"Honey, you realize I don't have anything healthy here for you to eat right? All I have is coffee and tea, and even tea isn't that great for you." I pouted hugging Mrs. Weiss, my look as pleading as I could get it.

"Please, you don't understand. I need it. Tea, coffee, a scone, something! I really might die!" Mrs. Weiss sighed staring down at me as I began to fake cry.

"Okay, okay, how about I make you a good lunch; one that won't get me into trouble with that fiancé of yours." I squealed happily sitting in one of the empty chairs. Mrs. Weiss chuckled making her way to the kitchen to prepare something edible for me. Weeks had passed…and it was brutal when Levi was around. He managed everything I ate, to the point that I was tempted to cook him and eat him if he kept it up. I stared down at my now pretty visible baby bump. My hand rested comfortably on my stomach as I waited patiently for Mrs. Weiss. She came back out from the kitchen a sandwich and some tea in hand. "It's not much, but hopefully it helps." I smiled thankfully as she set everything down in front of me. "So what are you going to name it?" Mrs. Weiss sat across from me, a small cup of coffee in front of her.

"I have no idea. Levi has been gone so much with the Survey Corps we haven't been able to talk about it."

"You still have plenty of time. Have you found a house yet?"

"Nope. I don't know where to start with all of this…" I sighed loudly. "It's so overwhelming. I didn't realize there was so much to do." Mrs. Weiss giggled patting my arm.

"Well I'm glad you haven't found a place yet, I wanted to get to you before you did. My late husband and I have a house in Yalkell, though I know it's a bit of a ways away…I haven't been back since my husband past, I'd like to give it to you as a wedding present." I stared stunned at Mrs. Weiss.

"Mrs. Weiss please, that's too much…" She put her hand up to stop me.

"It's Elise, and it's really no bother. I can't bear to go back there; you would have much more use for it than I would." I bit my lip as Elise's hands clutched mine tightly. "I really hope you accept."

"I would be honored, Elise." She smiled happily, patting my hand before standing up and heading to get more coffee and tea for us.

"I'm so happy, you'll just love it! It may need some work…but it is perfect for a small family." I smiled as she sat back down sipping at her coffee. Elise continued to rave about the house having a small garden and 3 bedrooms and lots of open space. As she continued, I caught a figure out of the corner of my eye enter the shop. My heart nearly stopped at the sight of Damien whose gaze was dead set upon me. Realization set in about how quickly word had spread that Levi had impregnated 'some girl.' If Damien caught wind, he'd know exactly who that 'some girl' was. His eyes stared me up and down, noticing my obvious baby bump as well as the ring on my finger, which was well exposed as I held onto my cup. Elise caught the frown forming on my face, turning and facing Damien herself.

"Can I help you with something?" She asked nicely, though she knew who he was from back when I had been dating him.

"Just some coffee please." His voice was rough and cold. I watched as he sat as far away from me as he could. I couldn't help but feel guilty. Across the coffee shop was the man I'd been with for a year, the man that even proposed to me, and it still hadn't been 6 months, and I was already knocked up and engaged. If he didn't hate me before, I'm pretty sure he did now. I stared down at my cup of tea nervously, fidgeting with the rim while Elise brought Damien his coffee. This day couldn't get any worse in my opinion. Elise sat back down with me, staring at me sympathetically.

"Are you okay?" She whispered. I nodded sipping at my tea again. We sat silent for a few minutes, the ticking from the clock on the wall becoming more and more apparent. "When does he come back?" Elise broke the silence, forcing my eyes from the clock back to her.

"He won't be back for a few weeks. I guess they've been having some progress with Eren, so they're doing a lot more experiments at the old HQ."

"Well you let me know if you need anything, dear. I know it can be stressful on your own with so much to do."

"Thank you Elise, I really do appreciate it." She nodded, patting my shoulder as she stood up heading back into the kitchen. The moment she was out of sight, Damien stood up approaching my table, his coffee in hand. I mentally sighed hoping this wasn't going to be trouble.

"So, the rumors are true. Levi's getting the family I wish I had." I bit my lower lip nervously staring down at my tea. "Congrats, I guess." I glanced up at him as he stared painfully back.

"I'm sorry." He shook his head.

"You don't need to be sorry. You moved on with the man you love. I'm just being a bit jealous." I managed to force a half smile before sipping at my tea nervously.

"Where's your girlfriend?" Maybe if I changed the subject it'll keep him off me and Levi.

