philosophies about my true existence. Behold!"
A lot of souls were suddenly moved to the cathedral, as Jenneh became the medium of communing.
The shadow was who these occultists worshipped, as they engaged a transcendent connection through solemn rituals. The occult pentagram inscribed in their blood was shown on the floor.
Mana was surprisingly wandering around, wearing a long black robe and carrying a large broom.
"I need to tell Nick regarding this!" suspected Zen.
"Zen..." called Mana, who saw him from the distance.
"What happened to thy Lady Jenneh, demon? Why art thou here?"
"Lady Jenneh hath a plan..."
"What plan deviseth she?"
"The occultists... they were about to..."
There came a tremor felt by Mana, Zen, Jenneh, and the occultists. Suddenly, the Shades, who are the shadow people encloaked in a dark mist, haunted Mana.
"Zen! Let us out of here!"
"Demons..."
Meanwhile, Zen also saw that Crawlers and Familiars from outside unearthed themselves and advanced to the cathedral.
"Come with me. Disregard thy Lady. I will tell the Prince of Darkness about the continued darkening of Zantrom." requested Zen to Mana, as he spread his dark angelic wings.
Meanwhile in Caldeum, Sol sat on a throne alone, while a ray of light shone in front of him.
"Who is this?" asked the baron.
"Consider me as thy helping hand when it cometh to order." said the ray of light, showing an angelic figure.
"Art thou sent by the Lord our God just for me?"
"No, I am bringing a warning now. Many people are swooned by the manipulations of the Devil. This includeth thee and thy people. The restless spirits of the dead, whose lives are lost or taken without any prior consent, are inducing chaos in another fief..."
"Nick must have done this restlessness!"
"Watch thy words, King of Caldeum. There must be something darker behind. If thou art about to interrogate that person without prior discernment..."
Following an abrupt moment of silence on both sides, the cloaked Nick stood behind the angel, attempting to cover himself from the bright light.
"The Baron... has a guardian angel?" Nick noticed the two.
"I am Jehudiel." the angel replied.
"Nick. What art thou doing here? I thought those who committed a crime shall be judged and condemned." Sol was slightly infuriated.
"Thou understand not... and I am aware of that something darker behind. Hell hath become a prison for misjudged souls that are eternally burned for what they have done not. And shall this fief do the same?"
"What dost thou mean about this?" asked the confused Sol.
"The Devil launcheth a dark infiltration scheme not just here. The whole empire will be afflicted. Soon, the whole world will be corrupted by evil. I will tell thee this. The Devil engages a game of chess with God."
"The spiritual war is still ongoing. Baron, thou needest to have a spiritual adviser." requested Jehudiel.
Nick left the conversation as Jehudiel was somehow convinced of his words. Sol attempted to stop the Prince of Darkness, but he was intervened by the Archangel of Work.
"I still see the light behind Nick's eyes..."
Sol retreated to his seat as Jehudiel, with his full appearance yet unseen due to the light, disappeared.
"What in the world..." exclaimed the baron after the encounter.
Sol slowly stood up and searched for Nick himself. No knights guarded his chair, and his lair was left empty.
"Nick! We still have to talk about this matter! Where art thou?"
Going back to Zantrom, Lady Jenneh confronted a shadow demoness named Nyx.
Nyx was a gigantic demoness shrouded with black mist, with pale skin inside, red eyes, two large black horns on her head, and wearing a black gown.
"Woman... I am given the authority to bestow thee the fullest, infinite magical power, incomprehensible to humankind! The Devil hath bestowed me this power, and together, we will bring this fief into chaos!"
As soon as Nyx invoked her speech to Jenneh, an angelic voice was heard.
"The Devil sent thee... to command these followers of thine, to control the minds and souls of men, and to hide them from the light of truth and reality in exchange of dark ideals and burning standards of Hell."
"Who art thou, infiltrator? Show thyself!" demanded the enraged Jenneh.
A white hooded archer was seen from afar. Nyx was displeased.
"Hast thou not comprehend, that what the Devil hath planned beforehand is against humankind in the first place? And ye went forth on carrying his deceptive plans out? Why wilt thou not confess and repent, and submit thyself to God?"
"Bring her to me!" ordered Nyx to Jenneh's cult worshippers.
The cloaked cultists carried daggers on their right hands and paraded towards the white archer, who unveiled herself as Maria. In response, she cast a purification spell on the black cultists in the name of the Lord. The two dark ladies were astonished, as the cultists were blinded by the light and disarmed.
The Shades, who were also Nyx's minions in Zantrom, surrounded Maria and invoked grisly pulses at her, which will subsequently corrupt her. But the Princess of Light hesitated not. She fired multiple sacred arrows to the sky, directing towards the Shades as she disappeared in a ray of light.
"Call for reinforcements and gather here afterwards. I will taint her angelic heart and tear it apart." warned Nyx to Jenneh, as she pursued to the exits of the cathedral of Zantrom.
Meanwhile, the necromancers who escaped saw Zen flying from the distance, and summoned numerous Unclean Spirits and Familiars to chase them.
"I summon thee, my familiars! Intimidate the flying angel!"
Nyx, displeased of Maria's intervention, prepared to cast a dark orb.
"Thou wilt answer to thy transgressions, woman. Thou hadst trespassed the solemn ceremony of the Mystica. Now... thou wilt see the corrupting shadow in thee. Thy mind will be controlled by the Devil, thy heart will be tainted by sin, and thy soul will be doomed to Hell for eternity!"
"I have the One who canth control me, and I can do all things through Him who strengtheneth me. But not only me, but also all people who have faith in Him. The Devil canth never manipulate me... at all."
As Nyx cast the dark orb, Maria fired a sacred arrow to intercept it.
An explosion occurred as a result, as the Princess of Light cast a divine pulse to stun, blind, and even inflict holy damage on Nyx.
"I will subdue thee not, as I will not go further. Now, it relieth on thy occult foresight on what will actually happen if the Prince of Darkness confronteth thee and thy own master."
Maria disappeared through a ray of light, as Nyx was astonished about what will be the outcome if another demon, the Prince of Darkness, Nick, will challenge her to a brutal fight and, subsequently, face the Devil once again.
