It might have been the romantic summer moonlit night or perhaps the memories they shared of what felt like a lifetime ago as two awkward boys, both in need of what the other had to give came together, no matter the reason, this night almost nothing could ruin this moment.
Without a word, the Alpha and Omega wrapped their arms around each other and began to gently scent, noses trailing against bare skin and soft fabric as the breath between them came shallow and quick from the build of excitement. Alfie whined softly when he felt Sam's hard cock dig into to his belly.
Alfie stood on tiptoe, brushing his lips against Sam's, wanting a kiss and so much more. They'd never consummated their relationship as teenagers but now the Omega was ready to give himself to the male who had always owned his heart.
In the back of Sam's mind he knew this was wrong, a betrayal to Jess, but for once he decided to take a page from Dean's book and live for the moment. Big brother, for the most part, lived his life on instinct and consequences be damned.
Alfie lifted himself up using Sam's broad shoulders like a ladder and wrapped his legs around the Alpha's long, firm torso. The pair tumbled back, landing on the damp grass, the Omega on top. The scenting became frenzied. Sam clasped the Omega's face in both hands, "Alfie, I-"
Sam's phone went off, it was Jess' ringtone, he cringed as reality came flooding back in. After a few moments the ringing stopped then started up again. Alfie slipped the phone from Sam's front pocket and when Sam tried to take it the Omega slapped his hand away. Alfie first examined the photo of the gorgeous blonde on the screen before answering.
"Hello, who is this?"
"Who is this, where's Sam?!"
Alfie dropped the phone on Sam's chest and quickly got up then took off running.
…
"Stupid, stupid, stupid…how could I think Sam wouldn't have someone already…he's beautiful inside and out…"
Alfie's hand trembled as he tried to get his key in the lock of his apartment door.
His sweet, elderly neighbor across the hall, Mrs. Prust, cracked open her door, "late night, sweetie?"
Alfie didn't want her to see his tears so he turned away while working the lock, "It's two in the morning, you need your rest, Martha."
"Can't sleep when I'm worried about you," she wished him goodnight then quietly shut her door.
He stumbled inside his apartment, almost tripped over his cat Misty. The Omega decided to take a long hot shower to wash off the smell of Sam Winchester, his rich, Alpha scent only made the heartbreak worse.
Misty waited outside the shower until her human got out, toweled of and then went to bed where she settled in next to him.
…
Sam found Scotty waiting in the living room for him. The thirty five year old Omega was daintily sipping a cup of catnip tea. He lifted the cup, "Tea?"
Sam sat next to the only person he'd ever called "mom", "No thank you."
Scotty turned on the table lamp so he could see his son clearly, "I received a phone call from a young lady named Jess, today. Apparently you forgot to call her as promised. It was an enlightening conversation, I learned you two are engaged and if you get the job tomorrow you are both planning to move here together."
Sam dropped his head, "Yes."
"I woke up when the front motion light was triggered and imagine my surprise when peeking through the curtains I spotted you and Alfie scenting each other on like your lives depended on it."
Sam couldn't look at Scotty but he imagined those big ice blue eyes were boring a hole right through him. Sam opened his hands, palms up, "Jess called and Alfie answered. I don't know what to do, Mom, I'm not a cheater but seeing Alfie again, hearing his voice, touching his skin, holding him, scenting him…" Sam's voice trailed off.
This time he welcomed the mature Omega's advice and hoped he'd get a scolding because he deserved one big time and no one could scold like Scotty.
Scotty crossed his long legs and demurely covered his knees with the peacock blue bathrobe he was wearing.
"Sam, circumstances pulled you two apart as teens and you both went your separate ways but if Alfie had stayed, if his mother hadn't moved them, you might have found out he was "The One". There was a special connection between you two that even Helen Keller could have seen. I don't know what you feel for this Jess girl but she sounds very nice and you must have loved her enough to ask her to marry you."
Sam instantly hated the whine in his own voice, "I did, I do…I don't know anymore. Dating her was wonderful, I was happy, but since I put an engagement ring on her finger she clings to me so hard and I feel suffocated so I pull away. I thought moving us here would change things back to the way we were but I have all these feelings for Alfie and now he hates me. Jess must hate me too and neither of them deserve this."
Scotty was never one to pull punches, "One of them will get hurt badly but who ever said love is easy and pain free? Sam, you're only twenty five, you need to be sure who you want before you commit. Who is "The One" for you, Sam?" He brushed Sam's shaggy bangs from his eyes and when Sam looked at Scotty he was greeted with his warm smile and kind eyes, "Go to Alfie, apologize, explain things and then ask him for a date. I guarantee after you kiss him you'll know. In the meantime you need to nut up and at least message this girl and be honest with her. Ten to one she waits for you because Sam Winchester-Novak, you are a special guy."
