Dr. Saito pulled up the results of Dean's pregnancy test on the computer screen, "You're pregnant. Just barely, if you'd come in a week earlier we wouldn't have been able to tell."
She wanted to congratulate the young couple but judging by Dean's body language, the doctor held off.
The young Omega had sat the whole visit with elbows on knees, jiggling one leg and eyes on the floor. As soon as the doctor confirmed what they already suspected, Dean's leg stopped moving.
Castiel, on the other hand, had sat ramrod straight, hands folded neatly on his lap and earnest blue eyes focused on the doctor. His response upon hearing the confirmation was to flash her a huge, gummy smile. The Alpha wrapped an arm around his Omega and gave Dean a squeeze, "This is great news."
Dean mentally put on his big boy boxers to face the obvious, he was knocked up. There was no strength in his voice, just softness, "It's going to be ok, right, Cas?"
"Of course, Kitten, you know I'd never let you down." He gestured toward their daughter who was busy trying to coax a jar of tongue depressors off the counter, "Just look at what a great job we do with Gracie. Remember, the second time will be easier."
"Says you."
The doctor pulled up a calendar to pinpoint a delivery date, "You're not far along, just a matter of weeks, but then Omegas do show early but usually not this early."
Dean felt his panic rise, "What does that mean? I noticed I got morning sickness earlier than I did with Gracie and I'm a freakin' emotional mess and its worse than last time."
"Every pregnancy is a little different. Don't worry; you're a very healthy young man. I'd say you can expect to give birth the first week in March." She added with a grin, "A prom night baby, very cliché, well, it will be a nice story to share with the child."
They were interrupted by the sound of some hitting the floor. Grace had somehow managed to coax the coveted jar of tongue depressors off the counter. The tot now held two fistfuls of her treasures and when Castiel scolded her and tried to take them from Grace, she said her favorite word, "No."
Dean tried to grab Grace but she slipped though his hands and bolted out the door just as the nurse opened it to bring in his visit summary.
"Get her, Cas!"
The quick Alpha easily caught the escapee before she made it to the lobby. Fighting him the whole way back, Grace cried at the top of her lungs. She was hungry, tired, teething and had a loaded diaper. Taking after her mom, she wanted what she wanted and no one was going to stop her.
Cas entered the examination room and held his daughter out to Dean, "take her."
Dean sniffed her butt, "Gross, it smells like a week's worth of road-kill and curry after a week in the desert. Are you sure you want another one of these?"
The Alpha was absolutely certain, sort of. He gave an affirmative nod, "Yes. Besides, fate has already made that choice for us."
"No, a graveyard fuckfest sans condoms did that."
Grace gave up fighting and her tense muscles let go. She kissed her mommy on the cheek and cooed, "wuv you."
With just two little words, the expectant Omega's worries melted away, at least for the moment.
"Yeah, I want another one, but it's sure gonna be a long nine months.
…
The day of Dean's graduation party was a perfect day to christen the new in ground pool Spencer had installed. Using a work bonus, he splurged for the luxury and made sure it was completed just in time.
Looking around at all the guests, Dean was sure this would be one of his best days ever.
Bobby Singer and his wife Nicky and daughter Addy traveled all the way from South Dakota for the event.
Salvatore and Terry were there with their tot, Isabelle. Benny and Javier came with the twins, Beau and Angelina, also Martin and Mason brought Adam. Barbara Leech and ever faithful Prendi showed up with a photographer in tow.
Mateo and Phyllis Mercado showed up and brought along his nephew, fresh off the plane from Spain.
Also in attendance were a few work friends of Spencer's and a few of Scotty's, along with the surrounding neighbors and also relatives from Spencer's side of the family, the entire back field had been set up to accommodate a large and noisy group.
Besides the DJ, there were caterers with four grills going, a table of chafing dishes plus another table groaning under the weight of Dean's favorite desserts. There was an open bar for the real adults and the legal age teens were allowed beer since Spencer arranged for designated drivers. Scotty had arranged for childcare to play kid wrangler and keep their babies safe.
The Omega made sure every single thing was perfectly in place because Dean was more than just a son-in-law via marriage, he was Scotty's friend and the Omega loved him dearly.
He felt Dean deserved all this. In fact Scotty had added on each invitation that gifts were welcome and encouraged. He knew what it was like to have a neglectful and abusive childhood and the strength it took to claw your way out of it, bruised and scarred but still sane and grasp every bit of "normal" that came your way, then make the most of it. He wished for Dean all the normal the kid could handle.
It delighted Scotty to watch Dean's excitement build as the guests, some of them a surprise, arrive. As the large, gift tables became stacked higher and higher with packages and the card box filled with goodies and cash, Dean thought he was going to pass out from all the happy feels he was experiencing.
