"Hello what's your name? Mine's Tigerkit," she said to a gold tabby tom who looked a couple of moons older than her.
"My name's Lightningpaw," he said to the small brown tabby she-cat who had yellow eyes and gold spirals running through her fur, Lightningpaw was amazed by her, he had had flings from the other clans but this time he thought that she could be the one just like with Icepaw he thought bitterly.
"Would you like a tour of the camp Tigerkit?" Lightningpaw asked.
"Yes please Lightningpaw." Tigerkit replied.
"Ok then...here's the apprentices den." He said leading Tigerkit to the apprentices den.
"Can I look inside please." Tigerkit begged Lightningpaw couldn't resist, he nodded and waited outside for Tigerkit to come out.
Lets continue with the tour...here's the warriors den. No you can't go in there you have to wait till your a warrior." Lightningpaw said to a now disappointed Tigerkit.
"Over there's the leader's den. No you can't go in there either." He flicked his tail towards a den under highledge.
"Wow camp's so big! Thanks for showing me around Lightningpaw." Tigerkit said she tried to reared up onto her hind legs so she could but her head into Lightningpaw's shoulder but ended up losing her balance and tumbling into Lightningpaw, she looked embarrassed but to her delight Lightningpaw purred and he gave her a badger ride to the nursery by the time they got to the nursery he was panting so hard and breathlessly said.
"Wow you're so heavy. How many moons old are you?"
"Five I can't wait to be an apprentice and train with you." Tigerkit said.
"Oh well...um...that's just it we won't be apprentices together because even though I've only been training for a few moons Dawnstar thinks I'm ready to become a warrior." This was what he hadn't wanted to see, her face crumple into disappointment.
"But I might be your mentor." He desperately said just wanting her to cheer up.
"Whatever." Tigerkit said flatly and with that she went into the nursery her tail trailing on the floor like a piece of dead fresh kill I will cheer her up if it's the last thing that I do. He vowed to himself.
The next day after Lightning had done battle training he went to look for Tigerkit he found her by the entrance to the nursery.
"H-hi." Lightningpaw stuttered unsure if Tigerkit would snarl at him or be friendly.
"Hello." Tigerkit replied flatly.
"I'm sorry about what's happened." Lightningpaw said.
"It's ok, after all it's not your fault." Tigerkit murmured.
"Let all cats old enough to hunt for themselves gather beneath highledge for a clan meeting." Dawnstar yowled. She waited for the clan to gather round highledge.
"We have a new warrior to make today."
"Come forward Lightningpaw. Do you promise to up hold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?" Dawnstar asked Lightningpaw.
"I do." Lightningpaw said with such conviction that no one could doubt him.
"Then by the powers of Starclan, Lightningpaw, I now name you Lightningtail in honour of you lightning coloured tail we welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan." Dawnstar said she leant down and rested her muzzle on top of the newly named warrior Lightningtail's head and in return he licked her shoulder and then stepped back to join the rest off the clan.
"Lightningtail! Lightningtail! Lightningtail!" The clan cheered for him.
"Clan dismissed." Dawnstar said. She leapt down from highledge and padded over to Lightningtail who was rubbing noses with Tigerkit, just as she approached she saw them loosely twine their tails together. Dawnstar hid her smile showing just how amused she was well at least the clan will have some excitement once Tigerkit's older she thought.
"Hello. Lightningtail I just wanted you to know that you'll become a mentor tomorrow so be prepared." Dawnstar said.
"Oh ok. How come I'm getting an apprentice when there are plenty of older warriors who haven't had an apprentice?" Lightningtail asked confused.
"Oh you'll see why I'm giving the clan's newest warrior an apprentice tomorrow." Dawnstar mysteriously finished.
The next day.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath highledge for a clan meeting." Dawnstar yowled like before she waited for the clan to gather round her.
"We have a new apprentice to make today!" Dawnstar said.
"From this day forward until this cat earns her warrior name she shall be known as Tigerpaw. Lightningtail you were trained very well by Sunlight. I hope you pass on your skills to Tigerpaw but do not be afraid to turn to the senior warriors for advice." Dawnstar said. Tigerpaw bounded over to Lightningtail and they touched noses and very quietly so no one heard Lightningtail except Tigerpaw he said.
"I love you with everything I have." Tigerpaw was purring everyone thought it was because her new mentor had been trained by Sunlight, her mother.
"Tigerpaw! Tigerpaw! Tigerpaw!" The clan was cheering.
"Well what do you want to do first explore the territory practice hunting or start battle training?" Lightningtail asked.
"I don't mind, you choose." Tigerpaw said.
"Ok then. How about we explore the territory it's bound to be quite since it's a gathering tonight." Lightningtail said to Tigerpaw who was leaning on Lightningtail and very quietly he said so only Tigerpaw could hear and Dawnstar since she was right behind them.
"We'll get some alone time just you and me." Hansaid. Dawnstar was going to tell them that they were both going to the gathering and that Lightningtail had to stay with Tigerpaw at all times but she decided to let them go on a romantic stroll of the territory.
