Ch 5
"Marshal!"
Sam jumped up. "What is it Billy?"
"There's been a massacre. I haven't seen anything like this since I was in the war." Billy tells Sam. "There's twenty dead over at the whore house Sam. Four more dead behind the saloon."
Sam looked shocked at what he was told. They walked over to the alley beside the saloon. They found the two dead men.
"Sam, the other two are around back." They walk back to find the woman and man from the night before stacked on top each other.
"Billy, go get the undertaker and get this cleaned up. I'm going to the whore house to have a look."
Sam walked down the street. Two of his deputies were on the porch.
"Sam, it's bad. I never seen anything like this."
Sam walked in to find the floor washed down with blood. There was blood dripping from the ceiling. My God, he says to himself. The hair on his arms stand up. He steps over the bodies and walked upstairs to find the most the most horrific murders he's ever laid eyes on. By the time he made it to the last room, he was at a loss for words.
Walking out the door he takes his hat off, not believing what he just saw.
"Sam, they missed one. We got her at the saloon."
"You ever seen anything like that before?" Tim asked looking at Sam for comfort.
"I don't think anyone has." Sam replies walking to the saloon. He walks in to find a shaken woman setting at the bar.
"Ma'am, I'm Marshal Sam. Can you tell me anything?"
"The bitch was crazy Sam. He was too. They laughed as they killed Janet. I was standing behind the door when it flew open. I held the handle hiding there. I could hear the knife plunging in their bodies. They were laughing the whole time."
"Did you get a look at them?"
"I never saw them before. The man had long dark hair. He had a black hat on and a tan coat. She called him Jimmy. I don't know what her name was. They kissed and had fun killing everyone. They're freaks. They need to hang for what they did."
"They are going to don't worry. What did the girl look like?"
"She had the bluest eyes I ever seen. She had brown hair too. Her face was like a angel but her soul belonged to the devil. She stabbed their bodies over and over even after they were dead." The Marshal thanked her for her help and made his way over to the office. It was full of men.
"Sam, we got to do something about this!" the men shouted. "They killed all the whores."
"We needed new ones anyway." Sam says.
"We will find them. Let's head out and look for two sets of tracks leaving town. Come back here as soon as you find something." About a hour later one of them came back
"I found it Marshal. They're going south."
"They might be headed to the border. Let's go. We got to catch them." Sam says.
