Walking hand in hand down the steep hill towards Camp Half-Blood Percy wonders on how his life had changed in the past several months. When he first arrived at Camp Half-Blood many people had scorned him because he was already seventeen and just arriving at the camp. To them it meant that his smell was not as powerful, making them jump to the conclusion that he was weak. A target. However, after Poseidon had claimed him everyone started treating him with respect. They would nod their heads and avert their eyes to the ground in a submissive gesture. It vexed Percy to no end. The only people that did not do it was the kids from the Athena and Ares cabins.
Percy was also forced to sit at the table reserved for the children of The Big Three by himself. He felt lonely and isolated, the feeling not dissipating at the callous off hand jokes Mr. D would make about him.
But that all changed when Hadrian came to camp. The other male was also a child of one of the Big Three. Hades. Percy shivers slightly, sending Hadrian a small smile when the other glances over in concern.
Hades. That god made Percy want to bend on his knees in the dark throne room and worship the Lord of the Dead. He felt ancient and powerful. When he and Hadrian had entered the throne room, the icy blast of Hades' powers was enough to cause Percy to want to faint. He was saved from that humiliation however when Hadrian had glared the other god into submission. Finding out his boyfriend was a god, now that was an experience. Percy had felt so many emotions rush through him; hurt, fear, anger. Why hadn't Hadrian told him? Did he think he didn't deserve to know? That Percy was too weak? But then his beautiful best friend had explained everything to him. And Percy's initial emotions had faded, being replaced by hope, joy, acceptance.
When they had arrived on Olympus, Percy was nervous. He was only a demigod walking into the home of some of the most powerful creatures to exist. Immortal beings that could not be killed or die, they could only fade. He took in all the sprawling cathedrals and temples in with a calm eye. The beauty of Olympus was truly extraordinary. The rolling clouds and endless majestic gardens were truly a sight to behold.
And when Hadrian had finally entered the meeting rom for the Big Twelve? He almost cried when he met Zeus. The ruler of Olympus had grilled him on several topics. He wanted to know his favorite color, green, his favorite food, his mom's homemade blue cookies, he even wanted to know if Percy was a virgin or not, yes because people didn't want to even talk to the freak that made by grades, couldn't sit still, and seemingly couldn't read. Zeus had finally stopped his interrogation, and he must have seen something he liked, because he shared a smile with Hadrian before moving onto other topics. Namely if Hadrian had pranked any of the demigods at camp. This had surprised Percy because when they were at camp Hadrian had seemed quiet and withdrawn unless he was around him.
Apparently Hadrian had convinced the garden snakes to sneak into the Aphrodite Cabin and scare the inhabitants to near death. Percy was wondering how those snakes got in there, but no one had owned up to the prank. But it did cause Percy to laugh in remembrance and Zeus to laugh at the chaos it had caused.
When Ares had suffocated Percy with his powers, Percy thought he was going to be a permanent visitor in the Underworld. But when the pressure was relieved, Percy was surprised to see his usually docile mate in his god form. He was surprised that he wasn't turned to ash though he later found out it was because Hadrian was his true mate thus allowing him to see the true form of the god.
He was shocked to learn that his seemingly polite, shy, quiet, gentle boyfriend was actually the god of destruction, chaos, and redemption. And that he also apparently held the title of Destroyer of Worlds. Though Percy would admit to being slightly turned on by Hadrian's god form, the power he exuded as well as how thoroughly he had wiped the floor with Ares. He still blushed when he remembered the knowing look Aphrodite had sent him.
And after all the drama was over and Percy actually got to talk with his father… that was awkward.
"Hello young Percy. I am glad that I finally get to meet you." Poseidon's dark green, at the moment, eyes scan over Percy, drinking in his form.
Scratching the back of his head in a display of nerves, Percy sits down on the marble steps. They were surprisingly warm. "It is nice to finally get to meet you also, da- … I mean, uh… Poseidon."
Poseidon, who was beginning to actually feel nervous, beamed at his youngest son. "It is okay to call me dad, Percy. It is what I am."
Sitting next to his only demigod son, both dark haired men gaze off into the clear blue skies of Olympus.
