Her Words
Prompt 1: Kagome is taking care of Inuyasha after getting hurt badly during a battle. What will happen? (Prompt Given by Inuyasha.)
-Inuyasha/Kagome pairing.
"Wind Scar!" Inuyasha yelled, swinging the tessaiga, shooting its attack towards it target.
Before the attack hit the demon moved with a flash and appeared right in front of Inuyasha. Before Inuyasha could react the dragon grabbed him by the throat.
"Is that all you got mutt?" He growled. He began to squeeze and lifted him off the ground.
Inuyasha began to stuggle, he couldn't breath, he dug his nails into the demons forearm. Inuyasha tried to talk but couldn't, it would only come out in gasps. Out of nowhere a flash of light came shooting by, slicing into the dragon's arms making him drop her friend. Inuyasha fell to the ground coughing and gasping for air. "You bastard..." He whispered as he held his neck.
"Ahhh... What the hell. Why does it burn?" The dragon rawred. His attention left Inuyasha and immediately went to where the surprise attack came from.
"Kagome damn it. I had it handled." Inuyasha grumbled.
"Oh yeah, I seen. Oh and you're welcome." Kagome said sacrastically.
"You two done bickering? If so, it's your time to die." The demon said, charging towards Kagome.
"Shit... No... KAGOME!" Inuyasha yelled, running as fast as he could. 'Please let me make it.'
Kagome stood in fear, she wanted to run, to try to dodge the attack but she couldn't. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly. She heard Inuyasha yell her name and tried to scream for him back but every time she opened her mouth nothing came out. The next thing she knew she felt something splatter all over her. When she opened her eyes all she seen was red. 'Blood. But I'm not...' Her eyes widened. She looked up to see Inuyasha standing in front of her with the dragons hand through his stomach.
"No... INUYASHA!" Kagome screamed.
Inuyasha couldn't move, all he could do is watch what was happening around him. 'Run... Kagome...'
The dragon laughed and threw Inuyasha to the ground. "Well that was easy. Now that your little guard dog is down and out of the way, it's time to die wench." The dragon growled.
Kagome didn't hear a word he said. Her eyes welled up with tears. 'Is he... dead... He's not moving.' Rage quickly replaced the sadness, she looked up from Inuyasha to the dragon demon in front of her. He had a sickening grin plastered on his face, which only fueled her anger. Her eyes began to glow a pinkish white color, replacing her natural eye color and her powers started to visibly crackle around her as her anger grew.
"Oh what's the meaning of this? Trying to play hero? Do you really think that this is going to scare me?" He chuckled and stepped towards her.
Kagome didn't answer as a barrier formed around her, zapping him and throwing him backwards. Kagome smirked and walked towards him and each time she got close enough her barrier would zap him and send him flying once more.
The dragon groaned and grunted in pain and frustration. "What the hell? Where did this power come from? Do you know who I am? I'm guessing not. I'm Ryuu the Lord of the North and these mountians are mine."
"I could care less of who you are. You being a Lord doesn't give you the right to treat people this." Kagome preached causing him to snarl. "I thought that Lords, like you, had more honor than to attack bypassers that wasn't or hasn't done anything. You attacked us! Of course we're going to defend ourselves."
"Bullshit! I've had reports of a couple of travelers terrorizing and buring the villages, killing my people. Then I find you and your dog walking from one of the burnt villages. What am I supposed to think?"
"Do you hear yourself? Burnt, not burning. We saw the smoke and went to see if anyone needed help. One of the surviving villagers I healed told us their son came this way to get help a few days ago but hasn't returned. She asked us to try to find him. Our friends are still there to help the rest of the injured." Kagome explained.
"I've heard enough, time to die." Ryuu growled and charged her.
Kagome raised her arms and an energy bow appeared in her hands. She pulled back her free hand and a energy arrow formed. She took her aim and took a deep breath and let go.
"Ahhh..." Ryuu rawred as the arrow hit his leg and he went down.
Kagome walked towards him but stayed out of reach. "If I wanted to kill you, I would have." Before he could reply Kagome pushed her powers out and non lethally knocked him out. When she knew the dragon wasn't going to wake up she ran to Inuyasha's side. His midsection was covered in blood. "Inuyasha..." She carefully turned him over, tears rolled down her cheeks. She put her ear to his chest to listen for a heartbeat. "Oh thank god, you're still alive. Inuyasha can you hear me, please wake up." She cried.
"I'm awake... Just stop crying... It's not that... bad..." He coughed and tried to sit up and winced in pain.
"Stop. Just let me help you. But we nee to take care cover somewhere, so you can heal properly." Kagome sniffled.
"There's a small cave back the way we came, it's not far." Inuyasha breathlessly spoke.
Kagome nodded and helped him up and they made their way to the cave. It took about twenty minutes to get to the cave, taking small breaks for Inuyasha to catch his breath.
"We're lucky that I brought my bag with some of the bandages. I'll try to heal as much as I can but I know I can't heal you completely without me passing out."
"I'll be fine. I just need some rest." Inuyasha whispered.
Kagome knew he wasn't fine. 'He never wants to rest. We need to hurry.' The cave came into view and Kagome sighed in relief. "We're almost there. We'll get inside and get you laid down and get a fire going."