"Oh ya know, screwing my friends, no big surprise." He retorted sarcastically rolling his eyes.

"What?" I stared at him wide-eyed.

"Yea, you remember Thomas? The one from the ball?" I nodded, grimacing at the thought of that creepy guy. "Well, he was the first guy she decided to shack up with while I was at work."

"I am so sorry Damien." He shrugged staring off into space.

"It's whatever. I'm just glad she's out of the picture. I think I'm not going to date for a long time." He chuckled making me giggle quietly.

"Well you could always swing the other way, test out those waters." I teased giving him a thumbs up.

"How about you go test the waters in the land of Go-Fuck-Yourself." He joked back. We laughed for a moment, both of us gradually going back to our awkward silence. "I am really happy for you Ahna. As long as you are happy, it makes me happy." I smiled warmly.

"Thank you Damien. I'm glad we can actually get along right now." He nodded finishing his coffee.

"I am too. Have you found out what you're having?" I shook my head.

"I think we're just going to be surprised. We haven't even discussed names though." Damien fidgeted with his coffee cup.

"Well I have to get back to work, but keep in touch Ahna. It's nice being able to talk to you once in a while." I smiled up at Damien as he stood up and left the coffee shop.

"That boy is still all eyes for you." Elise was by my side again staring at the front door.

"Elise!" We both laughed.

It was getting to be a lot to handle being pregnant and planning a wedding. The months seemed to fly by like crazy. Before I knew it, I was in my last month, due any day now. I stared down at my stomach rubbing it lightly. Once in a while I'd get a small contraction but nothing crazy to get me to the hospital yet. Levi and I had moved into our new house without much trouble at all, though I always found myself at the Headquarters, surrounding myself with everyone. It was too lonely to be in an empty house all the time. I needed to get up and move, this waiting around was going to kill me. I made my way outside, staring up at the clear sky as I started to walk around the town. I must've been lost in my own little world because a hand on my shoulder suddenly brought me back to reality. I turned and smiled at the calm face of Levi as he made his way next to me.

"Getting antsy?" I nodded as we laced our fingers together as we walked down the street.

"I can't stand being inside. Can you just push this thing out for me?" Levi chuckled shaking his head.

"I'll probably damage it enough in life; I'd rather not do it now." I sighed loudly, pouting.

"You'll be a great dad." Levi stayed quiet, but I knew he was as nervous as I was about having a kid. We walked in silence for a while longer just enjoying the day. Another contraction started, only this time much worse than before. It was so painful that I doubled over cringing.

"Ahna are you okay?" I gasped a little as Levi began to rub my back, staring at me very concerned.

"I don't know, I'm in a lot of pain." I winced as the pain wasn't subsiding. "Levi I think I need to get to the hospital." Levi's face paled drastically, and for a split second he was lost as to what to do. "Levi, please!" I whined while holding my stomach. He didn't answer but his entire demeanor changed as he rushed me to the hospital. The pain felt worse and worse as time went on. By the time I was in a hospital bed I was border-line crying. The doctor rushed in staring down at me.

"How are you feeling Ahna?" I glared up at him angrily.

"How do you think I feel?" My voice was harsher than I meant for it to be but at this point, I couldn't care less about what the doctor thought.

"What is the pain like?"

"It's painful!" Levi smirked as I couldn't help but be sarcastic. "It won't go away!" I cried.

"What do you mean it won't go away? It's just continuous pain?" I nodded while holding my stomach. "Ahna, that's not a contraction. That's not good; we need to run some tests. Sir if you could," The doctor turned to Levi, "We have to take her to do some tests, they may take some time, you can't come back there but I will notify you of any changes. I ask that you stay close by." Levi stared at him somewhat pissed off.

"Why can't I go back there?" The doctor sighed, escorting Levi out the door and out of ear shot.

"We have to have a sterile environment; we will be running many thorough tests. I'm sorry I can't tell you more than that." Levi glared as the doctor made his way back into the hospital room.

-general pov-

Levi paced back and forth in the hospital waiting room, both Zoe Hange and Commander Erwin watching him. Levi was normally never this nervous about anything.

"Levi pacing isn't going to bring the doctor in any faster. Just sit down and try to relax." Hange said as gently as she could. Levi didn't respond, but instead continued to pace. The clock ticked by minute after minute, eventually turning into hours. Finally the doctor came out, looking rather disheveled.

"Mr. Rivaille, a word?" Levi nodded heading out of ear shot of the others with the doctor.

