A/N: Hey! I'm Greycell and this is my new story.
The original has been posted on RedemptiveCause394, an author on this site.
Not to worry though. I have taken this burden off of his hands and plan to continue his story. I will be posting irregularly, so don't leave the story thinking that it has been ABANDONED if I don't post for a year. For now...enjoy!
Chapter 2: A Joyous Journey-
The letter lay on his admittedly small cot as he thought of all the things that had happened that morning. He tried very hard to sleep. He, of course, could barely close his eyes.
A letter, from Hogwarts, kept him awake as he stared at it and wished for it to be true.
He craved for his family's love and would try his best not to be a freak. His uncle had repeatedly drilled it into his admittedly small head...Magic is not real.
He wished that he could have told this Professor McGonagall to come and prove to him that this letter was not some cruel prank. He would know about cruel pranks after all.
Crushing all his tiny little hopes had been a favourite activity of his Cousin.
Dudley the Dumb Whale.
What a waste of love and affection.
He still remembered the time when Dudley brought his friends over to the park and asked him to play with them. He felt so elated that he instantly agreed. He wanted friends.
All he got were Hunters.
Harry Hunting...Gosh he was so naive back when he was 7.
Not that he wasn't now.
It would be really stupid of him to not tell his uncle and get this prankster caught and, and, then what?
What if this Hogwarts place was real? What if he was indeed magical?
As these thoughts raced in his mind, dear readers, Harry Potter failed to notice that a new day had begun.
If he knew what this day would bring, he would never have chosen to do what he did the next day.
The next day,
"Uncle Vernon," our beloved hero started, to the giant man who was languidly draining tea from a mug that looked more like a small basin.
"Yes..." Came Vernon's reply. "Dudley is going to Smelting's soon and I will be going to Stonewall High?" He ended with a questioning tone.
"Get on with it boy. I don't have all day."
"Yes, well, I received a letter."
"A letter? Who would send you a letter?'
Harry noticed, from the corner of his eye, that Aunt Petunia had stopped cleaning the counter with a jerk. 'Odd', he wondered but kept his mouth shut.
"Someplace, Hogwarts it said."
Petunia dropped the fruit bowl she was holding above the kitchen counter with a clack.
Vernon's eyes widened to a comical degree.
"What! When was this boy? Why didn't you tell us earlier, I knew it Petunia. The boy is a freak! He is the devil himself! I tried to chase that, that thing away. Out of him! We raised him from the goodness of our hearts, gave him food off of our table, and he wants to go to that freak school of his! He will ruin our reputation!" Uncle Vernon bellowed, reminding Harry of an Elephant.
He kept that thought to himself as well. His uncle continued to rant and Aunt Petunia stood there and glared at him.
"It came yesterday...I'm sorry if I have done something wrong. I thought someone was pranking me or something. I wanted to know if you would scold whoever sent the letter."
Harry brought out the letter and gave it to his uncle with shaking hands.
"Hahahahaha! Yes. A prank. Indeed. Pet, a prank, of course. Go to your room boy!"
Harry complied sincerely.
His uncle would catch the perpetrator of this cruel prank.
He might even praise him for catching such a vile person, who would dare to prank such an upstanding family.
Harry had forgotten about Vernon's rant. He gave no thought to whether his uncle was being truthful with him.
Why wouldn't he be? He gave him food off of their tab.....Oh Shit!
A/N: Sorry for the previous post where the site did something to the text.
It was a pain to remove that and make it alright again. Please leave a review.