Spencer held up his glass of scotch and tapped the crystal with a fork until the noise died down. "Welcome, everyone, to our official pool opening, but that's not why we're here; this is a celebration of my son-in-laws milestone."
There were cheers for Dean and applause.
"Not only that, I want to acknowledge my boy, Sam Winchester Novak who maintained high honors. I'm proud of you son," he nodded toward Sam and Dean, "I'm proud of both of you."
The elder Alpha held up his hands to quiet everyone down again, "That's not all we are celebrating. I'm happy to announce my beautiful wife and son-in-law are both pregnant."
That was it; the guests went bonkers, partly from the news and partly due to a little early drinking.
"I'd also like to welcome Bobby Singer and family who traveled a far distance to celebrate in Dean's accomplishment."
The elder Hunter didn't like being the center of attention and was glad his wife and daughter were there to pick up the social slack. He wasn't one for large groups of regular people because Bobby Singer was far from regular.
"And lastly, welcome to our new neighbors, Lucian and Dmitri Nistor."
Spencer pointed to two males he guessed to be in their mid twenties. They were identical twins he'd heard had moved here from Romania. He knew very little about them except they seemed independently wealthy, especially to afford a grand house in the area.
The sinfully attractive twins waved in unison. They'd already attracted a lot of attention. With strong, sculpted features, large, dark eyes rimmed with bottle brush lashes, dazzling white teeth, olive skin and fit bodies, the brothers looked as if they'd be more at home on a runway than a family party.
Dean took the microphone from the DJ booth, "Thanks for coming everyone and thanks for all the good wishes and," he gestured to the gift tables, "all of that. My gift is really having all of you here."
A communal, "awww" went through the crowd.
Sam rolled his eyes; he knew when his brother was being sappy on purpose. Dean winked at his brother, having scored major brownie points with the guests.
Dean did a fist pump, let out a whoop and yelled, "I'm eating for two, no limits!" He dropped the microphone and grabbed his brother by the hand, "Come on Sammy, let's destroy that buffet before Cas stops me."
Castiel pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing in exasperation. Scotty slapped him on the butt, causing Cas to jump. "Stop being a pill, let him eat the world if he wants to do it. It's his day."
Spencer handed his son a glass of sangria, "Have a drink, live a little."
Cas looked around, head swiveling like an owl as he tried to spot his daughter, "Where's Grace?"
Spencer pointed toward the kiddie pools where all the little ones were having a blast under the watchful eye of two sitters, "Having fun, you should try it." What only could be described as a Machiavellian look, Spencer whispered, "Do it, son, come to the dark side with me. Just think, today there are no responsibilities, just food, booze, music, swimming and socializing."
Scotty assured the Alpha that the children were in very capable hands and just to be safe, each young lady had been given a whistle to blow in order to alert the parents if they were needed.
Cas took a long draw of sangria and then stripped off his tee, leaving him only in parrot covered board shorts and flip flops. Taking a page from Dean's book, he twirled his shirt over his head and tossed it in the air. A former student caught it, sniffed the pits then waggled his brows at Mr. N.
Dean appeared seemingly from thin air and snatched the tee from his flirty friend, "You're cut off!"
"Aw, man, come on, Dean. I was just kidding around!"
Dean gave him a look as serious as a heart attack as he let out a very Alpha-like growl, "go flirt with someone else, Mark, someone single."
Just then, Leonardo Mercado strutted past them, wearing his euro bikini bottoms that left little to the imagination. Mark took off for much greener pastures.
….
Alex was into kissing now and he kissed everyone in the tot posse. The only one that didn't like it was little Adam who told his pushy friend "no" because that was the word du jour for all the kids. Adam instead kissed Angelina on the cheek and she giggled like crazy.
"Hello, little ones," Lucian Nistor smiled down at the children, then set his eyes on the two young women watching them, "ladies." He flashed the females a smile as bright as sunshine then went over to Javier to introduce himself.
One girl pointed out the obvious, "oh my god, that guy is hot as f, and did you hear that accent?"
"I wonder if their single."
Adam tugged at his swim diaper, "I poop." That snapped both women back to reality quickly. One of the sitters took him into the house to change him while the other dumped out the pool water. They were over watching wet babies anyway.
Grace slipped out of the other sitters' sight to take another look at the stranger. She found him chatting up Javier, a friend of her mommy's. The tot tugged on the stranger's swim trunks to get his attention.
The stranger didn't like this at all, he was working the crowd, picking a target and he'd barely scratched the surface, though he did like this feminine, pocket sized Omega. He was not only cute but looked very easy to handle.
Grace tugged the hem of his trunks again and this time Lucian bared his teeth for a brief second to scare the little girl away.
