Chapter 41: In Plane Site

I yawn as the sun comes up and I get out of bed to get ready for the day. "I wonder what kind of planes Fred's family has and which one we fly on to Japan." I say to myself as I head down to the kitchen and smile at mum, "Sakura, are you sure you want to do this? You know what happened the last time you tired to enter a contest."

I nod at mum, saying "Yes, I know that I can win it this time, I am much better than last year."

"Okay, but if you don't win, please don't be too upset, okay?"

I smile at her and head upstairs, getting dressed for the day in a pair shorts and t-shirt, before walking down to pull on a pair of shoes and call out bye to my parents before walking down to the café.

I walk in and see the gang sitting at a table, Fred looks up at me, "Flower girl, I got some good news." I sit down at look at him, waiting for him to finish, "I talked to my parents and they said we can take the plane."

I smile, "That's great. I can't wait for you guys to meet the rest of my family. You are going to love my home town. And we have to go to Tokyo tower, the view from there is awesome."

Hiro walks down the stairs, "So, sis, how long are we going for?"

I turned to him, "Well, the summer star festival lasts about a week and there is a huge firework show after the festival, and a whole heap of other fun as well." Hiro nods and smiles, showing the gap in his teeth as I pat his head.

Fred looks at me, "But, we can still see where Godzilla was filmed yeah?"

I nod at him, "Yeah, I think it is going to be right bear the festival, so we can head there before the festival starts up."

Go-go pops her gum before she says, "What about the singing contest. You have to sing in it."

"I guess so, I don't know all the rules, and wont until we get there. I just know that it ties in with the guest singer at the end on the festival."

Honey lemon chimes in saying, "So, have you ben in a singing contest before, or is this your first one?"

I let out a sad sigh, trying not to think of the past contest, "Yes, and lets just say that I didn't hit all the notes and got sent home before the final round. But this time I am going to win."

She nods and smiles as Tadashi comes down, "I know you will do great." I blush and nod as Aunt Cass comes up and asks, "So, what do we have to pack. Because I can all ways cook for the trip and bring my pots and pans with me."

I laugh as I say, "Don't worry you can help my grandparents but I think everything is covered."

Fred comes over and asks, "So, do you want to see the planes we have?"

I nod and we all head over to Fred's families plane hangar. As we walk in, I look around and say, "This place could hold twenty planes or more."

Fred laughs, "You have not seen anything yet."

I tilt my head in confusion, "There's more?" I knew I looked like a confused puppy trying to catch a butterfly that keeps moving or who just got a shiny new collar that I kept being distracted by.

He nods as we walk into the hanger, "Welcome to my family's hanger. Now you can pick what plane you want to use. All of them have been fuelled and can go faster than the speed of light and spit out fire as well."

I hear the others groan as I said, "I don't think that would be necessary, but I guess it's a good thing." As we walk around, looking at the plans, I spotted one that had light green on the outside with a little bit of red on the top of the wings, and flames painted on the back of the plane, "Wow, this is so pretty, I love the colours."

Fred nods and looks up at the plane, "Yeah, they are my favourite colours as well." We walk into the plane and take a tour of the inside; it had light blue couches, with light green carpets with yellow trim with flames painted on the walls and super hero posters hanging on the walls. Fred smiles, "This is the best part."

He pushes a button and the lights change colours, he pushes it again and it shows the night sky, I look up at it, mouth agape, "This is so cool Fred, I love it."

Fred looks at me and smiles as we leave the plane, "I know, pretty sweet. And its all mine, well, if I ask then its all mine, and Heathcliff as well when he wants to use it."

I look at him with a raised brow, "Who is Heathcliff?"

Fred laughs as he replies, "He is my butler and a friend of the family." I smile as we head out. I hear Tadashi cough and I turn towards him, "I hear you coughing." He nods at me and just shakes it off. We all head back to the café, sitting down as Aunt Cass brings over some drinks, "So, Sakura, what kind of food does your grandparents make?"

I look up at her, "All kinds of food from sweets to full cakes and so on. They love to bake, that is how my mum and I learned how to do it." Aunt Cass looks at me and smiles before going to do something else.

We stay and talk for a little bit longer before we all head home. Hiro and Tadashi go up the stairs to get ready for bed when Hiro looks over at Tadashi, "She was really taken with all those planes bro, and now you know where she learned to cook. It's going to be fun watching you dig yourself out of this hole."

Tadashi rolls his eyes, "For the last time, I don't have a crush, and I don't care what you say." He looks at Hiro as he says sternly, "This festival won't prove anything, you will see."

Hiro just smirks, "Just you watch bro, you will fall before you know it."

I head up to my room and look at my old contest ribbons, "This year is going to be different, just you wait, I will come up on top and win that prize." Kiba barks at me and I giggle, "Yes, you can be my coach." He wags his tail at me as I pat his head. I get ready for bed and fall sleep, almost as soon as my head hits the pillow.