"I am very sorry for what I am about to tell you." Levi stared at the doctor with an ice cold glare as he continued. "Ahna is having a hard time with the baby. Her body isn't handling the delivery process well at all. With all of our tests, we concluded that she runs a very high risk of not making it through the delivery."

"What?" Levi's face paled worse than it had earlier.

"I'm sorry Mr. Rivaille, I wish this was good news. There is also a high chance the baby won't make it either. We are going to do everything we can, but your fiancée is really going to need you by her side through this, even if the worst comes of it, can I trust that you will be able to support her through this?" Levi stared at the doctor in complete shock.

"So you're asking me to fake smile my way through this delivery that more than likely will kill my family?" The doctor sighed heavily as he stared apologetically at Levi.

"I'm asking you to do your best to support her. It will be much harder for her if she's scared." Levi clenched his jaw tightly, forcing himself to steady his breathing.

"Can I have a minute?" The doctor nodded stepping away as Levi made his way to Hange and Erwin.

"Is everything okay?" Erwin asked at the sight of Levi's face.

"She might not make it through the delivery." Erwin and Hange stared surprised, Hange immediately tearing up. "I'm going in there to support her…"

"Levi I'm…" Levi shook his head, stopping Hange from talking. He turned on his heel, following the doctor into the delivery room. Ahna lay breathing heavily, her face stained with tears from the pain she had been enduring. It took everything in Levi's power to not show his emotions. He couldn't help but think about how happy go lucky she had been through the entire pregnancy, trying to make the best out of every situation, yet here she was, not even his wife yet, and there was still a high possibility she wasn't going to go home after this.

"Levi?" Ahna's voice was strained. The exhaustion in her face was apparent as she stared up at Levi.

"Hey I'm here." He whispered, making his way to the hospital bed, holding her hand gently.

"It really hurts Levi…" She whined. Immense pain soared through Levi's chest, nearly breaking him then and there.

"I know it does, but soon we'll have our baby here and we'll be able to go home and sleep okay?" Ahna nodded squeezing Levi's hand hard as more pain went through her body.

"Alright Ahna, now is the time we need you to start pushing okay? It's going to hurt but you can do this okay?" Ahna nodded nervously. On the doctor's count, she began to push, squeezing Levi's hand as hard as she could. She was practically screaming as she pushed hard. Levi rubbed her back gently, trying to console her through each push. "Alright Ahna, one more should do it." The doctor said as Ahna panted heavily. On his count, she began to push again. Her groans and screams began to quiet dramatically. "Ahna stay with me!" The doctor yelled out.

"Ahna, no stay awake baby girl, you have to push." Ahna gasped, tears flowing down her face as she completely gave up on pushing, her entire weight pushing back against Levi's hand. "Ahna! Ahna stay awake come on!" Levi yelled. He could feel her barely breathing against his hand.

"Plan B, let's go." The doctor called out. "Mr. Rivaille, keep your eyes on Ahna, do not look this way." Levi kept his eyes on Ahna regardless, doing everything he could to keep her awake.

"Ahna, come on baby, please stay awake." Ahna's eyes fluttered open as Levi held her tightly in his arms.

"Levi, I'm tired." She whispered.

"I know you are, but you have to stay awake. Don't you want to see our baby?" She nodded gently, struggling to keep her eyes open.

"Levi, I can't stay awake…" Her voice trailed.

"No Ahna! Don't you dare fall asleep right now." Ahna's grip on Levi's hand began to loosen slowly. "Ahna don't do it please!" Levi pleaded. The doctors yelling, the noise of them operating to get the baby out, everything just disappeared as Levi pleaded for Ahna to stay awake. No matter how hard he tried, she wasn't opening her eyes. His emotions burst through tenfold, tears streaming his eyes as he yelled out for Ahna to wake up. He hadn't noticed that the doctor was standing next to him now. The doctor placed his hand on Levi's shoulder gently.

"Mr. Rivaille…I'm sorry…we did everything we could." Levi's gaze came to the doctor finally. The doctor was covered in blood; the grim look on his face said it all. Levi sunk to the floor, still holding onto Ahna's hand. He lost it all. He lost his family for good. A few minutes passed by, a noise startling everyone in the room. It was a sound Levi thought he'd never hear…

"Quick, doctor!" One of the nurses called out. It was as if time just stood still as they rushed around frantically, Levi still sitting on the floor.

"Mr. Rivaille?" Levi stared up at the doctor confused. "Would you like to hold your daughter?"

"What?"