"I don't feel special, I feel like a jerk."
Scotty stood and patted him on the shoulder, "Buy Alfie some candy and flowers or a pretty piece of jewelry or since he's a bit of nerd, like you, maybe a book or something. Make him feel special. The Omega added, "Good luck on your job interview tomorrow, you'll get it, I'm sure. You can take Alfie out to celebrate afterward. Things will all become clear."
….
Jack sat by the open window, jealously watching the teenagers having fun at the pool. He wanted so badly to join them but he was still sore and feeling the effects from presenting. His grandma Scotty also advised against it because, as the elder Omega put it, it was a teen tit and sausage fest out there and the air was dripping with hormones.
"Grammy sure has a way with words."
Scotty didn't need to worry much, there was only one boy Jack found interesting and that was handsome Beau Lafitte, he boy with the lean, muscular body, sapphire blue eyes, dark shiny hair and beautiful olive skin plus the kind of voice that dripped honey. Not to mention he was always kind and considerate to Jack and never made him feel like a stupid kid.
Every time the breeze kicked up Jack was lucky enough to pick up on his scent since the teen was sweating like a hot house monkey. To some it would have been a turn off, teen boys had a tendency to get pretty rank but to Jack it was the finest perfume in the world and despite the discomfort from his new sex organs, Beau's scent made Jack tingle all over but especially down there in a new and exciting way.
Molly practically bounced into her bedroom and handed Jack a rocket pop then sat beside him on the widow seat. The fellow twelve year old felt sorry for Jack because he was sore down there and couldn't go swimming.
"Don't feel bad, when I get my period I don't go swimming because I use pads, not tampons."
Jack turned to freckled girl, eyebrow cocked, "Do tampons hurt?"
"Dunno, I never tried one. I'll have to start if I want to be on the swim team next year." She flashed him a smile full of braces, "Gotta go."
Alone again, the baby Omega sucked on his rocket pop, disappointed he lost sight of Beau. That is until Beau's head popped up on the opposite side of the screen.
His voice was deep like his daddy's and carried just a slight Cajun drawl, "Penny for your thoughts."
Jack put the stick of the rocket pop in his mouth to suck off the sticky juice before answering. The entire motion burned into Beau's brain for later.
"I'm bored. I can't go swimming."
Beau touched his forehead against the screen, "You can come out though…right?" He could smell every little part of Jack and it made him feel lightheaded in a good way.
Jack moved closer to the screen, "I can't. I'm sure Gracie blabbed why to everyone by now."
"Don't matter; I think it's great, nothin' to be ashamed of. You shouldn't have to hide out like you got Ebola or something." Beau rolled his eyes up to meet Jack's, "I-I think you smell nice."
"Really?"
Beau nodded, "Really."
Adam smacked his friend across the back of the head, "Come on Romeo, the girls challenged us to a chicken fight!" He waved to Jack, "Hey buddy."
Jack's first instinct was to flip off Adam but he waved back instead. He silently cursed Adam for ruining the most important moment ever in the history of Mankind.
"Beau thinks I smell nice…"
Jack was on a cloud.
….
Dean woke up naked in the strawberry patch, covered in smashed berries. Castiel sat lotus style next to Dean, popping berries into his mouth. He stopped and gave enough his wife a smile, "I must have worn you out."
Dean got up to leak the lizard and do some stretching. His heat had abruptly ended sometime that morning but he wasn't too worried since it had started earlier than normal. He gave his balls a scratch while contemplating what to do with the rest of their day. When he cut a fart, Castiel made a face.
Cas got up and dusted the ground off the back of his ass, "Pissing, ball scratching and farting, its right back to reality I guess. It was sure nice while it lasted."
Dean did a pretend curtsy, "Sorry your Highness, I'll try to be more ladylike."
"If I wanted a lady or a simpering sort of Omega I would have married one," Cas drew the taller man into his arms, "I love you, farts, ball scratches and all. You are the one for me, Dean. You always have been and always will."
"I love it when you talk all pretty, Mister English Teacher."
They kissed gently, the fevered passion over for now. The mates were experiencing the afterglow and it felt almost as good as the fucking.
They took a shower together then spent the afternoon airing out the house and doing laundry to de-scent the place before the kids came home. It was strange not having Jack and Gracie there. It was almost too quiet.
Sam called that afternoon to tell Dean he got the job and would for sure be moving back home. Sam also mentioned he had a lot to tell him. Just hearing Sam's voice made Dean happy, he couldn't wait to catch up with his brother and was over the moon to hear that Sam would be back permanently. Of course Dean didn't tell him that but it didn't matter Sam could hear the happiness in his brother's voice.
