Big Hero 6: The Art Theives
Chapter 40: Summer Festival Surprises
The sun comes up and shines in my room, waking me up. I look at my phone and realise what date it is, "THE SUMMER FESTVAL IS JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY." I yell with excitement, calming down I wonder, "I wonder who this mystery singer will be."
Just as I finish getting ready for the day, I get a video call from my grandmother. "Sakura, you never visit anymore and the summer festival is coming up. You had better come and see your sobo and ojichan, if you can get a flight out, that is. And don't forget to bring your friends along with you. We have a lot of spare bedrooms and you can stay in your old bedroom. And I can make all the food that you love for you and for your friends."
I nod in reply and we talk for a little longer before we say goodbye and hang up the phone. I have a look at the flights and let out a whimper, "All the flights are booked and there is no flights out of this entire town. This is so not good, this is really bad, why does this have to happen now." I let my head fall forward and hit the desk, "Ouch. Note to self, the desk hurts." I rub my head as I head down the stairs.
As I walk into the kitchen, my dad looks up at me, "So, my cherry blossom, I got a call from you grandmother. And she wants us to go to Japan for the summer festival."
I nod as I sit down, "Yes, I know. But all the flights are booked for the summer, and it will be over before we get there."
My dad nods as I get up and grab some breakfast. After I finish it, I head down to the café, the bells above the door summoning the attention of Aunt Cass, "Morning Sakura, what has you down?" she asks as she cleans the tables before the breakfast rush.
I smile and rest my head on my arms, "Well, there is a summer festival at home and, well, I really want to go but all the flights are booked. And none are free for a whole week. It will be over by the time I get there at this rate." I put my head back down on my arms, trying to calm myself down after my temper tantrum with a pout and a whimper.
She rubs my back as the gang walks in, I give a small wave as the sit down next to me. Honey looks over at me, "You look sad, what's wrong?" I explain the group what was going on and Fred looks up at me, "Well, we can take the family jet and we will be there in no time."
I jump up and hug Fred, "Fred, I love you." Tadashi looks shocked and hurt and as I pull away I say quickly, "As a brother, of course."
Tadashi hides a cough, "Are you feeling okay? You look a little sick like you're starting to run a fever."
He just shakes his head, "No, I just need some water. But I can't wait to see your home town."
I giggle as I say, "There will be a big fireworks show after the festival and so much food, games and music."
Fred looks at me like a two year old on a sugar high as he begs, "Please tell me we can go and see where Godzilla was filmed. I always wanted to see the place it was filmed and shot."
I laugh, "I think we will have time to see it, you know, if we are not having too much fun at the festival."
Go-go pops her gum and looks at me, "So, are you going to sing at the festival like you did in the shower?" she finishes with an evil glint in her eyes.
I looked at her shocked, my jaw hanging open, wondering how she found out about the shower. I turn ruby red as I shake my head, "No, I mean, maybe, I don't know yet."
Go-go suddenly grins at me, "Just messing with you." Slapping my back as she laughs.
I wince as I say, "Good one. Really."
After a while, everyone leaves leaving Hiro, Tadashi and myself sitting there. Hiro turns and looks at me, "Sis, will there be bot fights as well."
I shake my head, "No, I don't think so." Hiro sighs and I pat his head, "But, there will be a ton of games that will test you."
Hiro laughs, "I will win these games, just you wait."
I laugh as Tadashi shakes his head, "Oh, yes. There will be a big dance game as well. And a party with all kinds of dancing." Tadashi smiles and tries to hide a yawn, thanks to his cold it was making him extremely sleepy. He tries to hide another yawn.
Tadashi nods as he yawns and rubs his eyes, "I was working all day in the lab and it seems to have taken a toll. I will see you later Sakura." I blush and nod at him.
Hiro gives me a sly smile which I ignore as I say, "I better go and get my things ready to leave. Talk to my parents about it at as well. I will see you in a few days."
I head home as Tadashi was getting ready for bed, "I really hope I get to hear her sing again. It was nice to hear her sing, and maybe I will be able to dance with her as well. I just hope that I get that chance." He pulls on his pyjamas and gets into bed, "Maybe Baymax can come as well and tape our dance." He let's out a cough as he pulls the comforter over him as his eyes start to close.
He yawns and grabs his teddy bear and falls asleep. Hiro goes up to bed and looks at his brother, "You can't run from this bro, it's catching up to you fast."
As I get home, I get another video call from my grandmother, "Sakura, I forgot to mention, I entered your name in a few singing contests, so please have some songs ready."
I smile and nod to her, saying goodbye as I get to my bedroom, I fall backward onto my bed, "Great, this will be just so much fun." Kiba walks into my room and licks my hand, "Yes, you can come as well." Kiba jumps up and licks my face, I scrunch up my nose and turn my face away, "Why did you do that?" Kiba just lets out a whimper making me laugh, "I love you so much you crazy dog." Kiba barks and wags his tail.
He jumps up on the bed and I continue to talk to him, "What songs am I going to sing and how many people will be there? Oh no, I have to sing in front of Tadashi, what am I going to do?" I blush at the thought of that and start getting ready for bed, "I hope it all works out for the best and is not sick. He really didn't look that good." I turn out the light, roll over and go to sleep.
