Big Hero 6: The Art Thieves
Chapter 47: Lights, Camera, Mistakes
I yawn as I look out my window, watching as the sun rose over the horizon. I climb out of the bed as I think about the day ahead 'I guess today is the last day before the festival. I hope I do well with my lines, I am so scared that I am going to mess them up.' I walk into my closet and pick out an outfit; a cream coloured dress with two layers of lace to puff out the skirt, in the middle of the dress's white collar is gathered pink fabric. It had yellow five and six pointed stars that ran down from the collar and connected to the yellow lines that ran down the front and back of the skirt. White stockings were worn with the dress, they had yellow lines that had four pointed stars on them as well as a pair of cream colours slip-on's that had a star on the toe. A star clustered crown goes along the backside of the head to finish the look off.
I walk out of my room and down to the kitchen and seeing grandma there, "You guys going to finish the movie today?" She asked me as I sat down.
"Yes, then we have the festival next week. I can't wait to see who the guest speaker is. I hope that I can win the contest." There was a noise at the top of the stairs and suddenly the gang was all in the kitchen with us. I looked around but didn't see Tadashi, "Hiro, is your brother up yet?" I asked, trying to let the concern show while hiding the sadness.
"He wasn't feeling well, so Aunt Cass came and checked him over and took his temperature." Hiro said with a small smile, "He is going to stay in bed and rest for the day, Aunt Cass's orders."
I nod my head and smile at him, trying to hide the sadness I was feeling at missing out on spending the day with Tadashi, unfortunately, Honey Lemon picks up on it and send me a small smile just at Fred grins at me, "Don't worry Flower girl, let's have some fun at the movie set, maybe I can wreck some more of it." I shake my head and let out a laugh at him. Once we finished breakfast, we all place our dishes in the sink, I kept my head down and avoided looking at Honey Lemon, knowing that whatever platitude that she said would just make me feel worse. We grabbed our jackets and walked out to the station. I sit down by the window and look out the window with my head on my arms. After a moment, Honey comes and sits down next to me, "Sakura, are you okay? You seem to have something on your mind."
I looked over at her with a small smile, "Yeah, I am fine, I am just nervous about the shoot and remembering the lines." We arrive at the set and I start going over my lines again, making sure that I remembered them all, when the director walked over to us, "The last take was great, now we are going to do the last scene. You are going to be hooked up to wires and a harness to make it look like you are flying. Oh! I also have a costume for you." With that, he walked back to his chair, shouting orders at people as he went making the crew groan.
A couple of people brought out the costume and I couldn't help but stare at it; it was a light pink dress that had lines running up and down. The skirt was rather plain, cylindrical and had a dark blue rim around the bottom, the as the end of the end of the sleeves. There was also a pair of long gloves that Sakura had to wear. The cape is joined together by a pink star on the front of the costume. To finish off the look was a pair of thigh high boots and a hat that looked like a semi-circle and with a pink star on the front.
As I get hooked up, Go-Go walked over to Honey Lemon, "She is not as cheerful today as normal. And it's not just the movie shoot. She is upset that Tadashi isn't here, and I think that she blames herself for getting him sick."
Honey nods her head and watches as they finish setting up the shot and I am lifted to the correct spot. I start to say my lines when suddenly I am dropped a little. I look around in panic when I notice that the lines are unravelling. I let out a terrified yelp as I start to fall, Yukito rushes forward and manages to catch me before I hit the floor. I grab hold have him and burst into tears; I couldn't help it no matter how much I hates crying in front of everyone. I hated that my make up was going to run and ruin his shirt. Yukito hold me tight as the rest of the gang run over to me, rubbing my back. Yukito yells over the top of my head, "Did you actually check the lines before you pulled up her there? Or could you not be bothered? She could have been seriously hurt!"
Go-Go hands me a glass of water and I take a few small sips, trying to calm myself down. After a few moments, I stand and hand the glass back to one of the crew members with a smile. Go-Go grabs my shoulders and looks me in the eyes, "I know that was scary, and we will deal with it soon. But woman up and let's finish this shoot first, okay?" I roll my eyes as I smile and nod my head at her. I walk over to make-up girls and let them work their magic and help me clean up.
They were just about finished when the director comes walking up to me, "I am so sorry. That wasn't meant to happen, the lines should have been checked better. I am sorry, you did great though." I smile at him and walk back to the set, getting ready to do the rest of the shoot. Once we were done, I got changed back into my own clothes and we got on the train to head back to my grandparents.
Meanwhile, at my grandparent's house, Tadashi is woken up by the text message alert on his phone by Hiro letting him know what had happened today. Wanting to be up and alert for Sakura, Tadashi had a quick shower before walking out and going to find Aunt Cass, "You look better," she said as he walked in the door of the kitchen, "But something in wrong, isn't it?" Tadashi shows Aunt Cass the message from Hiro in way of an explanation.
