The entrance doors of an underground laboratory opened outward, lightly slamming against the walls. A man in a heavily decorated suit of valor and medals. The man's Iron Cross was proudly visible on his chest with no care. Beside the man were soldiers. One wore a leathery army officer cap with a symbol of an eagle made out of steel on the front. They both wore gas masks. Their lens reflected the lights of the hallways. Both men wielded MP35s within their grasps while having Lugers in their belts around their waists.

The trio walked forward, their footsteps echoing throughout the hallway.

"Mein Kaiser," the man to the left, who wore the officer cap, spoke up, his voice sounding rough and a hint of obedience, "the northern front has come to a standstill due to the harsh winter. We currently hold air dominance over the Soviet's skies."

"What about the land-lease from the Kingdom of Acorn?" asked the Kaiser, having both hands on his back. He wore a hat similar to the military officer, but, the front was a little small and the instead of the eagle it is replaced with a three-colored roundel of Black, Red, and White.

"The weapons recently came in, sir."

The Kaiser nodded. "Anything else, Offizier?"

"Well, other than our southern neighbors giving us and our allies' weapons for the war as well, no significant development around Mobius has occurred.

"Noted."

The trio finally reached the door that was at the end of the hallway. Behind the door was where the scientist experiment new weapons that are currently in the works and materials that could benefit the country or Mobius entirety. The trio opened the door, stepping into the world of science. The room was massive; Triple the size of a high school gymnasium. There were huge windows, which view the rooms in which the ongoing experiments are being demonstrated for scientists to witness and write notes down. Scientists in lab coats were walking around the place or talking to each other.

The Kaiser scanned the area with his eyes until he spotted a scientist, a green Mobian fox with glasses, the usual lab coat, black pants, and orange eyes. The fox was currently talking to another scientist. He walked up, his two men following along, to the fox as the scientist notices him. The scientist immediately stopped doing everything he was doing and stood upward.

"M-Mein Kaiser," the scientist quickly calmed himself while clearing his throat, "I am guessing that you have come here to see the state of our current project, right?"

"Yes. Any progress on it?"

"Oh yes, oh yes, mein Kaiser. Please, follow me. We will talk along the way to the observatory room."

"Very well." The Kaiser looks at his two men before raising his left hand to head level. The officer and soldier nod their heads as they stood on guard. The Kaiser and the scientists proceeded to head to another hallway. This hallway had glass windows that show current experiments like the ones in the lobby. One room tested out new engines for aircrafts. Another room showed soldiers practicing prototype weaponry on dummies, including explosives that were not to cause maximum destruction to the facility.

The two discussed while they walked down the hallway.

"My team has been able to make more Diamond Glass out of the original that we found in the ruins of Robotropolis. We are still testing it, but, we have gotten favorable results with our previous experiments."

"Favorable how, my dear scientist?" asked the Kaiser, looking at the scientist.

"Glad that you ask mein Kaiser. Follow me here!" The scientist turns to another door in the hallway, which led to another hallway that was specifically to see the tests on the Diamond Glass. The duo enter, still talking.

"You see, it seems that the glass is able to withstand so many of our firepower. We shot rockets at a thin glass made out of Diamond Glass and it did not have any scratch on it! Even our best weapons in our disposal did not leave a mark! Could you imagine what we could do with this?"

"Yes, this could favor us in our war. Now, have you tried making this into a tank or armored vehicle somehow?"

"Well, err… we have tried to, but, our previous tests have ended up," the scientists goes over to another window with the Kaiser following "into failures." In the other room, there were more of the diamond glass, but in the shapes of vehicles with metallic wheels underneath it. At first, he did not know what was wrong until he noticed the other vehicles, which had the wheels, fallen off with black smoke seething from the engine compartment it.

"While they are drivable, their wheels are the only weak spots, making them immobile during combat, putting us in risk of the Soviets taking them and reverse engineering."

"What about making a plate in front of the wheels to make them impenetrable?"

"Even if we did, it will be impossible to replace the wheels if they break during battle due to the plating basically being impossible to remove with our current tools."

"Well, that is some bad news to hear."

"But, we have made something of use with this material for war." The scientist proceeded to head to a third window, the Kaiser following suit. In this room, it showed armor suits made out of the diamond glass.

"We have been able to make body armor out of the material. It is lightly heavy, but, the test subjects of military age wore them with no trouble."

"Hmm, perfect. Now, how long will it to mass produce this armor for our soldiers?"

"It depends. However, I could accurately calculate that they will be ready in eight months."

"Very well, then. I find all of these results very favorable. Thank you. Your efforts will help our nation in the future.

"Oh no," he waves both hands in protest of the compliment, "thank YOU, for taking your time in visiting my research lab. It is such an honor."

The Kaiser smiles at this, having both eyes closed. "Very well, I will now make my leave. Good luck, my fellow scientist, in improving our great nation."

The Kaiser and his man exited out of the building, being met by the friendly coldness of the night, which was either not too harsh or not forgiving either, just the right mix. Awaiting for them was a black limo with the symbol of the nation's eagle with the Iron Cross in the center of the eagle on the door of the limo. His officer opened the backseat door for him, walking up and climbing in, but not before giving his officer a smile of warmth, which probably made the officer's day a little better.

The interior of the limo was vanilla white except for the floor, which was rose red carpet. It did not take a minute until the vehicle started moving, driving into the night.

The Kaiser entered his home, a palace with more than seven rooms to accompany any visitors, himself, or his family, speaking of which, his beloved wife must be waiting for him for hours now. As he was about to walk, he is met by his butler, an old friend of his. "Master Hoffmann, it is wonderful to see you comeback. How was your visit?"

"It was good, Otto. I do hope you had a good night."

"I had. Also, your wife is currently asleep in the master's bedroom."

Hoffmann lets out a sigh of disappointed, showing a hint of sorrow. "I kept her waiting for so long. I'm gonna head to the bedroom. Good night, Otto." Hoffmann proceeded to walk up the stairs, every step let out dull creaking noises from the boards.

"I wish you good night, Master Hoffmann." Otto bows, the only thing he saw Otto doing as Hoffmann continued walking up stairs, his left hand on the railing. After climbing another staircase, he walks down his hallway with paintings on the walls and other doors that led to other rooms. He reaches and enter his room, slowly opening the wooden door. He spots his beloved wife lying in bed. She was a Mobian wolf with lightly pink fur with the age that was one year apart from Hoffmann's age.

He placed his helmet on a table near the door, his clothes on the chair near the bed and gently got onto bed without trying to unintentionally wake her up from her sleep. He slowly leans to her face and softly smack his laps on her forehead before his mind speaks "Rest well, my Lucy." He then leans his back against the relaxing bed, grabbing and pulling the cover onto himself.

Before he could drift away to the land of dream, he stared at the ceiling, both arms behind his head, left wondering on what challenges the next day will it holds for him and his country. He smirks as he finally sleeps, awaiting for him his future.