"So…" Poseidon coughs, wracking his brain for any subject to talk about. He wanted to know all he could about his son. "I see that you and Apolysis are close."
Cocking his head to the side, Percy frowns in confusion before understand dawns in his sea foam eyes. "You mean Hadrian? Yeah, he was pretending to be the demigod son Hades because he wanted to get to know me without the whole 'god' thing getting in the way."
"That… makes a lot of sense. So you really like him?"
Shrugging, Percy bites on his thumb nail. A habit he picked up from his mother in stressful situations "Yeah I mean I liked him from pretty much the first moment I met him. He's funny, sweet, down to Earth, and so much more. Plus, he is my true mate. Whatever that means."
Chocking on a gasped in breath, Poseidon struggles to regain air. "T-true mate?!"
Percy shrugs. "Yeah it's what he called it when we were in his father's castle."
Regaining his bearings, the sea god can only shake his head, the gentle breeze playing with the strands of hair sticking out haphazardly. "You never do anything by halves, do you?"
Grinning at his father, Percy nods in agreement causing Poseidon to groan. "Fine. But I still want to formally meet 'Hadrian' as soon as we are both free."
Weighing the pros and cons, Percy eventually agrees. He'd just make sure to be very busy in the near future. He had a feeling those two would end up butting heads.
Breaking out of his reminiscence, Percy grips Hadrian's hand tighter.
"You seemed pretty deep in thought there Perce. Is something bothering you?"
Smiling at the god's honest concern, Percy sweeps the smaller male into tight hug. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you."
Laughing in delight, the blackette returns the hug just as fiercely. "It's me that is lucky to have you."
Sea foam green eyes gaze into beautiful emerald flecked with black and encircled purple. Percy whispers a husky, "I think we are both lucky to have each other." Before gently capturing the petite god's pouty lips in a gentle kiss. "And I wouldn't have it any other way."
Arriving at the Big House, the duo smiles when they see their favorite centaur sitting on the porch idly drinking his tea. Twin calls of "Chiron" break the tranquil scene.
The kindly centaur glances up upon hearing the shouts of his two star trainees. "Percy, Hadrian. I am glad you two are back and in one piece."
Smiling at the two, Chiron finally notices the entwined hands. Cocking an eyebrow, the immortal trainer beams. "Finally got together, humm?"
The two blubber in unison causing Chiron to guffaw at the two. "Everyone knew you two liked each other. It was just a bet on when you two would actually end up together. I bet during your first quest. I'm pleased to see I won." Winking, the centaur gestures for the two to come closer. Once the duo was in reach, Chiron grabbed the two into a tight hug. "I am glad you two are safe."
Percy feels tears form in his eyes. He had always thought of Chiron as a familial figure in his life. The older man was there all throughout Percy's middle and high school years. The two had grown close.
Hadrian had never had anyone in his life besides his parents and now Percy treat him like this. While he was still Harry Potter many people clamored to him trying to impress him into being their friends. All those people only wanted to use him though. The two key examples being Ron and Hermione. He could sense their manipulation and greed from the first time they approached him. They only wanted the fame and power that came with befriending him. Too bad the young god didn't much care for liars. Even his trainers didn't show affection towards him, they deemed it a weakness.
The duo tighten their embraces around the half horse.
Breaking the embrace, Chiron critically eyes the two over. "I am surprised that you didn't come right back here after everything was over with. What happened?"
Both dark haired boys sheepishly scratch the back of their heads. "Well, you see…"
By the time the story is done, Chiron is slack jawed and in awe. To think he had given lessons to such a powerful god. Oh, he manically chuckled, he couldn't wait till Dionysus found it.
Entering the dinning pavilion around lunch time, Percy and Hadrian claim their normal spots at their table. Getting up to scoop some offering into the blazing fire, Hadrian smiles kindly at Hestia. Percy, noticing his mate's gaze, follows his line of sight until he too sees the goddess of the hearth in the brightly shinning fire; though he feels surprised he also smiles towards the motherly goddess.
