Annabeth's grey eyes glare balefully after the trio. Percy, Hadrian, and Tyson were leaving on their quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece. A quest that should be hers! Thalia was her friend. She personally knew Thalia. She traveled with the daughter of Zeus. She was one of three that Thalia had sacrificed her life for. She owed it to the other to be the one to bring the Fleece back to her.
Twisting on her foot, the blonde slams her fist into the tree behind her, cursing when she feels her knuckles pop. Growling Annabeth attempts to flex her fingers, wincing slightly when the bleeding appendages sear in pain.
Snorting, the daughter of Athena casts one last resentful look towards the three, growling when she realizes they are already out of sight. If it wasn't for that damned Hadrian that would be her going on this quest with Percy! Percy would like her instead. And she could coyly play hard to get while the sea demigod did whatever she asked in a bid to earn her love and approval.
Making her way towards the Big House for something to heal her hand with, Annabeth's genius mind begins to whirl. Just because Percy got the quest, didn't mean she couldn't still convince Clarisse to go with her anyways. The bull headed daughter of Ares would be an easy one to convince.
It did not faze her that Hadrian was a god. In her arrogance she discarded this fact.
Tyson eagerly bounces alongside his brother and the god that was his mate.
"I am so glad you let me come on this quest with you!" Tyson exclaims for the third time since they left.
Hadrian, who could see the annoyance mounting in his boyfriend, claps the cyclops' shoulder. "Tyson, of course we would let you come with us. You might have just met Percy but you are still his brother. And any family of Percy's is family of mine."
Tyson's big brown eye wells with tears. "Even though I'm a monster?"
Percy, who could finally see what was bothering the other son of Poseidon, playfully bumps shoulders with the larger male.
"It doesn't bother me, or Hadrian for that matter, that you are a cyclops. Maybe if I didn't have Hadrian with me to begin with explaining magical creatures I would have had a completely different reaction to you, but only because I am so used to being attacked by any creature I have come across because of my blood." Here Percy shoots his boyfriend a wink. "But Hadrian is also the god of magical creatures, so it would be hypocritical of me to have a problem with you. Plus, you are family."
Tyson felt joy bubble in his gut. His father had warned him that Percy might not be the most accepting at first, but here was his brother breaking all pre conceived notions about him. Hadrian was truly a good influence on his human brother.
Pivoting on his heel, the cyclops glomps the god in a tight hug, tears of happiness rolling from his eye. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Stroking the curly brown hair, which was surprisingly soft, Hadrian hums softly. "Of course Tyson."
Percy, who was watching the scene approvingly, flickers his sea foam eyes towards the edge of the forest. "Now we just have to figure out how to find and get to the Fleece."
Tyson beams. He could be helpful! "Well, most people think that only a centaur can find the Fleece, but a cyclops can too. Polyphemus guards the Fleece. But we will only have to call for a hippocampus to take us if it involves going across the ocean!"
"Well then, what are we waiting for?"
Dionysus sits in his room at the camp. In his mind he was replaying the scene with Hadrian over and over again. He seriously cannot believe that that puny little runt was a god. And not just a god. A Chthonian Godkiller. Literally one of the only beings in the universe that could kill a god without it negatively affecting the world they were residing on.
Glowering at the wine glass holding nothing but mere coke, Dionysus scowls. That little brat had three parents. Some of the most powerful god parents he could get. Hecate was known for producing powerful children, her fucking demigods could control the mist for gods sake. And now not only is she his mother, but Persephone and Hades too?
"Fuck me." The wine god whines to himself. No that he would admit to whining. It was something plebian that humans do.
Closing his eyes and letting his senses spread across the camp, the purple eyed god grins.
"My, my, my… What do we have here? Two little demigods and their pet satyr leaving on a quest the godling claimed for himself. How… interesting."
Grinning maliciously, Dionysus drums his fingers together. He could always pull one over the other god by using the demigods. And he would never even have to get his hands dirty.
Cackling madly, Dionysus disappears from his room.
Tyson, Hadrian and Percy were seated in a medium sized speed boat. The hippocampus would only take them so far, but Poseidon was kind enough to have a boat waiting for them.
"Why don't you just use your powers to teleport us to the Fleece?" Tyson questions the god.
"Simple really. Demigods learn on every quest they go on. They gain new memories and life experience. If I were to use my powers, everything would come too easily for Percy. He needs to learn so that he can grow into his own person."
Percy, who had already had this talk with Hadrian over the school months, nods along with his boyfriend. "Yeah, it also would not be fair to Hadrian if he was there to solve every little thing life throws my way. If I can't learn to think for myself then I would be a lousy boyfriend for him. Plus I don't want him to feel like I am just with him so I can get the easy way out."
Laughing, Hadrian reaches over and gently thumps him upside the head. "That is the reason why you thought I was only a demigod when we first met. So you could get to know the real me."
