But I want to give a huge thanks to Emperor Vanquest for giving me some good ideas on where to take this. I promise to have a super long super fucking awesome update by the end of this week for all of you wonderful loyal readers. And I promise I will make sure it is long.

For now, enjoy this little something new while I get your much deserved long chapter out.

Percy glares grumpily down at his, admittedly delicious, blueberry pancakes. Today was the day that he and Hadrian had to head back to camp. Which sucks. Percy had learned so much over the months that he was with Hadrian. A lot more than he had learned while at Camp Half-Blood. Not to say that that was entirely the Camp's fault. There was many new demigods coming forward every year. And it was starting to piss Percy off when he realized that over half were living in the Hermes cabin because their immortal parent wouldn't claim them.

"Hadrian."

Hadrian, who had been twirling his spoon through his tea morosely, glances up at his irate mate. "Yes Percy?"

"Things are going to have to change. It is not fair to all these new demigods to be forced into Hermes cabin just because their parent won't claim them. It's wrong!" Percy ends his rant by slamming his fist down onto the table, cursing when the small syrup cup falls over spreading its icky gooeyness onto his hand. "Ugh!"

Smiling at Percy's enthusiasm, as well as his clumsiness, Hadrian elegantly waves his hand clearing up the mess.

Crossing his ankles, Hadrian leans against the table with his hands entwined underneath his chin. "While I agree with your statement, what made you think of it?"

Pushing his tanned hand roughly through his black hair, Percy sighs heavily. "Luke."

Cocking his head to the side, Hadrian gestures for Percy to continue.

"It's just… If Hermes and the other gods would have been there more for their kids, and I'm talking at least wrote them a letter or came on their birthdays, then maybe Luke wouldn't have thought that all of the gods were bad. I mean, you're not bad." Percy tiredly rubs his eyes. He just didn't understand why the gods couldn't make an effort. Poseidon had explained it to him, but he just didn't get it.

"Almost none of the other gods are like me Perce. Besides me, Artemis and Hera are the only other ones that has never had a child. Artemis has her Hunters of Artemis, but she has never actually had a child. Hera is the goddess of marriage and loyalty. Even Athena, the second virgin goddess has had children."

Percy eyes Hadrian shrewdly. "And where are you going with this?"

Hadrian rubs his temples, trying to think of the best way to put this. "Poseidon told you already that because of him the rule to have nothing to do with your demigod children was put in place, and that is an excuse a lot of gods use to not have a part of their kid's lives. However, even before that rule was made, a lot of gods did not have a role with their children. I believe this is because most gods do not think of the consequences of their actions when they are engaging in an affair with a mortal. The only god I truly know that at least attempts to take an active role in their child's lives is, sadly, Ares." Hadrian takes a sip of tea, allowing Percy to digest this information. "I believe that in order for anything to change in the near future, Uncle Zeus will have to make a decree that states all demigod children must be claimed and their immortal parent at least must be somewhat active in their lives. Otherwise people like Luke will continue to pop up."

Percy nods slowly along with Hadrian's words. Though it left a sour taste in his mouth to know that out of all the gods it was Ares that tried to get to know his children. "That's why Clarisse has that electric spear."

"Ah yes, Clarisse La Rue. She is a hardy little brat, huh?"

Percy snorts. "She tried to give me a swirly!"

Smirking, Hadrian pats his mate's hand gently. "Do you want me to get back at her when we get to camp?"

Percy laughs. "Oh gods yes. I would love to see the look on her face." Tapping his chin in thought, sea foam green eyes stare quizzically into beautiful tri-colored ones. "I think it should also be made a law that more cabins be built. Right now we only have thirteen, enough for all the major gods. But what about the demigod children who has a lesser god parent? That's still not fair."

Hadrian nods his head in agreement. Their conversation is put on hold however, when a bell rings across the castle, alerting the two that they need to head back to Camp.

Percy groans. "I guess it is time to leave, huh?"

Grinning at his younger mate, Hadrian stands from the table and gives him a quick hug. "Yes, but we can come back whenever you want to."

Percy beams at Hadrian, before heading towards his room to get his bags. They agreed that Hadrian would transport them back to camp.

Stepping out of a shadow, Percy shivers slightly. "That is not my favorite means of transportation." Percy glances over at Hadrian, who is staring sadly at a pine tree. "What's wrong, 'Rian?"

Turning from his spot next to the majestic pine, Hadrian grabs Percy's hand before gently placing it onto the bark. "Do you feel that?"

Percy felt his breath catch. The tree felt like it was thrumming underneath his fingers. Spreading his fingers out over the bark, Percy feels a shiver go through his body at the warmth pulsing into him. "What…?"

"This is Thalia."

Hearing the soft pain echo through his mate's voice, Percy gently tugs the petite god under his arm. "Thalia?"

Nodding, Hadrian gently strokes the pine, sending soft pulses of nature magic throughout his fingers.

"Yes, she was the demigod daughter of Uncle Zeus."

"Then why is she a tree?"

Hadrian sighs. "You already know about the pact of The Big Three. They promised not to sire anymore demigod children because their children were too strong. Well, a few years ago it was found out that Uncle Zeus broke that pact. When my father found out he was furious. He felt betrayed. The Pact was supposed to be sacred. So he sent monsters after her. Approaching Camp Half-Blood if memory serves correct a group of cyclops was chasing the quartet."

"Quartet?" Percy interrupts.

"Yes. Thalia, Luke, Annabeth and Grover. They had almost made it to camp when the cyclops caught up to them. Thalia urged the trio to go ahead without her, she said that she could hold the cyclops off. She was going to die. However before she could, Uncle Zeus sent down a lightning bolt, transforming her into this pine tree as well as creating the barrier around the camp."

Percy squeezes his mate tightly against his body, sensing the need for closeness from the smaller male.

Hadrian, feeling his eyes begin to water, gently wipes at them. "I just wish there was something I could have done for her. I don't know why. I just feel like her story isn't completed yet. Like she had so much more to do."

Turning away from the tree, Hadrian fully submerses himself into Percy's arms. Relaxing into the strong warm arms, Hadrian listens to the soft chirping of the birds as they fly by.

"It will get better, I promise. Even if we have to come visit Thalia every day."

Laughing at Percy's words, Hadrian gives him one last squeeze. "Yes, but in order to do that, we have to go face the music."

Snorting, Percy gazes towards where the camp is located. "I cannot wait to see the look on Mr. D's face."

Hadrian only grins mischievously.
