The Story of the Dragon pirate

Hey Guys, sorry if you thought this was a new chapter but it's just an update on the story as of now, (Sorry if you're disappointed guys!) I just needed to address this as it has been bothering me for a while now and feel like I have to talk about it to everyone reading this.

I've been writing and rewriting the next chapter for a while now but have been frustrated with how the story is going as of lately. I've noticed that most of the time, Goku would knock out his opponents very quickly and wouldn't have any struggles to deal with personally because I created him in this story as a character who can't be bested by anyone no matter what the antagonist tries to do. To be short, I hate it.

I hate having to make a story where the fight scenes aren't up to my expectations because I want to make them as fun and enjoyable to think about with what-if scenarios but only to be cut short when I remember I'm writing about Goku who can't deal with any personal struggles because of the way he is made. I regret making him have his god powers and being able to go to these transformations because if I make it seem Goku is not winning the fight with ease, I receive a lot of hate and criticism for Goku not being able to clobber his opponents. (I expect most will say, bring in characters that are from the dragon ball world but that's not what I originally intended it to be)

Going back a few chapters, I stated saying Goku doesn't take his fights seriously and I wanted to use that to my advantage. To make Goku appear to be sizing up his opponent but it doesn't matter as I still receive criticism for why Goku is at this level of power and how he can destroy whatever he wants with a flick of his wrist. Don't get me wrong, I love that type of action when it's being animated but not when you read it because it doesn't feel fun writing a short paragraph of what I originally planned out and creates a mediocre chapter.

I'm thankful to everyone who uses criticism in a positive way to help me improve my ability to write as I received a lot of positive feedback in my p.m for making chapter 29 a lot better than my other chapters in the story. I thank you for that because I received a lot of support to make short chapters as it seems to be the best way to progress the story instead of longer chapters.

So I guess what I really wanted to say is, would you, the readers be open to me creating a way for Goku to lose his powers and be forced to retrain and become the powerful being he originally was back in the dragon ball franchise? I found a way to create a reasonable idea (in my eyes) to make this work. It may not create the best story you'll ever read, but I feel like it will be the best course of action to take in the right direction for the story and it is acceptable to not only dbz fans but also One piece fans.

Because when you think about it, the original design for this story was for Goku to become stronger as he travels the One piece world with Luffy, Hancock and the Straw hats, but clearly isn't. I hope you'll either pm me about this or leave a review about what you decide on. (PLEASE DO) I want to make my story better and I feel like I could make it better instead of making it so repetitive of Goku comes in a beats the enemy and all is well that ends well for our characters.

Plus now that I'm back in school again, I can't put much focus into this story because of the workload I'm being hit with school as of now. So again, if you're upset with the short chapters, I'm really sorry and I hope you'll be open to this being the new course of action in the story now with my work schedule being bombarded as of lately.

Also, I'm not quitting the story if you are wondering so don't worry about that, but be prepared to wait a while if you don't see a new chapter very soon. I'm trying to figure out what I can do to make the story more entertaining so please don't hate me if I b.s something just leave a review and I'll try to make it better with the next chapter.
