Chapter 5:

A/N: Hey so I re-read my chapters and caught a contradiction. To clear things up, Tom and Sarah know that Hermione is their daughter, they do not know where she is at this moment due to her magic being suppressed and they do not have access to Hogwarts student addresses.

Night had fallen on the Granger household and thankfully it was one of the rare nights where the house was as silent as a sneaky mouse. Hermione had already tucked Piper into bed, after literally tearing the toddler away from the tv. It was an experience that made the teen witch make a mental note to take the toddler to the library more often this summer.

Hermione sat at the kitchen counter and pulled out, 'Advance Ancient Runes Agate Crystals' and finally started the first chapter.

'Chapter 1: The basics

To understand Ancient Runes through Agate Crystals, let's take another look at the basics. Write each rune out on a piece of parchment with about 3 inches between each of them. Then write the corresponding number to each rune. Lastly make sure you have an Agate Crystal at hand. I'll tell you want to do with it afterwards.

The Demiguise's invisibility stands in for'0'. The Unicorn's horn stands in for '1'. The Graphorn's dual horn's stands in for '2'. The Runespoor's triple head stands for '3'. The Fwooper's four different color feathers stands in for '4'. The Quintaped's five legs stands in for '5'. The Salamander's life span in hours when out of fire and their amount of legs stands in for '6'. The Unknown, meaning the lack of knowledge, stands in for the mysterious number '7'. Acromantula with its eight eyes, stands for '8'. And lastly the Hydra's nine heads stands for '9'.

Now that you have written everything out, take a small Agate crystal and hold it over each rune and make sure not to fuel the stone with too much magic. Write down what you see on a seperate piece of parchment.'

Hermione quickly picked up the agate crystal she had sitting in front of her and took a deep breath, slowly filling the crystal with magic. After a moment Hermione cut off her magic and placed the crystal over the Demiguise (0) rune. Just like the book, the rune absorbed the crystal and began to change shape. It had turned into the Hydra (9) rune.

The teen witch raised an eyebrow, before repeating the steps with the rest of the runes. The Unicorn (1) turned into the Acromantula (8). The Graphcorn (2) had changed to the Unknown (7). The Runespoor (3)had changed to the Salamander (6). And the Fwooper (4) had turned into the Quintaped (5).

Hermione looked over the piece of parchment for what felt like the fifth time of writing it down. These represented creatures were not physically and though she did not know the genetics of the creatures, the possibility of these creatures meeting each other was highly unlikely and highly dangerous.

Hermione, convinced she had done something wrong, went back to the book, knowing that the book was going to laugh at her attempt. Which it most certainly did.

So, what did you find? If you did the procedure right you should have gotten;

The Demiguise (0) changed into the Hydra (9). The Unicorn (1) turned into the Acromantula (8). The Graphcorn (2) had changed to the Unknown (7). The Runespoor (3)had changed to the Salamander (6). And the Fwooper (4) had turned into the Quintaped (5).

Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense. Whether your muggle born half blood or pure blood, we can all agree that these creatures have nothing physical in common. However, what if I were to say they had a connection through magic!

In ancient times, early witches and wizards were able to SEE magic. They even had methods to teach the young how to see this magic. There are many books that support this claim, sadly they are locked away either by the Ministry and the higher ranking Pureblood families, Dumbledore being one of them. I was able to read some sections of those books and they confirmed my hypothesis. The ancient witches and wizards were so in tune with their magic, that they could see the magic in other creatures and how they were connected.

Hermione stopped reading for a moment. A mixture of emotions filled the teen. Excitement came first, then anger, and finally curiosity. The excitement came from the knowledge of the ability to see magic, the anger was directed at the Ministry and those high ranking pure bloods. The curiosity was also centered around Dumbledore, the witch wondering if she could convince the Headmaster to lend her the book. If she could someone connect it to helping the Light Side win the war, she was sure it would work

Malfoy Manor Library:

Sarah was sitting down by the fireplace and seemed to be quietly reading a book. But to Tom, he knew what she was really doing. The way her eyes jumped with joy as she flipped through the pages of the boring book. Tom sat down next to his wife lazily staring at her, until she turned her head.

"What is it like seeing magic?" Tom asked as he reached for her hand.

"You know what it is like." She replied to her husband.

"I knew what it was like. Until Severus is done with his mission, I need you to be my eyes." Both of them chuckled.

"So you gathered the rest of them? I would only have to call back the one embedded inside the Potter boy?" Sarah asked after closing the book and standing from her chair.

"Yes, everything is taken care of on my end. But you still have not answered my question my dear." Tom stood up as well, looking right in his wife's eyes.

Sarah just smirked. "How are the other assignments going? I know that you get daily reports."

Tom frowned and made his eyes glow bright red in an act of intimidation. "You are being very uncooperative."

"Oh please, Tom when was the last time you were able to intimidate me? Plus I really can't take you serious with your snake face. How our followers fear you so much is a mystery to me." Sarah said as she tried to hold back her laughter but it slipped out in the end.

"Oh really, you are going to take most of those words back, when I regain my original form." Tom said as he dimmed his eyes and smirked.

"Only most?" Sarah said as she turned around and threw the book into the air. The two of them watched as the book flew back to its original placement.

Before Tom could reply, there was a knock on the library door. The Dark Lord sighed, irritated that they had to end their little game. Sarah and Tom sat back down in their seats, pulling out random books from the shelves. With a wave of his hand, Tom wandlessly opened the door.

On the other side was Lucius Malfoy and Theadore Nott Sr. , standing there in their Death Eater robes and their masks in their hands. They walked into the library in tandem and after a few steps kneeled before their Lord and Lady.

"Why have you distrusted our peace?" Sarah asked as she closed the book in her hands with a loud snap, causing the two Death Eaters to jump slightly.

"We have found the location of the Granger girl. When do you wish to begin the raid?" Lucius said keeping his eyes trained on their feet.

"My dear, I don't remember agreeing to raiding the Granger house, do you?" Sarah asked Tom as she glared at Lucius.

"No I can't recall that even being brought up." Tom replied.

"Then how is it Lucius here, believed that we were preparing a raid? It seems as if he thinks he knows the full extent of our plans." Sarah said as she stood and took a few steps closer to Lucius. "Do you know the full extent of our plans, Lucius?"

The blonde man moved his eyes to the library floor and took a notice le gulp. "I do not know the full extent of your plans, my Lady. I only assumed that since she was a Mudblood, a raid was the next step."

The next thing Lucius felt was absolute pain. There was no utterance of the Cruciatus carnation, no wave of the hand or wand. The loud screams flooded the library and trickled out into the hall.

What was only 2 minutes, felt like an eternity for Lucius. Sarah canceled the curse and grabbed Lucius by the jaw and raised him to his feet. She could tell he was not really paying attention. Sarah dropped the blonde man to the floor and looked over to Theadore Sr, growling at his shaking form.

"Take him to his wife and let this be a warning to you and the others. No one will call Hermione Granger a Mudblood again!"

As Nott began to levitate Malfoy, Tom spoke. "Before you go, do tell us, where is Ms. Granger residing?"