Feeling his eye widen, Tyson looks between the two. "Dad didn't tell me that! You really pretended to be a demigod? How cool! But it does explain everyone's reactions back at camp. I thought they just didn't know your real identity."
Percy, who was doing a remarkable job steering for a demigod, looks over the lines of the water. The Three Sisters had given him a list of numbers, and with a small amount of help from his surprisingly insightful half-brother, they had found out it was coordinates. Even though they had Tyson who had a sense for where the Fleece was, it was nice to have a set location. "Yeah, he wanted to get to know me without the whole 'god' thing in the way. You know the reputation most gods have. He didn't want me thinking he was the same way and then judging him over that."
"Wow," Tyson breathes in amazement. "That is so awesome. You really are the coolest Hadrian."
Laughing in embarrassment, the young god ruffles the back of his hair. "It was really nothing if you think about it. Most gods are known for only using humans, and demigods, for one thing before throwing them away like yesterdays garbage after they get what they want. I wanted Percy to have the chance to get to know me without those preconceived notions already in his head."
"You two are so cool. I'm glad you're my brothers." Tyson admits happily. Even his dad slept around, so to see a god that wasn't Hera or a virgin goddess so committed to their significant other really made Tyson excited for his own relationship.
Hadrian, who was sitting in the passenger seat looking over maps, froze. "Brothers?"
"Yeah." The cyclops chirps. "You and my brother are obviously getting married and you said you consider me family, so I consider you my brother too."
Tri colored eyes fill with tears. Every sibling he has from any of his parents hate him because of his powers. They despised him for getting from strength than they have. They swore on the River Styx to never claim him as their brother. So to hear Tyson so carelessly and joyfully state that really pulls at the god's heart.
"Thank you Tyson. You have no idea how much that means to me."
Percy, who was watching and listening to their exchange, smiles beautifully. His newest family already whole heartedly accepts his boyfriend. What more could a demigod ask for?
Apparently he thought too soon. Because it would have been really fucking great to know that they were in the Sea of Monsters, which apparently his father did NOT have jurisdiction of so he was useless.
Charybdis' teeth were rapidly spinning around them. Their jagged edges reminding Percy of a shark's fins.
"Everyone, HOLD ON!" Percy screams. It would be a miracle if they made it out of this.
Tyson and Hadrian each grip the handles on the side of the boat tightly. The dark, almost black, water was churning viciously around them making a noise that was almost impossible to hear over.
Hadrian, who did NOT want him, his boyfriend, or his newly appointed brother, to die was about to teleport them to safety.
"Don't son." Hades words ring through Hadrian's head.
"What the bloody hell do you mean 'don't'? We are about to fucking get eaten by Charybdis!" Hadrian mentally screams back at his dad. It would be a cold day in hell before he let his two companions die.
"This is all playing out according to fate. Do not worry about it. It is happening as it should. Hecate has told me so." Hades soothes his son.
"Fine, but if either of them die, I am coming after you next."
Pulling from his son's mind, Hades gulps to himself in the underworld. "I really hope Hecate is right, or I am one truly dead god."
"Her stomach. We are seriously in Charybdis' stomach right now?" Percy asks incredulously for the third time.
Sighing, Tyson lightly pats his younger brother on the head. "Yes. But now we have to figure out how to get out."
The inside of Charybdis' stomach was like every hoarders dream. Loads of boats and old ships decorates the ground. Some ever looking old enough to be a part of the fight ships from the sixties. The walls of her stomach were constantly expanding in and out, leading Percy to believe it was also the way she breathes. And that had literally nothing on the smell. It literally smells like someone died. 'Which,' Percy thinks, 'probably is not too far off."
"Jackson! Is that you?"
Oh. My. Circe. If there was one voice Percy was not in the mood to listen to right now it was Clarisse's.
"What are you doing here Clarisse? You know you didn't get chosen for this quest."
The burly daughter of Ares was standing on top of an old fighter ship. And now that Percy is actually looking in her direction he can make you several figures moving along the ship's deck.
Hadrian's tri colored eyes narrow in annoyance. There would be only one way the girl made it ahead of them and that was with the help of a god. And the only god he knew that was ballsy enough to try and pull it off was Dionysus. That pudgy twat was in for it when they got back to camp.
"Yeah, well me and Captain Smartass decided to come along anyways."
Groaning, Percy puts his head in his hands. "Annabeth is here also?"
Annabeth, who was attracted by the shouting, makes her way to the edge of the boat so she is standing beside Clarisse. "You got it Seaweed Brain. Now get over here so that you can help us get out."
Standing on the shore of the abandoned Circe Fun Park, Hadrian and Percy are glaring heavily at Annabeth.
"-… And that is why that, that freak shouldn't come along with us any further."