As we walk up to my grandparents' house, I tell them to go ahead as I wanted to clear my head a bit before going inside. I watch them walk up the path a little before walking around to the lotus pond, I started humming the tune for a song that had been ion my head since the accident, sitting down I started to sin it out loud;
"Maybe you're better off without me
I think it's better for you
I forgot how great it felt to be
Guess I got carried away
I had to use you to make me feel strong
But I don't care about that now
I see a tower built out of my mistakes
And it all comes crashing down
Is there something I can do?
Is there something I can do?
Is there something I can do?
Can I make it up to you?"
I sat there looking down into the pond, ignoring the tears that were running down my face for a while. After a bit, I noticed the sun was going down and I needed to get home, so I stood up and dusted myself off, wiping and cleaning my face as much as I could before I walked back inside the house. I walked into the living room to see Tadashi sitting there, as soon as he sees me, he gets up and walks over to me, "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you want me to get Baymax?" he asks as he checks me over for bruises and sore points, I had to hide a wince as my ankle was still a little sore if I put pressure on it the wrong way. When he looked back at my face, I smiled and shook my head at him, "I am fine, just a little shock is all."
I was just about to sit down with everyone when we got called for dinner, so we all made our way into the dinning room. I sat there picking and playing with my food for a bit before I looked up at everyone, "I am not that hungry, is it okay if I go and look at the site for the festival? I will be back I about an hour." My grandparents nodded their head and I smiled my thanks before walking to the front door and grabbed my skates. I sat down at on the front step and put them on and head to the site. Back at the dining room, Tadashi watches the door that I had just excited through, "Is she actually going to be okay, do you think?" He asks Hiro quietly.
Hiro nods his head a little sadly, "Yeah. She just had a bad scare today; she will be fine. She just needs a little space to be able to clear her head properly."
I got to the site and started to follow the paths in and around the festival, waving to people that I knew.
"If there's a prize for rotten judgment
I guess I've already won that
No man is worth the aggravation
That's ancient history, been there, done that
Who d'you think you're kidding?
He's the earth and heaven to you
Try to keep it hidden
Honey we can see right through you (Oh no)
Girl, you can't conceal it
We know how you're feeling
Who you thinking of?
No chance, no way, I won't say it, no, no
You swoon, you sigh, why deny it, oh, oh
It's too cliché, I won't say I'm in love
I thought my heart had learned its lesson
It feels so good when you start out
My head is screaming "get a grip, girl"
"Unless you're dying to cry your heart out"
Girl, you can't deny it
Who you are and how you're feeling?
Baby we're not buying
Hon, we saw you hit the ceiling
Face it like a grown-up
When you gonna own up that you got, got, got it bad?
No chance, no way, I won't say it, no no
Give up, give in, check the grin, you're in love
This scene won't play, I won't say I'm in love
We'll do it until you admit you're in love
You're way off base, I won't say it
Get off my case, I won't say it
Girl don't be proud, it's okay you're in love
At least out loud I won't say I'm in love."
After a while, I start to feel better, the feeling of skating was so familiar that it really did help. After skating around town and looking at the decorations for a while, I head back as I didn't wasn't to stay out too late. I sat on the bottom step, taking off my skates before I walked inside to see Tadashi waiting for me, "Sakura, are you okay? Feeling a bit better?"
I nod as I reply, "Yes. I just needed some air. You need some more rest as well. I put my skates away and jacket as Tadashi walks up to me, "Hiro told me what happened, I hope you're okay. I really want you to feel better." He said as he gave me a hug.
I smile, "I am okay. I will be fine, I am going to head up to bed and get some rest, Oyasuminasai, it has been a wild day." We say goodnight and I walk up to my room, trying to hide the blush that was forming. I walk into my room at look at Kiba, "He was really worried about me." Kiba jumps up at me and licks my face, "That won't wash out, you know?" Kiba just barks and jumps back up on my bed as I get ready and hop in as well. I turn out the light and am asleep al most before my head hits the pillow.
Tadashi walks back to the room he is shearing with Hiro, "So, tell me how the cable broke again?"
Hiro paused his game before looking up, "The lines started to unravel and then it snapped. Yukito caught her before she hit the ground and hurt herself too badly." HE finishes before going back to his game, trying to beat the level he was on before going to bed.
Tadashi finishes getting ready for bed and sit down on the edge, "Well, I am glad she wasn't hurt. I don't know what I would have done if she had gotten hurt."
Hiro looks over at his brother, "So you do have a crush on her? You should tell her."
Tadashi shakes his head, "No, it's not the right time. I am going to wait."
Hiro shakes his head at his brother, "Okay, but if you don't tell her soon, it could be too late, and you may never get the chance" Tadashi just rolls his eyes ad get into bed. Hiro can't help but smirk, "I can't wait to see how he is going to tell her. I am so going to bring the popcorn to watch the show."