Sitting back down, the duo begin to eat their lunches in silence. The gossip around camp was running rampant. It went from the two being abducted and tortured by Zeus, to them fighting for their lives in a weird reality where bunnies ruled supreme, to actually hitting closer to him in that the two had eloped and were living out their honey moon somewhere. This caused the two endless mirth and vexation.
"So, my heroic bunny fighting husband, what do you have planned for today?"
Throwing a fry across the wooden table towards the chuckling black haired male, Percy shrugs. "I don't really know. Maybe practice some more with Riptide? I think practicing against Savitar proved that I sort of suck."
Snorting, Hadrian tosses the fry, which he had deftly caught, back towards his demigod. "Don't feel bad. It took me centuries before I even stood a chance against him. And another couple for me to actually beat him."
Nodding his head, Percy's eyes gleam with excitement. "I still think it's cool that you are a-"
"Percy!" Chiron's voice cuts through Percy's sentence causing the two to glance towards the centaur galloping towards them.
"Whatsup Chiron?" Percy questions.
Tail flicking behind him in nervousness, the centaur stomps his front left foot into the ground quietly. "I have someone I want you to meet."
"Who?"
"Well you see… he is your brother."
Percy's eyes widen I shock. "My brother? I have a brother?"
Nodding his head, Chiron gestures behind them, causing a large figure to emerge from his hiding spot and walk up to them.
"This is Tyson."
The shaggy haired cyclops waves enthusiastically at Percy. "Hi brother!"
Percy gaps. A brother? A cyclops brother? Cyclops? Wait… what?
"What is going on right now?" Hadrian, sensing the hysterics forming, places a hand on Percy's knee and gently begins to massage it.
"Hello Tyson. Please excuse my boyfriend, he is in quit a shock. My name is Hadrian and this is Percy. It is wonderful to meet you."
Tyson, who had began to feel sad at his brother's freak out, instantly perked up. "Hi Hadrian! My father sent me here to meet Percy. He thought it would be a good idea for the two of us to meet and get to know each other." Energetically bouncing towards the dark haired duo, the cyclops plops down on the bench next to Percy. "Hi brother!"
Percy, who was just coming out of his shock, weakly waves at the hyper creature, before sending pleading eyes towards Chiron. The centaur coughs awkwardly. "Well, I will just leave you three to get to know each other. I have paper work that I must get done. You know where to find me if you need me." Tactfully retreating, Chiron ignores the muttered 'traitor' from the demigod son of Poseidon.
Finally getting over his shock, Percy turns to Tyson. "I've always wanted a brother."
Tyson beams in absolute happiness. This was so much better than he had ever hoped for. He thought he would have to prove himself to Percy. To try to show the demigod that he was not a monster even though he was a cyclops. He didn't know that he could have Hadrian to thank for Percy's accepting attitude. Hadrian was after all the god of all magical creatures. Not one of his most well know partridges, but whatever.
Babbling an hour a minute, Hadrian and Percy share an amused look across Tyson.
They were content to sit and listen to the younger male talk, but their peaceful lull was broken when a furious roar was heard.
"What was that?" Percy asks, grabbing Riptide and standing.
"If it what I think it is, I am going to have some serious words with my uncle." Hadrian replies standing too. Though he does not draw a weapon. He wants to see how Percy can stand against one of Hephaestus' inventions.
A gigantic golden bull jumps from their trees and over their heads. Its impressive bulk causing a small wall of sand to rise around it.
"A Colchis bull." Percy gasps.
Not wasting another second, the young demigod jumps into battle.
Hadrian, Tyson, Annabeth, Percy, Chiron, and a bunch of other campers were gathered around Thalia's tree. The rampaging bull had smacked into it, causing a large chunk to be torn from the middle, it was a miracle it was still standing.
"What are we going to do?" Annabeth's voice echoes around the dense forest, the depressed atmosphere causing the birds to quit singing.
"We have to save the tree somehow."
Annabeth's grey eyes narrow. "Of course you seaweed brain. But how?"
Percy sneers. "I know this, but what do you propose wise girl?"
Grey eyes spitting steal, Annabeth turns back to the creaking tree. She felt helpless. She didn't know what could save the tree.
