Oliver and Zee met during their last year of middle school in Metropolis Middle School.

They had acted in the same play, neither could really remember which, though Oliver kind of remembered that it was Shakespeare.

At first they had admired the passion the other had for theater and got along well, then when Zatanna outshined Ollie.

Oliver couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Zatanna (or Zee as she asked everyone to call her nowadays) during their first day of high school.

For her part Zee had already forgotten about Ollie (now Oliver) as she had met many people during the summer before and never bothered on remembering faces or names.

Sometimes they would cross paths during drama club meetings but they never really interacted.

Then they were Tristan and Isolde at a play, he quite enjoyed the experience but he had hated her dramatics during the rehearsals and after that.

Then they started a friendlish rivalry, mostly on Oliver's side as Zee wouldn't remember about him most of the time.

For a reason, Oliver would try to get her attention. He didn't like her and most of the time he would like to yell at her to shut up.

Zee also enjoyed his attetion even if she wanted to banish him to the 27th dimension.

"Bland and overly dramatic" Were the words they would use to describe each other.

Still they had to admit to their shame that they had enjoyed rehearsing Zee's play together until the thing with Morty.

Then he had to bond with the dark haired actor by trashing Zee's work. Obviously the magician had got angry at him and banned him from her next works and kicked him out of the drama club.

"You can't do this to me!" He yelled at her during their free period.

Both usually hung out in the school's yard with their friends, who at the moment were ignoring the drama.

"If I'm so unimaginative then you can direct your own play" She said while looking at her nails"

"But...there are is only one drama club at this school!"

"Really? I hadn't noticed" She said with a smirk.

They were silent for a moment and when she was about to leave but Oliver said while rolling his eyes "Your direction is not so bad"

"You just want to have a role"

"Yeah" He admitted looking at his shoes "But I have worked with worse directors and you are not so bad"

Zee analyzed him for a few seconds then she said after sighing "Auditions are this Friday during free period"

"Do I have to audition?!" He said dramatically.

"I can't give you a role without audition" She said.

"I always have the lead role!"

"There are other actors at this school"

"No one is a good as me!"

"Also you have not apologized for ruining my play"

"I saved your life"

"Morty wasn't going to kill me"

"He shot a cannonball at you"

"It wasn't a real one"

They locked eyes while crossing their arms. Their friends rolled their eyes at their antics.

"Just kiss already" Barbie said while passing by.

They huffed at the same time and left for their next class.

Still at the end of the school day, Oliver just decided to "apologize" to Zee by buying her a muffin at Sweet Justice.

Zee accepted the "apology" by accepting Oliver back at the drama club.

Morty considered himself as the cupid between the two.

But according to them, they weren't a couple they just had a rivalry and a bit of admiration towards each other's acting skills.