Tyson, who honestly was not expecting such hurtful words and Hadrian and his brother had whole heartedly accepted him, has a gentle stream of tears flowing out of his chocolate eye.
"Are you done?" Percy calmly questions Annabeth, his fists clenched at his sides.
Crossing her arms across her chest and huffing, the blonde nods. "I am certain you see my point now, yes."
Breathing harshly through his nose, sea foam eyes spit fire at the daughter of Athena. "Good. Because I am tired of hearing your condescending, racist, bigoted, hateful ass remarks towards my brother. What? Because some Cyclopes that you don't even know almost killed Thalia the entire race is bad? What the fuck Annabeth? I thought the children of Athena were supposed to be smart? How fucking hypocritical are you? Some Satyrs are bad but I don't see you bad mouthing the ones at camp? Though judging by your retelling of the story and how you have abso-fucking-lutely no ounce of regret for what you did to the satyr you brought along with you, I guess you truly don't fucking care." Stepping up closer to her, their noses almost touching, Percy continues his rant. "And even if his entire race was completely evil, he is not and in no way will I have you talk about my fucking brother like that again. One more fucking word and I swear I am punching you."
Annabeth, who had been in shock during his rant, sneers at the son of Poseidon. "Everyone knows you are just like your daddy. You will not do anything to me. Though why you defend that disgusting monster, I will never understand."
Percy, hearing his newly met brother give a small sob of pain, rears his arm back and punches Annabeth in her nose, grimly smiling in satisfaction when he feels it break. "I fucking warned you. No fucking more or I will let my boyfriend have the next punch, I can practically feel him seething right now."
Pivoting on his heel, Percy walks the couple of steps and throws his arms around Tyson in a tight hug.
"Don't you ever listen to that bitch, okay? We, the people that actually matter, love you just the way you are."
Clutching his brother tightly against his chest, Tyson buries his head in his brother's hair. "Thank you. I love you too."
Hadrian smiles gently at the heartwarming scene before turning and glaring at Annabeth. The girl was clutching her nose, thick rivets of blood pouring from it.
Clarisse, who was silently watching the exchange, begins hysterically cackling. "Good job Jackson. I've been wanting to do that to the snooty bitch since we started this quest."
"So," Percy whispers. "We get in and get out. Quick, simple and easy. Got it?" The group, including Annabeth, all nod their heads. "Polyphemus is one tough son of a bitch and I honestly do not want to risk battling him."
Sneering at the other demigod, Annabeth retorts, "Why don't you just have your pet god kill him?"
"Oh my Circe Annabeth can't you keep your fucking mouth shut for five minutes?" This surprisingly came from Clarisse. "All I have heard this entire quest has been you bitching and it is pissing me off!"
Shooting the female a thankful look, Percy glares at Annabeth. "Because he is not my 'pet' he is my boyfriend, and he is not just going to do my quests for me. He just tags along for company. Now can we get this over and done with? I am pretty sure Thalia's tree is getting closer to dying every second we spend wasting by arguing."
"Fine."
Making their way back up the hill towards camp the group groans.
"So close. After this I swear I am sleeping for a week. I feel like I got hit by a train." Clarisse moans.
"At least you only got shoved by him! I got punched! Punched!" Annabeth complains.
"You two can't really complain seeing as Tyson got pushed off a cliff." Percy adds in.
Hadrian winks at his boyfriend. "You had to dress in drag and do the hula."
Groaning, Percy leans against his brother. "I wish I had never introduced you to Disney movies. They have given you too many ideas."
Smirking, Hadrian leads the group the rest of the way up the hill until they finally reach the top.
"Ah good. You five are right on time. I will have a serious talk with both Annabeth and Clarisse later, but for now I think it is best if we get the Fleece on Thalia's tree. It won't last another minute." Chiron greets the group. Him and a large horde of campers were standing near the tree, impatiently waiting for the groups return.
Annabeth, who refused to let anyone else carry the Fleece since they had got it, rushes towards the dying Pine. Gently laying the Fleece onto a graying root, she steps back and waits on batted breath for it to start working.
Everyone releases a sigh of relief when magic races up the trunk, restoring life to the bark and green to the leafs.
The campers cheer when the tree comes back to life.
They did not expect to see a girl fall out of the vines circling the base of the large pine, nor were they expecting to hear the words "What the fuck?"
Hadrian smiles. He knew all the nature energy he fed into the tree bark was keeping that tiny bit of Thalia alive. He just knew it would need something special for the daughter of Zeus to finally emerge. And here she was. His debt to his uncle was paid.
Sorry I am in kind of a slump with this. I honestly rushed through the Golden Fleece quest because I am tired of having to go through the books to make sure i have certain details right. So from now on I am going to give him original quests so that I can reduce my stress levels with this.
Also, I have plans to make Percy a bad ass too. Do not worry. We just got to get there.
Review, please? It is the only thing that keeps me motivated to update.