"The golden fleece." Hadrian's voice cuts through the quietly whispering crowd.
"That is… a surprisingly good idea. The fleece can heal anything."
The son of Poseidon smiles at his genius mate.
"It will be a quest. Lets all head back to camp to get everything figured out and sorted."
The campers all nod along to Chiron's words.
Sitting on benches around the blazing campfire, the group of demigods watch as Dionysus walks into the middle of the gathering.
"I know all of you have gathered here in hopes of being the ones to go on the quest to gather the golden fleece and save Thalia's tree, however I have chosen a group of three people who I truly believe can handle the responsibility this will require. They have already proven themselves worthy. It was even their idea to go after the fleece." Dionysus pauses for dramatic effect. "The group is Clarisse, Annabeth, and Bronze."
Percy feels rage course through him. Quickly standing the demigod glares at the god of wine. "What do you mean their idea? It was Hadrian who thought of using the golden fleece. If anything it should be him going on the quest!"
The portly god glares at the young half-blood. That little brat was a thorn in his side. If Poseidon wasn't the brat's dad he would have already sent his mind into insanity. As it was, he could maybe get away with teasing a little madness.
"Oh yeah? And who are you to tell me what to do?" Glaring into the sea foam eyes, Dionysus manipulates his powers so that Percy begins to see his own worst nightmares.
Hadrian, feeling what Dionysus is doing, jerks to his feet. "You will cease this Dionysus."
Mr. D's red eyes cut from Percy's and turns towards Hades' brat. "And what can you, a stupid weak little demigod, do to stop me?"
Releasing his powers directly onto the wine god, though the campers can feel it too to a lesser degree, Hadrian stalks towards the shaking portly god. "I am no demigod, son of Zeus. I am Apolysis, The Destroyer of Worlds. God of Chaos, Destruction, and Redemption. I am a Chthonian Godkiller. I am the son of Hades, Hecate, and Persephone. You are nothing to me, puny god."
Mr. D feels tears run down his face. his heart is pounding in his chest and he could feel his death calling. He thought the Chthonians had all moved to a new universe, but here was one right in front of him. The power Apolysis was exerting caused Dionysus to slightly lose control of his bladder, not enough to be noticeable to anyone but the two gods. Apolysis' acidic green tri colored eyes glare maliciously down towards the cowering bug eyed god.
"If you ever try that on my mate, or any demigod here, I will show you why my race is so feared."
Drawing his hand back, Hadrian harshly slaps the other god across his rounded face. Mr. D winces. Not only was it a painful blow, it was also humiliating.
"Your father punished you with a hundred years of no alcohol and the duty of watching this camp. I have also punished you. You were bare my hand print across your face in shame until the day that you have proven yourself to me. Only then will I allow it to fade. Do you understand?"
Dionysus bowed his head. "Yes my lord."
Sneering down at the pathetic figure, Hadrian walks towards his mate, gently running his hand over Percy's soft hair, healing any damage done. Smiling at Percy, Hadrian turns back towards the still kneeling god. "Percy and I will be going on this quest. I intend to make up for the wrong doings my father has done against Thalia. Is that understood?"
Mr. D nods again. "Of course my lord."
"Good, then Percy and I will pack our things and then head out." Pausing in his speech, Hadrian turns to Tyson. "You can come with us if you would like. It will be difficult but it will give you the chance to get to know your brother."
Locking arms with Percy, the duo begin their walk back towards their cabins, ignoring the shell shocked campers and still cowering god.
Percy, in this safety of Cabin 3, gives Hadrian an awed look.
"That was fucking awesome."
That's all folks! Let me know if you would like Tyson to go along with P&H on their quest as well as anything you would like to happen to them. Don't worry, Hadrian won't do this quest for him. Percy is still going to have to be the leader and do the most stuff and make all the decisions. Hadrian is going to be there to make sure he doesn't get killed. Oh! And if no one comments about wanting Tyson to go I'm going to have him remain at camp. That way I can further P&H's relationship... If you know what I mean. Anyways, tootles my loves!