"Good, I'm getting cold. This wind feels like a thousand knives, stabbing me over and over." He groaned.
Kagome bit the inside of her cheek. He was shaking and it was starting to scare her. When they finally made it inside the cave she had him lean up against the cave wall. She pulled out a couple blankets, laying one of them one the ground for him to lay on. She went back and helped Inuyasha over and laid him down. "I need to open your shirt." Kagome's voice shook just like her hands as she grabbed ahold of the ties. When she pulled on the ties he winced in pain. "I'm so sorry... Let me try to heal you." She cried. When he didn't object she hovered her hands over his stomach. She closed her eyes and concentrated to center her powers to her hands. Her palms began to glow, she just hoped it was healing him.
After a few minutes of her hands glowing Inuyasha reached up and grabbed her wrist. "I'm ok now Kagome. You've healed me enough. Look, no hole. Thank you."
Kagome nodded. "I'm going to get wood to make a fire."
"You don't have to. There's some over there. Whoever used this cave before must have collected more for future visitors." Inuyasha said.
Kagome got up and quickly made a fire to warm them up. On her way back she stumbled and quickly recovered without Inuyasha noticing, then she sat back down beside him. "I was so scared that you were dead." She mumbled.
"Can't get rid of me that easily. Its just like when my prick of a half brother did the same thing. I couldn't let him hurt you. I had to protect you."
"Why? You always complain that you have to protect me. I've been trying to practicing and training when you're not around and when I can."
"I never mean it Kagome. I love when I have to protect you. It makes you notice me. You know I'm not good with words."
"What are you trying to say Inuyasha?" She asked, wanting to hear it from his mouth.
"Come on Kagome. I shouldn't have to say it. You should alread know." He said.
"But how can I know if you've never told me? I'm not a mind reader Inuyasha."
"Damn it Kagome. It's because I love you. That clear enough for you?" He blurted out and blushed immediately.
"You... Love... Me? But I thought I was just a replacement for Kikyo..." Kagome softly spoke.
"Kagome, she's dead. Yes I loved her. But that was in the past. You will never be a replacement. You are you, not Kikyo." He explained.
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Do you know how long I've waited to hear you say that?"
"I know. I'm sorry. I've tried so many times to tell you but I thought that when I told you, you'd laugh and reject me." He looked away.
"I would never do that to you. You have gone through that while growing up. It's not right." She told him. "Let's get you cleaned up." She stood up and a wave of dizziness washed over her and she fell back down unconscious.
"Kagome!" He shouted in concern. He carefully sat up to make sure she was ok. He smiled when he seen that she was ok. 'She used too much of her energy to save me. She'll be out for a couple days.' He pulled her close and covered them both and fell asleep.
When Kagome finally woke up she was laying on a bed mat in a hut. The hut was empty and quiet, except the crackling from the fire that was keeping the hut warm. She sat up and looked around, she noticed that items from her friends were sitting in the corner. 'Was it all just a dream?' She asked herself. She turned and stood to stretch.
"Oh you're finally awake. I'll go get Inuyasha." A woman she didn't recognize said.
A few minutes pass and Inuayasha burst through the door. "Finally you're awake. You've been asleep for three days. You had everyone worried." He said.
Kagome looked him over, it looked like nothing had happened. She sighed. "Must have been a dream." She mumbled.
Inuyasha's ear twitched. "What dream?" Inuyasha asked with confusion.
"I had this dream, we were all traveling and we seen a bunch of smoke in the air. This village was burnt down, we went to see if there was any survivors and helped with the injured but then one of the villagers asked if we could find their son. So Miroku and Sango stayed in the village while you and me went. Then while we were walking a dragon demon attacked us and you got injured really badly. To the point of death. Well I snapped and attacked back, I knocked him unconscious and then helped you to a cave. When we got there I helped you lay down and I healed you, then we were talking and you..." She stopped talking and blushed.
Inuyasha smirked. 'She thinks everything was a dream. I'm not going to let her forget that easily.' He moved closer to her. "I what Kagome?" He asked.
"O-Oh U-Uhhh... It was nothing. It was just a dream anyways." Kagome studdered.
Inuyasha moved closer and took ahold of her hand. "So my feelings for you are nothing?" He asked with a smirk.
"Your feelings? You mean that wasn't a dream?" She asked.
Inuyasha shook his head and leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her lips and pulled slightly away. "No it wasn't a dream. And if you have forgotten already, I love you Kagome."
Kagome's eyes widened. "I love you too Inuyasha." Happy tears flowed down her cheeks.
Inuyasha smiled and brought his hand up and brush her cheek, wiping her tears away. He rubbed his thumb over her cheek then slowly moved his hand to the back of her neck and gently pulled her closer and kissed her again. Her hands covered his chest and slowly moved up to around his neck. He went to deepen the kiss but was interrupted from a knock on the door. "Who is it? I had told everyone to not disturb us."
There was no answer but whoever it was continued to knock. Both Inuyasha and Kagome sighed and seperated and walked to the door. When they stepped out they couldn't believe who they saw. Inuyasha grabbed for his sword.
"I'm not here to hurt anyone. I'm here to apologize for the way I treated both of you. I assumed the worst and before I had any proof I attacked. It took her words to make me realize it. She could have easily killed me but she didn't. For that, I thank you." Ryuu said.
